Intro[]
It was a miracle!
We were attacked by Shadowbeasts that night, and they outnumbered us significantly. Our formation was broken quickly, and we scattered. Our companions were found and killed, their screams reverberated throughout the night. The Shadows quickly found out, but a large figure appeared before me just when I thought my time was up.
His skin was as dark as the night, and I wouldn't have seen him if he weren't so close. He was bigger than a Furry Shieldguard with heavy armor, too. At first, I thought it was a Shadowbeast coming to kill me, but he bent down and checked my wounds, and that's when I realized it was a Furry Gyee.
I thought I was saved, but the Shadows converging on us quickly dashed my hope. They surrounded us, and I was going to cover him to help him escape, but he shielded me and raised his weapon.
'Don't stray too far from me, my light will eradicate all evil!'
The flux nearby converged on him, and turned his weapon into a giant sword. He swung the sword and the light exploded. I have never seen such... pure light, as if it's trying to undo all of the darkness. Hundreds of Shadowbeasts died in the light.
When I came to, my wounds were healed, and he disappeared into the night.

Consolation Letter[]
I don't know if you remember me. I am Osiris, Lord Rehoboam's bodyguard.
First, I'd like to thank you for your help in Elysiann. Thanks to you, Lord Rehoboam has recovered. Your help meant a lot to me, because Lord Rehoboam saved me. I will do everything I can to repay you. I heard from Lord Rehoboam that you have been investigating something. I may not have the brains, but I have the strength to protect you and to eliminate evil. I also know a little about tracking, and I have great ears, so maybe I can help.
If you think I might be of help, please let me know. I would be honored to serve you.

Disappearing Light
- A man runs through the darkness, trying to escape
- ???: Huff, puff...
- ???: I need to get out of here...
- ???: And tell everything... Everything that happened here...
- ????: Stop him! Don't let him get away!
- ???: Uh...
- ???: Focus, focus...
- ????: We got him!
- ????: Just in time! Attack from both sides, kill him and take the data!
- ???: Uhhhh, no, don't...
- ???: No...
- ???: Get out of my way!
- ???: Rrragh!
- The light of the forest breaks through the dark corridor as the man heads for the exit
- As he exits, the first thing he looks at is the clear blue skies
- ???: Huff, puff...
- ???: Phew...
- ???: Huff...
- Threatening Voice: Who's there?
- ???: Hm?
- The man's view lowers from the sky to straight ahead where he spots three White Capes Soldiers
- ???: It's the Sword of Light...
- ???: Brothers... Listen to me...
- The man begins to approach
- White Capes Soldier: Don't come any closer!
- They ready their swords
- ???: Put that down, it's me.
- ???: I found a... Shadow.
- Suddenly, the man collapses
- ????: Target is dead.
- ????: The troops from the Sword of Light killed him.
- ????: Ha! I bet he didn't think he'd die at the hands of his own soldiers.
- ????: An inevitable ending.
- ????: To be safe, I will take care of the person from the Sword of Light...
- ????: Everything...
- ????: For the Shadowlord!
- Two months later, Elysiann...
- Player and Eddie talk outside of the Elysiann branch of the Order of Equality
- Eddie: Here's the outstanding balance...
- Eddie: And this marks the completion of the job from the Order of Equality.
- Eddie: Thank you for your help, Player.
- Player: You're welcome!
- Player: Just let me know whenever you need help.
- Eddie: Sure.
- An Order of Equality director finds Eddie
- Order of Equality Director: Eddie, a new order just came from Never Isle...
- Eddie: Oh?
- Order of Equality Director: (Looks at you.)
- Eddie: You can say it, Player is one of us.
- Order of Equality Director: ...
- Order of Equality Director: Is there any progress on what Jonas asked you to investigate earlier?
- Eddie: Uh...
- Eddie: Still looking, so I don't have any leads yet.
- Order of Equality Director: I see...
- Order of Equality Director: Jonas takes this particular matter very seriously...
- Order of Equality Director: And he'd like to see results soon.
- Eddie: ...
- Order of Equality Director: I have other things to take care of. Farewell, gentlemen.
- The director leaves
- Player: Something that came from Jonas directly?
- Player: Must be confidential. I won't ask more questions.
- Eddie: No, not confidential at all.
- Eddie: It's something strange that's been bothering Jonas...
- Player: Something strange?
- Eddie: For the past few months, White Cape soldiers would disappear out of nowhere.
- Eddie: And their bodies couldn't be found, either. It was like they literally vaporized.
- Player: I think Miles was talking about it, too.
- Player: But they were kind of happy about it, because they thought it was karma.
- Eddie: That's the problem...
- Eddie: If it's not the Oathblades, who did it?
- Player: Hmmm.
- Player: Maybe a secret Gyee organization that hates the White Capes...
- Player: That's been fighting the White Capes with guerrilla warfare?
- Eddie: That's what I thought at first, too.
- Eddie: But Jonas doesn't think so.
- Eddie: If it's a Gyee organization, why not contact Never Isle?
- Eddie: If they didn't want to work with the Order of Equality, how about the Oathblades?
- Eddie: And then the disappearances are in just about every district.
- Eddie: The only ones with this kind of mobility are the Shadowhunters, us, and the Shadows...
- Eddie: We can ignore the Shadowhunters, and Shadows don't attack the White Capes.
- Player: You have a point.
- Eddie: Jonas thinks there's some kind of conspiracy behind this, so he asked me to investigate it secretly.
- Eddie: But I don't have any leads right now.
- Player: This does sound kind of fishy.
- Player: I'll keep an eye out, and let you know if I notice anything.
- Eddie: Thanks, Player. Sorry about the trouble...
- Player: Don't mention it, really.
- A few moments later...
- Player, Billy and Kitty stand in a long line for the fishmonger
- Kitty: Almost at the top of the line!
- Kitty: I'm super excited that Player is in line with Billy and I to buy fresh fish.
- Player: Hmmm.
- Player: (The White Cape disappearances...)
- Player: (Why them? What's so special about them?)
- Billy: One per person, and there are three of us, so we can buy three portions!
- Player: (Let's forget about this for now.)
- Player: You love fish, right?
- Kitty: Mmhmm.
- Billy: I'm curious about something, though.
- Billy: There are tens of shops that sell fish in Elysiann, why is everyone lining up for this one?
- Kitty: Ha-ha!
- Kitty: That's because the owner of this shop has their own boat, and catches fish on their own.
- Kitty: They only return to Elysiann once every three months.
- Billy: That's nothing new, though. Elysiann is near the mouth of the Elysian River, and there are plenty of fishing boats.
- Kitty: Hold on, let me finish.
- Kitty: There are plenty of fishing boats, yes. But when it comes to the heavy duty kind that the owner has, there is only one.
- Kitty: And an especially delicious deep sea fish only shows up in the large boat's range two months out of every year.
- Kitty: So this shop only sells this particular fish right around this time every year.
- Billy: Oh, so that's why there's a purchase limit.
- Kitty: Exactly.
- Player: I think I've heard of the fish you just mentioned.
- Player: I've seen it at Eversun or the Red Harbor.
- Kitty: Yes, but those markets are not regulated, and many of the stalls lie to their customers.
- Kitty: Since you can't tell the difference after they've been frozen...
- Kitty: I've fallen for the trap before, paid huge bucks but got some other fish instead.
- Kitty: Just thinking about it makes me angry!
- Billy: Anyway, you can be sure that this shop is the real deal.
- Player: I see...
- Player: It's fresh, and it's guaranteed to be the real thing.
- Player: Hm?
- Billy: Captain?
- Player: The fish from this shop is guaranteed to be fresh deep sea fish.
- Kitty: What is it?
- Player: White Cape soldiers are also guaranteed to be ordinary humans, right?
- Billy: Of course. No Gyees would want to join them, anyway.
- Kitty: I even heard that they have devices for testing Gyees.
- Player: Devices for testing Gyees?
- Kitty: Yes, Vundo mentioned it before. Something about if a human's ability to control flux? If it goes above a certain value, then they determine that you're a Gyee.
- Kitty: I heard it's ninety-nine percent accurate!
- Player: We can't tell if someone is Gyee or not from their appearances.
- Kitty: Unless they're Furry Gyees.
- Kitty: And other than the golden light in their eyes when they control a huge amount of flux...
- Kitty: They look pretty much like ordinary humans.
- Billy: Why are you talking about the White Capes all of a sudden?
- Player: White Cape soldiers have been disappearing for no reason in recent months.
- Kitty: Isn't that a good thing?
- Kitty: The fewer there are, the better!
- Player: I hope so, too.
- Player: But it looks like someone is looking for ordinary humans. Something about this is fishy!
- Kitty: A conspiracy?
- Player's talk begins to make some of the other patrons standing in line uncomfortable
- Player: Uh...
- Player: (Low voice) It's all speculation for now, let's not startle the people.
- Kitty: (Low voice) S-Sorry...
- Billy: Let's stay in line. If we pay enough attention, I'm sure we'll spot a clue or two.
- Kitty: All... All right!
- Player: (smiles)
- Player: ...
- You suddenly sense a strange but extremely powerful flux.
- The burst is followed by a loud explosion
- Player: Hm?
- Billy: That sound...
- Kitty: An explosion.
- Three soldiers from the Elysiann Army come to talk to the people in the market
- Elysiann Army: The eastern ramparts of Elysiann just collapsed.
- Elysiann Army: Soldiers of the Elysiann Army are on their way to handle this, please don't worry.
- Kitty: The ramparts collapsed?
- Billy: (Low voice) Captain, in addition to bricks falling from the collapse...
- Player: (Low voice) Yes, the sound of flux explosions.
- Player: (Low voice) I sensed something...
- Billy: (Low voice) Could this be related to the disappearances?
- Player: ...
- Player: Stay in line, I'll go take a look!
- Player runs off
- Kitty: Player!
- A few moments later, Eastern Elysiann...
- Player tries enter the eastern ramparts but is stopped by two soldiers
- Elysiann Army: Stop! The ramparts ahead just collapsed, and it's very dangerous.
- Player: (This is as far as I can go...)
- Player: (I can't be at the scene, but I can feel traces of the flux.)
- Player: (The power feels ridiculously strong. The user wasn't even trying to hide anything.)
- Player: Hmmm.
- Player looks around
- Player: (At least the area is empty save for a few warehouses, and no one lives out here.)
- Player: (The explosion was powerful, but no civilians were hurt.)
- Player: (The commotion, however...)
- Player: (What for?)
- (You feel a great power behind you.)
- Player: Hm?
- Player begins to scan the crowd that gathered to see the damage
- Player: (This power... The person that blew up the ramparts!)
- Player: (Are they near?)
- Player: (It disappeared.)
- Player: (What do they want?)
- Player: (Could it be that... The explosion was just a way to distract the Elysiann Army?)
- Player: (I have to find them!)
- A few moments later...
- Player searches the area but can't find the culprit
- Player: I might have lost them.
- Player: Or maybe they are concealing their powers?
- A thick and calm voice: Excuse me...
- Player: Yes?
- Player: !!!
- Player turns around to see a giant Furry Gyee towering over him
- Player can't miss his bulging muscles, the lion's mane or the dark fur that covers him
- Giant Furry Gyee: Sorry, I mean no harm...
- Giant Furry Gyee: I didn't mean to scare you.
- Player: N-No, you didn't...
- Player: But you're... huge. Your muscles...
- Giant Furry Gyee: ?
- Player: Never mind. How can I help you?
- Giant Furry Gyee: Are there pharmacies nearby?
- Giant Furry Gyee: My friend is sick, and only big cities like Elysiann has the medicine he needs.
- Player: Go straight, turn left, and it's the third shop on your right.
- Giant Furry Gyee: Thank you so much!
- The furry Gyee leaves
- Player: He looks massive.
- Player: Even among the Furry Gyees, he'd be on the bigger side.
- Player: And his skin is as dark as the night.
- Player: I've never seen an ebony Furry Gyee before. He's probably not from here.
- Player: I have to find the culprit that blew a hole in the ramparts first!
- A while later, on the streets of Elysiann...
- Player: No traces of them.
- Player: I guess I can only sense them when they handle flux.
- Player: But if that's the case, then at the collapsed ramparts just now...
- Multiple Elysiann Army soldiers run past
- Elysiann Army: This way!
- Player: Um, what happened?
- Elysiann Army: There's a Shadow in Elysiann! Attack!
- Player: What? A Shadow?
- Player: But I didn't sense any Shadow flux.
- Billy: Captain!
- Billy and Kitty find Player
- Player: Billy? Kitty? What are you doing here?
- Kitty: You never came back.
- Billy: If this is related to the White Cape disappearances...
- Billy: Then you might be in danger!
- Kitty: So we came.
- Player: (smiles)
- Player: Right on time.
- Player: The Elysiann Army is rallying in the direction that you came from. They said they spotted a Shadow.
- Player: Do you know anything about that?
- Billy: Something about a Shadow robbing a pharmacy...
- Billy: But when we passed by, our arcana detector didn't detect any Shadow Flux.
- Kitty: I did see a huge shadow running away from the pharmacy!
- Billy: But there was no Shadow Flux! Maybe just a very large bandit?
- Player: Pharmacy... Dark Shadows... Big guy...
- Player: So you mean...
- Player: (But asking a pedestrian about where he was going to rob?)
- Player: (He blew a hole in the ramparts of the city just so he can rob a pharmacy?)
- Player: (Or, the robbery has nothing to do with the ramparts?)
- Player: (This is getting more complicated by the second. I won't do anything differently, then.)
- Kitty: Did something come to mind, Player?
- Player: According to how the Elysiann Army deals with Shadows, the port and the city gates should be locked.
- Player: The main contingent is guarding the pharmacy and the ruins of the eastern fortifications, and that makes the rest of them a little weaker than usual.
- Player: We should start where the defenses are the weakest. Be on your guard and look for suspicious people.
- Kitty: Understood!
- The three split up to investigate
- A few moments later...
- Player: No one suspicious, and no traces of the power.
- Player talks to his communicator crystal
- Player: How about you, Billy and Kitty?
- Arcana Communicator Crystal: Billy here. The detector isn't showing anything out of the ordinary. No Shadow Flux, either!
- Arcana Communicator Crystal: Kitty here. Looking down from the roof, but I don't see anyone acting suspiciously...
- Player: ...
- Player: That sounds dangerous. Stay safe!
- Arcana Communicator Crystal: Don't forget who you're talking go! I'm a frequent visitor of the Arcana Academy's spire!
- You notice Kitty waving at you from the top of a building further away.
- Player: Alright...
- Player: If we don't spot anyone suspicious in the next two minutes, we'll go to another point.
- Arcana Communicator Crystal: Got it, Captain!
- Arcana Communicator Crystal: Kitty, do you copy... Oh no!
- You see Kitty stumble and fall off from the roof.
- Player: Kitty!
- Suddenly you sense a huge flux wave.
- The power feels identical to the last two times this happened.
- Player: That's them!
- Player: !!
- You see a silhouette leap into the air and catch Kitty.
- A few moments later...
- Player runs to the building Kitty was at
- Billy and the giant Furry Gyee from earlier are watching over an unconscious Kitty
- Player: Kitty!
- Giant Furry Gyee: Don't worry, he just passed out. He'll wake up soon enough.
- Billy: Thank you for saving Kitty, sir.
- Player: Careful, Billy...
- Player: He's the one that blew the ramparts!
- Billy: What?
- Giant Furry Gyee: ...
- Giant Furry Gyee: Yes, but I had to do it. There was no other way.
- Player: Who are you? Why are you in Elysiann?
- Giant Furry Gyee: I...
- Kitty: Umm...
- Kitty wakes up
- Kitty: I remember... I was trying to...
- Kitty: Uh...
- The Furry Gyee checks on Kitty
- Giant Furry Gyee: I...
- Kitty: Ahhhhhh!
- The sight of the giant Furry Gyee surprises Kitty just as the Elysiann Army comes to investigate the huge flux wave
- Elysiann Army: Um, what happened?
- Elysiann Army: That's...
- Elysiann Army: Sir, target shadow has been sighted!
- Elysiann Army: Go after it, don't let it run away!
- Everyone turns to look at the giant Furry Gyee
- Kitty: Scary!
- Giant Furry Gyee: ...
- Giant Furry Gyee: Uh...
- Player: What are you and the Shadows planning?
- Giant Furry Gyee: ...
- Elysiann Army: Attack!
- The giant Furry Gyee quickly rushes to Player
- Player: !!
- Billy: Hey, what are you doing?
- Player: (Motions for Billy to stop)
- The large Furry Gyee stuffs a package in your hands...
- Giant Furry Gyee: I'm not a Shadow, and I have nothing to do with them.
- Giant Furry Gyee: My friend is sick, and he needs this medicine.
- Player: !!
- Giant Furry Gyee: Let's go!
- The Elysiann Army converges on the group
- Giant Furry Gyee: I surrender!
- Elysiann Army: What?!
- Elysiann Army: Let the hostages go first.
- Giant Furry Gyee: They're not my hostages, and they have the freedom to come and go whenever they want.
- Giant Furry Gyee: (Low voice) Go, don't get mixed up in this.
- Giant Furry Gyee: (Low voice) Please, deliver the medicine...
- Player: Billy, give Kitty a hand.
- Player: He's telling the truth! He did not hurt us!
- Elysiann Army: In the name of the Elysiann Executor, you are under arrest.
- Giant Furry Gyee: ...
- A few moments later...
- Kitty: Huff, puff...
- Billy: Are you feeling better, Kitty?
- Kitty: Was that... really a Gyee?
- Billy: You fell from the roof of a building. You'd be dead if he didn't catch you.
- Kitty: I'd rather that I fell...
- Player: Don't say that. It doesn't matter who he was or what he wanted, he saved your life.
- Billy: What was he saying to you when he approached you just now?
- Player: (Takes out the package) He gave me this.
- Kitty: B-Bomb...
- Player: Shush!
- Player: I checked, the package contained some medicine, and a map.
- Player: The marked location is where he lives, or where his friend is.
- Kitty: You can't be serious about going, Player! This is a trap!
- Billy: Captain, I think the medicine is extremely important.
- Player: Let's just go and see what happens.
- Player: Billy, get the airship ready. We're going forty kilometers to the northwest!
- Billy: Sure!
- A while later, Elysiann's northwestern jungle...
- Player: Did you find anything?
- Kitty: Nothing so far.
- Billy: The detector is working as intended.
- Billy: This should be the marked location on the map.
- Billy: But there's nothing here.
- Player: Hmm...
- Player: I sense very faint traces of Arcana here.
- Player: An illusion spell! This area is under an illusion!
- Player: I can probably break this.
- Player: ...
- Player: Mmmm!
- Player: Oh no! Get out of here now!
- Suddenly, a wall of Arcana surrounds their location
- Billy: !!
- Kitty: I knew it! A trap!
- Player: ...
- A heavy voice: Strangers...
- A heavy voice: Why are you here?
- Player: We mean no harm.
- Player: Someone asked us to bring medicine here.
- Player: Is someone sick?
- A heavy voice: Medicine?
- ???: *Coughs*... W-Who?
- ???: Who goes there?
- Player: This voice...
- The Arcana walls disappear
- Kitty: The trap has been disarmed?
- Caspar pushes Rehoboam to meet the group
- Player: Rehoboam?
- A little while later...
- Rehoboam: *Coughs*...
- Rehoboam: Player... You...
- Caspar: Sir, you need to rest.
- Rehoboam: Don't worry.
- Player: Rehoboam... Are you alright?
- Caspar: His body is... not doing well.
- Caspar: You said someone sent you to bring the medicine to me?
- Player: Yes, and this is it.
- Player: (You hand over the package from the Giant Furry Gyee to Caspar)
- Caspar: Sir, this is exactly what we need!
- Caspar: Please hold on, Player. He needs to take his medicine.
- Player: Okay.
- Caspar and Rehoboam leave
- Kitty: That was a close call. I thought it was a Shadow or a White Cape trap...
- Billy: So the big guy knows Rehoboam?
- Player: The Furry Gyee's 'sick friend' is Rehoboam, I think.
- Player: And it's obvious that the medicine is very important to Rehoboam.
- Kitty: So the big guy with the dark skin is not a Shadow?
- Billy: Does that mean what happened in Elysiann was not related to the disappearances, and not some kind of conspiracy?
- Player: ...
- A few moments later...
- Rehoboam: Phew...
- Player: What's wrong, Rehoboam?
- Rehoboam: Nothing, it's something recurring...
- Caspar: This time, his symptoms appeared a lot earlier than expected. He had no students with him, and I can't leave him by himself...
- Caspar: Thank you for your help, Player.
- Rehoboam: But how did you find me, Player? And why do you have the medicine that I need?
- Rehoboam: Caspar, where's Osiris? I haven't seen him at all for a day now.
- Caspar: Um, Osiris...
- Player: A Giant Furry Gyee with dark skin asked us to...
- Rehoboam: A Giant Furry Gyee with dark skin?
- Rehoboam: Osiris...
- Player: Is that his name? Osiris?
- Rehoboam's face twists.
- Rehoboam: Caspar, when did Osiris leave? Why didn't you tell me?
- Caspar: Sir, your symptoms were in full force, and Osiris was the only one that could...
- Rehoboam: I see...
- Rehoboam: Player, do you know where the big guy is? Where is Osiris?
- Player: He... might be in a bit of a trouble...
- A few moments later...
- Elysiann Prison...
- Two guards talk in front of Osiris's prison cell
- Prison Guard A: So this is the Shadow that turned Elysiann upside down?
- Prison Guard A: He looks evil.
- Prison Guard B: Good thing we stopped this bastard. Can you imagine how much worse it would be if we didn't?
- Osiris: ...
- Prison Guard A: What are you looking at?
- Prison Guard A: You think you can break free from the shackles and tear the arcana barrier open? Really?
- Osiris: ...
- Prison Guard B: Cut it out.
- Prison Guard B: I hear that an officer is coming to interrogate him.
- Prison Guard B: We have to keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't do anything crazy.
- Prison Guard A: I wish the officer would get here soon.
- Prison Guard A: I get goosebumps just looking at the Shadow.
- Osiris: ...
- The officer comes
- Prison Guards: Sir!
- Elysiann Army Officer: How's the criminal doing?
- Prison Guards: Everything is under control, sir.
- Elysiann Army Officer: Alright.
- Elysiann Army Officer: Someone is here to see him. Make sure nothing happens!
- Prison Guard A: Someone wants to see the Shadow?
- Prison Guard B: Are they crazy?
- Elysiann Army Officer: They said they're the legal adviser of this Shadow.
- Elysiann Army Officer: And that they want to make sure his rights are not being violated.
- Elysiann Army Officer: Or they will take legal action against us...
- Prison Guard A: A legal adviser for this monster?
- Prison Guard B: What kind of world do we live in?
- Elysiann Army Officer: Stop complaining and do your job!
- Player comes to talk to Osiris
- Osiris: You again?!
- Player: Hey Osiris.
- Osiris: The medicine...
- Player: Don't worry, we delivered it to Rehoboam and Caspar helped him with it.
- Osiris looks slightly relieved.
- Osiris: Phew...
- Osiris: Thank you.
- Osiris: I'm sorry that I can't repay you for what you've done. As you can see...
- Player: Don't worry about it. Rehoboam is my friend, too.
- Player: I should thank you for saving Kitty.
- Player: And here I thought you were a Shadow... I'm sorry.
- Osiris: Don't apologize, I'm used to it.
- Osiris: Anyway, enough about me. Lord Rehoboam...
- Player: He's fine. In fact, he's negotiating with the Elysiann Army officers right now.
- Osiris: Negotiating with the Elysiann Army officers?
- Player: Yes, you're very important to him, so he came here as soon as he heard about what happened.
- Osiris: He came here? For me?
- Osiris: I did bring him trouble, after all...
- Player: I know people in Elysiann, too. They will help as well.
- Player: Right now we need to stop them from thinking you're a Shadow.
- Osiris: I'm really sorry for all the trouble...
- Osiris: Is there anything I can do?
- Player: I need to know everything, from the beginning.
- Player: What exactly happened during the day?
- Player: The eastern ramparts of Elysiann was blown up, and there was a robbery at the pharmacy.
- Osiris: It was me! Both of them!
- Player: Uh...
- Player: Why? Why did you blow up the walls and rob the pharmacy?
- Player: You just wanted to get medicine, right?
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: I'm really sorry that I brought trouble to the city and its people.
- Osiris: But I...
- Osiris: There was no other way.
- Player: What happened?
- Osiris: Yesterday, Lord Rehoboam was very ill...
- Osiris: He was near Elysiann because he came for Arcane Research. He didn't have his students or the Nirvanians with him.
- Osiris: Caspar couldn't go to the city to buy medicine, so I asked Caspar to draw me a map of Elysiann.
- Osiris: I finally arrived at the city before dawn.
- Osiris: I saw people coming and going through the gate, and I wanted to go in as well.
- Osiris: As soon as I was near the crowd, a woman saw me and screamed.
- Player: ...
- Player: Maybe she has never seen a Furry.
- Player: After all, your build can be... intimidating.
- Osiris: No, she was a Gyee. Her eyes glowed gold when she was screaming.
- Osiris: But more importantly, her scream attracted the attention of the city guards.
- Osiris: One of them kept their eyes on me, and the other was looking at his arcana detector.
- Osiris: They asked for my identity, my background, and an entry permit to Elysiann...
- Osiris: I told them everything, and that I'd like to apply for a permit on the spot.
- Osiris: The guards didn't want to help, and tried to get me to leave.
- Osiris: Then someone screamed that I was a Shadow.
- Osiris: They summoned more guards, and I had to run and hide before the situation got worse. I was looking for another way to get into the city.
- Player: So... you blew up the ramparts?
- Osiris: Yes, I didn't sense any human flux on the eastern side, so I figured no one would get hurt if I blew it up.
- Player: But those are ramparts! You weren't carrying a bomb, were you?
- Osiris: I cracked the wall with my sword, then focused the flux on my fist, and...
- Player: Are you telling me that you punched through the ramparts?
- Osiris: Lord Rehoboam said my flux is different from others...
- Player: Incredible...
- Player: No wonder I sensed a huge surge of power whenever you used flux.
- Player: I felt it again when I was near the collapsed ramparts.
- Osiris: Oh, I accidentally knocked someone down when I went into the city amid the chaos.
- Osiris: Lord Rehoboam taught me some healing arcana, so I think I might have used it on the pedestrian.
- Player: I see...
- Player: Then you asked me for directions to the pharmacy.
- Player: I'm guessing that the owner saw you and got scared?
- Osiris: I tried to explain that I was a Gyee and not a Shadow, and that I meant no harm, but...
- Player: I don't think he was in the mood to listen carefully.
- Osiris: But Lord Rehoboam was waiting, so I put some money down, then smashed the counter and found what I was looking for.
- Player: Then all you had to do was break another section of the ramparts and leave.
- Player: But you saved Kitty...
- Osiris: I saw the boy falling from the roof, and I had to save him.
- Osiris: So I ran and caught him.
- Player: ...
- Osiris: How is he, anyway?
- Player: Thanks to you, he's doing great.
- Osiris: That's good to hear...
- Player: So...
- Player: The incident could have been prevented, but their misunderstanding and prejudice...
- Player: They should have used the Shadow Flux readings to determine if someone is a Shadow.
- Player: Maybe the civilians don't know this, but there's no way a city guard doesn't know.
- Osiris: I don't blame them. Civilians or guards, they're just ordinary people.
- Osiris: After all, a Giant Furry like me, with fangs and weapons...
- Osiris: Maybe fear is the right emotional response.
- Osiris: You are the only one who didn't run away in fear and scream when you saw me.
- Osiris: Thanks.
- Player: ...
- Player: (smiles)
- Player: Anyway, I am Player.
- You extend your right hand.
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: (Hesitates)
- Osiris: I am Osiris, Lord Rehoboam's bodyguard.
- He holds your hand.
- Player: (smiles)
- Player: Don't worry, Osiris.
- Player: I, Player, will do everything I can to get you out of here.
- The next day...
- Elysiann, at night...
- Player and Rehoboam talk with an Elysiann official
- Elysiann Official: Now, with this...
- Elysiann Official: Everything is settled. All the damages have been paid for.
- Elysiann Official: I notified the prison guards to bring Osiris up.
- Rehoboam: Player, you didn't have to pay so much...
- Rehoboam: After living for so long, I have some savings, too.
- Rehoboam: And gold means nothing to someone old like me...
- Player: No, I should, and I must.
- Player: He saved Kitty, so please let me do something for him.
- Rehoboam: (smiles)
- Osiris: Lord Rehoboam!
- Two guards escort Osiris to Player and Rehoboam
- Caspar: Osiris, are you alright?
- Rehoboam: (smiles)
- Osiris: I'm sorry for the trouble that I brought you and Caspar...
- Rehoboam: Compared to what you've done for me, it's nothing.
- Osiris: Thank you, Player.
- Player: (smiles)
- Prison Guard A: Osiris and everyone else, we will escort you out of Elysiann.
- Prison Guard B: This way, please.
- Rehoboam: Thank you.
- One of the guards strikes up a conversation on the way to the city gate
- Prison Guard A: So you're really not a Shadow?
- Osiris: Hmmm.
- Osiris: I'm a Furry Gyee.
- Prison Guard A: I had no idea your kind existed. The world is an amazing place, isn't it?
- Prison Guard B: ...
- Prison Guard B: This is how far we have been instructed to go with you.
- Prison Guard B: For safety, we can only take you to the side gate. Please leave through here...
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: I'm very sorry about everything. I will leave now.
- You suddenly sense a surge of unnatural flux.
- Player: !!
- Osiris: !!
- Rehoboam: ...
- Prison Guard A: What's wrong?
- A young woman tries to walk past the group
- Female Youth: Carrying out your duties at this hour? Thank you for your hard work!
- Prison Guard A: (Nods)
- The young woman tries to continue on her way
- Osiris: Stop!
- Prison Guards: !!
- Prison Guard A: What did you say?
- Osiris: You two, block the exit.
- Osiris: Alert the army and ask them to prepare anti-Shadow weapons. Also get the cells ready for a prisoner!
- Prison Guard B: Mmmm!
- Prison Guard B: Y-Yes, sir!
- Everyone focuses their attention on the young woman
- Player: For your sake, don't resist.
- Female Youth?: I don't think you know what's going on.
- Female Youth?: I was going to let you live for a few more hours...
- Female Youth?: I can't believe my prey delivered themselves to me.
- Player: (Prey? Delivered themselves?)
- The young woman's disguise fades away to reveal a Shadow Demon
- Shadow Demon: You already lost when I entered Elysiann.
- Osiris: Lord Rehoboam, Player, please stay back!
- Shadow Demon: It only takes one Shadow in the city to open a portal and summon our army.
- Two portals open behind the demon and two more demons emerge
- Osiris: Are you... cockroaches?
- Shadow Spider Queen: What did you say?
- Prison Guard B: The detector is going into overload. Is this what Shadows are like?
- Prison Guard A: Big guy, you can't fight all of them! We should wait for reinforcements!
- Osiris: No, watch the exit and don't let them get away!
- Osiris: I'll take care of them!
- Shadow Demon: An arrogant one, aren't you? I can't wait until you're pumped full of my toxins!
- Osiris: ...
- A strange light begins to surround Osiris
- Player: This feeling... It's the same as when he punched through the ramparts!
- Osiris: Be at the center of the light, become your people's blade...
- Osiris: And burn away the evil!
- Osiris defeats the Shadow
- Shadow Demon: Mon... monster!
- Player: Wow!
- Prison Guards: Um...
- Osiris: ...
- Caspar: Osiris, you're too tense.
- Osiris: I haven't moved in a while, I think my body forgot how to fight.
- Osiris: I didn't kill this one. Tell your people to get ready for the prisoner.
- Prison Guard B: I... already did...
- Prison Guard A: You... With your power...
- Prison Guard A: You can easily break the shackles, can't you?
- Osiris: Hmmm.
- Osiris: Yes, I can.
- Prison Guard A: Umm...
- Prison Guard B: To think we taunted you yesterday... We said all those things...
- Prison Guard A: Why didn't you just walk out yesterday?
- Osiris: I didn't want to hurt you, because you were simply following orders.
- Osiris: I only show my fangs to my enemies.
- Prison Guard B: C...Cool!
- Prison Guard A: Stop drooling!
- Prison Guard A: You're a Gyee, too, aren't you?
- Prison Guard A: You should aspire to be maybe ten... or even just one percent as good as him!
- Prison Guard B: I want to!
- Osiris: ...
- Prison Guard B: But maybe you should think about how good you are before asking me to be better.
- Prison Guard B: Have you ever beaten me in a fight?
- Prison Guard A: What? Say that again!
- Player: (smiles)

Intimacy Breakthrough[]
This section contains spoilers for Intimacy Breakthrough scenes.
- One week after the Elysiann ramparts were destroyed...
- In the forests in northwest Elysiann...
- Player: Combined with what we already collected, we should have enough.
- Osiris: Yes, enough for Lord Rehoboam's experiments.
- Osiris: I've been by his side for months, but I don't understand anything about arcana potions.
- Osiris: It would have taken a long time if I were to do this myself.
- Osiris: You just helped Lord Rehoboam again, Player. How can I repay you, Player?
- Player: I'm Rehoboam's friend, this is nothing.
- Player: And there's something about this forest that I'm investigating anyway.
- Osiris: Player, I heard from Billy that you're looking into the White Cape disappearances?
- Player: Yes, a team of White Capes vanished near here a few months ago.
- Player: I wanted to come here to see it for myself, because it sounds strange.
- Player: But I didn't find anything these last few days.
- Osiris: White Capes...
- Osiris: Hmmm.
- Player: What do you know about this, Osiris?
- Osiris: I've been with Lord Rehoboam for the past two months. We were near the forest, but didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.
- Player: Alright...
- Osiris: I know some tracking techniques, Player. Maybe I can help.
- Player: Really?
- Osiris: Think of it as me repaying you for the help today.
- The next day...
- Osiris: Over here, Player!
- Osiris points at the fabric on the branch.
- Player: This is just... ordinary fabric?
- Osiris: No, based on the shape and the hardness, this is the lining of a piece of standard issue armor.
- Player: Standard issue armor?
- Osiris: Yes, and the lining only shows when the armor takes structural damage.
- Osiris: That means it can only be left behind by injured soldiers while they run away.
- Player: Finally a discovery after more than a week!
- After a period of time, the clues in the forest lead you and Osiris to an empty area.
- Player: The ground here is too flat. Something is up!
- Osiris suddenly furrows his brow and stops you.
- Osiris: Player, wait!
- Osiris: I can smell blood... The smell is really strong.
- Player: Blood? I don't smell anything.
- Osiris takes out his sword and stabs the ground with it.
- When the sword comes back up, Osiris also pulls up a piece of white armor with bloodied flesh.
- Flesh of a White Capes soldier.
- Player: Ugh! This is...
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: (Holds his head) Agh...
- Player: Osiris?
- Osiris: Head... hurts...
- Player: What's wrong?
- Osiris: Run! Everybody run!
- Osiris: Rrragh!
- In the forests in northwest Elysiann...
- Osiris: Rrragh!
- Player: What's wrong, Osiris?
- Osiris: Scatter! Run! I will distract them!
- Osiris runs further into the woods.
- Player: Osiris?
- Player: Was it because of the remains of the White Cape soldier?
- Player: Does he have something to do with this?
- Player: I have to find him!
- A few moments later...
- Player: Osiris!
- Player: I think I lost him.
- Player: He's really fast for his size.
- Player: Osiris! Calm down, it's fine.
- Player: Osi...
- A huge shadow rushes out and knocks you down.
- Player: Rrragh!
- You want to free yourself, but you can't move.
- Osiris: I asked you to run away!
- The shadow is... Osiris.
- He holds onto you, and you are unable to move.
- Osiris: I told you to run!
- Osiris: Why didn't you?
- Player: Osiris?
- Osiris: I will not let them hurt you...
- His voice is trembling.
- So is his body.
- He is... in fear.
- Osiris: ...
- Player: Osiris...
- Player: ...
- You use every ounce of your strength to free your hand from Osiris's hold.
- You hold Osiris and pat his waist.
- Player: It's alright, Osiris...
- Osiris: Rrrooaaaarrr...
- Player: We're okay now.
- Player: You're in a safe place.
- Osiris: Uh...
- Osiris: Huff...
- Player: Osiris?
- Osiris: (Breathing slows down.)
- Player: Sounds like he's calming down.
- Player: I think he passed out.
- Player: Well, at least he's calm now.
- Player: What is his involvement with the White Capes?
- Player: So... heavy...
- Player: I need to get Osiris back to Rehoboam's lab somehow...
- In the forests in northwest Elysiann...
- At Rehoboam's lab...
- Player: How's Osiris doing?
- Rehoboam: He's fine.
- Player: Who is he? What do you know about him?
- Rehoboam: Why do you ask?
- Player: He destroyed the ramparts of Elysiann with a single punch, and he noticed the Shadow that infiltrated Elysiann.
- Player: He gave clear and concise commands, and took out all those Shadows on his own.
- Player: He even knows about armor and he can track things...
- Player: He said he's your hired guard, but I asked my friends at BlackFlame City, and they know of no such guards.
- Rehoboam: ...
- Rehoboam: Well, if it's you, Player...
- Caspar: Sir!
- Rehoboam: Don't worry, Caspar. If Player is after Osiris, he didn't have to bring Osiris all the way back here.
- Player: After Osiris?
- Rehoboam: Osiris didn't lie. He is my bodyguard.
- Rehoboam: But unfortunately, even I do not know who he is and where he came from.
- Caspar: Two months ago, he found Osiris in the forest nearby.
- Caspar: Osiris was badly hurt and barely breathing, so he saved him.
- Rehoboam: Osiris didn't remember anything when he woke up. To keep him safe, I asked him to be my bodyguard.
- Player: I see...
- Caspar: Osiris has been very helpful these two months.
- Rehoboam: He's large and scary, but he's also kind, meticulous, and respectful.
- Rehoboam: It's hard to imagine someone holding a grudge against him.
- Player: With his build and skills, it would take a lot to hurt him that badly. Unless...
- Player: Since you're a master of the arcana, can you somehow restore his memory?
- Rehoboam shakes his head.
- Rehoboam: When I found him, there were blunt force wounds on his head, and damage from arcana...
- Rehoboam: His mind also suffered greatly.
- Rehoboam: Arcana can't do anything about that.
- Player: Maybe the Order of Equality's network knows something.
- Player: If I told them his name, they might be able to find clues.
- Rehoboam: You can try, but that was the name printed on the rag that covered him.
- Rehoboam: It might not be his real name.
- Player: ...
- Player: When we were in the forest, he seemed to have recalled a bad memory. He was holding his head...
- Player: He was scared and trembling.
- Player: But he was holding me and protecting me.
- Player: What happened to him?
- Player: What did he go through?
- Rehoboam: I don't know...
- Rehoboam: The forest you mentioned is near where I found him, maybe something terrible happened there.
- Rehoboam: If bad memories are triggered frequently, it could cause serious trauma.
- Player: The forest is nothing special, and I won't be returning.
- Rehoboam: ...
- Rehoboam: Player, there's a favor I'd like to ask...
- Player: Please, go ahead.
- Rehoboam: Can you take Osiris as your bodyguard?
- Rehoboam: Take care of him for me.
- Player: Um, me?
- Player: But he trusts you, and he's loyal to you.
- Rehoboam: I am not going to abandon him.
- Rehoboam: But he's better off with you than me.
- Rehoboam: As you can see, he's not just any ordinary Furry.
- Rehoboam: He's an excellent warrior, and a great man.
- Rehoboam: There aren't too many like him in the world today.
- Rehoboam: He should be enjoying the world under the sun, while bringing more kindness and light to the world.
- Rehoboam: And not following some unredeemable old man dabbling in the forbidden tricks.
- Player: ...
- Rehoboam: Player, your journey is full of difficulties and obstacles, but Osiris has what it takes to help.
- Rehoboam: And considering his identity, I think Never Isle is the only place that will accept him.
- Player: ...
- Player: ...
- Player: I'm fine with the arrangement, because it would be great to have someone so powerful by my side.
- Player: But he's grateful for you, and I think he wants to stay by your side.
- Rehoboam: Don't worry, I'll talk to him.
- Two days later...
- Osiris: Lord Rehoboam, I...
- Rehoboam: I know what you want to say.
- Rehoboam: You're young and strong, you shouldn't be hanging out with an old man like me.
- Rehoboam: I already said everything I wanted to say last night.
- Rehoboam: Your power will bring light to this world.
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris bows to Rehoboam.
- Osiris: Thank you for everything, Lord Rehoboam.
- Osiris: Caspar, please take care of Lord Rehoboam.
- In the air, near Elysiann...
- Airship bridge...
- Billy: Welcome to the airship, Osiris.
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Billy: It's a fast and efficient vehicle.
- Billy: And we have a bar, a pool, and rooms for co-bathing. Use them whenever you want.
- Billy: You'll be staying in the guest room on the airship.
- Osiris: Um, Billy...
- Billy: Don't worry, the room is huge and the bed is extra large. Trust me, it's very comfortable.
- Osiris: No, that's not it...
- Billy: Oh?
- Osiris: Where can I find Lord Player?
- Osiris: I want to ask about work.
- Billy: The captain is getting the pool ready at Hottie Bar.
- Billy: Let me take you to the bar.
- Osiris: Thank you very much.
- Moments later, at Hottie Bar...
- Player: Osiris! Just in time.
- Player: The pool is ready. Take off your clothes and come swim!
- Osiris: Take off my clothes? Swim?
- Player: It's another two hours to Never Isle! Come down!
- Osiris: But Lord Player, Lord Rehoboam asked me to be your bodyguard...
- Player: What, guards can't swim?
- Player: Come on down! This is an order!
- Osiris: Well, if it's an order...
- Osiris: Understood!
- Osiris puts on his swimming trunks and goes into the pool.
- But Osiris isn't planning on letting down his guard.
- He looks around seriously.
- Player: (We have only known each other for a week, I guess it's not appropriate to get to know him through swimming and frolicking in the water.)
- Player: (Guess I'll leave him alone.)
- A while later, on the deck...
- Osiris: Well!
- Player: Not bad, right?
- Player: It feels great to hang out on the deck after a shower.
- Player: Especially for a Furry Gyee like you, your fur becomes fluffy and smooth under the sun, and your body will smell nice.
- Player: Here's a chair, why don't you join me?
- Osiris: Yes, Lord Player.
- After a while, Osiris's breathing becomes calm and rhythmic.
- Player: Is... is he asleep?
- Player: It's warm under the sun, but he might catch a cold without anything.
- Player: I'll give him a blanket.
- Your hand touches Osiris's shoulder when you put a blanket on him.
- Every muscle on him is tense.
- Player: !!
- Osiris jolts awake.
- He picks up his broken sword and looks around nervously.
- Player: Are you alright?
- Player: Bad memories again?
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: No... Just a nightmare...
- Osiris: I'm very sorry that I fell asleep on the job.
- Osiris: I cant, and shouldn't have relaxed like that.
- Player: ...
- Player: Sorry, I think I was rushing things.
- Osiris: What do you mean, Lord Player?
- Player: I wanted to swim and chill, so we could get to know each other.
- Player: It's only been a week, and I didn't ask for your permission first.
- Player: I was being unreasonable.
- Osiris: Please don't say that, Lord Player. I'm just not used to... relaxing.
- Osiris: I'm your bodyguard, and I should not be relaxing during my working hours.
- Player: Please don't be so serious.
- Player: I'm not a VIP or anything.
- Osiris: But you are my employer, Lord Player.
- Player: That is true, but I want us to be friends.
- Osiris: Friends...
- Player: So just try to be a little more casual around me.
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: I'll do my best, Lord Player... I mean, Player.
- Player: (smiles)
- Player: Since you're my bodyguard, let me ask you something.
- Osiris stands tall and waits for you to speak.
- Player: I have a friend that works at the Order of Equality.
- Player: Their intelligence network might help you recover your memories.
- Player: What do you remember about your past?
- Osiris: Just one thing...
- Osiris: 'Be at the center of the light, become your people's blade, and burn away the evil.'
- Osiris: I don't remember anything else.
- Player: I see...
- Player: Don't worry, I will help you recover your memories.
- Player: Just stay with me before you do.
- Player: I hope you can think of the airship as your home.
- Osiris: Home...
- Player: There's still a bit of time before we reach Never Isle, so let me show you around.
- You get ready to leave the deck.
- But you see Osiris standing there, not moving.
- Player: Yes?
- Osiris: Player, I'm just your bodyguard...
- Osiris: But you're giving me a place to live, and you're helping me with recovering my memories...
- Osiris: This is considerably more than what a guard deserves.
- Osiris: I can't take these favors for free.
- Player: ...
- Player: (smiles)
- Player: I am giving you a lot more, because my job is different from others.
- Player: Danger doesn't describe the things we're about to face.
- Player: So... I need your strength, Osiris.
- You extend your right hand.
- Player: Please, be my strength.
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris takes your hand.
- Osiris: Player, as long as I am alive, no one shall hurt you.
- Continue to Trifle - Gyee's Paradise
- The next day, around noon...
- The airship, the captain's cabin...
- Player: (Yawns)
- Player: (I didn't sleep well last night.)
- Player: (I don't want Osiris to leave...)
- Player: (But given the current situation, it's probably for the best.)
- Player: (I can't keep him here because of my own desire.)
- A while later, on the Airship bridge...
- Osiris: Good afternoon!
- Player: You're already up?
- Player: Why not sleep a little longer?
- Osiris: I feel groggy if I sleep for too long.
- Player: Billy is checking the airship, and we'll be taking off soon.
- Osiris: Hmmm.
- Osiris: I know...
- Player: (If it weren't for that... I don't think Osiris would want to leave.)
- Internal communications: Player, this is Kitty. We have a visitor...
- Internal communications: A resident of Never Isle is here to see Osiris.
- Osiris: For me?
- Player: Those who have something to say probably don't have the guts to come here.
- Osiris: Maybe it's something important.
- Player: Let him in, Kitty.
- A few moments later...
- Player: You... look familiar.
- Osiris: Are you the owner of the barbeque restaurant?
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: Yes, that's right. I'm surprised you remember me.
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: I brought this for you.
- He puts down a bag full of freshly grilled meat.
- Osiris: What's this?
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: A little something for Osiris.
- Osiris: But... Why?
- Osiris: Those thugs harassed you last night because of me.
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: True, but... compared to my brother's life, those thugs are nothing.
- Osiris: Your brother?
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: My brother is on the Defense Force, and they encountered a sudden Flux Shock.
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: If Osiris didn't fight the monsters and save him, he would have...
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: ...
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: My parents died at the hands of the White Capes, and he's my only family left.
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: Thank you for being here on Never Isle. Ka must be watching over us.
- Osiris: !!
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: I don't have a lot of money, but I can make tasty food.
- Osiris: No, this is...
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: This is the only way I can repay you. Please accept it.
- Player: Just take it.
- Player: Now we don't have to worry about lunch.
- Osiris: In that case... thank you.
- After a while, in the air east of Never Isle...
- Player: The grill meat is as delicious as ever.
- Osiris: Right.
- Player: What should we do now that we're full?
- Billy: Hm?
- Billy: Captain, a distress signal from the Shadowhunters!
- Shadowhunter under attack: We're under Shadow attack! There are many of them, and we can't hold on much longer!
- Shadowhunter under attack: Please help us if you receive this message!
- Shadowhunter under attack: I repeat... our squad...
- Player: Osiris, I need to help the Shadowhunters!
- Osiris: I know, let's go!
- Player: Billy, track the distress signal and change the flight path. We are going to help the Shadowhunters!
- Player: Billy, come with me to help the Shadowhunters after we land. Kitty, you stay on the airship with Osiris to support us.
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: No, let me go with you!
- Player: Osiris...
- Osiris: I am still your bodyguard today.
- While sending Osiris away from Never Isle...
- The airship receives a distress signal from the Shadowhunters.
- It's an emergency, so the airship heads to the distress signal to help the Shadowhunters.
- Somewhere in eastern Never Isle...
- Osiris: Kitty, open the hatch! Now!
- Kitty: Okay!
- The hatch opens and a Shadowbeast immediately enters the airship.
- Shadowbeast: Roar!
- Kitty: What?
- Osiris grabs the Shadowbeast by its leg and drags it out of the airship.
- The hatch fully opens and Kitty sees Osiris carrying 3 figures.
- And countless Shadow Monsters are following Osiris.
- Osiris: Close the hatch now and take off!
- Osiris: Back to Never Isle!
- Kitty: Got it!
- A while later, Airship takes off.
- Osiris is carrying an injured Billy on his shoulder, a bleeding Shadowhunter on his back, and...
- Holding on to you, who is unconscious.
- Osiris: Kitty, give me a hand!
- Osiris crumples to the floor after basic triage.
- He breathes laboriously.
- Osiris: Huff, puff...
- Kitty: Osiris, you're hurt, too...
- Osiris: Don't worry about me, I'm fine.
- Kitty: What happened? Why are Billy and Player hurt? Why were there so many Shadows?
- Osiris: It was a trap!
- Osiris: The Shadows wiped out the Shadowhunters, but they left one alive.
- Osiris: And let him send a distress signal.
- Kitty: What?
- After a while, Kaism Church...
- Elbrand: Your injuries...
- Osiris: Don't mind me, save them first!
- Elbrand: Gosh...
- Elbrand: Prepare for surgery! And contact the Arcana Academy, because we will need medical help!
- A while later, outside of the emergency room of the church...
- Osiris: (Looking at the door to the room)
- Osiris: ...
- A doctor comes out.
- Osiris: Doctor! How are they?
- Kaism Doctor: Player and Billy made it.
- Kaism Doctor: But the Shadowhunter's injuries were too grave...
- Kaism Doctor: We did our best.
- Osiris: Uh...
- Osiris: If I... If I could...
- Kaism Doctor: Now that we have more people, we need to take a look at you.
- Kaism Doctor: Your injuries must be treated immediately!
- Osiris: (Spits blood) Ugh...
- Kaism Doctor: (Checks Osiris...)
- Kaism Doctor: Half of your ribs are broken, and they punctured your stomach!
- Osiris: I'm fine...
- Two weeks later, Kaism patient room...
- Osiris is sitting by your bed and wiping you down.
- Osiris: It's been two weeks...
- Osiris: Player...
- Player: Umm...
- Osiris: Player!!
- Player: Where... Where am I?
- Player: The Shadows!
- Osiris: We're on Never Isle. We escaped, and we're safe.
- Player: Never Isle?
- Player: Never Isle?
- Player: But, Osiris...
- Osiris: Compared to your lives, my matter is trivial.
- Player: ...
- Player: I'm sorry that you're back here...
- Player: I'm, fine, Osiris. Before I fully recover, you can have the airship and go anywhere you want in Luxium. You can get out of here!
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: No!
- Osiris: I'm not going anywhere!
- Player: Osiris...
- Player: Don't worry about me, I'm fine!
- Osiris: I've been thinking about a lot of things during this time.
- Osiris: Player, you've been helping me since we met.
- Osiris: You delivered the medicine to Rehoboam, you gave me a place to stay and rest...
- Osiris: You held me when I was helpless, and told me that I was not alone.
- Osiris: I'm leaving Never Isle to make sure that the ones I love aren't hurt by the residents.
- Osiris: But if I really left Never Isle that night...
- Osiris: And if I was not there when you were in danger...
- Osiris: I... I...
- Osiris: I would hate myself forever.
- Player: ...
- Osiris: I don't have anything other than a broken sword.
- Osiris: Can I stay and be your bodyguard, so I can repay you?
- Player: Osiris...
- You hold Osiris tight...
- Player: Of course!
- Three months later...
- Nighttime, in the airship's Hottie Bar.
- Player: Come on... not again...
- Miles: (angry)
- Eddie: (angry)
- Miles: Get out of here, weakling!
- Miles: The Oathblades do not let go of what we're after!
- Eddie: No way!
- Eddie: I'm here on behalf of the Light of Purity!
- Miles: Guess we'll have to do it the Oathblade way!
- Eddie: Fighting? Again? Is that all you know?
- Miles: You know you can't beat me!
- Eddie: You...
- Osiris enters Hottie Bar.
- Osiris: Hottie, make me a drink.
- Osiris: Miles, Eddie...
- Osiris: What happened?
- Player: If I were you, I would stay out of it. They won't stop fighting...
- Player: But they are fighting because...
- Player: Of you.
- Osiris: Me?
- Osiris: Uh...
- Player: Not in a bad way.
- Miles: Osiris, will you consider joining the Oathblades?
- Osiris: What?
- Eddie: No, come to the Light of Purity under the Order of Equality!
- Eddie: The Light of Purity is a military organization under the direct control of the Order of Equality. You'll have a bright future here!
- Miles: Pretty confident for someone so weak.
- Miles: Osiris, a powerful soldier like you should join the Oathblades.
- Miles: We only take real men!
- Miles: Let's kill the White Capes and the Shadows together, become blood brothers and enjoy great feasts!
- Eddie: Osiris, violence isn't the answer to everything.
- Eddie: We try to promote communication between the Gyees and humans to remove the barrier between us...
- Miles: Just admit that you're weak!
- Osiris: So, um...
- Eddie: I've had enough, Miles.
- Miles: I think we will have to fight to let Osiris see our differences.
- Eddie: Do you think I'm afraid?
- Osiris: Calm down!
- Miles: Looks like he made his choice.
- Osiris: I'm not joining either organization.
- Eddie: Oh?
- Osiris: I have a job, you know?
- Osiris: I'm Player's bodyguard!
- Osiris: But as your friend, and as a member of Never Isle, I'll be there when you need me.
- Miles: It irks me that Player won...
- Miles: But your words are enough for me. We're brothers!
- Miles: Feel free to drop by when you have time!
- Miles leaves the Hottie Bar, satisfied.
- Eddie: The Order of Equality did horrible things to you...
- Eddie: But you're still willing to help us.
- Eddie: I don't know how to thank you.
- Osiris: It's in the past, so we don't have to talk about it. And the owner apologized anyway...
- Osiris: We're friends, and we're a people.
- Eddie: (smiles)
- A few moments later...
- Osiris asks for a drink.
- Osiris: (smiles)
- Player: Someone looks happy.
- Osiris: (smiles)
- Osiris: I didn't think Miles would ask me to join the Oathblades, and Eddie asked me to Order of Equality.
- Osiris: When I was walking down the streets earlier, the Defense Force, the vendors and the dock workers all greeted me.
- Osiris: Who knew that they hated me three months ago?
- Player: Hahahaha.
- Osiris: And I did nothing but complete jobs from everyone with you, Player.
- Player: Don't forget that you've been helping Never Isle when you were free.
- Osiris: They were just... trivial things.
- Player: If helping the Defense Force with tracking down spies and getting rid of Flux Creatures gone awry at the Academy count as trivial...
- Player: Then these trivial things showed your true colors to the people of Never Isle.
- Player: And helped you with your reputation among the four largest organizations.
- Player: Consequently, all the rumors against you were proven false.
- Player: Even the most twisted person dare not have a grudge against you.
- Player: Didn't I tell you?
- Player: Your kindness will get the return it deserves.
- Osiris: (smiles)
- Player: And this is just the beginning...
- Player: Great days are ahead!
- Note: all of Osiris's dates take place before this point.
- Red Desert, Western Never Isle...
- Mona Altar...
- Player: Nothing?
- Osiris: ...
- Morgan: I went back to Westhold for my monthly report.
- Morgan: I went to the archives of the Shadowhunters, and talked to my friends there...
- Morgan: There's no one named Osiris in their records.
- Player: Was there a file on a missing Furry Gyee from about half a year ago?
- Morgan: Yes, but they mostly died at the Loong Mountain Defensive Line, and their physical descriptions didn't match his.
- Morgan: If someone as powerful as Osiris was a Shadowhunter, our captains would know already.
- Morgan: So...
- Morgan: Sorry I couldn't help.
- Player: ...
- Morgan: Osiris, maybe you were not a Shadowhunter.
- Morgan: But if you want to, I will write a letter of recommendation to Westhold.
- Morgan: Someone as powerful as you are always welcomed here.
- Osiris: Thank you for the offer, but I am not looking to join any organizations right now.
- A few moments later...
- Above western Never Isle...
- You find Osiris resting on the deck.
- Osiris: Player! Come here!
- Osiris: The sun is perfect for hanging out!
- Player: I'm sorry...
- Osiris: Huh?
- Player: It's taken so long, but we haven't found anything about your identity.
- Player: We haven't asked the White Cape yet.
- Player: But the Oathblades, the Order of Equality, the Kaism Church, the Shadowhunters... None of them have anything on you.
- Player: I don't understand! It should be easy to track down someone huge and powerful like you. And you're a Furry Gyee, no less.
- Osiris: Don't worry about it.
- Osiris: Maybe I'm just too much of an outlier.
- Player: ...
- Player: Ha.
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: This has taken more effort than I thought.
- Osiris: Maybe it's time to let go.
- Player: Don't you want to recover your past?
- Osiris: Yes, but it's not that important.
- Osiris: My life ahead is more interesting than my past.
- Player: Sounds like you have a goal now.
- Osiris: Of course!
- Osiris: Now I know the meaning of that line in my head.
- Osiris: 'Be at the center of the light, become your people's blade, and burn away the evil.'
- Osiris: There are too many factors threatening my people and world peace, but too few who can stand up to those threats.
- Osiris: I will dedicate my strength and my light to fighting evil.
- Osiris: I will protect my people's peace and their future!
- Player: You are meant to be a hero, Osiris.
- Player: And... heroes need like-minded companions.
- Player: The Oathblades, the Order of Equality and the Shadowhunters all reached out to you.
- Player: Maybe you should give it some thought when you have time.
- Osiris: Maybe...
- Osiris: But for now...
- He hugs you...
- Your face is buried in Osiris's chest
- Osiris: I am your bodyguard.
- Player: Mmmm!
- Player: Maybe you think you owe me a lot of things right now, Osiris.
- Player: But after months of protecting me, you don't owe me anything.
- Player: In fact, you saved me so many times that now I owe you.
- Player: You are kind, strong, and brave.
- Player: I don't want to hold you back from becoming someone even greater.
- Osiris: Like I said, heroes must protect the futures of their companions.
- Osiris: You are my most important companion, Player.
- Osiris: I want to be your hero!
- Player: (surprised)
- Player: O-Osiris...
- Osiris: But... if Player thinks I'm not strong enough, then I will leave immediately.
- Player: Why would I?
- You hold Osiris tight.
- Player: I'm just really glad that you want to be by my side.
- Osiris: (smiles)
- Osiris: Oh, right. This is for you, Player.
- Osiris takes out a golden medal in the shape of a cross.
- Player: This is...
- Osiris: It's for you, Player.
- Osiris: I've had this star since Lord Rehoboam saved me.
- Osiris: Yesterday, I asked my friends at the academy to put an enchantment on this.
- Osiris: And I infused with my powers of light.
- Osiris: It's a charm now.
- Osiris: Since you're the type to go looking for trouble, Player...
- Osiris: You'll need protection.
- Osiris: I wanted to give this to you yesterday, but I couldn't find a chance.
- Osiris: Now, this will be proof that I want to be your hero.
- Osiris: Here, please have it.
- Player: !!
- You take the cross.
- Player: I will cherish it.
- Continue to Trifle - After the Nightmare
- Never Isle, in the Defense Force jail.
- The next day...
- Player: Osiris!
- Miles: Osiris is not here.
- You look around and realize you're in the underground prison of the Defense Force.
- Miles is looking at you from outside the cell.
- Player: What happened to Osiris?
- Miles: The sleeping pills are just wearing off. Don't get too agitated, or you'll feel dizzy.
- Player: Now that you mention it... my head...
- Miles: Osiris is locked up, and half of the military on Never Isle is watching him.
- Player: Why?
- Miles: Because it turns out he's Yvres, a White Cape general that has executed many Gyees!
- Miles: And he's also being charged with attacking you and trying to leave Never Isle with you.
- Player: That's a lie! He was trying to protect me and put up a show.
- Miles: If you know, then don't waste his kindness.
- Miles: Look, even I'm playing a prison guard.
- Player: ...
- Player: Why am I in here?
- Miles: For your safety.
- Player: Cut the formality, will you?
- Miles: (smiles)
- Miles: To stop you from breaking him out of prison again.
- Miles: After all, with your reputation, if you're really serious and get all of your buddies together, Never Isle can't stop you.
- Player: Where's Osiris? How is he?
- Miles: Don't worry, he's...
- Miles: Fine, for now.
- Miles: And no one has what it takes to oppose him, anyway.
- Player: That's good to hear...
- Miles hands you a letter.
- Miles: From Osiris.
- Player: (surprised)
- Player: Thanks.
- Miles: Don't overthink it.
- Miles: I will hate the White Capes for ever. All of them deserve to die.
- Miles: But I'm friends with you, and that's why I brought this letter to you.
- Player: (surprised)
- Player: (smiles)
- You open the envelope...
- Osiris's Letter: Hey, Player
- Osiris's Letter: I'm sorry that I 'put you to sleep' like that.
- Osiris's Letter: Player, I know you're trying to protect me and give me time to run away.
- Osiris's Letter: But what will happen to you after I'm gone?
- Osiris's Letter: You stopped the executioner of the Gyees from being brought to justice, and the punishments that were meant for me will go to you.
- Osiris's Letter: I'm your bodyguard, and I can't let you shoulder my sins.
- Osiris's Letter: Player, your safety has always been my priority.
- Osiris's Letter: Don't worry about me.
- Osiris's Letter: Yvres was a machine that obeyed orders...
- Osiris's Letter: But Osiris was a happy Gyee.
- Osiris's Letter: Player, thank you for making me Osiris.
- Osiris's Letter: As for my sins, Player...
- Osiris's Letter: It's worse than your worst imagination.
- Osiris's Letter: I have too much blood of our brethren on my hands, and I willingly accept any and all punishments against me.
- Osiris's Letter: If by punishing me, the Gyees could really become one, then... I have done something good.
- Osiris's Letter: I'm sorry that I won't be able to see you anymore, because that's only going to bring you more trouble.
- Osiris's Letter: I will remember everything we've said to each other, and every moment we spent together.
- Osiris's Letter: Wherever I am, I will bless and pray for you.
- Osiris's Letter: I will ask Ka to protect you.
- Osiris's Letter: Even if I fall into the void, I will do everything I can to stop monsters from hurting you.
- Osiris's Letter: ...
- Osiris's Letter: I wish I could be your hero again.
- Osiris's Letter: - Osiris
- Even though the letter never said anything like it...
- But you can sense that...
- Maybe...
- You will not see him again.
- Player: (Sobs)
- Player: Miles! Tell me the truth!
- Player: Osiris... Osiris...
- Miles: ...
- Three days later, a public execution is held at the plaza in front of the Arcana Academy.
- The infamous executioner Yvres is hanged while a huge crowd watches on.
- As the mechanism churns...
- Loud cheering breaks out from the plaza.
- Even though you're in prison, the cheering hurts your ears.
- Continue to Trifle - Shining Light
- Two months later...
- Somewhere in Luxium...
- Shadow Monster: Player, stop hiding and meet your maker!
- Shadow Monster: We can smell your fear!
- Player: (angry)
- Shadow Monster: He's not here, but keep searching!
- Player: Phew...
- Player: They can smell my fear?
- Player: I think I attracted the Shadows surrounding Billy and Kitty.
- Player: Now I just need to rendezvous with them...
- Shadow Monster: Found them!
- Player: Uh...
- You feel the Shadows converging on you.
- Player: ...
- You flee.
- Shadow Monster: Go after him!
- A few moments later...
- Player: Huff... huff... huff...
- Player: I can't lose them...
- Suddenly a hand from behind covers your mouth.
- Player: Hm?
- And you feel a familiar warmth.
- Osiris: Player, it's me!
- Player: Mmmmm! (Osiris!)
- Shadow Monster: Rooaaarrr!
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: Hold onto me, Player!
- Osiris's left hand holds onto your waist.
- His legs and back muscles tense up, and you're off the ground in the blink of an eye.
- He moves quickly through the forest while holding you...
- You hold onto him tightly, so you're not thrown off...
- Player: I haven't buried my face in Osiris's fur for a long time.
- Osiris: (blushes) Uh...
- Osiris: Don't...
- Osiris: I've been out for a while, and haven't had time to tidy up.
- Osiris: I'm sweaty and dirty.
- Player: (smiles)
- Player: I don't mind.
- Osiris: (blushes)
- Osiris: (smiles)
- Osiris: Hold on tight, I'm going to speed up!
- Player: Of course!
- A while later, in a cave...
- Osiris starts a fire.
- The flame is just enough to provide warmth, but not bright enough to be seen from the outside.
- Osiris: We're outside of the Shadows' perimeter by tens of kilometers, we should be safe.
- Player: Good thing you're here. It would have been very bad for me...
- Osiris: I was just nearby, and saw a large number of Shadows converging on something, so I followed them.
- Player: To think so many of them were waiting to kill me...
- Osiris: They can't find you here. But you should stay here until the sun comes up, Player.
- Player: Of course!
- Osiris gets ready to leave.
- Player: Where are you going?
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: Player, you're safe now, so I should leave.
- Player: ...
- Player: We haven't seen each other recently.
- Osiris: Hmmm.
- Osiris: Take care of yourself, Player.
- You run toward a departing Osiris.
- You hold Osiris tight from behind.
- Player: Don't go!
- Player: Please.
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris turns around and holds you tight.
- Osiris: Player...
- Osiris: I've missed you!
- You look at each other tenderly.
- Under the dim fire, Osiris's eyes are unusually clear and bright.
- You kiss Osiris.
- Osiris: Mmm...
- A few moments later...
- You lay top of Osiris...
- Feeling his warmth with every inch of your body.
- Osiris: Player...
- Player: Osiris...
- Osiris: No, Player, we can't be together for too long...
- Player: No one will know in this wilderness.
- Player: At least for tonight... Let go of ourselves.
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: Hmmm.
- A few moments later...
- Player: Mmm...
- Osiris: Mmm...
- A few moments later...
- Player: Mmmm... Mmm...
- Player: Ahhh!
- Osiris: Did it hurt? I'll slow down.
- Player: No, it's fine... K-Keep going.
- After a little pain, Osiris fills your body.
- The colossal Osiris is doing unspeakable things to your sensitive spots...
- Player: Ahh...
- Player: (My mind is... melting... But...)
- Player: (I'm so happy...)
- A few moments later...
- Osiris's warmth flows through every inch of you.
- You lay on top of him, with his arms wrapped around you.
- You fall asleep quickly.
- A tavern in BlackFlame City...
- You sit at a booth and casually taste the drink in your hand.
- After a sip...
- Player: Eww.....
- Player: (What the heck is this? It tastes horrible!)
- Player: (I guess you can't compare a small tavern to the Hottie Bar...)
- Player: (But... As long as...)
- Player: (smiles)
- A few moments later...
- Someone sits down behind you.
- The couch dips when he sat down.
- The familiar warmth...
- Player: A big guy just sat down behind me.
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: Hey, it's me.
- A few moments later...
- Player: Hm?
- Player: ...
- Player: Alright, I get it.
- Osiris: Anyway, the Shadows have completed their initial research on the Furrifying of humans.
- Osiris: At this point, they can control the minds of the Furrified humans.
- Osiris: But not for long, because the Furrified humans cannot contain their powers, and will die.
- Player: After all, only the Gyees can withstand the power of the Furry. It's the law of nature in Luxium.
- Osiris: I've destroyed several Furrifying labs, but their research carries on.
- Player: The Shadows are really adamant about this Furrifying thing, aren't they?
- Osiris: Yes, and they're trying to keep it quiet.
- Player: The key question is... what are they trying to do?
- Osiris: I think I have found a clue, and I'll have an answer soon.
- Player: Hmmm.
- Player: Anyway, this is not the place for a long conversation.
- Player: I'll pay the tab, and we'll meet up at that place again.
- Osiris: Right.
- Osiris: It's that time of the month again.
- A while after, in the bathroom of a hotel in BlackFlame City...
- Player: What's with the scars on your stomach?
- Osiris: I was careless during a battle several days ago.
- Osiris: Don't worry, you know how it is. The scars will go away in a few days.
- Player: ...
- Player: Be careful anyway!
- Osiris: I'm not afraid of flesh wounds!
- Player: What did you say?
- Osiris: Alright, I'll be careful. For you, Player.
- The next morning...
- Osiris: (Yawns)
- Osiris: Player, I have to get going.
- You hold Osiris tight.
- Player: More!
- Osiris: Mmhmm.
- A few moments later...
- Osiris gets up and fumbles for his underwear.
- You take it from him.
- Osiris: Huh?
- Player: Just leave this pair behind. They have holes in them...
- Player: I bought you some new ones. Put them on and see if they fit.
- Osiris: Thank you.
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: They feel great! Not too tight, and not too lose to affect me in combat.
- Osiris: Perfect!
- Player: Don't forget to change them often.
- Osiris puts on the rest of his clothes and picks up his sword.
- Player: (smiles)
- Osiris: (Bends down to kiss you on the forehead.)
- Player: Stay safe!
- Osiris: Of course!

Meaning of Battle
- Airship bridge...
- Player: Ouch! Ow! That hurts!
- Osiris: Sorry, I'll try to go easier on you.
- Osiris is done treating your wound.
- Osiris: The swelling should go down after a few days.
- Player: Thank you!
- Osiris: You're welcome.
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: Player...
- Player: Yes?
- Osiris: Oh, it's nothing...
- Osiris: That's it for the day. Anything else, Player?
- Player: (Osiris looked like he wanted to say something.)
- Player: (Is something wrong?)
- Player: (Keep asking)
- Player: Was there something you wanted to say?
- Player: You looked like you did.
- Osiris: Uh...
- Osiris: It's not anything urgent, really.
- Player: There's nothing left to do today, so we have plenty of time.
- Osiris: That's true.
- Osiris: Well, when I first came to your place, Player, I thought you were a scholar like Lord Rehoboam.
- Osiris: Or a merchant that needed help with protection during their journeys.
- Osiris: But you, Player...
- Osiris: Are the type that looks for danger.
- Player: Hahaha! That is true. After all, my jobs come from powerful organizations.
- Player: And I've made a name for myself in Luxium, so the jobs aren't easy.
- Player: But they pay well.
- Osiris: Yes, the pay is nice.
- Osiris: But I feel like you're not too concerned about the money, Player.
- Player: Yeah, as long as I have enough, there's no point keeping too much of it.
- Player: It's better to let my companions have it to make themselves stronger.
- Osiris: Player... Why do you risk your life for those organizations?
- Osiris: Player, given what you're capable of...
- Osiris: You can find a safe and high-paying job, where your life is not in danger.
- Player: You're right.
- Player: But no, because...
- Player: It's true that the Shadowhunters and the Oathblades should be the ones taking care of Luxium and fighting off threats.
- Player: But I am part of Luxium.
- Player: And I have what it takes to face the danger and solve problems, don't I?
- Osiris: You are more powerful than most soldiers, Player, that's a fact.
- Osiris: But not everyone who has the power is willing to step up and protect the world.
- Player: Miles, Eddie, Izumi, Bernard... they're all fighting.
- Player: My friends are all in this.
- Player: You are, too.
- Player: So how can I stay out of it?
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Osiris: (smiles)
- Osiris: I see...
- Osiris: Don't worry, Player!
- Osiris: I will protect you no matter what.
- Osiris: It's an honor to fight alongside a great warrior like you, Player.
- Osiris: Um, m-men?
- Player: Of course.
- Player: Just look at Miles, Bernard, and Takashi... Yum!
- Player: If I didn't take these jobs and put myself out there...
- Player: I wouldn't have met them.
- Osiris: Well... I guess...
- Player: And I wouldn't have met you.
- Osiris: Uh...
- Player: You have smooth mane, soft fur, and a great body...
- Player: And you're so big that I can't fully put my arms around you.
- Player: You're so cute!
- Osiris: Umm...
- Player: Why are you blushing?
- Osiris: N-no...
- Osiris: Anyway, I see what you mean, Player.
- Osiris: I will do my best to protect you, Player.
- Osiris: It's about going home?
- Player: Right.
- Player: You know that I'm not from Luxium.
- Osiris: Yes, Player, you mentioned it.
- Player: Don't get me wrong, Luxium is great...
- Player: But it's not my home.
- Player: It's where my family is. So even though I love it here, I have to go back.
- Player: If I can be on good terms with the organizations in Luxium...
- Player: Maybe one day I can find my way home through their intelligence network.
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: I see. I will do my best to help you, Player.
- Player: Thanks.
Leisure
- Hottie Bar, Airship.
- Osiris: I'm done with today's jobs, Player.
- Osiris: Do have anything else for me?
- Player: What a busy day.
- Player: I have to help out the Shadowhunters tomorrow...
- Player: I need to leave the Island and meet them tonight.
- Player: What should I do until then?
- Player: (Go have some fun.)
- Player: There's still a bit of time...
- Player: Since we're free for now, let's go to the Island.
- Osiris: Sure!
- Osiris: Where do you want to go, Player?
- Player: Don't look so serious.
- Player: We're going to have fun.
- Osiris: Oh, um, I just like to stay alert while working.
- Player: We're not working anymore, so just relax!
- Osiris: Alright.
- Player: Where should we go?
- Player: Is there anywhere you want to go?
- Osiris: No...
- Osiris: I'm not too familiar with Never Isle. Why don't you decide, Player?
- Player: Let's see...
- Osiris: Grilled fish!
- Player: Yes, it's about time for food.
- Player: We worked hard today, so let's eat out.
- Player: I know a great place for grilled fish.
- Osiris: ...
- Player: I know it's your favorite!
- Osiris: Of course!
- Osiris: D-Dream simulation?
- Player: Yes, the academy invented an artifact for people to experience dreams.
- Player: I've been meaning to give it a try.
- Osiris: But... dreams...
- Player: You don't like dreams?
- Osiris: Hmmm.
- Osiris: It's not dark yet, and I'd rather not think about them.
- Player: It's just a way to relax your body.
- Player: And they're all good dreams, too.
- Osiris: Uh...
- Osiris: Well, Player, if you say so...
- Player: Since I have to leave the Island later today...
- Player: I should use this chance to relax.
- Osiris: (Stretches)
- Osiris: That's true. We haven't relaxed for quite a while.
- Osiris: My muscles are really tense.
- Player: Let's go, then.
Sleepless
- Late at night...
- The airship, the captain's cabin...
- Plop!
- Player: Uh...
- You hear a noise under your feet.
- It sounds like something big fell.
- Player: That came from the guest room.
- Player: Osiris?
- Player: (Go check on him)
- A few moments later...
- You see Osiris on the bridge.
- Player: I heard a noise coming from your room.
- Player: Are you okay?
- Osiris: Sorry I woke you up, Player.
- Osiris: I'm fine.
- Osiris: Just wanted to take a walk.
- Player: ...
- Player: You had another nightmare?
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Osiris: Hmmm.
- Player: ...
- Player: What was it about?
- Osiris: The usual.
- Osiris: Slaughter, betrayal, departure...
- Osiris: Unconnected fragments.
- Player: ...
- Player: (Osiris looks really sad. I should say something.)
- Player: Don't be afraid! Dreams are never real!
- Player: When you have another nightmare, just repeat this in your mind.
- Player: It's not real, it's not real...
- Player: And you can wake up!
- Osiris: Of course I know they're fake.
- Osiris: But...
- Player: Yes?
- Osiris: Sigh.
- Osiris: Don't worry, Player, I can deal with them.
- Osiris: It won't affect my work.
- Player: Maybe your nightmares are about your past and your lost memories.
- Player: If the nightmares are fragments of your memories...
- Player: Maybe try writing them down.
- Player: It's painful at the beginning...
- Player: But if you can collect enough to piece together your memories...
- Player: Maybe you won't have nightmares again.
- Osiris: Piecing together the dreams to recall the past...
- Osiris: That sounds like a good idea.
- Osiris: Let me get a pen and some paper.
- Player: Osiris...
- Osiris: Well, this is not the first time, and it won't be the last.
- Osiris: Sorry to make you worry, Player.
- Player: Osiris, I can't control your dreams.
- Player: But if you jolt awake from another nightmare...
- Player: Come find me.
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Osiris: But that will wake you up, Player.
- Player: Having someone is better than being alone.
- Player: Dreams are painful, but you are not alone in reality.
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Osiris: (smiles) Player...

Gyee's Paradise
Never Isle is city of tolerance hidden on Lake Bliss and an eternal paradise for the Gyee.
- Never Isle...
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Osiris: This way...
- Osiris: This place is even more lively than Elysiann!
- Just from the harbor, Osiris sees both human and Furry Gyee peacefully interacting with one another
- Osiris: Furry Gyees...
- Osiris: They're the same as me?
- Osiris: Those people... There's no fear in their eyes...
- Osiris: They're talking to each other like they're friends...
- Osiris: How is that possible?
- Player: Why wouldn't it be possible?
- Player: This is Never Isle.
- Player: This is the Gyee's paradise!
- Osiris: The Gyee's paradise...
- Player: Calm down, Osiris.
- Player: This is just the harbor. The best is still yet to come!
- Player: Never Isle's got the biggest Market in southern Luxium. There have been a lot of festivals here lately, so it's been especially busy.
- Player: You can buy goods from all over Luxium!
- Player: Luxium's biggest store catering to Furry Gyees is also located in Never Isle.
- Player: Clothes, weapons, armor, daily goods... You name it, it's got it!
- Player: You might not need any weapons, Osiris...
- Player: But I you could buy some pretty snazzy clothes! I bet you'd look great in a wild, skin-tight outfit!
- Osiris: Wild... skin-tight outfit?
- Player: Yeah! Buy something one size smaller than you normally wear.
- Player: The kind that'll rip when you get excited, and all your muscles will pop out!
- Osiris: (blushes)
- Player: You're thinking of something weird and yet wonderful, aren't you, Osiris?
- Osiris: Uh, n-no...
- Player: In addition to its superb Market, there are also the world-famous Rupor Show, the Arcana Academy, and more.
- Player: Those will have to wait, though. Let's take a walk around the Market, first.
- Player: The grooming brushes on the airship are a little small, and we're all out of shampoo that Furry Gyees can use.
- Player: Maybe you can buy something you like, too, Osiris!
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Osiris: Okay!
- A little while later, at the harbor checkpoint.
- Osiris: There are so many people in line...
- Player: You need to go through a security check whenever you enter Never Isle.
- Player: Lots of merchants come to the Never Isle Market's festival, so today the line's running a little long.
- Player: We might have to wait a while.
- Osiris: Safety first. It's good that they want to make sure you and the other residents here are safe, Player.
- Osiris: It's worth the wait.
- The merchant standing ahead of them in line turns around
- Osiris: Uh...
- Osiris: Hello.
- Merchant: (Nods stiffly) Yeah... Hi...
- Merchant: ...
- Merchant: Uh, you guys can cut in front of me. I just remembered I left something on the airship.
- Osiris: We can hold your place for you.
- The merchant leaves
- Player: The guy in front of us just left. Let's take his spot.
- Osiris: Okay.
- They step forward
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Osiris looks around
- Player: Osiris?
- Osiris: I just heard...
- Osiris: Ah, it's nothing. I must be hearing things.
- Suddenly, two Defense Force warriors run up to Player and Osiris
- Defense Force Warrior A: You two, come with us!
- Player: Huh?
- Player: The Defense Force?
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Defense Force Warrior A: Oh! Player, what are you doing here?
- Player: We've just come back from Elysiann. We're waiting in line for the security check.
- Defense Force Warrior B: (Whispers) Since Player, it's probably nothing...
- Defense Force Warrior A: (Whispers) But that guy next to him...
- Defense Force Warrior A: (Whispers) Better safe than sorry.
- Player: Sorry, is there something wrong?
- Defense Force Warrior A: Oh, it's nothing.
- Defense Force Warrior A: This brawny Gyee fellow that's come back with you, Mr. Player...
- Defense Force Warrior A: He seems to be new around here. May I ask...who is he?
- Osiris: I'm Player's personal bodyguard.
- Player: That's right. Osiris is a freelance mercenary I picked up in BlackFlame.
- Defense Force Warrior A: I see...
- Defense Force Warrior A: What with the Never Isle Market Festival that's going on and all, the Defense Force has stepped up the security requirements for Never Isle.
- Defense Force Warrior A: Any Furry Gyees coming to Never Isle for the first time are subject to additional security checks.
- Player: Furry Gyees need to do additional security checks?
- Player: I've been on Never Isle for years now, and this is the first I'm hearing of such a thing!
- Player: Is this really necessary?
- Defense Force Warrior B: We're very sorry, Mr. Player. We're just doing our jobs. We hope you understand.
- Player: ...
- Bystanders: What's going on?
- Bystanders: Dunno. Seems to have something to do with that blockhead up there.
- Player: ...
- Player: ...
- Player: I've never seen anything like this before, Osiris.
- Player: It might be a while before we can check out the Market.
- Osiris: It's okay. They're just being thorough for safety's sake.
- Osiris: They're following orders, that's all.
- Defense Force Warrior A: Thank you for understanding.
- A few moments later...
- A Bearman Gyee is next to go through the harbor security check
- Furry Gyee: ?
- Furry Gyee: Hello, I'm a Furry Gyee. This is my first time here, as well.
- Never Isle Security Officer: Oh, welcome. May I ask where you are coming from? What brings you to Never Isle today?
- Furry Gyee: I'm coming from Red Harbor. I'm here to pick up some handy equipment and take part in the Shadowhunters exam.
- Never Isle Security Officer: I see. Hold on a moment... The arcana instrument doesn't show any Shadow Flux or dangerous items.
- Never Isle Security Officer: You may enter.
- The Bearman Gyee goes through without any additional security checks
- Never Isle Security Officer: Welcome to Never Isle, eternal paradise of the Gyee!
- A few moments later...
- In the Defense Force jail.
- Player: Enough! This is taking things too far!
- Defense Force Warrior A: Please understand, Player...
- Player: I don't understand!
- Player: You want to do an individual inspection? Fine.
- Player: But to do a nude, full-body check here in the Defense Force's jail...
- Player: I don't understand it one bit!
- Player: What do you take Osiris for?!
- Player: Where's Mira? Where's Izumi? I want to see your commanding officer, right this instant!
- Defense Force Warrior B: Calm down. This has nothing to do with Captain Izumi or Commander Mira...
- Defense Force Warrior B: We have received direct orders from Never Isle's leadership...
- Player: Orders from Never Isle's leadership?
- Choice 1.1 - If they're really orders from Never Isle's leadership...
- Player: Then why?
- Player: What did Osiris do to attract their attention?
- Player: (Could it be... Did Osiris do something?)
- Defense Force Warrior A: Our arcana instruments detected some abnormal flux radiation on the brawny man.
- Defense Force Warrior A: I'm afraid that until we can ensure he's completely safe, we will need to inconvenience you and Osiris, Player.
- Player: Abnormal flux radiation?
- Player: Could this have something to do with Osiris's lost memories?
- Player: Then...did you find anything in your inspection?
- Choice 1.2 - I don't care whose orders they are, this is plain wrong!
- Player: You're treating your own compatriots like prisoners, subjecting us to intrusive examinations without cause!
- Player: You'd better give me a damn good explanation!
- Defense Force Warrior A: Our arcana instruments detected some abnormal flux radiation on the brawny man.
- Player: Abnormal flux radiation?
- Defense Force Warrior A: I'm afraid that until we can ensure he's completely safe, we will need to inconvenience you and Osiris, Player.
- Player: ...
- Player: (They're just making something up to placate me.)
- Player: (With the exception of the Shadows, most people's flux radiation levels are insignificant. Only the Arcana Academy has instruments that can detect them.)
- Player: (There's no way a harbor checkpoint would have instruments like that.)
- Player: (Actually, we were still in line. We didn't even get close to the checkpoint!)
- Player: And that's the excuse they came up with?
- Conversation continues after choices
- Osiris: Player!
- Player: Osiris!
- A guard and an arcanist escorts Osiris back to Player
- Player: (smiles)
- Player turns to the arcanist
- Player: Huh?
- Player: Did your inspection find something?
- Academy's Arcanist: We've thoroughly inspected Mr. Osiris and all of his personal belongings.
- Academy's Arcanist: The flux in Mr. Osiris's body is unique.
- Player: Unique?
- Academy's Arcanist: It's different from most people's, though there's nothing particularly wrong with it.
- Academy's Arcanist: And there wasn't anything wrong with his personal belongings.
- Player: Now...
- Player: Are you happy?!
- Defense Force Warrior B: Uh...
- Defense Force Warrior A: ...
- A little while later, at the Defense Force jail's exit.
- Defense Force Captain: We're very sorry, Mr. Player.
- Defense Force Captain: It looks like this was all a misunderstanding.
- Defense Force Captain: On behalf of the Defense Force, I would like to extend you and Mr. Osiris our sincerest apologies...
- Defense Force Captain: Please understand the difficult position we were in.
- Player: Understand? You detained Osiris and subjected him to examination after examination...
- Player: Never Isle is the Gyee's paradise...
- Player: And everything you did today utterly humiliated him!
- Player: Let's go, Osiris!
- Osiris: Hmmm.
- Player and Osiris leave
- Defense Force Warrior A: I can't believe it. That big black blockhead isn't a Shadow?
- Defense Force Warrior B: The arcanists of the Arcana Academy did a thorough investigation. There's no mistake. Besides, there's no way Mr. Player would have picked a Shadow for a bodyguard.
- Defense Force Warrior A: He must be using some kind of trick to hide his Shadow flux!
- Defense Force Captain: Cut it out! That's enough out of you. Get back to your post!
- Defense Force Captain: You imprisoned that man against his will, subjected him to nude examinations, and offended Player.
- Defense Force Captain: That should be more than enough for them!
- A while later, on Never Isle.
- Player and Osiris exit the Defense Force headquarters but night has already descended on the Isle
- Player: Ah, it's so late already.
- Player: I'm sorry, Osiris.
- Player: I'll have to take you to the Market tomorrow.
- Osiris: It's okay...
- Grumble...
- Osiris: Oh... Sorry...
- Player: We spent all afternoon and evening at the Defense Force's jail. I'm hungry, too.
- Player: Good thing the snack stalls and barbecue joints are still open.
- Player: I know just the place!
- Player: I'll take you there!
- Osiris: Of course!
- A few moments later...
- Snack Stall Owner: The best grilled fish around, ready to eat!
- Osiris: (Sniff...)
- Osiris: Smells great!
- Snack Stall Owner: You think it smells good, wait till you taste it!
- Osiris: (Takes a bite of meat.)
- Osiris: Great!
- Osiris: (Eats an entire fish in one bite.)
- Player: Hahaha!
- Player: Boss, bring us five grilled fish and ten pounds of roast meat!
- Snack Stall Owner: Okay!
- Osiris: Mmm... Mmm... (Thank you... This is so good...)
- After eating a mountain of food...
- Player: Oh... I'm so full. I think I'm going to burst.
- Osiris: Thanks boss, that was really delicious.
- Snack Stall Owner: Haha, I'm glad you liked it.
- Snack Stall Owner: How about a couple of beers to wash it all down?
- Player: Okay!
- Player: To Osiris's first day on Never Isle!
- Osiris: Cheers!
- As you clink glasses, you recall everything that happened that day.
- Player: ...
- Osiris: Uh... Player?
- Player: Today was just one disaster after another. I'm sorry...
- Osiris: Player...
- Osiris: Why are you apologizing?
- Player: I wanted to show you a good time today.
- Player: I'm sorry that Never Isle has left a bad impression on you.
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: Actually, I quite like Never Isle.
- Osiris: This is a grand city...
- Player: Osiris?
- Osiris: There were so many people in Never Isle's harbor. It was even busier than Elysiann.
- Osiris: Gyees and humans were talking like they were friends...
- Osiris: This is a thriving and inclusive city.
- Player: Inclusive...
- Player: In light of the Defense Force's excessive search and seizure, it's ironic that you call this place 'inclusive!'
- Osiris: I think that the Defense Force makes this thriving city all the grander.
- Player: Why do you think that? Especially after they treated you like that...
- Osiris: In my opinion, a city's biggest asset are its people.
- Osiris: In addition to the wealth prosperity brings, the city's ruler is also willing to spend money to wholeheartedly protect its residents.
- Osiris: That makes him a great ruler, and that makes this a great city.
- Osiris: As for the Defense Force, they see a stranger like me and think I could be a threat to the city.
- Osiris: Detaining and investigating threats is their job.
- Osiris: Besides, the Defense Force soldiers had excellent equipment, were well-trained, and obeyed their superiors' orders. They make outstanding warriors.
- Osiris: The residents of Never Isle are very lucky.
- Player: ...
- Player: I knew back in Elysiann that you weren't the confrontational type...
- Player: But the Defense Force's excessive searches didn't make you angry?
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: I can only bare my fangs to my enemies.
- Osiris: The Defense Force didn't hurt me, and they didn't hurt the person I'm supposed to protect. That's enough for me!
- Osiris: Should I have torn down another wall because of these trifling matters?
- Player: ...
- Player: Oh... I was worried you'd be furious. Outraged, even.
- Osiris: Haha, I'm not a child. I know how to control my emotions.
- Osiris: Player, what you said to the Defense Force, and the concern you showed for me... I won't forget it.
- Osiris: Never Isle is your home, Player, and the Defense Force are its protectors.
- Osiris: Your relationship with the Defense Force is ruined because of me, Player...
- Player: Aye... I was angry at the Defense Force just now.
- Player: But you set things straight. I'm not angry anymore!
- Osiris: (Raises glass.)
- Osiris: Now then, shall we toast this grand city?
- Player: (smiles)
- Player: Cheers!
- Meanwhile...
- A short distance from the food stalls, the merchant that gave his spot in line to Player and Osiris is arguing with an Arcana Academy researcher
- Academy Researcher: Hold on! I don't understand. I thought you all loved it when we showed off the fruits of our research at the Market festival!
- Academy Researcher: Why don't you want to sign a patent use contract with the Arcana Academy?
- Merchant: Ugh. I think I've already made myself clear. Can you get out of my way, please? I had a very busy day and would like to return to the hotel to rest.
- Academy Researcher: But you said our results were incredible!
- Merchant: And that's exactly why I don't want to sign a contract with you!
- Merchant: Besides, Principal Vundo is unwilling to make the improvements needed for commercial viability!
- Merchant: A perfect product cannot survive on the market!
- Academy Researcher: I...I don't understand!
- Merchant: I am a merchant. I don't care about improving the customer experience, only about making sure the customer needs to buy another product in a timely manner, so that I can make more money!
- Merchant: Satisfying all of the customer's needs would only be digging my own grave!
- Merchant: Now please, stop pestering me! I'm leaving!
- The merchant turns to leave but spots Osiris
- Merchant: That's...
- Osiris: Hahaha!
- Player: I can't take it anymore. That's too funny.
- Snack Stall Owner: I'm not done yet! So then...
- Merchant: ...
- Merchant: What's that...thing...still doing here on Never Isle?
- Academy Researcher: Huh? Oh, you're talking about that Furry Gyee. The Arcana Academy has already helped the Defense Force carry out a rigorous investigation.
- Academy Researcher: He's just a normal Furry Gyee. He's got black skin, that's all. He's not a Shadow.
- Merchant: I just knew I'd regret agreeing to work with you...Gyee!
- Merchant: By Ka, that man is as black as the darkest abyss!
- Merchant: How blind are you people?! That you can't even recognize such a depraved and evil creature...
- Academy Researcher: Sir, I don't understand...
- Merchant: Enough! I've had enough of this place! I won't take part in your degeneracy!
- Merchant: Cancel my room in the hotel! I refuse to stay here one second longer!
- The merchant storms off
- Academy Researcher: Ugh... Why did this furry have to show up now, of all times!
- Academy Researcher: Wait!
- The researcher chases after the merchant
- Never Isle...
- The next day...
- Market Merchant: The best jewels in all of Luxium, so you can shine even brighter!
- Market Merchant: Top-quality goods crafted by a former Shadowhunters craftsman. They're a warrior's best friend!
- Player takes Osiris to the market
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Player: Welcome to the Never Isle market!
- Player: In order to promote exchange, the Never Isle government lowers the import and commodity taxes during the market festival.
- Player: During this time, you can buy a lot of goods you can't normally get your hands on!
- Osiris: Wow... Amazing!
- Player: We planned on coming here yesterday...
- Player: So let's make up for it today. Buy whatever you like!
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: (surprised)
- As Osiris scans the crowd, he spots several people avert their gazes as he looks at them
- Osiris: ...
- Player: What's wrong, Osiris?
- Osiris: Nothing. Let's go shopping!
- Player: Yeah!
- Once Player and Osiris go further down the street, some of the locals begin to talk to one another
- Never Isle Residence A: Phew... For a second, I thought he overheard what we were saying.
- Never Isle Residence B: So you were scared, huh? Hah. Even though you work out, his arms were still bigger than your legs. There's no way you could take him on!
- Never Isle Residence B: That's why you shouldn't talk crap about other people. So what if he's darker than you are? Doesn't mean he's a bad guy.
- Never Isle Residence A: Humph. I'm telling you, that guy is no good! Mark my words!
- A few moments later...
- Armor Merchant: Top-quality goods crafted by a former Shadowhunters craftsman!
- Armor Merchant: We can do customized modifications, crafting the right product for you!
- Osiris: This armor is all made by hand...
- Osiris: And finely crafted, with the highest quality!
- Player: How can you tell? Doesn't look any different from normal armor to me.
- Osiris: Due to limitations in engineering techniques, industrial weapons and armor inevitably have defects resulting from the production process.
- Osiris: But this equipment doesn't have any defects at all!
- Osiris: Armor and gear that doesn't have defects is stronger and more flexible in battle, which can significantly increase your chances of surviving on the battlefield!
- Osiris: The only problem is, handcrafted equipment is highly dependent on a craftsman's skill and can't be produced in quantity sufficient to meet a military organization's needs.
- Player: I had no idea you were such an expert on weapons and equipment, Osiris.
- Osiris: I don't know why, either.
- Osiris: It's like when I look at this armor, the knowledge suddenly comes to me!
- Armor Merchant: I can tell you are an expert, sir. Have you any interest in my wares?
- Osiris: Did you craft all this equipment?
- Armor Merchant: That's right, I did it.
- Player: Are you the craftsman who used to be a Shadowhunter?
- Armor Merchant: I used to be a Shadowhunter warrior, as well. Only someone who has personally experienced battle can know what a warrior needs.
- Osiris: Your craftsmanship is impeccable. Why did the Shadowhunters ever let you retire?
- Armor Merchant: Because of an old injury, I can't lift heavy things anymore or do strenuous things.
- Armor Merchant: To say nothing of combat, I have to stop and rest even when I'm striking iron. The Shadowhunters don't tolerate idlers, so I had no choice but to retire.
- Armor Merchant: I served for over twenty years. I don't know how to do anything else, so I became a common blacksmith. I sell weapons and equipment here and there to keep food on the table.
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Osiris: I salute you. You are a warrior deserving of respect and deference.
- Armor Merchant: A warrior deserving of respect and deference, haha...
- Armor Merchant: It's been a long time since I've heard such flowery words. Where do you come from, noble sir?
- Osiris: I'm no nobleman. I'm just Player's bodyguard.
- Player: Looking at your display here, all I see is equipment in normal human size. Do you have anything that would fit my friend?
- Armor Merchant: Not on hand, but I could customize a piece for you.
- Osiris: Sounds expensive...
- Player: Don't worry about it. As long as the quality is top-notch, there's no price too steep to pay.
- Player: Besides, as my bodyguard, you need to prioritize your own protection, otherwise how will you protect me?
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Osiris: Thank you.
- Armor Merchant: You are bodyguard and employer...and yet also friends?
- Player: That's right.
- Armor Merchant: That's great...
- Armor Merchant: We've got some new materials in stock. Have any interest in taking a look?
- Osiris: New materials?
- The merchant opens a chest
- Osiris: This is...
- Osiris: Dragonium!
- Player: Dragonium? I've heard about that...
- Player: It's a precious ore that can only be found in the Loong Mountains that block off the Shadowland.
- Player: Armor made with Dragonium is sturdy and strong, swords made with it can cut through iron like butter, and it is effective against Shadow contamination.
- Player: The vast majority of Dragonium is used to equip elite Shadowhunter troops; what little is exported is usually used by senior leaders of other military organizations.
- Player: How did you...
- Armor Merchant: When I retired, my old war buddies gave me a going away gift.
- Armor Merchant: Your broken sword is made of Dragonium. It would only be appropriate to have a matching set of Dragonium armor.
- Armor Merchant: Don't worry. The manual labor fees are only marginally more expensive than those for normal armor, say... 300,000 Gold.
- Osiris: Huh? No. No way. That's too much for me.
- Player: The market price for Dragonium ore is over 600,000 Gold. Why so cheap?
- Armor Merchant: I don't know...
- Armor Merchant: Maybe it's because this big guy reminds me of the past.
- Armor Merchant: I can't get rid of this stuff. Those nobles who wear armor for fashion's sake don't know a thing about the value of Dragonium.
- Armor Merchant: Gold only shines in the hands of those who understand it.
- Armor Merchant: This big guy looks like a pretty powerful dude. I think my old war buddy and I would both be pretty happy knowing this treasure was being put to good use in his hands.
- Player: ...
- Osiris: But Mr. Blacksmith...
- Player: The boss sees your hidden potential, and he's kindly offering you this deal. You'd better take it.
- Osiris: Thank... Thank you!
- Player: I don't have that much money. Can I give you a down payment first?
- Armor Merchant: Of course. Down payment is 50,000 Gold. Dragonium is very strong, so crafting it will take two months' time.
- Player: Here's the down payment. We'll leave the rest up to you, boss!
- Armor Merchant: Great! Don't you worry...
- Young Nobleman: I'm very sorry, but that Dragonium belongs to me!
- Player: ?
- A nobleman and his armed entourage descend on the armor stall
- Armor Merchant: Uh...
- Osiris: Who are you?
- Young Nobleman: You've come to the Never Isle market and you don't know who I am?
- Armor Merchant: This is my customer. It's got nothing to do with him!
- Armor Merchant: I'm sorry, but someone's already bought this Dragonium.
- Young Nobleman: Oh, really?
- Young Nobleman: Then where's the money you owe us?
- Armor Merchant: Please give me another two months. In just two months, I'll pay you back the 300,000 Gold that I owe you.
- Player: (He's in debt for 300,000 Gold?)
- Armor Merchant: I don't have that much money on hand right now. Here is 50,000. Take it.
- Young Nobleman: 50,000...
- Young Nobleman: What am I, a beggar?
- Young Nobleman: Show him I'm not to be trifled with!
- The nobleman's entourage raise their weapons and Osiris confronts them
- Osiris: What do you think you're doing?!
- Young Nobleman: This has nothing to do with you! Get out of the way, if you don't want to get hurt!
- Young Nobleman: As for you... I want the money you owe me, today! No - now!
- Armor Merchant: But I really don't have that much! Please give me another two months. I'll even pay interest.
- Young Nobleman: Fine, I can give you another two months. In that case, with principal plus interest, you'll owe me 2 million Gold!
- Armor Merchant: W... what?
- Young Nobleman: If you can't pay me, I'll take your Dragonium as a down payment. Otherwise, I'll have my subordinate here beat you half to death, then throw you in the Defense Force's jail to rot!
- Armor Merchant: Dragonium is not just some plaything for rich people!
- Armor Merchant: In the hands of a warrior, it can protect people, it can save lives...
- Armor Merchant: Please do not dishonor it!
- Young Nobleman: Looks like you've decided to die in a Defense Force jail.
- Young Nobleman: Makes no difference to me. I am your creditor. With you in jail, all your property will become mine!
- Armor Merchant: Uh...
- Young Nobleman: Break his legs first, then we'll notify the Defense Force!
- Osiris: I will not permit you to hurt this warrior out in the open like this!
- Young Nobleman: Who do you think you are? Pay no attention to him!
- Osiris gets into a fighting stance
- Osiris: Who thinks they can take me on?!
- Player: Wait!
- Young Nobleman: Huh?
- Player: We're all gentlemen here. If there's a problem, we can talk it out. There's no need for violence!
- Player: Since this man just wants to get his money back, then so long as the boss pays him back, we should be all good.
- Young Nobleman: Yeah...
- Player: Then your timing is perfect. I just bought 300,000 Gold's worth of armor from the boss. I've already given him the down payment.
- Player: As long as we pay the rest, then this whole matter should be settled.
- Armor Merchant: Sir...
- Young Nobleman: Huh? Can you produce this 300,000?
- Player: I don't have that much money on me, but my airship is parked in the harbor. I can get it for you quickly.
- Young Nobleman: Humph. You two want to save this man, how sweet.
- Young Nobleman: But it's too late. I. Want. My. 300,000 Gold. Now.
- Osiris: ...
- Player: I just need to go back to the airship to get the money. It'll take half an hour at most.
- Young Nobleman: Either you hand over the Dragonium, or I have all of you beaten half to death, then thrown in jail!
- Player: (Ugh, he's being totally unreasonable. I guess I have no choice...)
- Player: Before you appeared, we had already paid the boss to use the Dragonium to make us some armor. We have already given him the down payment.
- Player: That Dragonium belongs to us!
- Young Nobleman: Looks like you have made your choice.
- Young Nobleman: Bring it on! Let's fight!
- Osiris: ...
- Armor Merchant: That's enough! You two, I will think of another way to give you the armor I promised.
- Armor Merchant: You have no idea who this man is. You don't want to make an enemy out of him.
- Player: No! I don't care who he is. I'm not going to let this kind of bully push people around!
- Player: Even a place like BlackFlame has rules and codes. And this...
- Player: Is Never Isle!
- Young Nobleman: You have no idea who you're messing with. Let's fight! If someone dies, then...well, they die!
- Osiris: Player, Boss, you guys hide.
- Player: I can fight, too!
- Osiris: I am your bodyguard, and they've already crossed the line.
- Player: ...
- Player: I understand. I'll protect the armor merchant.
- Osiris: ...
- People start to gather over the commotion at the armor merchant's stall
- Never Isle Residence: Look! Something's going on over there!
- Never Isle Residence: That nobleman, it looks like...
- Never Isle Residence: They're gonna fight!
- Never Isle Residence: What a scoop! That black furry and that human nobleman are going to fight. I need to record this!
- Osiris: ...
- The fight begins
- The local thugs are no match for Osiris.
- Even controlling his strength, Osiris manages to knock the thugs down in less than thirty seconds.
- Beaten Thug: Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!
- Beaten Thug: M...monster...
- Osiris: Two left...
- Thug: Uh...
- Thug: Whoa!!!
- He runs away
- Thug: Help!!!
- Osiris: Just one more...
- Young Nobleman: Tch... You're all worthless...
- Player: Humph! How about that? Not so tough now, are you?
- Young Nobleman: Ha! You have the nerve to strike me?
- Osiris: ...
- Suddenly, you sense a powerful threat coming closer.
- Player: !!
- Player: Osiris! Look out!
- A bright flash and a loud explosion goes off
- Once the flash subsides, Osiris is already standing in front of Player
- Osiris: ...
- Player: (This is...!!)
- Player: (Just before the explosion, Osiris manages to shield me behind his back...)
- Player: (He alone takes the full force of the explosive strike.)
- Player: Osiris...
- Player: Osiris! You're bleeding!
- Osiris: It's just a flesh wound. I'm fine...
- Osiris: Stay close to me, Player. These aren't street thugs.
- Two Werewolf warriors drop down from the sky
- Werewolf Warrior: We hit him with an anti-Shadow bomb, and he's still standing...
- Werewolf Warrior: No matter. This ends here!
- Werewolf Warrior: Shadows!
- Osiris: ...
- Werewolf Warrior: People of Never Isle, have no fear! We are Shadowhunters!
- Player: Shadowhunters?
- Werewolf Warrior: The Shadows will be dead soon...
- Never Isle Residence: What Shadows?
- Never Isle Residence: How did the Shadows get into Never Isle?!
- Never Isle Residence: By Ka...
- Never Isle Residence: A Shadow monster is attacking islanders in the middle of the Never Isle market! This is explosive!
- Player: Shadowhunters, I am Player.
- Player: This is a misunderstanding!
- Werewolf Warrior: Player? I've never heard of you.
- Werewolf Warrior: You must be a friend of the Shadows!
- Werewolf Warrior: Kill them!
- Osiris: Rrragh!
- ???: Stop it now!
- Mira: Holster your weapons!
- A few moments later...
- In the Defense Force jail.
- After the Defense Force separate Osiris and Player, Player argues with them again about their treatment
- Player: You all did a thorough inspection of Osiris yesterday! Don't you remember?!
- Player: He's not a Shadow, he's just an ordinary Gyee!
- Player: I already explained what happened at the market. We were just doing the right thing, we weren't trying to cause trouble!
- Defense Force Warrior: We've already taken your statement, Player.
- Defense Force Warrior: Please stay here patiently until our superiors have made a decision on this matter.
- Player: Ka!
- General Will along with a Defense Force captain enter
- Player: General Will?!
- Player: What are you doing here?
- Will: ...
- Player: ...
- Defense Force Captain: You can leave now, Player.
- Player: What about my friend?
- Defense Force Captain: Mr. Osiris needs to stay here for now.
- Player: This is absurd...
- Will: Can I take a moment of your time, Player?
- Player: Oh...of course.
- A few moments later...
- Will: Don't worry, your friend is fine. The Defense Force is putting the finishing touches on their report. He'll be out in a little bit.
- Player: Oh...
- Player: But what are you doing here, General Will?
- Will: I came to take part in the investigation of the assault at the market.
- Will: The Shadowhunters have already issued an official apology to Never Isle and to Osiris.
- Will: The people who assaulted Osiris were a couple of off-duty Shadowhunters. They were simply acting on their experience.
- Will: However, Osiris seems to be a very...generous fellow. He immediately forgave the two Shadowhunters, and has expressed to us that he doesn't want them to be punished.
- Player: That sounds like Osiris, all right. I bet he even complimented them for their dedication.
- Will: That's right...
- Will: The Defense Force says that Osiris is a bodyguard that you hired back in BlackFlame.
- Player: Yeah, that's right...
- Will: His broken sword...
- Player: I tried it out, and man, is it heavy! I can't even imagine how powerful he'll be once it's finished!
- Will: ...
- Will: Yes...
- Will: But it's hard to imagine that man of your talents needs a bodyguard, Player.
- Player: Well...
- Player: (General Will is a trustworthy man, I think I can tell him about Osiris's situation.)
- Player: (Perhaps the General can help us find Osiris's family...)
- Player: Osiris is a protector in the truest sense of the word. He was attacked in the forest and lost his memory.
- Will: Oh?
- Player: You've seen how capable Osiris is, General. For someone to be able to beat him half to death, they'd have to be bad news.
- Player: That's why I brought him here to Never Isle as my bodyguard - it's to protect him and at the same time, out of the hopes that Never Isle might help him find his family and friends.
- Player: Even if we can't find anyone who knows him, and he can't get his memory back, then at least he can start a new life here.
- Player: For his safety, I hope you'll keep all this between us, General.
- Will: I see...
- Will: Hmmm.
- Will: You truly are a kind-hearted man, Player.
- Player: Osiris has been very kind to me. I owe him.
- Will: It's good to show gratitude to people, just be careful that they don't take advantage of your kindness.
- Player: Huh? What are you talking about?
- Will: Haha, I have too much experience. When I see something, I immediately assume the worst.
- Player: Oh...
- Player: General Will, I'm curious. The assault in the market didn't have anything to do with the Order of Equality, right?
- Player: So why did you come take part in the investigation?
- Player: Is it because of that loan shark?
- Will: Yes.
- Player: Does that man have any connection to the Order of Equality?
- Will: Yeah. Player, you often work with the Light of Purity, but you may not be that familiar with the business-side of the Order of Equality.
- Will: He is the son of the boss of an important financial group.
- Player: An important Order of Equality financial group?!
- Player: No wonder he was acting so arrogant, like he owned the market or something.
- Will: His father's financial group controls over half of the shops at the Never Isle festival.
- Player: Ugh...
- Player: Then...what is the Defense Force planning to do about it?
- Will: They're not going to do anything about it.
- Player: What?
- Will: We exhorted him to let the matter go, and he agreed.
- Player: But he attempted to rob us. He made loans with frighteningly high interest rates, and threatened to beat us.
- Will: We know.
- Player: ...
- Player: I get it...
- Player: As long as he doesn't cause Osiris any more trouble...
- A few moments later...
- Defense Force Warrior: You're free to leave, Mr. Osiris.
- Osiris: I hope I haven't kept Player waiting too long.
- Osiris: Sigh... I made Player worry again.
- Before Osiris leaves, General Will intercepts him
- Will: Hold on!
- Osiris: I remember you. You're...
- Will: General of the Order of Equality and Light of Purity, Will.
- Will: So you know my name?
- Osiris: Oh... I could see you through the grating at the investigation conference. What did you find, if I may ask?
- Will: ...
- Will: Where did your broken sword come from?
- Osiris: I don't know. All I know is, it's always been by my side, so I've been using it as a weapon.
- Will: Is that so...
- Osiris: I'm sorry, but my employer is waiting for me. If there's nothing else, then I'll be going.
- Will: You're not from here!
- Osiris: !!
- Osiris: What are you talking about?
- Will: Leave before it's too late!
- General Will leaves after delivering his threat to Osiris
- Osiris: ...
- A few moments later...
- Night on Never Isle.
- Player and Osiris leave the Defense Force headquarters
- Player: ...
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: Player, I...
- Player: Whoa!
- Player: It's so late again!
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: Maybe the night suits me better.
- Osiris: Let's go back to the airship and get some rest. Tomorrow we've got some work to do for the Order of Equality...
- Player: ...
- Player: No!
- Player: You go back and rest, Osiris. I can't yet!
- Osiris: ?
- Player: All of the airship's Furry Gyee supplies have been used up. I should've bought some more yesterday, but we were held up so late...
- Osiris: Ah, there's no hurry.
- Player: No way! Yesterday, you used fresh water to take a bath. How are you going to fall asleep with your fur all stuck to your body?
- Player: What kind of employer would I be if my colleagues couldn't even get a good night's sleep?
- Player: There must be a shop still open somewhere! Let's go!
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: Okay.
- A few moments later...
- Hank: Hey! Player!
- Lukka: Hey, you tall stranger. You a friend of Player's?
- Player: Thank Ka, you haven't closed up shop yet.
- Player: Osiris, allow me to introduce you. The small one's Lukka, the big one's Hank. They're traveling merchants.
- Osiris: Hello. I'm Player's personal bodyguard.
- Player: Hank, Lukka, we're here because we need some Furry Gyee supplies.
- Lukka: Oh! Then you've come to the right place!
- Lukka: We only stock products that have been extensively tested and recommended by the Furry Gyee Product Association.
- Hank: The Furry Gyee Product Association? You mean me?
- Lukka: Shut up!
- Lukka: Long story short, all of the products in our store are satisfaction guaranteed!
- Lukka: That's why I recommend the Royal Beast Brush!
- Lukka: The entire length of the brush is made from 24 karat gold, while the handle is inlaid with pearls from the Sea of Storm.
- Lukka: When you use it, I guarantee that your hair will be shiny and soft, and you'll stand out from the crowd! You'll be a shining legend in Luxium!
- Player: Well...
- Lukka: Friendship special price. Only 200,000 Gold!
- Osiris: 200,00 Gold for one grooming brush?
- Osiris: When I was in Master Rehoboam's laboratory before, my monthly expenses were only 2,000 Gold.
- Osiris: Don't you have a brush that's a little more...normal?
- Hank: You can use the one I use. We sell that, as well.
- Hank: Ten bucks.
- Lukka: Hank... you...
- Lukka: You don't want that low-end stuff. It doesn't fit your noble disposition at all.
- Lukka: We have another gold-plated pearl model that's a little easier on the wallet. Only 50,000 Gold...
- Lukka: I guarantee you it works better than Hank's bottom-of-the-barrel brush!
- Hank: I don't know, mine works pretty good. I've used it for over a year without any problem.
- Osiris: I'll take the one that's only ten bucks!
- Hank: Thank you for your patronage. Is there anything else I can help you with today?
- With Osiris's help, Player buys the necessary supplies
- Player: We have a grooming brush, some Soft Down body wash, mane shampoo, an extra large water-absorbent bath towel, an extra large water cup, some extra large underwear...
- Player: Am I missing anything, Osiris?
- Osiris: Nope~
- Hank: Brother, it's going to be hard to carry all that stuff you just bought.
- Hank: Let me give you a travel bag. That should do the trick!
- Osiris: This seems pretty high-quality. How much?
- Hank: It's free. You can have it!
- Hank: I'll just consider it making a new friend!
- Osiris: You want to...be my friend?
- Osiris: ...
- Player: Thank you, Hank.
- Player: (Yawns) I'm a little tired. Let's go back to take a bath and rest.
- Osiris: Yes.
- Player and Osiris leave
- Hank: I like you, Osiris. I think we'll get along just fine!
- Lukka: Humph! You've just got a thing for big guys!
- Hank: Jealous?
- Lukka: No!
- The next week is a busy one.
- You spend the entire time helping the Shadowhunters, Order of Equality, and Oathblades with all kinds of commissions.
- There were several fights that got a little hairy, but with Osiris's help, you ultimately averted disaster.
- Meanwhile, on Never Isle...
- Rumors about the 'black demon' persisted like a plague.
- They spread, disseminated, mutated...
- One night on Never Isle.
- Never Isle Residence: Hey! Did you guys hear? A black demon has come to Never Isle!
- Never Isle Residence: How could I not? I heard he's nine feet tall, has incredible abilities, and his eyes are blood red! How terrifying!
- Never Isle Residence: The black demon is a beast of the Shadows. Take one look at him, and he'll swallow you whole!
- Never Isle Residence: A beast of the Shadows? But the arcana detectors would warn us if they were getting close...
- Never Isle Residence: Who knows if those arcana detectors are even functional. Does the Defense Force even know how to use them?
- Never Isle Residence: In short, you need to tell your friends and loved ones. With this kind of thing, it's better to be safe than sorry!
- Never Isle Residence: !!
- Never Isle Residence: Hey. Look over there. By the harbor. Is that...
- Never Isle Residence: Ah!
- At the harbor, Player and Osiris speak with Miles and the Oathblades
- Osiris: Achoo!!
- Osiris scratches his nose.
- Miles: Catch a cold, big guy?
- Osiris: My nose suddenly got itchy.
- Oathblades Warrior: There were more enemies than the intel suggested, this operation.
- Oathblades Warrior: Good thing you were there, big dude! Otherwise we would've been toast!
- Miles: Yeah, without you, we could've been done for.
- Osiris: No need to thank me. It's my job.
- Miles: We owe you our lives! It's getting late, we'll treat you to some drinks another day!
- The Oathblades leave
- Player: And with that, another job well done.
- Player: I'm really beat today!
- Player: (Yawns)
- Osiris: Let's hit the sack early.
- Player: Good thing we don't have anything to do tomorrow. We've been busy lately. Tomorrow, we don't even need to set an alarm clock!
- The next morning...
- Osiris finds Billy working on the airship
- Osiris: Billy!
- Billy: !!
- Billy: Good morning, Osiris~
- Billy: What are you doing up so early? You only slept five hours.
- Osiris: I don't think sleeping in is good for the body.
- Osiris: Speaking of which, what are you doing up so early? I remember Player said that there are no plans to leave the island today.
- Billy: (Yawns) The ship's routine tests have to be performed at the same time every day.
- Billy: I'll go catch a few winks once I'm done with the tests.
- Osiris: Keep up the good work...
- Billy: That's my job!
- Osiris: ...
- Billy: The captain's still sleeping, but I started up the Hottie Bar and the armor plating. You can go rest there.
- Osiris: Thanks.
- Billy: (Yawns) I'm going to go get some shut eye.
- Billy: Uh...
- Osiris: What's wrong? Did you forget something?
- Billy: Yeah, the airship's flux conduits need to be changed.
- Billy: I need to go buy some.
- Billy: (Yawn...)
- Osiris: Go rest. I can go buy the flux conduits.
- Billy: But, Osiris...
- Osiris: It's not like I have anything to do right now, anyway. Might as well go out for a walk while I'm waiting for Player to get up.
- Billy: (Yawns) Thanks, Osiris. I'm about to pass out.
- Billy leaves
- Osiris: Yeah...
- Osiris: Player's been giving me a big cut of his commission fee lately.
- Osiris: Today's the last day of the market festival.
- Osiris: That's why I'm going to take this opportunity to buy some stuff for Player.
- A while later, at the Never Isle market.
- Never Isle Residence: By Ka, that's...
- Osiris walks through the market
- Never Isle Residence: Shh!!! Keep your voice down, do you have a death wish?
- Never Isle Residence: What are the Defense Force even doing?
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: I wonder where that old veteran is.
- Osiris: I hope that obnoxious rich man hasn't given him any more trouble.
- Osiris gets to the armor merchant's stall but sees someone different standing there
- Osiris: Huh?
- Market Merchant: Hello, customer. How can I help you?
- Osiris: I don't think I'm in the wrong place...
- Osiris: I remember this used to be an armor shop.
- Osiris: The boss was a respectable Shadowhunter veteran.
- Market Merchant: Ah, you're in the right place.
- Market Merchant: But he picked up and left Never Isle two days ago.
- Osiris: What!
- Osiris: What happened?
- Market Merchant: Sorry, how do you know him?
- Osiris: A week ago, my friend and I came here to buy some things.
- Osiris: We really hit it off.
- Market Merchant: I see. You're that customer.
- The merchant hands Osiris a heavy sack of money.
- Osiris: Sir...what is this?
- Market Merchant: The armor shop owner asked me to give this to you.
- Market Merchant: He wanted me to apologize on his behalf.
- Market Merchant: I'm afraid the armor you ordered won't be completed. This is your money.
- Osiris: !!
- Osiris: Where is he? Is he in danger?
- Market Merchant: He left Never Isle, that's all. He wasn't in any danger.
- Market Merchant: But he did have an old injury that prevented him from doing heavy work. He's also a Gyee. I don't think the rest of his life is going to be very easy on him.
- Osiris: But... Why?
- Market Merchant: He pissed off the boss that controls the Never Isle market.
- Market Merchant: Around here, that's like pissing off the gods.
- Market Merchant: Those capitalists have all kinds of ways to screw over us shop owners.
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: Well...
- Osiris: It's all my fault.
- Market Merchant: It's all water under the bridge. What's the use in fretting about it now?
- Market Merchant: You'd be better off thinking about what you're going to eat for lunch tomorrow~
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: Thanks for letting me know.
- Osiris: Sorry, I'll let you get back to work.
- A few moments later...
- Osiris: ...
- Arcana Potion Merchant: Hello! Welcome...
- Arcana Potion Merchant: Wow! You're...
- Osiris: What's wrong?
- Arcana Potion Merchant: Oh, uh... Nothing...
- Arcana Potion Merchant: What can I help you with?
- Osiris: (That boss was right. It's water under the bridge. There's no point in regretting something that's already done.)
- Osiris: (Player was hurt in battle yesterday. His injuries aren't too serious, but he still needs to recuperate.)
- Osiris: Give me two of your shop's best ointment.
- Arcana Potion Merchant: Oh, I'm sorry. We're all sold out...
- Osiris: Ugh... All right.
- Osiris: Then give me... Two bottles of your best nutritional supplement.
- Arcana Potion Merchant: I'm very sorry, but we're sold out of those, too.
- Osiris: All right, business is booming. Then what do you have left?
- Arcana Potion Merchant: Uh... I'm sorry, but you came just as I was in the process of restocking.
- Arcana Potion Merchant: We don't have any goods for sale.
- Osiris: Oh... Okay...
- Osiris: Well, how long will it take you to restock? I can wait.
- Arcana Potion Merchant: It's going to take quite a while. I suggest you go to another shop to look around.
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: (This is weird...)
- Osiris: Okay... A friend of mine strongly recommended this shop. That's really too bad...
- Osiris leaves
- Arcana Potion Merchant: Phew. Glad he's gone.
- Another patron enters
- Arcana Potion Merchant: Welcome, we have the best Arcana potion of Never Isle!
- Arcana Potion Merchant: All goods in stock!
- ...
- All of the shops Osiris visited are mysteriously out of stock.
- That fact coupled with the strange looks the merchants were giving him...
- It all seemed very strange to him.
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: Sigh. Looks like I have no choice but to go back empty-handed.
- Lukka and Hank come across Osiris as he is leaving the market
- Hank: Hey brother, what's wrong? Why the long face?
- Osiris: Hank? And Lukka?
- Lukka: We saw you leaving the market.
- Lukka: Seems like you ran into some difficulties.
- Osiris: Sigh, I couldn't seem to buy anything.
- Osiris: It's nothing, it's my own problem...
- Hank: Osiris, just come find us whenever you need something.
- Osiris: Oh!
- Osiris: No way, the capitalists that control the market are watching me. You'll suffer reprisals if you sell anything to me!
- Lukka: Huh? Well, we did get a warning along those lines, but...
- Lukka: Who can say no to money?
- Hank: Besides, we're brothers, Osiris. If we've got a good product, we're going to sell it to you!
- Osiris: !!
- Hank: What's more, we're traveling merchants. If some boss comes looking for trouble, we can just run away.
- Hank: So there's no need to worry about us.
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: Thank you.
- Lukka: We will have to charge a teeny-tiny extra fee, though...
- Hank: Lukka? We talked about this!
- Lukka: Fine. We'll waive the fee this time!
- 3 days later...
- At night on Never Isle, after completing an urgent commission for the Defense Force.
- Player, Billy and Osiris have just entered the harbor when...
- Player: (angry)
- Osiris: !!
- Osiris: ...
- Billy: They're back again? Ka, shouldn't they be getting tired of this by now?
- The airship, parked in the harbor, has been vandalized by unsightly paint graffiti.
- A few crooked words can be read clearly:
- "Black Demon Nest"
- Billy: I'm going to talk to the Defense Force about this. This isn't over yet!
- Billy quickly takes off
- Osiris: ...
- Player: Since Billy's gone to the Defense Force base, we should go back. We've got a Defense Force commission tonight, so everyone's going to be busy today.
- Osiris starts to go in the opposite direction
- Player: Osiris, where are you going?
- Osiris: I'm going to take a walk around the island. I'll be back in a bit.
- Player: Okay. Make sure to come back soon, so you can get your rest!
- Osiris aimlessly wanders the Isle and ends up at the food stalls
- Osiris: ...
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: ?
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: Hey, big guy! How about a couple fish skewers!
- Osiris: I can't. I don't have the appetite.
- Osiris: Uh...
- Osiris: Huh? How did I get here?
- Osiris: Aye...
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: Something on your mind?
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: Yeah, I've run into some trouble.
- The Barbecue Boss hands a couple of fish skewers over to Osiris.
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: Here~ Take these. They're on the house.
- Osiris: Uh...
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: Eat them. When you're feeling down, eating something delicious can help lift the mood.
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: People can only make the right decision when they're in a good mood, and only by making the right decision can they lift themselves out of their troubles.
- Osiris: (surprised)
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: It's closing time for me. If you don't want it, I'm just gonna have to throw it away.
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris takes the grilled fish.
- Osiris: Thank you.
- Osiris: Mmm! Tasty!
- Osiris: You are a true artist, Boss!
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: You're welcome to come and eat here anytime you want.
- ???: Uh oh! Uh oh!
- ???: Looks like that guy's disobeying the boss's order and sold something to the Black Demon!
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris turns around to see two gangsters approach
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: Take a closer look. I haven't sold him anything.
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: I just gave someone I consider a friend some food, that's all.
- Gangster: You're friends? With the Black Demon? Are you joking?
- Gangster: You may not be violating the letter of the boss's order, but you're definitely violating its spirit. You know what the consequences are...
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: A dark cloud is hanging over Never Isle, and it's all because of thugs like you!
- Gangster: What did you say?
- Osiris: Enough!
- Gangster: Whoa! The big scary black demon is angry!
- Gangster: What are you going to do? Are you going to eat us?
- Gangster: That'll make for some very interesting headlines tomorrow.
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: I'm leaving now.
- Osiris: The boss of the shop isn't my friend, but if you guys mess with him...
- Osiris: I won't give a crap what they put on the headlines tomorrow...
- Osiris: I'll use your heads to clean up the mess I make with you on the street!
- Osiris: Am I clear?
- Gangster: (Gulp)
- Osiris leaves
- BBQ Restaurant Owner: ...
- A few moments later...
- Lukka and Hank are at the harbor arguing with a Defense Force guard
- Lukka: What? This is utterly absurd!
- Osiris: Huh? Is that Hank and Lukka?
- Osiris: What happened?
- Hank: The Defense Force says our Never Isle travel permits have been cancelled!
- Osiris: !!
- Lukka: Well if the travel pass has been cancelled, then it's been cancelled. We'll just apply for another one tomorrow. But we came here on the last commercial airship in...
- Lukka: It's so late, and they won't let us in. Where do they expect us to sleep? Here?
- Hank: Nothing we can do about it. Let's just sleep here...
- Hank: In any case, this isn't the first time we've slept on the street.
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: You guys are not sleeping on the street!
- Osiris: Player's airship is parked here. You guys can sleep in my room.
- Osiris: Tomorrow I'll tell Player what's happened. I'm sure he'll understand.
- Lukka: But if we sleep in your room, where will you sleep?
- Osiris: Player...has me doing something tonight. I won't be going back to the airship tonight.
- Hank: In that case, thank you, brother~
- Osiris: Don't worry about it. I'll show you guys to your room.
- Osiris takes the two on the airship then quietly makes his way to Player's room...
- Osiris: ...
- A little while later...
- Player: Ugh. Umm...
- Player: What time is it? A little after 4...
- Player: Forget it. Might as well get up.
- Player: Osiris should be back by now.
- Player: (Opens airship logs)
- Player: Hmm... Osiris came back at 1am.
- Player: Huh?! Then he left again two minutes later?
- Player: Then he never came back...
- You notice a letter's been slipped under the door.
- Player: ?
- Player: (Opens letter)
- Player: Oh, Osiris...
- A few moments later...
- You find Osiris in a dark corner of Never Isle.
- He's holding his broken sword, sleeping up against a wall.
- Player: What are you doing sleeping here?
- You pat his shoulder, trying to wake him up.
- Although he's asleep, his muscles are still tense.
- Osiris: Rragh! Get away from me!
- Osiris: Huff, puff...
- Player: Osiris, it's me.
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Osiris: Player...
- Osiris: How did you find me?
- Player: The last time you left the airship was three hours ago. It's the middle of the night now. There aren't any airships or boat that leave the island this late.
- Player: Since you weren't on the airship, I knew you still had to be on Never Isle.
- Osiris: Uh...
- Osiris: Why'd you come looking for me? I left you a letter.
- Player: That's right, you left me a letter saying you wanted to leave.
- Player: And you left me all the money I paid you.
- Osiris: It wasn't just all the money you paid me, I also paid you the standard public airship ticket fee on top of it.
- Player: Why, Osiris? Why suddenly leave?
- Osiris: I...I don't belong here.
- Player: ...
- Player: Why? I thought... I thought things were good between us?
- Osiris: No, it's got nothing to do with you, Player!
- Osiris: It's because of me...
- Osiris: I'll just get you guys hurt...
- Osiris: If I stay in Never Isle, you'll be in danger.
- Player: What happened?
- Osiris: You remember the boss of the armor store at the market from before?
- Osiris: Because he came into contact with me, he was driven off of Never Isle!
- Osiris: And now Lukka and Hank, because of me they lost their Never Isle travel pass.
- Osiris: And your airship was vandalized, Player! All because of me!
- Osiris: If only I...
- Osiris: If only I never came here, their lives wouldn't have gotten so messed up!
- Player: ...
- Player: You mean the 'Black Demon' thing?
- Player: I never expected a little article in a tabloid like that would have such a big effect.
- Player: Nine times out of ten, that son of a rich man is involved...
- Player: Don't worry. I asked the Defense Force to investigate yesterday, and they promised me they'd post a correction.
- Player: The Defense Force already knows about all this. They're going to handle it.
- Osiris: You've been helping me ever since we met, Player...
- Osiris: But this time, Player...
- Osiris: Leaving is all I can do.
- Player: Leaving is all you can do?
- Player: ...
- Player: Osiris...
- Osiris: Give in?
- Osiris: They're just normal people. I don't want to hurt them.
- Player: You're treating them like they're just normal people, while they're treating you like an enemy!
- Player: You may not want to hurt them, but they're hurting those close to you!
- Osiris: ...
- Player: Sigh... You're too kind.
- Player: Obviously, you're the victim here, but you've been so passive and resigned.
- Player: You're going to make those guys think that you only look big, that you're actually nothing but a pushover!
- Player: We don't have to provoke them, but if we're provoked, we need to make them regret it!
- Player: Where's your fighting spirit?!
- Player: Never Isle doesn't belong to them!
- Osiris: You want me to...bare my fangs at mundanes?
- Osiris: That wouldn't feel right.
- Player: If you don't, then you're only going to be taken advantage of.
- Player: You're going to let them run roughshod all over us and do whatever they want.
- Osiris: No!
- Osiris: There's got to be a solution other than violence...
- Player: You...
- Boy: It's the Black Demon and his friend!
- Boy: Kill 'em!
- Suddenly, some boys spot you and Osiris. They start picking up bricks and throwing them at you.
- One of them nails you in the head.
- Player: Ow!
- Boys: Justice! Hahaha!
- The boys run away
- Osiris: Player!
- Player: You're...too kind...
- Player: Ugh...
- Player collapses
- Osiris: Player!!!
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: Kind...
- Osiris: It's all because I'm kind!
- A moment later...
- Boy: We hit the Black Demon and his friend!
- Boy: Everyone in class is going to be so jealous!
- Boy: Huh?
- Boy: Behind us!
- Osiris: Rrrragh!!
- The next day...
- Player: Hmm...
- Billy: Captain! You're finally awake.
- Player: Ugh, my head...
- Player: Where's Osiris?
- Billy: ...
- Player: What happened?
- Billy hands you today's edition of the Never Isle Daily, Never Isle's official newspaper.
- Billy: Osiris isn't here, but...
- Player: ?
- Player: !!
- Never Isle Daily: An entrepreneur who served as Chairman of the Never Isle market and also had ties to the Order of Equality was assassinated in his mansion last night...
- Never Isle Daily: According to the Defense Force's investigators, the victim's head suffered blunt force trauma, and his identity could only be confirmed through the use of arcana instruments.
- Never Isle Daily: It has been confirmed that the chairman's wife, four sons, and all of his servants were also killed, resulting in a body count of 106 victims.
- Never Isle Daily: The investigation has revealed that the entrepreneur as well as the three 15 year old boys found killed last night were victims of the same killer.
- Never Isle Daily: Arcana instruments near the scene of the crimes found that the suspect is a black Furry Gyee wielding a large, broken sword.
- Never Isle Daily: Never Isle is currently under martial law, and the Defense Force is...
- Player: ...
- Player: Osiris... No...
- Player: It never should've happened like this.
- Player: If only I could have chatted with him some more and understood his feelings...
- Player: Maybe...
- Scene ends - Bad Ending
- Osiris: You wouldn't understand, Player...
- Player: I don't understand? So tell me about it.
- Osiris: It's my own problem...
- Player: Well maybe I can help you fix your problem.
- Player: Just like how lately, you've been helping me with my commissions.
- Player: Osiris, you're not alone.
- Player: When something happens, you don't need to face it by yourself.
- Osiris: Player...
- Osiris: I...
- Osiris: I...
- Osiris: They hate me!
- Player: Hate? Who hates you?
- Osiris: Everyone!
- Osiris: Everyone on this island hates me!
- Player: !!
- Player: What makes you say that?
- Osiris: I know. My hearing is very good. I can hear things normal people can't.
- Osiris: Maybe out of politeness, or maybe out of fear, most people won't say things to my face.
- Player: It's gotta be because of that tabloid report, and also that son of a rich guy spreading rumors about me.
- Osiris: It's got nothing to do with them.
- Osiris: The second I set foot on this island, people started talking about me!
- Osiris: And it hasn't stopped since!
- Player: ...
- Osiris: Saying I'm evil, saying I'm a Shadow, saying I'm cursed, saying I'm an evil monster from the abyss...
- Osiris: Saying I'm a filthy Gyee, that I'm going to bring ruin on Never Isle...
- Osiris: Saying that I'm a hypocrite, that I'm a black-hearted criminal.
- Osiris: Saying that I'm lewd and that I sleep with multiple men every night.
- Osiris: Without exception, they all want me to leave, or disappear, or die!
- Player: Osiris...
- Osiris: To be honest, I don't even care about their gossip.
- Osiris: I'm your bodyguard, Player. Your safety is my only concern.
- Osiris: But the past couple of days, their hostility has turned toward...
- Osiris: Their hostility has started to threaten my friends, threaten the ones close to me...
- Osiris: Threaten Player...
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: So, do you understand?
- Osiris: If they want me to disappear, I've got no choice.
- Player: ...
- Osiris: Ugh...
- Osiris's body feels stiff.
- Every one of his muscles is tense, ready for a new threat to pop up at any moment.
- Even so, the endless hostility he's experienced is weighing down on him.
- He trembles.
- Player: I'm here.
- Player: Even if we have to face pure evil from the deepest, darkest, depths of the abyss...
- Player: There's no need to be afraid, because...
- Player: I will be right by your side.
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: ...
- His body trembles even more, but his muscles are beginning to relax.
- Osiris: Player, I...
- Osiris: !!
- Osiris: Player! Look out!
- Suddenly, several bricks come flying in your direction.
- Osiris uses his body to block them.
- Boy: It's the Black Demon and his friend!
- Several boys picking up more bricks and throw them at you.
- Boys: Justice! Hahaha!
- The boys run away
- Osiris: Did they hit you, Player?
- Player: I...I'm fine.
- Player: But you...
- Osiris: A few kids aren't going to hurt me.
- Player: But those bricks!
- Player: You're bleeding where they hit you!
- Player: (Channels flux to heal Osiris)
- Osiris: Ugh...
- Osiris: Player, I...
- Osiris: I don't deserve this... You're too kind to me!
- Player: On the contrary...
- Player: It's not just because you're my friend. It's also because you're so kind.
- Player: It is easy for someone to feel hatred. You don't even need to have a reason for it.
- Player: But it is very difficult to be kind to strangers.
- Player: Even when the Defense Force was giving you a hard time, you were still kind to them, and you were even willing to help them.
- Player: That day, when that obnoxious rich guy was starting trouble, you stayed in control. You didn't hit anyone, and you even let it go after the fact.
- Osiris: They're just normal people...
- Player: (smiles)
- Player: Maybe it's true that lots of people have cursed you and hate you.
- Player: But your kindness...
- Player: Will eventually be rewarded!
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Player: You're all healed up. Feel better now?
- Osiris: Yeah... The pain's all gone.
- Osiris: Player...
- Player: I'm sorry...
- Osiris: Player?
- Player: I originally wanted you to settle down in Never Isle, then I would help you recover your memory.
- Player: However...
- Player: I also used to think that Never Isle was a paradise for Gyees.
- Player: I forgot that Gyees are people, too.
- Player: ...
- Player: Even before you said anything, I could more or less sense it.
- Player: That you weren't happy living here in Never Isle.
- Player: Perhaps your future really does lie somewhere else.
- Player: But if you want to leave, you at least need to let me give you a ride.
- Player: Because even if you stop being my bodyguard, you'll still be my friend.
- Player: And in the future, no matter where you are, if you run into trouble, remember to give me a call.
- Player: I will always stand by your side.
- Player: Because even if you stop being my bodyguard, you'll still be my friend.
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Osiris: I'm sorry...
- Player: You don't need to apologize.
- Player: (Yawns)
- Player: It's the middle of the night so we can't go anywhere just yet. Besides, Billy's still sleeping.
- Player: I don't have anything to do tomorrow, so why don't we...
- Player: Go back and get some shut-eye?
- Osiris: Yeah.
- Continue to Intimacy Level 8
- Player: A lot of the time, people don't even have a good reason for hating someone.
- Osiris: ...
- Player: But that doesn't mean that everyone's full of hatred.
- Player: There are also people who view us from a more rational perspective and accept us with kindness.
- Osiris: Yeah, like that retired Shadowhunter warrior, Lukka and Hank, Miles, and the others...
- Osiris: Rehoboam, Caspar...
- Osiris: And most importantly, you, Player.
- Osiris: And that's just it. I don't want kind people to get hurt by the hatred that's aimed at me!
- Osiris: Leaving is all I can do.
- Player: Osiris...
- Osiris: !!
- Osiris gets in front of Player
- Boy: It's the Black Demon and his friend!
- Osiris: Player, get behind me!
- Boy: Kill 'em!
- Several boys start picking up bricks and throwing them at you.
- Boys: Justice! Hahaha!
- The boys run away
- Player: Osiris, are you hurt?
- Player: Damned kids!
- Osiris: A few kids aren't going to hurt me.
- Osiris looks at the bricks on the ground.
- Osiris: These are big bricks. If they'd hit you...
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: This is exactly why I need to leave!
- Player: Osiris, wait!
- Player: There's got to be another way!
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: I'm sorry...
- Osiris runs away
- Player: Osiris!
- Osiris doesn't want to leave...
- But in order to protect those close to him, he has decided to anyway.
- He is helpless in the face of the islanders' hatred.
- If only I could help him, then at least he wouldn't feel so bad.
- Maybe...
- Scene ends - Bad Ending
- Osiris: Run away?
- Player: Osiris, you're always going to come into contact with other people in life.
- Player: You're right, sometimes we're going to meet people that are hard to deal with.
- Player: We need to communicate and try to eliminate any misunderstandings.
- Osiris: Communicate... Eliminate misunderstandings...
- Player: And running away or retreating from the people you don't like is one solution to the problem.
- Player: But what if you run into somebody else like that wherever you run away to?
- Player: Are you just going to run away again?
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Player: Stay. I've already contacted the Defense Force and the Order of Equality.
- Player: Let's solve this problem and eliminate the misunderstandings together, how about that?
- Osiris: Misunderstanding...
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: Do you really think this is just a misunderstanding, Player?
- Osiris: Do you really think that when I encounter difficulties like this, that I don't want to talk it out, Player?
- Player: I didn't say that.
- Osiris: You don't understand at all.
- Osiris: Nobody understands!
- Player: Osiris!
- Osiris: I'm sorry, Player.
- Osiris runs away
- Player: ...
- If only I hadn't been so overbearing...
- If only I had listened better...
- Maybe...
- Scene ends - Bad Ending
After the Nightmare
Reality is worse than nightmares...
- ...
- ...
- Unrecognized Voice: Uh...
- Osiris: Warrior! I'm getting you out of here!
- Unrecognized Voice: No! You villain!
- Osiris: What?
- Unrecognized Voice: It's an evil monster!
- Osiris: No! I'm not!
- Osiris: Don't you recognize me?
- Osiris: We're compatriots! We're brothers!
- Unrecognized Voice: Gather the light and eliminate this evil!
- Unrecognized Voice: Go to hell!
- Osiris: Wait, no...
- Osiris: Ow...
- Osiris: Why...
- Unrecognized Voice: Another victory for the light.
- ...
- On the airship, in Osiris's room.
- Osiris: NO!
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris wakes up from his nightmare
- Early morning, on the bridge of the airship.
- Osiris: ...
- Player: You don't look so good, Osiris.
- Osiris: Yeah. I'm a little...
- Player: You had another nightmare?
- Osiris: I haven't had a nightmare like that in forever.
- Osiris: I don't know why, last night I...
- Osiris: Anyway, I'm fine!
- Osiris: I'm already prepared for today's battles!
- Player: Osiris, did you forget?
- Player: We've have a lot to do lately, and everyone's been really busy.
- Player: So today, we don't have any commissions. There's nothing to do.
- Player: So let's rest today!
- Osiris: That's right, I remember now...
- Osiris: Billy bought us tickets to this morning's Rupor Show. At noon, we're going to eat the restaurant Kitty calls 'especially delicious.'
- Osiris: And you made us a reservation for a bath and a massage, Player.
- Player: That's right! Today we're going to be totally carefree!
- Player: Let's have a good day!
- Just before noon, on Never Isle.
- Osiris: That performer just now was really funny!
- Osiris: I had no idea he'd be able to improvise jokes with words suggested by random viewers!
- Billy: Haha! He's the most famous comedian in Luxium!
- Kitty: Now that the show's over, let's go get something good to eat!
- Player: Yeah! I already can't wait.
- Kitty: The restaurant's near the harbor. Follow me~
- Meanwhile, at the Never Isle harbor.
- Izumi and the Defense Force along with Miles and the Oathblades assist in helping a large group of refugees that just arrived
- Gyee in Tattered Clothing: Never Isle...
- Gyee in Tattered Clothing: I never thought we'd make it to Never Isle...
- Gyee Child: Wahh, Mommy, Daddy, where are you?
- Izumi: Somebody, over here! We need help!
- Gyee in Tattered Clothing: Thank Ka, we're finally safe!
- Izumi: Notify the Kaist Church. Have them send some doctors here!
- Player's party arrives at the harbor
- Billy: Why's the harbor so crowded?
- Kitty: Those people don't look too good. They're all new here.
- Osiris: Looks like the Defense Force and Light of Purity warriors are taking care of them.
- Osiris: There are some Oathblade warriors over there, too. Looks like most of them are hurt.
- Player: Hurt?
- Miles: What are you doing here, Player?
- Player: We were going to eat nearby. Looks like a lot of people have come to the harbor to watch.
- Player: What happened?
- Miles: The Oathblades attacked a White Capes base and rescued some Gyee that were about to be executed.
- Miles: They're in very bad shape, and a bunch of our brothers were hurt, too.
- Miles: I don't have time to chat. I need to go find help!
- Miles takes off
- Player: Kitty...
- Kitty: We should go help!
- Kitty: There's still some time left before lunch.
- Osiris: Our fellow Gyee are hurt. There's no excuse to stand by and watch!
- Player: (smiles)
- Player: Kitty, do you still remember the healing arcana that the Academy taught you?
- Kitty: Of course!
- Player: Good! Kitty and I will treat the wounded.
- Player: Osiris and Billy, you guys go see if the Gyee who were rescued need any help.
- Osiris: Got it!
- The party splits up
- Osiris goes over to Izumi
- Izumi: Osiris? You're Player's bodyguard, right?
- Osiris: That's right. I'm here to help!
- Izumi: Great! We're short a few hands right now.
- Izumi: The Defense Force is trying to collect the information of the rescued Gyee, so they're scattered around.
- Izumi: The Oathblades have collect the belongings of the rescued Gyee and put them in a big crate. Could I trouble you to take it to the Defense Force?
- Izumi: Also, due to our limited manpower, we've prioritized the Gyees with the most serious injuries.
- Izumi: So could you also give the lightly-injured Gyees some basic treatment?
- Osiris: Got it!
- A few moments later...
- Injured Gyee: Ugh... My arm... It hurts...
- Osiris: !!
- Injured Gyee: Urgh...
- Osiris: Hello, I'm here to help you.
- Osiris: Where does it hurt?
- Injured Gyee: My arm hurts...
- Osiris: Your shoulder's dislocated, and you've got a mid-sized blade wound on your right arm.
- Osiris: I'm going to give you something for the pain. That should give you some temporary relief.
- Osiris: Right now, I'm going to need you to stay calm. Putting the shoulder back in place might hurt a little bit.
- Injured Gyee: Thank... Thank you...
- Injured Gyee: Take the sword...
- Injured Gyee: Ow!!!
- The man quickly tries to get away after seeing Osiris's sword
- Osiris: Hey! Stop jerking around, you're going to make the injury worse!
- Injured Gyee: No! Stay away from me!
- Osiris: What?
- Osiris: Please stay calm. I'm not going to hurt you!
- Injured Gyee: What are you doing on Never Isle?
- Injured Gyee: You...monster!
- Osiris: ...
- Player and Kitty find Osiris
- Player: Kitty and I are about done, Osiris.
- Player: How are things going here?
- Kitty: The Arcana Academy has also sent some people over, so they've got enough helpers now. We can leave~
- Injured Gyee: Ka will punish you!
- Injured Gyee: White Capes!
- Osiris: !!
- Kitty: Huh? White Capes? Who are you talking about?
- The injured Gyee points at Osiris as he shouts.
- Injured Gyee: The White Capes killed my wife, my parents, my brothers!
- Injured Gyee: I'll never let you get away with this, even if it kills me!
- Player: !!
- Gyee Refugee: What? White Capes?
- Gyee Refugee: The White Capes are in Never Isle?
- Gyee Refugee: That sword. I've seen that sword!
- Gyee Refugee: Countless Gyees have died to that sword!
- Osiris: I'm...a White Cape?
- A few moments later...
- Player's party speak with Izumi and Miles
- Izumi: Everything's settled down now. Very sorry that happened...
- Kitty: It's not your fault, Izumi.
- Kitty: What was up with those people?
- Kitty: Osiris was clearly just helping them. Why did they slander him as a White Cape?
- Kitty: Besides, are they blind? Osiris is a Furry Gyee!
- Osiris: ...
- Miles: Osiris, my brother, don't take it to heart.
- Miles: We rescued them just as they were about to be executed. They're still terrified, and it's likely that they were hallucinating.
- Miles: You may have lost your memories of the past, and nobody knows who you were before...
- Miles: But if you were a White Cape before...
- Miles: Then my Grey is the king of the wolves!
- Player: Haha, Miles is right. Don't take it to heart!
- Player: Osiris, it's time we get back to our day off~
- Osiris: Okay!
- Player: Izumi, Miles, we're leaving~
- Osiris: ...
- Three days later, you receive information about the mysterious disappearance of the White Capes.
- Aside from the fact that some Shadow Cultists had been spotted near the site of the disappearance...
- The report had no other valuable information.
- After getting the report, Player and Osiris go back to the harbor
- Player: Thank you, Osiris.
- Player: Even though we're going back empty handed...
- Osiris: Don't feel down, Player...
- Osiris: I've got a feeling...
- Osiris: That we're already getting close to the truth about the White Capes' disappearance.
- Player: Haha, I wish I had your optimism!
- Osiris: Now do you want to go to the Arcana Academy for the check-up, Player?
- Player: Yeah. Once a month, I need to visit Principal Vundo to check on the Wheel of Fate.
- Player: It's just a routine check-up, and it's on Never Isle. You can rest, Osiris. You don't need to go with me.
- Osiris: All right. I'll await your return on the airship.
- Player leaves
- Osiris: Hmm... Maybe I'll go to the Hottie Bar for a drink.
- Eddie: Hold up!
- Eddie finds Osiris at the harbor
- Eddie: Osiris, are you free now?
- Osiris: I'm unoccupied at the moment. Do you need help?
- Eddie: No, no. You and Player have already helped plenty with the investigation into the White Capes' disappearance.
- Eddie: That's why I wanted to treat you to a drink.
- Osiris: Okay! I was just thinking I would go have a drink at the Hottie Bar.
- Eddie: If we go to the Hottie Bar, then that would be you treating me, wouldn't it?
- Eddie: I know a tavern where the cocktails are as good as the Hottie Bar's.
- Osiris: Okay.
- A while later, at the entrance to the Arcana Academy...
- Vundo: Hold on a second, Player!
- Player: Huh?
- Player: Principal Vundo? Is there a problem with the Wheel of Fate?
- Vundo: The Wheel of Fate is fine.
- Vundo: But I found some special flux on your body.
- Player: Special flux?
- Vundo: Yes, a mysterious flux with similarities to light flux.
- Vundo: The last time you did your check, we didn't find anything like this.
- Vundo: So, Player, have you been anywhere strange lately, or have you come into contact with anything?
- Player: I don't think there's anything special about the places I've been recently.
- Player: Come into contact with anything...?
- Player: Oh!
- You remember the rune that Osiris recently gave you.
- Player: (Takes out medal) Could it be this?
- Vundo: Yeah! This must be it. But...what is it?
- Player: This is a rune that Osiris gave me.
- Vundo: Osiris's rune. That makes sense.
- Vundo: When the Arcana Academy first tested Osiris, we found something similar.
- Player: So...what does that mean?
- Vundo: It means...
- Vundo: Osiris may be blessed by the gods.
- Vundo: Ever since the Light Nexus was destroyed, light flux has been a rare sight in Luxium.
- Vundo: Of all the flux attributes, light flux is the most difficult to control.
- Vundo: Even among us Gyees, there are very few who can control light flux.
- Player: I see.
- Player: (So Osiris's radiant powers are actually light flux?)
- Player: (Incredible!)
- A while later, on Never Isle's main street.
- Player: Now that I'm done at the Arcana Academy, there's nothing on the schedule for the rest of the day.
- Player: What should I do with the time I have left?
- A Defense Force captain and three soldiers approach player
- Defense Force Captain: Mr. Player, will you take a walk with me?
- Defense Force Captain: We need your help.
- Player: ...
- Player: If you only need my help, why did you bring so many people with you?
- Defense Force Captain: It's at the commander's request.
- Defense Force Captain: For security.
- Player: Security... All right...
- Player: Let's go.
- Defense Force Captain: Please follow me...
- A while later, at the Defense Force jail.
- Player: ...
- Jail Warrior A: Hold on a moment, Player. I'll show you the way.
- Player: That won't be necessary. Just tell me where to go, I know the way!
- Player: Assuming you're a new to the Defense Force, I probably know the jail better than you do.
- Jail Warrior A: Actually, I'm not on the Defense Force.
- Jail Warrior B: Ahem!
- Player: Yes?
- Player: (He's not on the Defense Force? What could that mean?)
- Jail Warrior B: Please come with us, Mr. Player.
- Player: ...
- They lead Player to another area where General Will is waiting
- Player: General Will?
- Player: If you want to talk to me, there's no need to bring me all the way to the Defense Force jail.
- Will: I am sorry that I had to arrange our meeting like this, Player.
- Player: Okay. If you're scared, I shudder to think what intel the Order of Equality's spy network has come across.
- Player: I'm also assuming that since we're meeting in the Never Isle jail, this must be related to Never Isle's safety?
- Will: Yes, that's right...
- Player: So...what is it?
- Will: It's about Osiris.
- Player: Osiris?
- Player: By Ka, this again?!
- Will: Let me finish, Player.
- Will: We have reason to believe...
- Will: That Osiris's true identity is that of Yvres, Commander of the White Capes Special Forces!
- Player: What?
- Player: He's a Furry Gyee.
- Will: I know, I couldn't believe it when I first heard it, either.
- Player: You're not such a reckless person that you would come to this conclusion with your reasons.
- Player: So what's your proof?
- Will: First of all, Osiris's broken sword is made of Dragonium.
- Will: And aside from the senior members of the Shadowhunter and Never Isle leadership, only White Capes commanders use Dragonium.
- Will: In addition, even though it's damaged...
- Will: His sword looks exactly like that of White Capes Commander Yvres's. Moreover...
- Will: Every White Capes commander's weapon is totally unique.
- Player: I've tried using Osiris's sword before. It's very, very heavy.
- Player: I don't think a normal person is strong enough to lift this kind of sword.
- Player: Are you saying that the White Capes are now appointing Furry Gyees to be their leaders?
- Will: We are still investigating why Osiris is now a Furry Gyee.
- Will: Osiris's sword is indeed much larger than Yvres's sword was, according to our intelligence.
- Will: However, it would be quite a stretch to say that this was all just a coincidence.
- Player: You must have other reasons, too?
- Will: You must have taken notice of the golden medal Osiris wears on his waist, yes?
- Will: Eight months ago, the White Capes leadership enacted a special forces training plan.
- Will: And that ornament is the kind issued by the White Capes to the senior commanders of its special forces.
- Will: At the same time, our intel shows that eight months ago, Yvres was appointed the special forces' General-in-Command.
- Will: Suspiciously, a little over a month afterward, the special forces were forced to cancel their training plan for unknown reasons.
- Will: And that's when...
- Player: Osiris lost his memory and was found dying in the wilderness.
- Will: Correct.
- Will: Add to that the reactions of the Gyee refugees who saw Osiris a few days ago...
- Will: I think this is more or less confirmed.
- Player: More or less confirmed?
- Player: ...
- Player: General Will, this is all circumstantial evidence. It does not prove that Osiris was once a White Capes commander.
- Will: Player! Yvres is a butcher! Several years ago, countless Gyees were murdered by his hand!
- Will: Perhaps the Osiris we know now isn't that dangerous, but if he recovers his memory...
- Player: Then we'll just have to deal with that when he recovers his memory!
- Player: General Will, you've made yourself clear enough.
- Player: But to me, Osiris is more than just a friend!
- Player: Until you give clear, conclusive evidence...
- Player: I will never believe something absurd, like he's a White Cape!
- Player: If you'll excuse me, I'll be going now!
- Player leaves
- Light of Purity Warrior: General, the warriors outside are ready. Do we need to put Player in custody?
- Will: No...
- Will: There's no need.
- A while later, on the bridge of the airship.
- Billy: Captain, you're back!
- Player: Sigh...
- Billy: What's wrong, Captain?
- Player: Well...
- Player: ...It's nothing.
- Player: Where's Osiris?
- Billy: Eddie invited Osiris out for drinks this afternoon.
- Billy: He still hasn't come back yet.
- Player: Eddie?
- Player: Could it be?
- Player: Dammit...
- Player quickly runs for the exit
- Billy: Uh, Captain?
- Later, at the Light of Purity jail.
- Player: Eddie!
- Player tries to enter but is stopped by two warriors
- Light of Purity Warrior: Stop! This is the Light of Purity jail! Unauthorized personnel are not allowed inside!
- Player: Eddie! You'd better give me an explanation!
- Eddie: ...
- Eddie: Player is one of us.
- The two warriors step aside
- Player: 'Thank you for your help with the investigation into the White Capes disappearance?'
- Player: 'I want to treat you to a drink?'
- Player: I know you've got your orders...
- Player: But this kind of underhanded trick isn't like the Eddie I know.
- Eddie: ...
- Eddie: You may not believe me, but I never tricked Osiris!
- Eddie: At least, not at first...
- Player: Maybe, but that's not important.
- Player: I know you're keeping Osiris locked up in here!
- Player: Hand him over to me now, and we'll pretend like this never happened!
- Eddie: I'm sorry, I can't.
- Eddie: These are direct orders from General Will.
- Player: Eddie...
- Eddie: Player, I want to believe that Osiris is innocent.
- Eddie: More than that, I believe that the Order of Equality will return his innocence to him!
- Player: Osiris has been in Never Isle for just four months.
- Player: During this time, he has experienced too many false accusations like this.
- Player: Even if you can return his innocence, how are you going to repay him for all this time you kept him locked up against his will?
- Eddie: We... We will apologize!
- Eddie: We will compensate him to the best of our ability!
- Player: (Shakes head...)
- Player: Listen to what you're saying.
- Player: Eddie, I don't want to use force. Give Osiris to me!
- Eddie: ...
- Eddie: I can't!
- The warriors surrounding Player ready their weapons
- Player: It looks like there's no other way.
- Suddenly, a shot goes off that knocks Eddie and Sky unconscious
- Light of Purity Warrior: Someone's attacking Captain Eddie! Get him!
- More gunshots incapacitate the warriors surrounding Player
- Player: !!
- ???: Rubber bullets! Let them sleep it off.
- Player: Miles?
- Miles: Don't waste your time trying to reason with the Order of Equality.
- Miles: If they were capable of listening, the Gyees would be free already!
- Miles: Go. Do what you need to do!
- Player: Thank you!
- Deep inside the jail.
- Player: Osiris is imprisoned in one of these rooms.
- Boom!
- Player: An explosion?
- Player: It sounded like it came from deep inside the jail.
- Soon, Osiris comes running down the hallway
- Osiris: Player?
- Player: Osiris!
- You embrace Osiris.
- Player: Osiris, thank Ka you're okay.
- Osiris: Player...
- Player: Osiris, I heard an explosion. What happened?
- Osiris: I knocked out a guard and blew open the jail's wall.
- Player: (surprised)
- Osiris: I hate doing that to the Order of Equality, but they gave me no other choice.
- Player: No, you did the right thing. Let's get out of here.
- Osiris: I need your help, Player!
- Osiris: I want to recover my lost memories!
- Player: !!
- Player: But...I don't have any clues...
- Osiris: There is one place that will have clues!
- Late at night, in the forest east of Elysiann.
- Player: You don't need to do this, Osiris!
- Player: I remember back when we first met...
- Player: We were following a clue in the case of the White Capes' disappearance that brought us close to here...
- Osiris: Yeah, we found the remains of the White Capes.
- Osiris: Immediately afterward, I had a terrifying vision. My head felt like it was going to split open. I lost control, then fainted.
- Player: That's why I said we don't need to be here...
- Player: Look. You're getting by just fine without your lost memories.
- Osiris: The day those Gyee refugees came to Never Isle...
- Osiris: That injured refugee saw me and said I was a White Cape.
- Osiris: The look in his eyes, and the way he cursed me...
- Osiris: His hatred for me was far stronger than that of most strangers.
- Osiris: It was pure hate...
- Osiris: The kind of hate you can't fake, the kind that comes from the heart. It was absolute loathing.
- Player: ...
- Osiris: Thanks to you, Player, I was getting along quite well without my memories.
- Osiris: But if my past self hurt people...
- Osiris: And I used 'amnesia' as an excuse to escape punishment...
- Osiris: That would be wrong.
- Osiris: If I used an excuse like 'amnesia' to escape responsibility, I wouldn't be worthy of standing by your side, Player!
- Osiris: Returning to the forest might be the only way I can get my memories back!
- Player: ...
- Player: ...
- Player: I understand.
- Player: Getting your memories back won't be easy, Osiris...
- Player: But don't worry! I will be right here!
- Player: Besides, it doesn't matter what kind of person you were before, or who you used to be in the past.
- Player: I will always stand by your side!
- Osiris: (smiles)
- Player: Let's go!
- You arrive at the site where you found the remains of the White Capes before.
- After four months, there is almost no trace of them left.
- Player: Osiris, I think I found something.
- Osiris: Oh! That's...
- You find an armor fragment in the mud.
- It appears to have been a White Cape's armor.
- However, you don't remember any White Capes wearing armor quite like this...
- Osiris: Uh...
- Osiris grips his head
- Osiris: Ah!!!
- Osiris: Don't come closer! Stay away!
- Player: Osiris!
- Osiris: Leave them alone! Let them go!
- You grabs Osiris by the waist...
- Player: I'm here, Osiris.
- Player: Don't worry, I'm here!
- Osiris: Ughhhh!
- Osiris: Uh...
- Osiris: Player?
- Player: Osiris?
- Player: Welcome back, Osiris!
- Osiris: Huff, puff...
- Player: You look terrible.
- Player: Let's rest a bit.
- Osiris: I'm about to remember...
- Osiris: We need to keep going.
- Osiris: Follow me!
- A while later, deep in the forest.
- Player: What's this?
- Osiris: This is where Rehoboam found me.
- Player: ...
- Osiris: Ugh...
- Osiris: I... I remember.
- Osiris: I fled here.
- Player: Fled? Why?
- Osiris: I don't know...
- Osiris: But...
- Osiris: I remember that I was here...
- Deeper in the forest...
- Osiris: Player, here!
- Player: What's up?
- Player: Oh!
- You notice that the color of the ground under your feet has changed.
- Osiris: The grass here is a little lighter than the turf around it.
- Osiris: And the surrounding turf is obviously thicker.
- Player: There's a secret door here. It hasn't been opened in a long time.
- You try opening the secret door, but no matter how hard you try, it doesn't budge.
- Player: The grass around here has grown over the secret door, I don't think I can open it.
- Osiris: Step back, Player.
- Osiris: I'm going to smash it open!
- Osiris: Hya!
- Osiris breaks down the door and leads Player down the tunnel
- In the forest to the northeast of Elysiann, underground.
- Osiris: Whoa!
- Player: By Ka, I had no idea that such a facility was hidden under the forest.
- Player: Judging by the thickness of the dust on the floor...
- Player: This place has been abandoned for at least half a year.
- Player: Does this place seem familiar to you, Osiris?
- Osiris: Not yet...
- Osiris: Maybe we'll find our answer deeper inside.
- Player: Yes.
- As the two go deeper into the underground facility, something gives Osiris pause
- Osiris: Player!
- Player: Yeah, I felt it.
- Player: It's faint, but...
- Player: A little shadow flux has been left here.
- Osiris: Shadows...
- Osiris: This can't be a good sign...
- Player: There are marks on the wall where it's been dented by impacts.
- Player: There are traces of shadow flux in these dents, and this color...
- Player: It would seem a shadow demon was beaten up against this wall.
- Osiris: A shadow demon...
- Osiris grips his head again
- Osiris: Well!!
- Player: Osiris?
- Osiris: I'm running away...
- As Osiris closes his eyes, he sees his past memory playing back to him
- Osiris runs down the same hallway
- Osiris: Huff, puff...
- Osiris: I need to get out of here...
- Osiris: And tell everything... Everything that happened here...
- Shadow Pursuer: Stop him! Don't let him get away!
- Osiris: Uh...
- He keeps running through the maze of the facility
- Osiris: Focus, focus...
- Shadow Demon: We got him!
- Osiris gets surrounded by a large contingent of Shadow forces
- Osiris: (angry)
- Osiris: Ugh. Don't come closer. Get...
- Osiris: Get...
- Osiris: Get out of my way!
- Osiris attacks the Shadow
- Back in the present...
- Player: So you were chased by the shadows, and shadow demons caught you as you were making your escape.
- Player: You killed those shadow demons.
- Osiris: Yeah...
- Player: But based on how you described it...
- Player: The shadows that were chasing you weren't a match for you. So why did you decide to run?
- Osiris: I don't know...
- Osiris: It would seem I didn't know that I was strong enough to beat them at the time.
- Player: Yeah...
- Osiris: Let's keep going. The answer could be up ahead.
- Player: Yeah!
- A few moments later...
- Player and Osiris arrive in a room with lots of laboratory equipment
- Player: It looks like we've reached the core area of the underground facility.
- Player: Just now, we must have been in one of the passageways leading here.
- Suddenly, you smell the scent of blood.
- Player: Ugh, this smell...
- Osiris: ...
- Player: This place has been abandoned for half a year, yet I can still smell blood...
- Player: What happened here?
- The two search the area
- A few moments later...
- Player: The Shadowcult Mages were killed here, this is where the shadow monsters appeared...
- Player: Here are some burnt books, the remains of some strange laboratory instruments, and some shadow flux...
- Player: A big fight happened here.
- Osiris: The dents on the ground, walls, and in the passageway, look like...
- Osiris: I was involved in the fight.
- Player: There's no doubt that this was some kind of shadow research facility.
- Player: Whatever it was, it's a good thing you smashed it to pieces!
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: Oh!
- Osiris seems to have noticed something.
- Osiris: Player, over there!
- Osiris leads player to what look like four White Cape soldiers on the ground
- Player: A dead White Cape?
- Osiris: No. This is just an empty suit of armor. There's nothing inside.
- Player: This place looks like it was hit by a tornado.
- Player: So what's with the full set of perfectly intact White Capes armor?
- Osiris: I don't know...
- Osiris: Ugh!
- Player: Osiris?
- Osiris: Oo... hmm...
- Osiris's whole body is shaking.
- Player: What's going on, Osiris?
- You turn to see what Osiris was looking at, and notice an ornament on the White Cape armor.
- You see a golden decoration in the shape of a teardrop. It's the first time you've ever seen this kind of decoration on such armor.
- The shape of the ornament matches the one in Osiris's beard exactly.
- Player: Oh!!
- Osiris grips his head
- Osiris: Rrgh, rahhh!!!
- Osiris: No!
- Osiris: Why...
- Osiris: Why are you trying to kill me?
- Player: Osiris, what's happening?
- Osiris: Player...
- Osiris: They were right! They were all right!
- Osiris: I...
- Osiris: I am...
- Player: W... what?
- Osiris: I remember, I remember everything!
- Player: So...what happened?!
- Osiris: That day, we were training in the wilderness like normal.
- Seven months ago, in the forest to the northwest of Elysiann.
- Pained Yell: Ahh!! Monsters! Mon- AH!
- Pained Yell: The Shadows are tearing us apart! Ahh!!
- White Capes Elite B: General! All of the warriors who joined the training have been wiped out.
- Yvres: By the Holy Light...
- White Capes Elite A: We hand-picked those veterans. They shouldn't have been beaten so easily...
- Yvres: There's something fishy about those Shadows. We need to hide. Do not engage them in battle!
- ???: There's no point in hiding. I can smell your fear...
- White Capes Elite A: General, the Shadows have discovered my position. I'm surrounded!
- White Capes Elite B: Me too...
- White Capes Elite C: But it doesn't look like they want to attack. Why?
- Yvres: Hmm... I'll distract their leader. You four make a run for it.
- White Capes Elite B: General!
- Yvres: Monsters!
- ???: So you've chosen to come out of hiding all on your own?
- ???: You. Capture him!
- A dozen Shadows surround Yvres.
- However, none of them are a match for him in combat. In less than two minutes, Yvres wipes them all out.
- Yvres: Gather the light. Become the blade of your compatriots, and eliminate evil!
- Yvres gathers the White Capes' holy light power and unleashes it all in a single strike.
- Yvres: Protect me, Holy Light!
- ???: Interesting! If only...
- White Capes Elite A: What? That was the general's most powerful attack...
- White Capes Elite B: That guy didn't even suffer a scratch?
- In a flash, the Shadow Leader appears before Yvres.
- Yvres: What? Ugh...
- ???: Grab those members of the Sword of Light who have hidden away.
- ???: They are physically strong, and mentally stronger than the average warrior.
- ???: They will make valuable subjects for our experiments...
- ...
- The Shadow have captured the White Capes and placed them in individual arcana cells
- Yvres wakes up
- Yvres: Ugh...
- Yvres: Hey!
- Yvres: Where are we?
- White Capes Elite A: General, you're awake! Thank the Holy Light....
- White Capes Elite B: We...don't know where we are, either.
- White Capes Elite C: We were captured by the Shadows, then when we woke up...
- Yvres: Huh? There are only three of you?
- Yvres: Someone wasn't captured?
- White Capes Elite A: Uh, General...
- White Capes Elite B: He's already...
- Yvres: What is going on?
- A large Shadow Demon enters with two of his Shadowcult mages
- The mages carry in a small chest
- ???: The person you're looking for is in this small box.
- ???: Or perhaps I should say, his remains are in this small box.
- ???: After all, his flesh and blood have been vaporized into thin air.
- ???: All that's left of him is this filthy armor.
- ???: Filthy though it is, it is still holds value as a result of our research.
- Yvres: No way!
- Yvres: Do not try to break our will with your lies!
- ???: I am telling the truth.
- ???: Believe me or not, it doesn't matter. You will see with your own eyes soon enough.
- Yvres: What?!
- ???: Considering we've already extracted the data from the last failed experiment and have made the necessary improvements...
- ???: Perhaps you will witness your warriors reap the rewards!
- White Capes Elite C: What...what are you planning?
- Yvres: You're going to corrupt us!
- ???: No!
- ???: I want to transform you...
- ???: Into Gyee beasts!
- White Capes Elite B: What? You're going to turn us into those nasty creatures?
- Yvres: That will never happen!
- ???: That's not up to you...
- ???: To be honest, it's not up to me, either. But I wonder. Between getting vaporized or becoming a Gyee beast...
- ???: Which you would prefer?
- ???: Start the experiment!
- The Shadowcult mages begin to use their flux on one of the White Cape prisoners
- White Capes Elite C: Urgh...
- White Capes Elite C: Uh...
- White Capes Elite C: Ahhhhhh!
- Yvres: Stop it! Stop it this instant!
- White Capes Elite C: Ahhh!!!
- They kill him
- White Capes Elite B: Urgh...Ugh...Ack...
- White Capes Elite A: Heavens... Ka, please...
- Yvres: ...
- ???: That's enough. This experiment was a failure.
- ???: Notify the research team! Optimize the experiment. Research subjects of this quality are not easy to come by!
- Yvres: What did you do?
- Yvres: In the name of the Holy Light, I will kill all of you!
- Back in the present...
- Player: The Shadows wanted to turn mundanes into furries?!
- Player: But whether someone is Gyee or mundane is determined by birth!
- Player: How can this be?
- Osiris: ...
- Player: ...
- Osiris: Over the following days, that monster killed the remaining two warriors before my eyes.
- ...
- In the Shadows' research facility, only Yvres is left
- Yvres: Kill me. Just kill me!
- ???: It will be your turn soon enough.
- Yvres: Who are you? Tell me your name...
- Yvres: So that I can curse you a thousand times before Ka Himself!
- ???: Oh? Well then, I'll tell you.
- Shadow Reaper: I am a Shadow Reaper. I report directly to the great Shadowlord.
- Yvres: Reaper...
- Shadow Reaper: Satisfied?
- Yvres: ...
- Shadow Reaper: Prepare the experiment!
- Shadow Reaper: If we do not yield results, the Shadowlord will not spare us!
- Shadowcult Mage: My lord, the eruption of light flux from a few months ago has been affecting our experiments. I don't know if this time...
- Shadow Reaper: Don't tell me you've forgotten the purpose of our experiments?
- Shadow Reaper: The Shadowlord had us build this lab to address the light flux eruption!
- Shadow Reaper: We've already performed this experiment many times. We know how to eliminate the effects of the light flux!
- Shadow Reaper: Start the experiment!
- Yvres: Brothers, I am coming...
- On the orders of the Shadow Reaper, the Shadowcult mages begin to focus their flux on Yvres
- Yvres: Hngh...
- Yvres: Huff, puff...
- A strange power begins to change Yvres
- Yvres: Whoa...
- Shadowcult Mage: My lord, his bone density is increasing. His muscle strength is off the charts!
- Shadow Reaper: Stabilize his condition. We've already wasted too many subjects!
- Yvres: Ahh...
- Shadowcult Mage: His skin can no longer contain his muscles. It's beginning to split open...
- Shadowcult Mage: The stability of the flux in his body has started to improve. He has started to transform into a Gyee!
- Shadow Reaper: Good! We're almost there!
- Yvres: Ugh... Ugh...
- Shadowcult Mage: Hold on, this isn't right. The flux in his body's becoming too strong!
- Shadowcult Mage: This can't be! Mundanes aren't capable of possessing such potential!
- Shadow Reaper: This man...is a Gyee?!
- Yvres: Ahhh!!!
- Shadow Reaper: What's happening? Why do I feel my flux draining?
- Shadowcult Mage: It's because his flux has gotten too strong. He's subconsciously controlling the flux in this area!
- Shadowcult Mage: He's like a black hole sucking up all the flux!
- Shadowcult Mage: The flux level of this human is increasingly exponentially!
- Shadowcult Mage: It's already broken our equipment!
- Shadowcult Mage: We need to stop the experiment!
- Yvres: Ahhh!!!
- Shadowcult Mage: The equipment's broken. We've stopped the experiment!
- Shadow Reaper: Then why is he still condensing flux?
- Shadowcult Mage: I don't know...
- Shadow Reaper: Monster!
- Yvres: Ahhh!!!
- Shadowcult Mage: It's not just the flux...he's sucking up the physical objects nearby, too!
- Shadowcult Mage: Why has his sword gotten so large?
- Osiris: Ahhhhhh!
- In Yvres's place now stands the giant Furry Gyee, Osiris
- Osiris: Phew.
- Osiris: Huff, puff...
- Shadowcult Mage: ...is it over?
- Shadow Reaper: Success!
- Shadow Reaper: Obey the Shadows, you beast!
- Osiris: D...die...
- Shadow Reaper: What?
- Shadowcult Mage: Our equipment was damaged in the storm. We can't control his mind!
- Shadowcult Mage: Activate the defense barrier!
- The mages raise a barrier
- Osiris: Hya!
- Osiris swings his sword, breaking the barrier
- Osiris: ...
- Shadowcult Mage: He used his broken sword to tear open the Shadow arcana. How is this possible?
- Osiris: Arooo...
- Osiris goes on a rampage
- Osiris: Ahhh!!!
- No Shadow are left alive in the laboratory
- Osiris: Die... You must all die...
- Osiris: Uh...
- Osiris: Huff, puff...
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: Brothers...
- Osiris walks over to where the Shadowcult mages placed the armor of his four fallen comrades
- Osiris: May your souls return to Ka's embrace...
- Osiris: Uh...
- Osiris: I need to get out of here...
- Osiris runs
- Shadow Reaper: Damn it, I lost a clone...
- Shadow Reaper: Get him! Don't let him get away!
- A while later, outside the transformation lab...
- Osiris escapes back to the forest
- Osiris: Huff, puff...
- Osiris: Phew.
- Osiris: Huff...
- Threatening Voice: Who's there?
- Osiris: Rgh!
- Osiris spots three White Capes soldiers
- Osiris: It's the Sword of Light...
- Osiris: Brothers... Listen to me...
- Osiris begins to approach
- White Capes Soldier A: Don't come any closer!
- They ready their swords
- Osiris: Put down your weapons! It's me, General Yvres...
- Osiris: I found...the Shadow lab...
- Osiris: Ugh...
- Suddenly, Osiris collapses
- White Capes Soldier A: He's still alive, but he passed out. What should we do?
- White Capes Soldier B: He's a furry yellow eyes. What else can we do?
- The soldier swings his sword
- White Capes Soldier B: Such a degenerate creature...
- White Capes Soldier B: We need to kill it!
- Back in the present...
- Player: So your former comrades wanted to kill you.
- Osiris: Now, I finally understand the meaning and reason behind those nightmares.
- Player: When we first met, your body was trembling.
- Player: Like even if you were sleeping, there was an alertness you couldn't let go of.
- Player: So that's why...
- Then...
- Osiris and Player get back to the forest
- Player: Where did the name 'Osiris' come from? Rehoboam said he found this name on some tattered cloth you had.
- Osiris: It's similar to the codename that the upper echelons of the Sword of Light use for the special forces squad.
- Player: ...
- Player: So you're General of the White Capes, Yvres.
- Player: No wonder you're so courageous and fearless, proficient in tactics and command, understand tracking, are familiar with armor, can recognize Dragonium with a single glance, and are focused and dedicated to others.
- Player: Everything makes sense now.
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: Before I became Osiris...
- Osiris: I had complete faith in the Sword of Light's creed. I was absolutely loyal.
- Osiris: I would follow every single command issued by my superiors to the letter.
- Osiris: Now, I know...
- Osiris: They were all lies!
- Osiris: 'Gather the light. Become the blade of your compatriots, and eliminate evil!' This was the battle cry I'd written for the special forces squad. What a joke...
- Osiris: Now it is clear to me, I am evil!
- Player: It's not your fault, Osiris.
- Player: You were also the victim of a lie.
- Player: Besides, you didn't know you were a Gyee.
- Osiris: That is exactly why I cannot be forgiven!
- Player: ...
- Osiris: I am a Gyee, yet I personally ordered the slaughter of countless Gyees like me.
- Osiris: I killed the loved ones who protected them...
- Player: Osiris...
- Airship Loudspeaker: Osiris, Player, you have violated the law. Stay where you are and do not resist arrest!
- Player: It's an Order of Equality airship!
- General Will along with Eddie and many Order of Equality soldiers descend on their location
- Eddie: Player, Osiris, please do not resist!
- Will: Player, the Order of Equality has obtained irrefutable evidence that Osiris is actually General of the White Capes, Yvres!
- Player: ...
- Player: (Whispers) Osiris, get ready to run on my command...
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris gently embraces you.
- His body is very warm.
- You suddenly feel something wet on your head.
- Player: Osiris?
- Osiris kisses your forehead softly.
- Osiris: (smiles)
- He removes his right hand from your face and lowers it.
- Suddenly, his forearm tenses.
- Your consciousness fades.
- Player: (I can't speak...) (Osiris... No...)
- Airship Loudspeaker: Heavens, he's attacking Player!
- Osiris lowers Player's body to the ground
- Osiris: I abducted Player so that I could escape Never Isle.
- Osiris: You'll never take me alive!
- Continue to Intimacy Level 12
Shining Light
People did not remember the light that they abandoned until the darkness devoured the land.
- Never Isle, in the Defense Force jail.
- Defense Force Warrior A: Did you go to the White Cape's execution yesterday?
- Defense Force Warrior B: Sadly, I was on duty yesterday and couldn't go. I heard the plaza was packed.
- Defense Force Warrior A: Ha! It was nothing but people, as far as the eyes could see!
- Defense Force Warrior A: After all, it was that notorious White Capes butcher who murdered countless Gyee!
- Defense Force Warrior B: Osiris, ugh... And to think I liked that big guy.
- Defense Force Warrior A: His name was Yvres! He was a White Cape! Don't tell me you like White Capes now?!
- Defense Force Warrior B: He may have been evil from head-to-toe, but he did help us out a lot.
- Defense Force Warrior A: That was part of his devious disguise!
- Defense Force Warrior B: He did save your life, though.
- Defense Force Warrior A: That was part of the disguise, too! However you feel is secondary to justice for our people!
- Defense Force Warrior B: As for Osiris, let's just leave it at that.
- Another Defense Force warrior joins the conversation
- Defense Force Warrior C: Are you standing up for that traitor?
- Defense Force Warrior C: Just whose side are on, anyway? Are you a conspirator for the White Capes, too?!
- Defense Force Warrior B: Hey now, watch it with that kind of talk!
- Defense Force Warrior B: All right. I'm keeping my mouth shut. I don't want any trouble.
- Defense Force Warrior A: We are Gyees. If we do not stand united, how can we hope to fight our common enemy?
- Defense Force Warrior C: As I said before, that black devil was no good. If only you'd listened to me sooner...
- Miles interrupts
- Miles: Haven't you all had enough chit-chat?
- Miles: This is the Defense Force jail, not some girls' slumber party!
- Defense Force Warrior A: Who do you think you are?
- Defense Force Warrior A: Isn't this our new guard?
- Defense Force Warrior C: He's the one who got involved with that traitor and got his butt busted all the way back here.
- Defense Force Warrior C: You looking to get demoted again?
- Defense Force Warrior B: ...
- Miles: Humph. So what if I got demoted here? I'm still higher-ranking than you lot!
- Defense Force Warrior A: Damn you, you have any idea whose territory this is?
- Defense Force Warrior C: We oughta beat the snot outta you!
- Miles: Sure, I've still got a little fire in my belly from getting demoted!
- Miles: Let me just start off by saying, I don't mind fighting at all.
- Miles: But if you get hurt...
- Miles: Or if you die...
- Miles: Don't come crying to me about it.
- Defense Force Warrior A: Hmm...
- Defense Force Warrior C: Wait!
- The warriors run away
- Miles: Humph! Pathetic!
- Player: What's the meaning of this?
- Player yells from his cell
- Miles: I can't stand their revolting behavior!
- Miles: Osiris cannot be forgiven for what he did, but two of these three guys owe him their lives!
- Player: Forget it...
- Player: When Osiris was still alive, people couldn't stop running their mouths about him.
- Player: So why would they stop now that he's dead?
- Player: Do whatever you want.
- Miles: You need to pull yourself together, Player!
- Miles: This isn't the Player I know!
- Player: Pull myself together? What are you getting at?
- Player: Osiris, whatever people think about him, never took out his anger on anyone. From beginning to end, he was always himself.
- Player: He never hurt anyone. On the contrary, when people needed support, he'd lend them a helping hand.
- Player: He was obviously very strong, but only ever wanted to use his power to protect his companions, and he only ever bared his fangs to those he'd call his enemies.
- Player: Compared with Osiris, I'm the truly evil one...
- Player: But in the end, look at what happened.
- Miles: ...
- Miles: Anyway, my superiors have ordered me to release you tomorrow, Player.
- Miles: When that happens, let's have a drink together.
- Player: You can tell your 'superiors' that I don't care about them locking me up the past few days.
- Player: I'm used to it by now.
- Suddenly, Grey's ears perk up.
- Miles: ...
- Miles: Stay right there, Player!
- Miles leaves
- Player: Don't worry, there isn't anywhere I can go, anyway. Besides...
- Player: There isn't anywhere I want to go.
- Miles: Whoa!
- Grey: Arwoo...
- Player: This voice?
- Player: Miles?
- Player: Don't play with me, Miles!
- Rehoboam and Caspar come in
- Player: You've got to be kidding me!
- Player: Rehoboam?!
- Rehoboam: Don't worry, Caspar knows how to pull his punches. Your friend is just taking a short 'nap'...
- Player: Rehoboam...
- Player: I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!
- Player: I was unable to protect Osiris...
- Player: I got him killed.
- Player: I never should have brought him to Never Isle!
- Rehoboam: Stop, Player!
- Player: It's all my fault!
- Rehoboam: Player!!!
- Player: Uh...
- Rehoboam: There is no time to get emotional, Player!
- Rehoboam: Osiris is still alive!
- Player: What?
- Player: Rehoboam, maybe you haven't heard. Osiris...
- Rehoboam: Was hanged in public twelve hours ago, I know.
- Rehoboam: Billy and Kitty found me a couple days ago and told me everything. I didn't get the chance to approach you yesterday.
- Player: ...
- Rehoboam: This isn't the first time that this has happened to Osiris.
- Player: What do you mean?
- Rehoboam: When I first found him in the forest, he wasn't just beaten black and blue.
- Rehoboam: With my naked eye, I could see over a dozen injuries, all serious enough to be fatal.
- Player: Yeah, when Osiris got his memories back, he told me that his former 'brothers' personally...
- Player: Killed him...
- Player: Oh. If Osiris died at the hands of the White Capes, then how did he...
- Rehoboam: Come back?
- Player: I originally thought that the White Capes had left him alive on accident, or were merciful and pulled their punches...
- Player: But even those White Capes scumbags know how to get the job done when it comes to killing people.
- Rehoboam: For some reason, Osiris's body contains both pure light flux and shadow flux.
- Rehoboam: Usually, these two kinds of flux would be mutually exclusive. But in Osiris's body, they've found a balance.
- Rehoboam: You should know that while shadow flux is evil, it's also very powerful.
- Rehoboam: These two powerful energies resonated in Osiris's body to give him a constitution that far exceeds that of normal people.
- Rehoboam: Not only that, he can never be corrupted by the Shadows!
- Rehoboam: Osiris will be the key to our future fight against the Shadows!
- Rehoboam: Consequently, the Shadows are also aware of this problem. If he were to be used by the Shadows...
- Player: Rehoboam...
- Player: I'm not thinking about the Shadow War right now.
- Player: The fate of Luxium will have to wait for another time.
- Player: It was a mistake bringing Osiris here to Never Isle. I don't want to...
- Rehoboam: Then what about what Osiris wanted?
- Player: Osiris...
- Rehoboam: After you left Elysiann, Osiris would occasionally write to me.
- Rehoboam: Every letter he wrote was about you.
- Rehoboam: He was very happy to get to spend every day with you.
- Rehoboam: Do you know how badly he wanted to stay with you?
- Player: ...
- You remember the letter Osiris left for you.
- "Truly, I want to become your hero."
- Player: I know!
- Player: But this arcana barrier was very solid. Now matter how hard I tried...
- Rehoboam: (Waves hand) Let's go!
- Rehoboam instantly dispels Player's prison
- Rehoboam: First, we need to find Osiris's body.
- A while later, at the morgue beneath the Defense Force's jail.
- Rehoboam: I've dealt with the guards!
- Player searches the bodies
- Player: Osiris!
- Player: ...
- Rehoboam: What's wrong?
- Player: Osiris. He isn't here...
- Rehoboam: ...
- Rehoboam: Does this mean they already dealt with the body?
- Player: No. That's not possible. According to the Defense Force's regulations, remains aren't to be disposed of for at least two days. Osiris was executed only ten hours ago...
- Rehoboam: Which means...
- Rehoboam: The Shadows! We're too late!
- Rehoboam: Let's split up and look around, Player! The Shadows must have left a trail behind!
- Player: Yeah!
- A few moments later...
- Player: There are some traces of shadow flux here.
- Player: And a familiar feeling... Osiris must have been here.
- Rehoboam: There are signs of a shadow portal here.
- Rehoboam: I'm going to reverse track their portal's location. Hold on...
- Rehoboam reopens the portal
- Rehoboam: Done!
- Player: Incredible!
- Defense Force Warrior: Who are you?
- Three Defense Force warriors surprise them
- Defense Force Warrior: Where's the big black guy? What did you do with him?
- Rehoboam: ...
- Rehoboam: Tell your commanding officer that the Defense Force has a shadow traitor in its midst!
- Rehoboam: You ready, Player?
- Player: Of course!
- Player, Rehoboam and Caspar use the portal to teleport away
- Defense Force Warrior: They disappeared!
- Defense Force Warrior: Sound the alarm! Notify the commander!
- Meanwhile, somewhere in Luxium.
- In a dark forest, four Shadowcult Mages consult with each other over Osiris's body
- Shadowcult Mage: Incredible. This is the only successful subject of the Gyee conversion plan?
- Shadowcult Mage: Cut the chit-chat and get to work!
- Shadowcult Mage: We're currently extracting data about the conversion experiment from the target's body.
- Shadowcult Mage: We're making good progress. We'll soon learn everything the master wants to know about this fellow.
- Shadowcult Mage: The master's brilliant plan for human-to-beast conversion is on the cusp of being a great success!
- Suddenly a portal opens near them
- Shadowcult Mage: Huh? Why's the portal to Never Isle open?
- Player, Rehoboam and Caspar appear
- Shadowcult Mage: What? Who are you guys?
- Rehoboam: We're the last people you'll ever see!
- Rehoboam: Caspar!
- Caspar: Hya!
- A few moments later...
- Player: They're all dead.
- Player: Osiris!
- Player: Hey, Osiris...
- You touch Osiris's shoulder.
- Osiris lies there quietly, as if asleep.
- His muscles are still as taut as they've always been, his fur as soft and bouncy as it's always been.
- Even though you can't sense his breathing or heartbeat...
- You know Rehoboam is right - Osiris is still alive!
- Player: What should I do, Rehoboam?
- Rehoboam: Grasp his hand. Let him know you're here.
- Rehoboam: I'll try using arcana to wake him up.
- You grasp Osiris's hand.
- Rehoboam raises his hand and focuses his flux on Osiris but nothing happens
- Rehoboam: Ugh...
- Player: How's it going, Rehoboam?
- Rehoboam: Osiris, he...doesn't want to wake up.
- Player: What do you mean?
- Rehoboam: This is a subconscious behavior.
- Rehoboam: When Osiris was still alive, he'd completely accepted the fact that he was going to die, and he firmly believed that his death was the only way he could achieve his objective.
- Player: He didn't want me to be implicated. He still wanted to protect me.
- Caspar: Master! Something's approaching, and fast!
- Rehoboam: Stand behind my barrier, Player!
- Player: !!
- The Shadow Reaper and multiple Shadow Demons teleport around them
- Rehoboam's barrier absorbs a massive attack from the Shadow Reaper
- Shadow Reaper: So you can withstand my shadow strike, huh?
- Rehoboam: Shadows...
- Player: This Shadow's flux is on another level. Be careful, Rehoboam...
- Player: It's a Shadow Reaper!
- Shadow Reaper: Huh. So you know who I am...
- Shadow Reaper: Well then, please kindly hand the beast's corpse over to me.
- Shadow Reaper: He is my test subject, after all.
- Player: You...
- Player: So you're the Shadow who was in charge of the conversion experiment.
- Player: Osiris killed you! You should be dead!
- Shadow Reaper: That beast is rather strong, it's true, but he's not nearly strong enough to defeat the Shadowlord's reaper!
- Shadow Reaper: I don't have time to chat with you. Hand him over!
- Player: Not a chance!
- Player: I won't let you profane Osiris any more, even if it kills me!
- Shadow Reaper: Then kill you, I shall.
- Shadow Reaper: And here I was, thinking I'd make it quick and painless for you.
- Shadow Reaper: Servants of the Shadows! Kill them!
- Player: (angry)
- Rehoboam: Caspar and I will deal with the Shadows! You go wake up Osiris!
- Player: Rehoboam, there's too many of them. You can't...
- Rehoboam: These middling Shadow minions are no match for Caspar.
- Rehoboam: The problem is that reaper. He's too strong.
- Rehoboam: Only Osiris has any chance of beating him!
- Player: !!
- Player: I see!
- Rehoboam: Caspar!
- Caspar: I'm ready, Master!
- Caspar and Rehoboam continues to fend off the Shadow while Player tries to wake up Osiris
- A few moments later...
- Player: Osiris, I'm begging you. Please, wake up!
- The Shadows keep growing in number, but it doesn't matter how you call him...
- Osiris doesn't move.
- Player: Osiris, why?!
- Caspar: Uhn...
- Rehoboam: Caspar!
- Caspar: Don't worry about me, Master.
- Caspar: I can still fight!
- Player: Caspar's flux is fluctuating...
- Player: There are Shadows everywhere. I'm not sure there's anything we can do against this many...
- Player: So I might as well say what I want to say...
- Player: We haven't had a heart-to-heart since you got your memory back.
- Player: This seems like the perfect opportunity.
- Player: It's interesting. Ever since I met you, we've been so busy.
- Player: Helping other people with their problems, helping them with their investigations.
- Player: When you look at it like that, we didn't get much alone time together.
- Player: We didn't get many chances to speak from the heart.
- Player: Osiris, I know you're staying asleep because you want to protect me.
- Player: But do you remember what I said before? No matter what happened in your past, I would always be by your side. We would always bear the burden together.
- Player: But you took the whole burden of the past on yourself and left me out of it...
- Player: ...
- Player: You always used to say that I'd already helped you enough, that you owed me too much.
- Player: But actually, it's I that owes you.
- Player: Not just because you saved my life...
- Player: But more than that, because you gave me hope...
- Player: With you by my side, I knew I was safe.
- Player: Even when it seemed like the situation was hopeless, as long as you had my back, we always pulled through!
- Player: You helped me finally believe that, when all is said and done, this world is a good place.
- Player: You helped me believe that every injury and every drop of blood shed was worth it.
- You take out the golden cross Osiris gave you.
- You take the cross and put it in Osiris's hand and press it there with your palm.
- Player: See? Your radiance is always giving me warmth, shining down on me, protecting me.
- Player: But I...
- Player: Oh...
- Caspar continues to fight but is getting overwhelmed
- Rehoboam: That reaper's power is only getting stronger!
- Rehoboam: Caspar!
- Caspar: Oof... Master... I can still fight...
- Caspar: I believe, Player. I believe...
- Caspar: Osiris!
- Player continues to talk to Osiris
- Player: Osiris, you...
- Player: You're just a big fool!
- Player: Why?
- Player: All you know is helping people, taking care of people, forgiving people.
- Player: Even when you were locked away in prison awaiting execution by your own kind, you still only thought of other people...
- Player: I'm sorry, I'm not like you. I'm not as kind as you are.
- Player: I'm selfish.
- Player: I...
- Player: I can't leave you. I want you to come back...
- Player: I...
- Player: Want you to be my bodyguard again.
- Player: I...
- Player: Love you...
- Player: ...
- Rehoboam: Caspar!
- Player: ...
- Player: Looks like our time's almost up, Osiris.
- Player: I told you, no matter what happened...
- Player: I'd always be by your side.
- Shadow Monster: Rooaaarrr!
- More Shadow monsters converge on Player but he protects Osiris's body with his own
- Player: I will always be by your side...
- Player: Until I breathe my last breath...
- Shadow Reaper: Kill them!
- Suddenly, a light shines within Osiris and he springs up, sword in hand
- Rehoboam: (smiles)
- Player: (surprised)
- Osiris: Sorry, I'm late. Are you guys all right?
- Player: (smiles)
- Player: Osiris!
- Shadow Reaper: You beat my underlings with a single strike...
- Osiris: I may not have been able to kill you back in that evil lab, but you won't be getting away this time!
- Shadow Reaper: Kill me? What an arrogant thing to say!
- The Shadow Reaper begins to gather Shadow flux around himself
- Player: Ugh! He's gotten stronger, how can this be?
- Shadow Reaper: You're going to pay for your insolent words!
- Osiris begins to channel flux into a blue aura around himself
- Osiris: Rrragh!
- Player: Osiris, what's wrong?
- Rehoboam: This isn't good. The Shadow Reaper's shadow flux is too powerful!
- Rehoboam: The balance between light flux and shadow flux in Osiris's body is going to break!
- Shadow Reaper: I know your tricks! Your mind belongs to the Shadows now!
- Player: Osiris!
- Osiris: Ahhhhhh!
- Osiris: No!
- Osiris: I am Osiris! I am...
- Osiris: Player's...
- Osiris: Hero!
- Osiris raises his glowing sword
- Osiris: Gather the light...
- Osiris: Become the blade of your compatriots...
- Osiris: Become Master Rehoboam's blade...
- Osiris: Become Player's blade...
- Osiris: Eliminate...
- Osiris: Evil!
- The party battles the Shadow Reaper
- As the battle rages on, Osiris gathers the flux around his broken sword to complete it and create a Sword of Brilliance
- In one mighty swing, Osiris lands a fatal hit on the Shadow Reaper
- Osiris: (angry)
- Shadow Reaper: Ugh... My energy... It's all gone...
- Shadow Reaper: Is this...what death feels like?
- Shadow Reaper: This is how powerful humans have gotten?
- Shadow Reaper: I finally got... The last piece of data...
- Shadow Reaper: I'm sorry, Master... I can no longer serve you...
- The Shadow Reaper dies
- Player: Did we... win?
- Rehoboam: There's no sign of the reaper's shadow flux anymore...
- Rehoboam: Yeah!
- Osiris: Player!
- Player: Osiris!
- Osiris gives you a big bear hug.
- The two of you embrace one another in a passionate kiss.
- Osiris: I thought I'd never see you again.
- Osiris: Finally, Player...
- Osiris: My true love.
- A few moments later...
- Player: (smiles)
- Osiris: (smiles)
- Rehoboam: Sorry for interrupting you two, but we're not quite done here yet...
- Rehoboam: Did you happen to notice what the reaper said just before he died?
- Player: 'I finally got the last piece of data...'
- Osiris: The human-to-beast conversion plan might be complete.
- Rehoboam: The Shadows have been researching ways to turn humans into beasts for a long, long time...
- Rehoboam: At first, they were trying to boost the fighting power of the Shadowcult's human troops.
- Rehoboam: But they never made much progress.
- Rehoboam: Now, they're willing to sacrifice a Shadow Reaper just to get a little data and continue the experiment.
- Osiris: Very suspicious!
- Player: Let's set aside the Shadows' plans for now. Osiris is back! We should...
- ???: Rrrooaaaarrr...
- Another Shadowbeast appears
- Player: Uh oh!
- Player: Shadows!!
- Rehoboam: Some we didn't notice?
- Rehoboam: Ugh... I have no energy left.
- Player: The fight with the Shadow Reaper used up all my strength...
- Shadowbeast: Roar!
- Player: It's too close, we can't get away.
- Osiris: (Uses body to shield you...)
- Player: Osiris!
- Osiris: I'm going to let the Shadow bite me. The light flux in my body will consume it!
- Player: No!
- Just as the Shadowbeast is about to attack, a gunshot takes it out
- Osiris: Ugh!
- ???: It's been a while, Osiris. You've gotten slow!
- Osiris: Heh...
- Player: Miles? What are you doing here?
- Grey: (Growls at Rehoboam.)
- Miles: Grey!
- Miles: You guys should've told me you were coming to save Osiris! You hurt Grey's feelings!
- Rehoboam: Sorry, but we didn't have time.
- Osiris: Miles...
- Miles: Stay away!
- Miles aims his shotgun at Osiris
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Osiris: (sad)
- Player: Miles!
- Miles: Don't worry, I'm not here to arrest him.
- Miles: But the people who are, are already on their way here.
- Player: Whoa!
- Miles: The Defense Force has rooted out the Shadow plot and has ascertained their plans through interrogation.
- Miles: So...run, Osiris!
- Osiris: If the public execution didn't do anything to calm people down, then I...
- Player: Osiris!
- Miles: As far as I and all my fellow Gyees are concerned...
- Miles: You will always be the Butcher of the White Capes and killer of countless Gyee, Yvres!
- Miles: The blood of people will haunt you till the day you die.
- Miles: I will never forgive you, and the Gyees will forever hate you!
- Osiris: ...
- Miles lowers his shotgun
- Miles: However, at the same time, the Oathblades, my brothers, and I, also owe you a debt!
- Miles: You were once my brother.
- Osiris: Miles, I...
- Miles: Don't be mistaken.
- Miles: I will hate the White Capes forever. All of them deserve to die.
- Miles: That's right - I'll never forgive you!
- Miles: Butcher of the White Capes, Yvres, was executed before the eyes of countless Gyees!
- Miles: Yvres is already dead.
- Miles: But Osiris...
- Miles: If you truly are a Gyee, if you truly are a man, then take upon yourself the legacy of those compatriots of ours who died, and kill more Shadows!
- Miles: Carry the weight of Yvres's sins, and live!
- Osiris: !!
- Miles: The Defense Force, Order of Equality, and Oathblades are almost here.
- Miles leaves
- Player: ...
- Player: Osiris, go with Rehoboam and get out of here!
- Player: I'll fake your death to trick Never Isle.
- Player: From now on, stay anonymous, and find a new life to live!
- Osiris: No, Player!
- Player: If you stay with me, you will never be safe! This is the only way!
- Osiris: No. I cannot stay anonymous.
- Osiris: That Reaper wasn't easy to beat.
- Osiris: You need my strength! I can help you in secret!
- Player: Osiris...
- Rehoboam: Miles just said that Yvres is already dead in the eyes of the people, nothing but a corpse.
- Rehoboam: Which is another way of saying that Never Isle has already accepted Osiris's death.
- Rehoboam: Osiris's strength can counter the Shadows' power. The world needs him!
- Player: All I want is for him to live!
- Osiris: Player...
- Osiris: We're up against a Shadow conspiracy. We're up against the future threat that the Shadows pose to our compatriots and our friends.
- Osiris: Are you be willing to just stand by and watch, Player?
- Player: Of course not!
- Osiris: Well, I'm the same way!
- Osiris: I will not let the Shadow conspiracy threaten you, Player!
- Osiris: People already believe I'm dead, and I've got the power to fight the Shadows.
- Osiris: I can act without attracting attention.
- Osiris: First, I'll start with the conversion experiments!
- Player: That does make sense...
- Player: However, you finally have a chance to start your life over again.
- Osiris: This is the life I want, Player!
- Osiris: My strength and my radiance... I can become your blade!
- Player: Gather the light, eliminate evil...
- Player: That sounds like Osiris, all right.
- Player: I understand.
- Rehoboam: You can't go to Player's airship anymore, but you could hide out in my lab.
- Osiris: No, that would be too dangerous. I'd better keep you guys in the dark about my whereabouts.
- Osiris: After all, Yvres is already dead.
- Osiris: If I find anything, I'll contact you!
- Player: ...
- You hug Osiris tightly.
- Player: Player...
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris once again hands you the golden cross.
- Osiris: This belongs to you.
- Osiris: It will protect you while I'm not around.
- You take the golden cross.
- Player: Take care, Osiris!
- Osiris: Of course!
- Osiris quickly disappears into the dark forest.
- Player: ...
- Rehoboam: Don't worry, you will see him again.
- Player: As long as he's alive, I'm happy.
- From a distance, Eddie watches as Player says goodbye to Osiris
- Eddie: (sad)
- Eddie: ...
- Eddie: This is Eddie. I've spotted Player and the others.
- Eddie: Hmm... I see Osi... Sorry, Yvres.
- Eddie: Rehoboam and Player have defeated the Shadows. They're no longer a threat.
- Eddie: Yvres is dead.
- Eddie: I saw Player and Rehoboam bury him with my own eyes.
- Eddie: Understood. En route back to Never Isle.
- Eddie leaves
