Will - Leader of Light of Purity.

He's been good friends with Jonas for years, who is the Leader of Order of Equality.

Calmed and centered, he won't hesitate in use his claws to any threat to Never Isle.

Intro[]

Will was born in Harveston and became pals with a rich kid named Jonas in their young age.

Will's father was an alcoholic and beat both him and his mother frequently. Finally, Will had enough and fought back, thrashing his father, after which he moved to Azria with his mom. He enlisted in the city's garrison and rose up in ranks due to his exceptional abilities. Meanwhile, Jonas inherited the family business and served Azria's Triumvirate with dedication, earning the trust of Elder Harmon.

When Azria was destroyed, Will was leading army elsewhere but his mother perished in the battle. Furious, he wanted retribution against the White Capes but Jonas managed to stop him. Soon after, Jonas founded the Order of Equality according to Harmon's dying wish. As instructed by Jonas, Will formed the Light of Purity in Harveston and, under the pretense of expelling 'Yellow Eyes', searched for and provided aid to Gyees under persecution.

Will has a broadsword forged from Dragonium. It was a gift from Jonas and named 'Forgiveness' as a reminder to forgive enemies as well as own past sins. It could be Jonas' profound influence on him or maybe regrets for things he did in his youth, Will swore to the sword that he would never use it unless in dire emergency.

Consolation Letter[]

Forgive me for not writing to you all these days. My duty in the military is so heavy.

I am very happy to learn your progress in the journey of Infusion. However, you need to beware that the Shadow's interest on you grows as well.

Remember this now and always. I know this is very cruel for you, but either you are cruel to yourself, or the fate will be crueler to you.

Please forgive my frankness. If you need any help, just contact me at anytime.

I wish you a safe journey.

Intimacy Breakthrough[]

This section contains spoilers for Intimacy Breakthrough scenes.

-Intimacy Level 4
Will: I like these, my son.
Will: But I don't need anything.
Will: So save your money next time.

-Intimacy Level 5
Will: The Light of Purity is a mere paper tiger.
Will: Huh, what prompted that all of a sudden?
Will: An enterprise without might is a melody without instruments.'
Will: Notice the word 'Enterprise'.
Will: Their goal is to support corporations and propaganda first, not to fight enemies.
Will: But that changes here and now!
Will: I'm telling you this because I want your help.
Will: I'll tell you the key specifics when the time comes.
Will: As for reward, rest assured it will exceed your expectation!

-Intimacy Level 6
Will: I am amazed by how the Hottie is set up, I like it.
Will: But I feel something is still missing...
Will: Why not put a bookshelf here?
Will: Yes, I know you young people don't like to read.
Will: But a catchy shelf should encourage that even a little.
Will: But you young people can do what you like, it's only a suggestion.

-Intimacy Level 7
Player: Fancy seeing you here, General Will.
Will: You don't want me here?
Player: No no, that's not the case at all!
Player: You could've just sent people to come get me if you wanted to chat.
Will: I'm not that highfalutin!
Will: Plus, it hasn't been busy the last couple day so I thought I'd come.
Player: Would you like something to drink, General?
Will: Anything you got is fine.
Player: ('I recall that General Will doesn't like alcohol...')
Player: ('It seems patronizing to serve just plain water.')
Player: ('Maybe a glass of warm milk instead.')
Scene transition
Will: I didn't think you knew me that well.
Will: You offered me milk since you know I don't like alcohol.
Player: I have no qualms with it.
Player: Are you here to talk to me about training the Vanguard of Light, sir?
Will: I know you well enough to know you'd notify me when you've reached a decision.
Will: It's pushy if I spoke to you before then.
Will: But why did you bring that up?
Will: Is there uncertainty?
Player: Ok.
Will: Tell me and I'll offer my opinion.
Will: I'm a commander for the Order, but I'm also your friend.
Will: As a friend, I'll offer my thoughts from your perspective.
Will: Free of my own subjective bias.
Player: I must go back ultimately, General.
Will: I understand and will wholly support you in that regard.
Will: You're neither from here nor a soldier, you're not obligated to serve us.
Will: Even though you've already contributed more than most of us ever had...
Will: Just remember you're a hero, but don't feel bound by the title.
Will: Also, training officer is only a job. You're free to come and go, and I'll always welcome you.
Will: Don't put too much responsibility on yourself, and don't overthink, either.
Player: Thank you, General.
Player: But I'm more concerned about doing a proper job...
Player: Although quite frankly, I'm rather amazed by my own deeds.
Player: Even though I know truly how limited I am.
Player: I'd die ten times over if I didn't get lucky so many times.
Will: You know, the more introspective you are, the less confident you'll be.
Will: In that sense, you and Eddie are two peas in a pod.
Player: I'm serious, General, and I've never been a training officer before.
Player: I've never even been in the military!
Will: Don't sell yourself short, kid.
Will: Do you think I'm a good judge of character?
Player: Yeah like...
Will: How about Eddie? Is he a good judge of character?
Will: You might not trust yourself, but do you not trust your friends too?
Will: If Eddie had recommended another person, I bet you'd laud him for the choice.
Player: I get you now, General. Thanks!
Will: Then we'll stop at that.
Player: General...
Will: You don't have to give me an answer today.
Will: I'm here for a chat, not official business.
Player: Ok!

-Intimacy Level 8
Will: Actually, moderate drinking is beneficial to health.
Will: It promotes blood circulation and warms you up.
Will: Plus, it improves the camaraderie when we bond over a drink.
Will: So, how about a glass?
Will: But don't make it a full one.

-Intimacy Level 9
Will: Actually, you know how I feel about the Shadow...?
Will: There's appreciation on top of hatred and disgust.
Will: Caged sleeping lion,' 'Star created by Jonas'...
Will: Had it not for the Shadow's resurgence, I couldn't have shaken off those labels.
Will: I'm telling you all this because you're not one of my subordinates.
Will: You know the world isn't full of commanders who shy from merits and fame.
Will: The only defeat that former second-in-command Nemesio suffered was because of his own stubbornness.
Will: It's the soldier's duty to serve, so it's very hard for a commander to take advice from them.
Will: But you are neither my soldier nor serve me.
Will: I need someone like you to get me back on track should fame blinds me one day.

-Intimacy Level 10
Will: What would you be had you not been a commander?
Will: You really stump me there, kid...
Will: Let me think for a bit.
Will: I probably would want to be a pro chess player.
Will: But that would only end in vain.
Will: I've played against Jonas most of my life and I could count my victories on one hand.
Will: He now calls me by this new term, 'Poser'.
Will: So, I would look for another option.
Will: Maybe an orator?
Will: I think I'm a pretty good orator, but that's because of my job and I don't like it.
Will: Things I like, I'm not good at. Things I'm good at, I don't like.
Will: Even when you're good at something you like, you still may not get the opportunity.
Will: But doesn't that apply to everyone, though?

-Intimacy Level 11
Purity Scout: General...
Will: Or did you not find it?
Purity Scout: Yes... Maybe the intel is wrong. There wasn't any cultist there.
Will: Did I said you could decide?
Purity Scout: Pardon me, it won't happen again!
Will: Did you see any suspicious character around the towns?
Purity Scout: No, sir!
Will: Keep looking.
Purity Scout: Yes, sir!
Player: Are you worrying about locating the Shadow cultists' secret hideout?
Will: Yes...
Will: The Light of Purity launched a thorough search lately.
Will: But to very little result.
Will: They hide better than the rats!
Player: I've had more experience dealing with the Shadow. Let me help, I may find something.
Will: It's great that you want to help, but not at the expense of your own business!
Player: Yes, give it to me.
Scene transition
Will: Is this the cultists' battleplan?
Will: Very good! Where did you get it from?
Player: We figured the followers between Shadowland and the higher-ups of the cult are generally Shadow Demons.
Player: But I'm concerned it might be another cunning cultist ploy...
Will: You mean they let you get it on purpose to lure us into a trap?
Player: It's very possible.
Will: Let me see...
Will: You're correct, this is absolutely a fake!
Player: How did you arrive at that conclusion?
Will: The cult is not required to report to the Shadowland, much less divulging any of their hideouts.
Will: The reason is simple: It's moot even if they do.
Player: Yes, but...
Player: Since they already pointed the locations out...
Player: Can't you just send airship to bomb the heck out of them?
Will: That is a great plan, kid. I knew I got the right person.
Will: But if we can think of that, so can the Shadow.
Will: What if the cultists enticed civilians to go to those locations?
Player: If they did that and caused us to barrage the folks instead...
Player: It would ruin the rep for both Light of Purity and the Order.
Will: Yes, so our option is to send troops to seize the venues.
Player: But the cult will definitely notice it and withdraw most of their forces.
Player: Or even concentrate their might for a counterstrike.
Will: Is there a better plan right now?
Will: We still hold present advantage, so it's not worth the risk.
Player: Sigh, how come I'm still not able to help...
Will: You're wrong about that, kid, at least we figured out what the Shadow's up to.
Will: It's much better than combing everywhere for clues!
Will: If you don't think you helped enough, how about doing me another favor?
Player: It will be my pleasure.
Will: Lies are usually concealed by truth.
Will: While the bulk of this battleplan is fake, there's bound to be some truth in it!
Will: Will you dig for the truth with me?
Player: Of course! That's something I'd be very interested in!
Will: All right then, kid!

-Intimacy Level 12
Will: I've been thinking about Zac, the man I sentenced to execution, on occasions lately.
Will: Zac and Jonas actually shared similarities.
Will: They would justify any action to achieve what they felt was right.
Will: Jonas has caused many a death, it's just that he never hurt his kind.
Will: But by the principle of his Order of Equality, Gyees and normal folks are no different.
Will: If I must describe Jonas, I'd say he's vile but kind, cold but passionate, tired but hard-working.
Will: But can you imagine that when he was young, he was not cold, not passionate, not tired, yet refused to work.
Will: Back then, he was a prodigal playboy.
Will: He was too lazy to inherit the family business, even threatening his parents, 'Push me again and I'll make my Yellow Eyes public!'
Will: He was a slacker. Even Mike is more diligent than he was right now!
Will: But now, Zac works late into the night and sleep for 4 hours, and hasn't had a day off for a full year.
Will: Time has changed us a lot.
Will: It dulled my recklessness and killed off his bacchanalian attitude.
Will: Guess we old people like to be retrospective.
Will: Don't read too much into what I said, take it at face value.
Will: It's what you young ones would call 'gossiping'.

-Intimacy Level 13
Will: Hmm, this wine... It's good.
Will: It's just a rumor that I hate alcohol, and I actually started that rumor.
Will: Didn't know that, did you?
Will: To me, liquors are just emotionless existence not worthy of love or hate.
Will: Yes, I did blame alcohol for my past missteps before.
Will: But then I realized it was me, not alcohol, who made the mistakes.
Will: Alcohol can never change who you are.
Will: It can only magnify what you hide inside of you.
Will: That is my real reason for not drinking.
Will: To be honest, I can't hold my liquor or my faculty afterward.
Will: But to avoid embarrassment, I deliberately planted the rumor... I don't think it's a big deal.
Will: About my faculty, it's not fighting or disturbing the public or anything like that.
Will: I'm too old for that.
Will: I can't stop talking after a couple drinks, rambling on without the dignity of a commander...
Will: Uh, did I just say too much already?
Will: No, no more shots, no more shots, or I'll lose control...
Will: Can you give me a hand, kid?

Dates[]

Visit

-Intro
Will: I'm going to Never Isle. Wanna come?
Player: Yes.
Scene transition
Player: Why are you going back this time?
Will: Some minor Order of Equality business, and catch up with friends.

-Catch up with Vundo. - 700 Intimacy
Will: Yes, I planned on that.
Will: After I get done with the Order, I'll take you to Vundo.
Will: We're old friends and two of a kind.
Will: I knew him back when he was a suave literati.
Will: I wonder how he's been all these years.
Will: Oh, you never tried Vundo's hand-ground coffee, have you?
Will: Well, you'll get a taste of that today!

-How's Eddie and his work? - 500 Intimacy
Will: Thanks for reminding me.
Will: Eddie's been doing well. He's a very reliable kid.
Will: Jonas is pinning high hopes on him.
Will: I don't come here often, I should drop in and check on Eddie.
Will: Come on, let's go see him.

-Ask Jonas to play chess. - 900 Intimacy
Will: Too bad he's too busy to come back to the Never Isle.
Will: We haven't played for so long.
Will: The chessboard in his office probably gathered a lot of dust by now.
Will: Even though he owns the Order, he doesn't do business on the island.
Will: I remember how we toiled when we first started.
Will: I never imagined we'd not get to see each other after we're both successful.
Will: He's always looking for new talent. I'll introduce you when I get a chance.
Will: Follow me, we'll play chess in his office.

HR Rules

-Intro
Will: Will you come with me to visit the Light of Purity's new local branch?
Player: Yes.
Scene transition
Will: I invited you so I can pick your young brain.
Will: For the Order to expand, it will need new management.
Will: What quality should we look for in prospects?

-Talent and ethics. - 900 Intimacy
Will: That is a flawless suggestion.
Will: Not only is it hard to find in the Light of Purity,
Will: but no one in the whole Order of Equality fits the bill other than Eddie!
Will: Thanks for your suggestion.
Will: I will evaluate every candidate with the criteria in mind.
Will: But I must lower my expectations too.
Will: Any candidate with outstanding track record or attitude will warrant consideration.
Will: It's important to develop for the future.
Will: I sure can learn a lot from young fellows like you!
Will: Come, let me show you another part of the facility.
Will: You must stay for dinner tonight.

-Good track record. - 500 Intimacy
Will: Heh, you have the same attitude as Jonas when it comes to workers.
Will: You two see eye-to-eye on this more than I did.
Will: Track record is a good gauge.
Will: But to me, it's not end-all be-all.
Will: Thanks for the suggestion. I'll take you to see another part of the facility.

-Attitude - 700 Intimacy
Will: That makes sense.
Will: That's how I choose who to promote.
Will: Then Jonas sought me out several times to discuss this.
Will: I must admit, people don't sit well to see others promoted because of their 'attitude'.
Will: You must take track record into consideration, as well.
Will: But attitude reflects what you are, so it will remain a chief criterion with me.
Will: Thanks for the suggestion. I'll take you to see another part of the facility.

Dinner Party

-Intro
Will: I saved you a seat as a guest of honor. Don't be late.
Player: Yes.
Scene transition
Will: You're early. Come, walk with me for a bit.
Player: The dinner tonight...

-Ask about guests. - 700 Intimacy
Player: Who else did you invite?
Will: Someone you know very well.
Will: Eddie is coming, representing the Order of Equality.
Player: How come I didn't see him?
Will: A superstar entertainer asked to be picked up by Eddie specifically.
Will: I sent him over. You'll see him in a while.
Player: Superstar entertainer?
Will: Yeah, it's someone else you know very well.
Will: Come, let me show you the backstage dressing room.

-Ask the purpose of the dinner. - 900 Intimacy
Will: This is the Light of Purity's annual Merit Banquet.
Will: The soldiers often lived among the masses.
Will: They have their individual tasks, such as scouting, persuasion, rescue, escort...
Will: With the goal of delivering every Gyee to Never Isle safely.
Will: They're not well known because of their low profile.
Will: That's good since it helps them avoid persecution.
Will: Members of the Light of Purity
Will: don't have a life as cozy as the Order of Equality,
Will: or do they get the glory like Oathblades.
Will: So this banquet is our way of showing gratitude for their hard work.
Player: I see.
Will: I will go on stage to express my thanks and give out awards.
Will: I asked you to come because I'd like you to be a presenter.
Will: Come, let's go rehearse a bit.

-Ask about food service. - 500 Intimacy
Player: It's a buffet.
Will: So that's what you wanted to know!
Will: The cooks from the Light of Purity are highly trained.
Will: Eat all you want, there's plenty for everybody.
Will: Come, let me show you the kitchen.

The Sleeping Lion

There comes a letter from General Will, very short though: 'I've been occupied with official businesses. It's been long already. Will you come to Never Isle to visit me, if you are available? -Will' Now that General Will has said that, why not?

-Part 1
Scene - Outside Order of Equality
Eddie stands in front of three rows of soldiers
Soldiers: Hya!
Eddie: Great! Hold that pose! Hold it!
Player walks in
Eddie: Ah? You're here!
Player: Are these the soldiers from the Light of Purity?
Eddie: Yes. This is General Will's new elite squad - 'Vanguard of Light'.
Eddie: The general hopes that these troops will become Light of Purity's dagger. The dagger that strikes at the heart of the Shadows!
Eddie: Usually, the general himself trains this unit. Currently, however, he is busy managing logistics and isn't unable to come.
Eddie: As such, I'm temporarily standing in for him as they train.
Player: Hold on, General Will isn't at Never Isle?
Player: But... in his letter he told me to go look for him at the Order of Equality.
Eddie: What? He told you to find him at... the Order of Equality?
Some Soldier: (Whisper) Huh? What's going on?
Some Soldier: (Whisper) Shh... Be quiet...
Eddie: You must be mistaken. The letter the general gave me says you're going to help us with training today and that you're going to give the troops a lecture.
Choice - Training? A lecture?
Leading Soldier: Tch. This guy has no idea what's going on!
Leading Soldier: The general said nothing about that to me. Perhaps Eddie's the one who lied?
Eddie: Pablo, we're in the middle of training. You must announce yourself before speaking.
Choice - Don't tell me General Will lied to me?
Leading Soldier: What are you saying, cretin? The general would lie to you?
Eddie: Pablo, this man is the training officer appointed by General Will. I hope you'll show him a little more respect.
Pablo: Oh? Is that so? Well I certainly haven't heard anything from the general. Maybe Eddie is lying?
Eddie: We're in the middle of training. You must announce yourself before speaking.
Choice - Oh, yeah! The general totally told me to help you! - 5 Intimacy
Leading Soldier: The two of you! Like a man and his parrot! Who do you think you're fooling?
Leading Soldier: Look at this joker's reaction! The general never had him come here, much less give a lecture!
Leading Soldier: Bah! Eddie's putting on a show!
Eddie: Pablo, we're in the middle of training. You must announce yourself before speaking.
Conversation continues after choices
Pablo walks up to Eddie
Pablo: (Speaking softly) 'We're in the middle of training. You must announce yourself before speaking.'
Pablo: Eddie, haven't you have food? Why do you sound so weak?
Soldiers: Hahahaha!
Player: (These ruffians are a real pain in the ass.)
Eddie: Now! Right now! Stand at attention!
Pablo: You? Are ordering me?
Pablo: Brothers, tell me: Why would General Will want me to give a lecture to a bunch of ignorant riffraff?
Pablo: Does this seem likely to you?
Some Soldier: Of course it doesn't. Because you're ignorant!
Player: You...
Eddie: (Low voice) Don't get angry. Let him speak.
Eddie: (Low voice) We'll never start our training if this isn't resolved.
Pablo: Then you all tell me-did anyone hear the general say Eddie's supposed to train us?
Some Soldier: No. Isn't that what Eddie himself said?
Some Soldier: Oh, I see. Then it has to be true, doesn't it?
Soldier in the Corner: Durer, what are you doing? The drill sergeant did not command you to rest. Stand at attention!
Durer: But Darry... I don't think anybody has confidence in Drill Sergeant Eddie...
Darry: Speak for yourself! If you have confidence in Eddie, then you need to stand at attention right now!
Zac: Listen to me for a moment, brothers.
Eddie: (Low voice) That's Zak, Vanguard of Light's deputy commander. He and Pablo are close.
Eddie: (Low voice) He's a very treacherous person. You'll want to keep your eye on him.
Zac: Actually, from the beginning, I've had the feeling something was wrong.
Zac: As Light of Purity's most elite squad, how could we need Eddie, a complete outsider, to train us?
Zac: Does that sound like something General Will would do?
Zac: Brothers, we all know how strong Pablo is.
Zac: Didn't Eddie lose to him in last year's combat competition?
Some Soldier: Yeah! Eddie's not qualified to train us!
Some Soldier: However, Eddie's a superior officer. His rank is even higher than Pablo's...
Pablo: Humph, who cares about rank? The weak training the strong-I've never heard such nonsense before!
Zac: Brothers, think about it. It's not just about combat strength...
Zac: In terms of experience, achievements, prestige, and courage, Pablo far outweighs Eddie!
Some Soldier: You're right. You're absolutely right. What right does Eddie have to train us?
Pablo: No. You must not talk lightly about achievement.
Pablo: Achievement is equivalent to how much one has done for his fellow soldiers.
Pablo: When it comes to achievement, I cannot match Eddie.
Zac: What are you talking about, bro? We're...
Pablo: What a disgrace. Have you forgotten everything the general has taught you?
Pablo: I may be stronger than him, but that does not mean I am better than him. We must be practical!
Player: (Seems like this Pablo isn't so hopeless after all.)
Zac: Yes! Brother's right!
Zac: Brothers, do you see how principled our big brother Pablo is? He is utterly without shortcoming!
Zac: Guys, it's pretty clear that Eddie is inferior to Pablo in any respect. So how could he accomplish more?
Pablo: Humph. Luck.
Zac: Just luck?
Zac: The way I see it, President Jonas is biased. Anytime he needs something done, he has them do it!
Zac: Look at us, the Light of Purity. Only one or two out of every ten of us even has a weapon!
Zac: Brothers, think about how you got here.
Zac: Think back. Before you had picked up your first sword, what kind of work were you doing?
Zac: Propaganda? Campaigning? Reception?
Zac: Shoveling crap? Sweeping stables?
Zac: You. You remember? You shoveled crap for six years before you got your first sword...
Some Soldier: Hey, Deputy. Why'd you have to bring that up? It's embarrassing...
Zac: At that moment, you thought you'd been given a new life.
Zac: Who knows, you're placed on guard, standing there killing time from day to day. Even with a sword, you can't slash anything!
Zac: And you. You remember how you got that sword?
Some Soldier: Deputy, please don't...
Some Soldier: Yes, that was a sad period in your life.
Pablo: Humph. Sad? It was a lot worse than sad.
Pablo: It's stupid! Simply stupid!
Pablo: Such stately, handsome men! Who of us doesn't want to go kill the enemy and achieve greatness!
Pablo: But dammit, no one gives us the chance
Zac: Brother, the Vanguard of Light is that chance!
Zac: General Will went to a lot of trouble to give us this chance. Joining this elite squad is our first step toward greatness!
Zac: Yet, Eddie, despicably and shamelessly, has taken it upon himself to issue a false order and claim to be our training officer!
Zac: Could his intentions be more obvious, brothers?
Zac: He is our training officer. He is supposed to lead us.
Zac: When we finally achieve something great, Eddie's going to take the credit!
Zac: And we will never have our day in the sun!
Zac: He'll never let us out from under his foot!
Some Soldier: How did this happen?! We cannot stand for it!
Some Soldier: The general worked hard to give us this opportunity. We can't let Eddie take it away!
Some Soldier: That's right! We can't let Eddie steal our thunder! We can't let him walk all over us!
Darry: Stand at attention! Do you believe that guy's lies?
Durer: Please don't... everyone's watching us.
Durer: You'd better not keep this up... Otherwise, you'll be branded a traitor...
Darry: Humph. Coward!
Some Soldier: That won't do! We represent the entire Light of Purity! We can't let Eddie push us around!
Zac: You think he's just trying to push us around?
Zac: No. No, it's not that simple. Brothers, this is just the first step of his plan!
Zac: Later, he'll take control of the Vanguard of Light, and then he'll even take over the Light of Purity!
Some Soldier: My God! I had no idea Eddie was so treacherous! What a hypocrite...
Some Soldier: Could it be that he was really just pretending before?
Some Soldier: There's so many of us. Why are you scared of him? Go get him!
Some Soldier: Yes, sir, Brother Pablo!
The discussion between the soldiers is getting more and more intense...
-Choice A - Why are you putting up with this, Eddie?
Eddie: What good would losing my temper do?
Eddie: In this situation, the more angry I get, the more they'll think Zac is right.
Eddie: We need to be more passive.
Choice A1.1 - You want me to beat them up a little bit?
Eddie: Not now. Hold on!
Eddie: I'm afraid this isn't as simple as you imagined.
Eddie: Wait for them to reveal more information, then I'll find our answer.
Player: How about I beat it out of him? I'll make him answer any question you ask.
Eddie: No way!
Eddie: You don't understand the depths of Zac's treachery. Do not fall into his trap.
Eddie: Besides, Pablo is the Light of Purity's best warrior. He's not only very strong, he's also got a great reputation among his troops.
Eddie: There're too many of them. If we make the first move, things will quickly get out of our control.
Choice A1.2 - Eddie, you've got the patience of a saint. - 5 Intimacy
Eddie: General Will values this squad very highly. I cannot let my mood affect the situation.
Player: But this guy's getting them all riled up. If we hesitate, we might miss our best chance to stop this.
Eddie: No, our best chance hasn't arrived yet.
Eddie: We still need them. Once more information is exposed, then I'll find our answer.

-Choice B - I'll teach them a lesson for you!
Conversation continues after choices
Player: But truth is on our side. Everything Zac says is a lie. I'm afraid of what he's trying to do.
Eddie: Let's just watch for now. We don't know if what he's saying are lies or not.
Player: No? Don't tell me you really did fake the letter...
Eddie: Of course not.
Eddie: But regardless of whether the letter from General Will made me the training officer, or if it just said for us to go help him, it's just a letter.
Eddie: Letters can be faked. Signatures can be imitated.
Eddie: Has it occurred to you that maybe Zac has a way to copy General Will's signature?
Player: My god... I feel like I've been caught up in a political conspiracy...
Eddie: I also never thought that the Light of Purity could conspire against me like this.
Eddie: It's almost enough to make you laugh.
Pablo angrily faces Eddie
Pablo: Eddie! I didn't know you had it in you!
Pablo: I've always thought of you as kind of weak and incompetent... but I never doubted your integrity!
Pablo: But you! You truly are despicable and shameless!
Pablo: Out of your own selfish interests, you're even willing to fake an order from General Will himself!
Pablo: What, are you just too lazy to defend yourself now?
Zac: Brother Pablo, please do not be rash.
Zac: Group Leader Eddie...
Pablo: You're still calling him group leader? Are you on his side?!
Zac: Uh, Eddie. Didn't you say General Will wrote you a letter? Maybe you'd better take it out...
Zac: If the letter is real, then you'll be clear of all charges!
Zac: If it turns out you're innocent, then I guarantee you everyone will give you an earnest apology!
Player: (Whisper) Eddie, don't give it to him!
Eddie: (Whisper) I know. The letter in my hands is his proof. If he gets his hands on it...
Eddie: (Whisper) Then it becomes the proof that can be used against us.
Eddie: (Whisper) Moreover, now I'm certain that these sealed letters were forged by Zac himself.
Player: (Whisper) But we don't have any proof. Just because we say we do, doesn't mean they'll believe us. What should we do?
Zac: What's wrong? Don't tell me you don't even have the letter?
Eddie steps forward
Darry: Captain Eddie!
Eddie: The righteous have nothing to fear from the shadows! I will go with you all. General Will will help clear this up.
Zac: Very good. However, the person next to you must come as well.
Player: (Whisper) If we go with them, who will look for the proof?
Eddie: (Whisper) This matter has nothing to do with you. They will not give you a hard time.
Eddie: (Whisper) The general will set you free. When the time comes, you need to hurry and find the person who forged his signature.
Choice - I don't think this plan is good enough.
Go to Part 2
Choice - All right. I'll go with you.
Will: You're leaving? Where are you going?
General Will walks out
Pablo: General!
Soldiers: General!
Will: You haven't given my soldiers a lecture, and you're already leaving?
Pablo: What?! Don't tell me they really are your...
Will: Tell him, Zac.
Go to Part 3

-Part 2
Player: (Whisper) I don't think this plan is good enough.
Player: (Whisper) If the person who forged General Will's handwriting has been silenced...
Player: (Whisper) If I can't find any proof, we won't be able to prove your innocence.
Eddie: (Whisper) *sighs*... then how do you want to deal with it?
Let me think first. Why would Zac want to forge a letter from General Will?
Choices start
-Choice A - To get revenge on Eddie.
No, that's not right. If he had a grudge against Eddie, Eddie would've told me sooner.
And in this situation, if there's any animosity, it's between Pablo and Eddie.
Go back to Choices start

-Choice B - To take down Eddie and help Pablo get promoted.
You're right. That's got to be it.
If a big ruckus erupted on Never Isle while General Will was away, it would have a major effect on Eddie's reputation.
And then, there wouldn't be anyone who would pose a threat to Pablo's status.
With Eddie out of the picture, Pablo would be the most likely to take over as leader of Light of Purity once General Will retired.
And Zac would follow Pablo as second in command of Light of Purity.
So do you think Pablo was a co-conspirator?
Choice B1.1 - Yes.
It doesn't seem very likely. Pablo may have his own opinions of Eddie, but he seems like a decent enough guy.
He doesn't seem like the kind of guy who'd get mixed up in intrigue.
(Choices repeat until you answer No)
Choice B1.2 - No.
But since Pablo had the most to gain, can we really eliminate all suspicion of him?
Choice B1.2.1 - Yes. Don't forget the other two letters!
Yeah it seems that Pablo has a great amount of respect for General Will.
He would not so easily question the general's orders.
That's the reason why Zac gave Eddie and me two different letters.
He wanted to poke a hole in our defense so that Pablo would have his doubts about Eddie.
Pablo likes to take the lead.
Even if they failed and there was no proof, the blame wouldn't fall on Zac.
This is the old 'drive the tiger to swallow the wolf' strategy. Oh, no. The 'drive the tiger to swallow the hawk' strategy.
Since this is the case, we need to prove Eddie's innocence!
This is the only way...
Choice B1.2.2 - Pablo likes to act without thinking.
Player: What should we do...
Conversation continues after choices
B-Choices start
-Choice B2.1 - If there's a will, there's a way. - 5 Intimacy
Player: Eddie, we...
Player: Run!
Eddie: What?!
Player: Run! Go to the Guardians! Let Mira deal with them!
Player: The only way you'll be able to find the evidence is if you run!
Eddie and Player begin to run away
Pablo: Stop right there, scum!
Zac: (Shout) Eddie's running away! Get him, brothers!
Will: Huh? We're doing running drills today?
General Will comes out and stops everyone
Pablo: General!
Will: Return to your posts.
Soldiers: Yes, General!
Pablo: General, these two guys...
Will: Huh? Are you not satisfied with the training officers I've selected?
Pablo: What?! Don't tell me they really are your...
Will: Tell him, Zac.
Go to Part 3

-Choice B2.2 - Actually, I faked the letter! - 8 Intimacy
Eddie: What are you talking about?
Pablo: I can see you truly value loyalty.
Pablo: But don't delude yourself into thinking you can help him. This has nothing to do with you.
Zac: That's right, young man. You'd better be careful what you say.
Zac: When Eddie faked the letter, it was about seizing power. But what are you scheming for?
-Choice B2.2.1 - Same as you. - 8 Intimacy
Zac: What are you talking about?
Player: If Eddie can use this kind of method to take over as training officer for Vanguard of Light...
Player: And yield positive results, he'll become Vanguard of Light's commander.
Player: And later on, it's possible he'll be able to take over for General Will and become Light of Purity's commander.
Player: And what will happen to me, then? I will become Light of Purity's second-in-command!
Player: Of course, second-in-command might not suit me. I'll just use Eddie for now and take care of that problem later.
Player: Moreover, Eddie is the one who benefits the most. If something happens, the doubt won't fall on me.
Player: In that way, Eddie will be both my weapon and my sword. He's a mere tool for me to get what I desire.
Player: How about it? Is that what you were thinking?
Zac: That would be very selfless of you. But why would you suddenly surrender?
Player: That's not like you.
Player: Because of my conscience. I can't bear to watch Training Officer Eddie and Pablo get used like this.
Player: However, there isn't anyone clever enough to expose my conspiracy. All I can do is willingly surrender.
Pablo: Why are you saying such strange things?
Will: Humph. You still don't understand why?
General Will walks out
Pablo: General!
Soldiers: General!
Pablo: What's this all about, General? Please enlighten me!
Will: Tell him, Zac.
Go to Part 4

-Choice B2.2.2 - To gain power indirectly. - 5 Intimacy
Player: Pablo, if Eddie can use this kind of method to take over as training officer for Vanguard of Light...
Player: And yield positive results, he'll become Vanguard of Light's commander.
Player: Then he'd be the next in line to command Light of Purity, not you.
Pablo: What are you talking about, damn you?
Player: And then what about me?
Player: As Eddie's friend, given that he is Vanguard of Light's training officer, I could obtain power for myself through him.
Player: And think. If I can use Eddie now, I'll probably be able to use him again in the future, too!
Pablo: You damned animal!
Pablo: You did not hesitate to frame your friend and sow discord within the Order of Equality, all for this!
Player: That's right. I did all of it! Take me away!
Pablo: Of course we're going to take you away!
Pablo: But before that, brothers, we must apologize to Eddie!
Pablo: I'm sorry, Eddie! I was wrong about you!
Zac: Wait, Brother Pablo. This...
Pablo: Shut up. You made a mistake so admit it! Apologize for framing Eddie!
Zac: *sighs*...
Will: Humph. Used like a tool and you didn't even know!
General Will walks out
Pablo: General!
Soldiers: General!
Pablo: This man's plan was truly despicable. Eddie was not able to see through it. Please...
Will: You think I was talking about Eddie?
Pablo: What's this all about? Please enlighten me!
Will: Tell him, Zac.
Go to Part 4

-Choice B2.2.3 - I'm not telling the likes of you.
Pablo: What are you talking about? Are you saying we're not qualified?!
Pablo: You forged General Will's letter and sowed discord within the Order of Equality!
Pablo: Damn you. I ought to get rid of you myself!
Eddie: Pablo, this has nothing to do with him. Your beef is with me!
Pablo: Both of you are up to no good! I'm going to deal with both of you!
Will: You dare make a move against the person I invited here?!
General Will walks out
Pablo: General!
Soldiers: General!
Pablo: General, don't tell me you really invited him to come here...
Will: Tell him, Zac.
Go to Part 3

-Choice B2.3 - Zac, you vile cretin! - 11 Intimacy
Player: You'd forge a letter from General Will just to take down Eddie?!
Zac: What are you playing at? Are you trying to shift the blame so you can get away?
Player: Still pretending? You've got a talent for it.
Player: Pablo, let me ask you this: who else but Eddie is a threat to you?
Pablo: What do you mean?
Player: If Eddie were to be framed for this, his reputation would plummet...
Player: Then after the general retires, who would become Light of Purity's captain?
Pablo: What are you accusing me of?!
Player: If you were to become captain, then Zac would hold the true power in Light of Purity!
Player: He'd manipulate you day after day until you were just a mere figurehead!
Zac: You'd better be careful what you say, young man.
Pablo: Zac, tell me what he's saying isn't true! You wouldn't treat me like that!
Zac: Don't tell me you're suspecting me now, Pablo?
Zac: When have I ever used such schemes? All I've ever done is help you. I've never used or hurt you in any way.
Zac: And I never will!
Pablo: I'm sorry, brother. I just got a little excited...
Player: Doesn't it hurt your conscience to tell these lies, Zac?
Player: If all you wanted to do was frame Eddie, the first letter would've been sufficient.
Player: There was no need to give us another totally contradictory letter.
Player: You only did it to make Pablo doubt Eddie and take the initiative in challenging him!
Player: That way, even if your plan failed, the blame wouldn't fall on you!
Player: Moreover, after several years, once the suspicions about Eddie had been cleared and people knew he'd been framed...
Player: You could use everyone's anger to your advantage and pull Pablo down, concealing the truth from the Light of Purity!
Zac: ... You've got a wild imagination.
Zac: But convictions aren't built on imagination. They're built on proof.
Zac: Do you have any proof?
Will: What, you think we can't find any?
General Will walks out
Pablo: General!
Soldiers: General!
Go to Part 4

-Choice B2.4 - Don't worry, everyone. A witness will come forward.
Pablo: Huh? What witness?
Player: There's a person who can verify that these letters were faked by Zac.
Pablo: What? Are you saying Zac did this?
Player: That's right. The witness is on his way here. Please wait, everybody. All will be settled soon.
Eddie: (Whisper) You really think stalling for time is going to work?
Player: (Whisper) Why not? We need time to come up with a way out of this.
Player: (Whisper) Besides, maybe we can scare him into revealing some more information!
Zac: Stalling for time? Surely you can come up with a better strategy than that.
Eddie: We've found a witness who says that you threatened them into forging General Will's handwriting.
Zac: Oh? Is that so? Then we'd better just wait with you.
Zac: I'd like to see just who this witness is.
-Choice B2.4.1 - You think he's already dead?
Zac: Oh? Now you're calling me a murderer?
Choice B2.4.1.1 - Those on the brink of death can be brought back with the power of Ka's healing. - 5 Intimacy
Zac: ...
Zac is silent. He seems to be thinking deeply about something.
Looks like he's already killed our witness...
Choice B2.4.1.2 - You'd better not be a murderer.
Zac: I have no idea what you're talking about, haha.
Choice B2.4.1.3 - I don't think you could kill someone even if you wanted to. - 5 Intimacy
Zac: ...
Zac is silent. He seems to be thinking deeply about something.
Is he thinking about how he killed our witness?
Choice B2.4.1.4 - You've never heard of people using fairy arcana to feign their own deaths? - 6 Intimacy
Zac: Fairy arcana? Feigning death?
Player: Heh heh! It's just some fairy arcana we have in our world. Of course you haven't heard of it.
Player: Fairy arcana is second only to the arcana of the gods. Basically, it's a kind of divine arcana.
Eddie: So you've had this kind of arcana all along. No wonder we thought you died fighting the shadows...
Eddie: Several hours later, you suddenly jumped to your feet without a scratch!
Player: Haha, if you hadn't brought this fairy arcana with you from your world, you'd probably have been killed by the shadows already!
Zac: ...
Zac appears to be a little nervous. I seem to be scaring him.
Player: (Whisper) I think it's working, Eddie!
Eddie: (Whisper) Don't get excited just yet. Our witness isn't going to come here on his own. We have to think of a way.
Player: (Whisper) Uh... let me think...

-Choice B2.4.2 - You think the dead can't talk?
Zac: Oh? I'm very interested in stories like these.
Zac: I wonder if you might do me the honor of telling me one.
Choice B2.4.2.A1 - Sorry. Not going to do you the honor.
Zac: Yeah? Then I'll just have to see if the witness you killed can speak.
Choice B2.4.21.A2 - Turing's machine can read the memories of the deceased. - 7 Intimacy
Eddie: (Whisper) Did Master Turing really invent a machine like that?
Player: (Whisper) Uh... not yet. But Zac doesn't know that...
Zac: I see. Well, I'm really looking forward to that, then.
Zac appears to be a little nervous. I seem to be scaring him.
Choice B2.4.2.A3 - President Vundo used Arcana to restore his memory. - 7 Intimacy
Eddie: (Whisper) Can President Vundo really use Arcana to do that?
Player: (Whisper) I don't think so. But Zac doesn't know that...
Zac: I see. Well, I'm really looking forward to that, then.
Zac appears to be a little nervous. I seem to be scaring him.
Choice B2.4.2.A4 - Have you heard of fairy arcana that can summon the souls of the departed? - 8 Intimacy
Zac: Fairy arcana? Summoning the souls of the departed??
Player: Heh heh! It's just some fairy arcana we have in our world. Of course you haven't heard of it.
Player: Fairy arcana is second only to the arcana of the gods. Basically, it's a kind of divine arcana.
Eddie: That's right, I once saw him use arcana to summon a soul. It was a villager who had been killed by the shadows.
Eddie: By communicating with the soul, we found the Order of the Shadow's stronghold and annihilated them!
Player: Haha, if you hadn't brought this fairy arcana with you from your world, you'd probably have been killed by the shadows already!
Zac: I see. Well, I'm really looking forward to seeing that arcana with my own eyes.
Zac sounded a little panicked just now. It looks like he's scared.
Conversation continues after choices
Pablo: The time for this nonsense is over! Where is this witness?!
Eddie: Be patient, Pablo. I said the witness is coming. He's coming.
Pablo: Humph! I'm getting tired of waiting!
Eddie: (Whisper) I don't think we can delay any longer. Have you thought of a way out of this?
-Choice B2.4.2.B1 - Uh... why don't we just run?
Eddie: (Whisper) I've thought it over, and this is all I came up with...
Player: (Whisper) Do you have any other ideas?
Eddie: (Whisper) No...
Player: (Whisper) See, you couldn't come up with anything either...
Pablo: Hey, how long do you plan to keep whispering like this? Do you have a witness or not?
Will: I've brought the witness here myself.
General Will walks out
Pablo: General!
Soldiers: General!
Go to Part 3

-Choice B2.4.2.B2 - I'll give myself up, you go find the witness.
Eddie: (Whisper) But this!
Player: (Whisper) This is the best option we've got right now!
Eddie: (Whisper) No. I won't let you put yourself in danger like that!
Player: (Whisper) Listen to me. It won't matter if I'm taken. As long as your reputation is intact...
Player: (Whisper) Zac's plan will fail!
Eddie: (Whisper) No. I'll never agree to this!
Pablo: Hey, how long do you plan to keep whispering like this? Do you have a witness or not?
Will: I've brought the witness here myself.
General Will walks out
Pablo: General!
Soldiers: General!
Go to Part 3

-Choice B2.4.2.B3 - Return the insult with righteousness!
Eddie: (Whisper) There's no point arguing with them here. It'd be better to go find General Will.
Player: (Whisper) No, you don't understand.
Player: (Whisper) No, we need to accuse him right now, in front of his friends!
Player: (Whisper) Because this way...

Eddie: (Whisper) All right. Since that's the plan, I'll let you talk first, and I'll just back you up.

General Will walks out
Pablo: General!

-Choice B2.4.2.B4 - Let's try Miles's method!
Eddie: (Whisper) Miles's way?
Player: (Whisper) That's right. Whenever Miles runs into problems like this, he's got a tried and true method for solving them.
Eddie: (Whisper) What's Miles's way
Player: (Whisper) Three words...
Player: (Whisper) Just do it!
Eddie: (Whisper) This is madness. Although Light of Purity's overall strength isn't that great, these guys are still their most elite squad.
Eddie: (Whisper) We don't have a winning strategy...
Player: (Whisper) Oh...
Pablo: Hey, how long do you plan to keep whispering like this? Do you have a witness or not?
Will: I've brought the witness here myself.
General Will walks out
Pablo: General!
Soldiers: General!

-Choice B2.4.2.B5 - Letters can be faked. So can witnesses! - 8 Intimacy
Eddie: (Whisper) What?! What are you doing?!
Player: (Whisper) The only way to beat someone who's crafty is to be even craftier.
Player: (Whisper) Write a fake letter and find someone who is good at forging handwriting so that we can falsify the evidence.
Player: (Whisper) You're much more popular than Zac and you've got a better reputation. When the time comes...
Player: (Whisper) Everyone will believe you.
Eddie: (Whisper) What are you talking about? Absolutely no way!
Eddie: (Whisper) If we do this, we'll be no different than Zac!
Eddie: (Whisper) One bad thing will be followed by another, followed by another, followed by another...
Eddie: (Whisper) No matter how small the misdeed is, we shouldn't do it!
Eddie: (Whisper) Not only that, we shouldn't even consider the possibility!
Choice B2.4.2.B5.1 - Good or bad, what counts are results! - 8 Intimacy

Player: (Whisper) If your conscience won't let you do it, then I'll do it.
Eddie: (Whisper) No. If this truly is the only way...
Eddie: (Whisper) I'd better do it.

Eddie: (Whisper) Great! You've finally come around.

-Choice B2.5 - Eddie, let's try Miles's way!

A strange man stands behind General Will
Zac: This isn't possible! This can't be!
Strange Man: General, sir! He was the one! He was the one who forced me to forge your signature!
Strange Man: Afterward, he was gonna kill me to keep me from talking!
Will: What is it you want to say, Zac?
Pablo: Zac...
Soldiers: It was Zac all along. No wonder. He's always been so treacherous...
Darry: I've been saying it all along. Eddie wouldn't do that kind of thing!
Zac: No... what's going on? Why are you here? Weren't you supposed to be handling the logistics in Elysiann?
Zac: And the two fake letters I wrote to Eddie are exactly the same as the real one...
Zac: You shouldn't have been able to figure it out before the plan came to fruition. And even if you had figured it out...
Zac: You shouldn't have gotten back so quickly!
Zac: Have you been here all along?
Will: That's right.
Zac: Everything that's been said here...
Will: I've heard with my own ears. I didn't miss a single word of it.
Will: Zac, your scheme was thorough, even astonishingly so.
Will: But in truth, you were doomed to fail from the very beginning.
Will: Because I was secretly trained in the art of forging signatures by none other than Headmaster Jonas.
Will: Nothing you've done could escape my attention.
Zac: I see... Everything I've planned has been flawed from the start.
Zac: Man proposes, but God disposes. Since this be the will of the gods, I willingly accept my punishment!
Zac: However, since the witness is still alive, a murder charge won't hold water. I can handle whatever comes my way.
Zac: In accordance with military regulations on punishment, I hereby ask the general to pardon me for my crimes!
Pablo: You! You're pissing me off!
Pablo: A man, cowering in fear, interested only in saving his own neck, is this what it looks like?
Pablo: If this is the kind of chicanery you decide to pull, I'll kill you myself!
Pablo: Is there no dignity left in this world?
Zac: You are a coward, Pablo.
Zac: No matter what, I will survive.
Zac: Imprisonment, torture, old age, total ridicule, revilement, even hatred... I will survive.
Zac: Because I still have purpose. I still have something to live for!
Vundo: Disgusting! I can't stand it anymore!
Eddie: Is that President Vundo's voice?
The strange man behind will transforms into Vundo
Zac: What?!
Vundo: You committed such a serious crime, and still you hold to your pompous, self-important pride!
Vundo: I've never seen someone as despicable as you before in my life!
Vundo: Now I can tell you. The person you killed is dead!
Vundo: You cannot escape from your crime!
Will: ... Not bad.
Zac: Hahaha, well done, Master Vundo! Your disguise had me fooled!
Zac: Since this truly appears to be the will of the gods, then if I must die, I must die.
Will: The will of the gods? You don't think you just chose the wrong opponent?
Will: You think you can scheme against me and win?
Zac: No, General. I am not at as much of a disadvantage as you might think!
Zac: Since I won't live through the night anyway, I might as well confess.
Zac: Of course, if the general really insists on this course of action...
Zac: All you need to do is give the order and Pablo will cut my throat.
Will: Might as well. Speak.
Vundo: Ah... uh... uh...
Vundo: I suddenly remembered that I have class.
Vundo: I'll leave this to you, General Will.
Will: As you wish, President.

Vundo: You'll find yourself way in over your head. You won't be able to handle it!
Vundo: For example, the situation just now. If General Will hadn't discovered the plot in time...
Vundo: You and Eddie would've been in deep.
Choice - Didn't you get mixed up in it, too?
Vundo: So what? General Will asked me to help him. How could I refuse him?
Vundo: I didn't want to get mixed up in it, either...
Player: Me, neither. But how could I refuse when I received General Will's letter?
Player: I still don't know if it was fake...
Vundo: Oh. All I'm saying is, don't get too involved.

Will: Slow down.
Will: You stay. I have something I want to say to you in a moment.
Player: Oh, okay.
Will: Zac, continue with what you were saying.
Zac: General, do you have any idea what other people are saying about you?
Zac: They say you're incompetent. That all you know how to do is put on a show. That...
Pablo: That's enough! Stop talking!
Will: Huh? Did I tell you that you could speak?
Pablo: Yes... General.
Zac: They said you... they said you have been leading the Light of Purity for fifteen whole years...
Player: Pablo and Zac are starting to get emotional.
Zac: They said you're a do-nothing in a do-nothing position.
Zac: They said you took a perfectly functional military organization and turned it into a lazy, incompetent...
Zac: Nursing home!
Zac: They say that Jonas propped you up as some kind of superstar, but that in truth you're utterly incompetent!
Pablo: General, I'm begging you. Don't let him say...
Will: No. Let him speak.
Will: You have an obligation to know what he's going to say.
Pablo: But everything he said is untrue!
Zac: That's right, they don't know anything!
Zac: They've never seen the underwear covered in patches that you wear beneath your glorious military uniform. But we have!
Zac: They've never seen you poring over maps of ancient battlefields, but we have!
Zac: General, when it comes to Gyee, the most talented commander there is isn't on the Oathblades and he isn't on the Guardians.
Zac: He is the commander of our so-called 'nursing home'.
Zac: He is the founder of this 'nursing home,' and the person responsible for who we are today!
Zac: That person is you, General!
Zac: I've read your writings, 'On Training Ancient Generals' and 'Strategies for Reforming the Light of Purity'.
Zac: These two books were extremely profound. I found them astonishing.
Zac: However, they come to completely different conclusions!
Zac: In your summary article, you wrote about a lot of large-scale forces being trained in short periods of time.
Zac: You also wrote some notes detailing improvements...
Zac: However, in your military reform strategy, I haven't seen a single word about the large-scale training program!
Will: The comprehensive military strength of Light of Purity will remain weak forever. I've told you this before.
Player: (Whisper) Eh? Remain weak? Why is that?
Eddie: (Whisper) *sighs*... if the world's wealthiest people also have the strongest armies...
Eddie: (Whisper) Tell me, what are others supposed to think?
Eddie: (Whisper) No one wants to see this kind of thing happen, even Headmaster Jonas himself...
Player: (Whisper) I see... Could it be that General Will is helpless to do anything about it?
Will: It is precisely for this reason that I need you all. I need Vanguard of Light to become even more elite!
Will: But you've left me very disappointed.
Zac: Strategic failure will thwart even successful tactics.'
Zac: No problems can be solved until the core problem is solved.'
Zac: This is what you taught me, General.
Zac: You understand this well, don't you?
Zac: The thing that you and Eddie were unable to do, even unwilling to think about!
Zac: That thing... It will solve the core problems of the Light of Purity!
Zac: Pablo and I can do it!
Will: Shut up!
Will: Zac, I have shown you too much leniency.
Will: Die with some dignity.
Will: Do it...
Two soldiers walk up and grab Zac's arms
Zac: ... Take care, General.
Zac: General, one more thing I wanted to ask you...
Zac: Are you really willing to spend the rest of your life like a sleeping lion in a cage?
The two soldiers take Zac away
Player: (If I'm not mistaken, Zac's final objective was to get the Light of Purity to leave the Order of Equality...)
Player: (General Will clearly understood that this was Zac's plan, but he still let him say it aloud in front of Eddie and me...)
Player: (It's hard to guess at what goes on in the minds of great men...)
Will: Pablo, you put faith in unsubstantiated rumors and disturbed military order. You are sentenced to fifty floggings. You shall be graced with the whip once training is complete.
Pablo: Yes, General!
Will: Did you finish reading the books Zac picked out for you?
Pablo: Yeah like...
Will: Read them as you recuperate. Don't skip a single word!
Pablo: Yes, General!
Will: Darry, when the other soldiers wavered, you were the only one to follow orders, maintain discipline, and understand the difference between right and wrong.
Will: I hereby appoint you as Deputy Captain of the Vanguard of Light.
Darry: Yes, General!
Will: Durer, you have disappointed me the most.
Will: You are indecisive, cowardly, and lacking in judgment. How could I count on you to fight the Shadows?
Durer: General...
Will: Go home. The Vanguard of Light will not tolerate cowards.
Durer: B... but, General...
Will: I'm not going to say it again.
Durer: Yes, General...
Durer walks away
Will: Eddie, you did well. You were unwavering and calm in the face of danger. This is a fundamental quality of any outstanding officer.
Will: But you must not be too old-fashioned in your thinking when solving problems.
Will: You have a good friend there. You could learn from him.
Eddie: Yes, General.
Player: You flatter me, General...
Will: No. Your performance today has given me a newfound respect for you.
Will: Just a moment ago, I mentioned that there was something I wanted to tell you. If you've got the time, let's take a walk and have a talk.
Will: Everyone else, continue with your training as normal.
General Will pulls Player aside
If you said "Actually, I faked the letter!"
Will: By giving himself up, he protects Eddie's reputation.
Will: It shows that you are able to quickly determine an enemy's objective and find a direct and unique solution to stop them.
Will: Kid, you're pretty cunning.
Will: Even more adept was how you figured out Zac's true intentions and turn them to your own ends.
Will: So much so that you earned Pablo and the other soldiers' respect and swayed their thinking.
Will: It seems I have not made an error in judgment.
Player: Uh...
Will: Haha. There's no one else here, and you are not my subordinate.
Will: We're just chatting like a couple of friends. There's no need to restrain yourself.
If you said "Zac, you vile cretin!"
Will: In a short period of time, you were able to determine your enemy's intentions and determine a direct and effective strategy to deal with them.
Will: You clearly laid out Zac's motives in a convincing way.
Will: You helped plant the seeds of doubt about Zac in the minds of the officers and soldiers.
Will: Not bad. You have an adept mind, and are admirably eloquent.
Choice - You are too kind, General.
Will: You do not need to be so polite. There's no one else here, and you are not my subordinate.
Will: We're just chatting like a couple of friends.
Choice - Actually, I was just trying to deflate tensions... - 5 Intimacy
Will: Hahaha! What honesty! Good!
If you said "Letters can be faked. So can witnesses!" > "Good or bad, what counts are results!"
Will: 'Whatever one's intentions, if the righteous fall to the wicked, it only helps the wicked!'
Will: 'If you know what it takes to defeat evil but you don't have the courage to do it, then evil defeats good...'
Will: 'What else could this be, if not the accomplice of evil?'
Will: The last time I heard someone talk like that, it was seven years ago when Headmaster Jonas was giving us a lecture...
Will: It's a bit surprising for someone so young to have that kind of understanding and courage.
Will: Furthermore, your plan was impeccable. Even if I was not there today, I believe you still would have solved this issue.
Will: What I admire the most is that your strategy was not selfish. You were trying to help your friends. This is even more commendable.
Will: It seems I have not made an error in judgment.
Player: General... did you hear everything?
Will: I came prepared. I had to use some unusual methods to uncover Zac's conspiracy.
Will: If I've offended you in any way, I apologize.
Player: Oh, no. That's not necessary.
Will: You do not need to be so polite. There's no one else here, and you are not my subordinate.
Will: We're just chatting like a couple of friends.
If you said "Letters can be faked. So can witnesses!" > "I'm sorry, you're right..."
Will: You know how to make judgments, stall for time, and come up with a brilliant plan in such a short amount of time.
Will: Very good. You've clearly got an agile and intelligent mind.
Will: But what I especially admire is that you and Eddie were both willing to abandon the plan.
Will: You should know that in such circumstances, giving up a plan can take more courage than implementing it.
Will: And failure can be more noble than success.
Conversation continues
Will: You seem to still have some questions about this situation.
Will: Ask away. I can't divulge classified secrets, but everything else I'll be happy to share.
Player: Thank you general. I do have some questions.
Choices start
-Choice A - About Zac and Pablo...
Player: I used to think that Zac wanted to use Pablo, but now I'm not so sure.
Will: Mm. He did want to help, or should I say, assist Pablo.
Will: You think that the reason Zac gave you and Eddie two different letters...
Will: Is so that Pablo would take the initiative, and thus Zac could escape all responsibility?
Player: Yes, if that wasn't the case, then wouldn't it have been sufficient to just write one fake letter to Eddie?
Player: Why even get me involved?
Will: Pablo is unquestioningly loyal to me.
Will: If it weren't for the two contradictory letters, he would never have doubted my orders.
Will: Even if Zac had taken sides against Eddie, Pablo would have stood with Eddie.
Will: Zac himself didn't have enough prestige, so in order to succeed, he needed to use this method to get Pablo's help.
Go back to Choices start

-Choice B - About Zac's last words...
Will: Not bad. You guessed right.
Will: He tried to persuade me to leave the Order of Equality.
Will: If the Light of Purity left the Order of Equality, our military strength would grow immensely.
Will: Funding would be a little tight, however.
Will: So what do you think? Should we leave the Order of Equality?
Player: (No... But aside from 'You shouldn't,' or 'I don't know,' how else can I answer?)
Will: Don't be nervous. It's not like I'm going to act on your advice alone. Just speak your mind.
Will: How about this? I'll rephrase the question: If you were in this position, what would you do?
Choice B.1 - I would leave.
Will: Oh? Why's that?
Choice B.1.1 - It's an unnecessary constraint.
Will: You seem to be thinking on my behalf.
Will: However, to live to be this age and to sit in my position...
Will: My own feelings are of secondary importance.
Go back to Choices start
Choice B.1.2 - Military power is more necessary than ever now. - 5 Intimacy
Will: Yes. Jonas and I have been monitoring the movement of the shadows for several years now.
Will: Your understanding of the big picture is on point. Military power is indeed more necessary than ever.
Will: But I'd still like to find a more dependable solution.
Will: After all, the shadows are cunning. If increasing military might comes at the expense of unity, then what we'd lose would exceed what we'd gain.
Go back to Choices start
Choice B.2 - I wouldn't leave.
Will: Oh? Why's that?
Choice B.2.1 - It is important to behave with integrity and show gratitude to your friends. - 8 Intimacy
Will: It seems I have not made an error in judgment.

Choice B.2.2 - I hear President Jonas has many tricks up his sleeve... - 5 Intimacy
Will: Haha, so you fear there would be retribution and plotting against us?
Player: Y... yeah...
Will: Hahaha. Good, you're very honest and very pragmatic. I admire that about you!
Go back to Choices start
Choice B.2.3 - Because... I just couldn't bring myself to do it. - 5 Intimacy
Will: If you couldn't bring yourself to do it, all you can do is hesitate. And to hesitate is to preserve the status quo, correct?
Player: Yeah...
Will: I'm ashamed to admit it, but that's the situation I find myself in now.
Go back to Choices start
Choice B.3 - I would pretend to leave. - 5 Intimacy
Will: And afterward? Abandon the pretense?
Will: Or turn the pretense into reality?

Will: Your thinking is quite similar to Jonas's.

-Choice C - You seemed to really like Zac?
Will: I'm ashamed to admit, I originally thought...
Will: I originally thought I would make him the Light of Purity's staff officer.
Will: That would've been a blunder...
Will: His personality was too treacherous and unscrupulous for that purpose...
Will: But I knew that.
Will: Truth is, I gave him too many chances.
Will: Actually, if I'd shown myself as soon as you had arrived, he wouldn't have said a word.
Will: Then his plan would've worked, and he wouldn't have died.
Will: But I didn't. I stayed inside, and though I was restless, I didn't come out.
Will: I gave him too many chances. And these chances didn't change his personality.
Will: Instead they only let his strategy become more mature, more meticulous, and more vicious...
General Will inhaled through his nose...
Will: Haha, it's been a while since I've come to the island. It's still very windy!
Go back to Choices start

-Choice D - Was the witness that was killed really trained by Headmaster Jonas? - 5 Intimacy
Will: Oh?
Player: It seems you only need to teach one individual to forge handwriting and keep him close.
Player: Moreover, since you would know in advance, you wouldn't let him get killed.
Will: Astute! Very Astute!
Will: You're right. He wasn't one of Jonas's people.
Player: Then how did you discover his conspiracy?
Will: Actually, the day he changed letters, the soldier who was to deliver the letters was suffering from insomnia and wasn't really asleep.
Will: The soldier who was to deliver the letters discovered this matter and immediately brought it to my attention.
Will: Seems to have been the will of providence...
Player: Then why didn't you come out with the truth?
Will: Because until President Vundo dispelled the arcana disguise, I still hadn't made a decision.
Player: You still hadn't made a decision? You mean whether to execute him?
Will: Yes. Also, your guess was somewhat wrong.
Will: Jonas trained as many as twenty people to forge handwriting.
Will: And nineteen of those he didn't even keep close by.
Player: W... what?!
Will: Master Jonas has been very clear that these nineteen people have been assigned to major figures and have helped forge letters.
Player: General... why are you telling me this? Are you sure I should know?
Will: It doesn't matter. There are many people on this island who are aware of this.
Will: Because none of the people these forgers are assigned to are Gyee.
Go back to Choices start

-Choice E - Zac said the content of the fake letter was the same as the real one.
Will: Not bad. I wanted to ask you to help Eddie train them and give them a lecture.
Player: Me?
Will: You don't need to act modest. You have experience fighting the shadows. Perhaps even a lot more than I have.
Will: The Vanguard of Light is very important to me. I need someone who has shown outstanding performance, wisdom, courage, someone who has made rapid progress...
Will: I need a someone who understands the shadows to help guide the younger Gyee... to encourage them and urge them on.
Will: And I'm not satisfied with Eddie, Miles, or Mira.
Will: Yan is quite impressive, but Shadowhunters often have difficult missions that they can't get away from.
Will: So you're the only candidate left.
Will: Even though you're not a Gyee, the people of Never Isle do not look at you as an outsider.
Will: Of course, I still need to know whether you'd be willing to accept such a responsibility.
Will: You don't need to decide right now. Think it over, and send me your response in a letter.
Player: Ok.
