Markus - Furious Lion
When the people need him to charge once again. Azria's berserker in the past will roar once more!
The bloodthirsty lion kills thousands of enemies, as the roar from his double axes shake the earth.
Intro[]
Oathblades's training ground, Never Isle...
After the celebration feast of the overwhelming victory, Markus came to a trash can with a box. Inside the box were two slightly rusted battleaxes.
'There's no point in keeping such an old antique. I should just get rid of them...'
It was rumored that, before Markus picked up the Greatsword and became the undefeated Golden Lion, he was a warrior. The simplest kind of warrior...
The Markus back then had a chain waist armor and two giant axes with carvings which shone brightly. When a battle began, not only would Markus dash to the front, he would insert himself right into the enemy's formation like a steel nail, creating a red cyclone of blood and flesh in the center of the enemy army! When a battle ended, Markus would stand up in a sea of blood. His body and weapons turned black from being drenched in fresh blood. In the eyes of those who survived, he was a pitch black monster devouring the enemy's bones...
The Markus back then only saw the enemy's blood! Yet Raven saw a different kind of future for 'Azria's most powerful warrior.'
Later on, annihilation descended on Azria. No matter how great one's power was, they couldn't defeat waves after waves of Shadows. The more horrifying thing was, as they saw that Azria was ablaze, the surviving Gyees had lost all hope. And it was also at this moment that the simple warrior was gone and a legendary leader was born!
Back to the present, the Oathblades army was strong with heroes like Miles and Bidziil, Red Harbor was set free, and the airship fleet was rebuilt. The Oathblades became one of the most powerful forces in Luxium. As for Markus, he had become the undefeated Golden Lion, the Gyees' leader, and a true legend! Indeed, the Golden Lion's light was too bright, and the people no longer needed that simple warrior...
But having thought about it, Markus still decided to leave the axes behind...
'Perhaps one day, my brothers will need me to create the red cyclone again...'

Views[]

- Sig: The Commander will ask us to polish this pair of axes every two months, but we've never seen anyone used these axes...
Sig's Intimacy reaches Lv.2 to unlock - Markus: Haha! This was my armor when I was young. I was still in Azria back then. General Raven asked me to choose my weapons. The swords and spears were too light for me, and they had no grandeur. Then I saw this axe, but wasn't having one giant axe just like any other warrior? So I asked for two! This giant axe could kill Shadows like it's nothing. At that time, General Raven and I... Never mind, heroes leave the past in the past! Times flies by and there's no turning back!
Markus's Intimacy reaches Lv.4 to unlock - Will: I can still remember Markus coming to me to show off after a victory while holding his axes which were covered in blood. The Markus back then had a terrible temper. He would start a fight due to the simplest disagreement. Since no one could fight him, his behavior got worse and he kicked down all of the thresholds of Azria's prisons! Who would have thought that, thirty years later, Markus would become the commander of the Oathblades and a hero of the Gyees. Destiny is so unpredictable. I'm not sure if such changes are actually good or bad for him...
Will's Intimacy reaches Lv.6 to unlock - Miles-Blood Wolf: I've seen the commander fighting with his axes when I was young. Back then, he was the most powerful warrior in Azria, the person I looked up to most. And now, even though he is the Oathblades Commander, he is still that simplest warrior, the person I look up to and trust the most. You don't believe me? Hmph! That's because you didn't hear him banging his desk and sighing all by himself in his office when he had to compromise for the greater good! Sigh...he just had to put on a brave face!
Miles-BloodWolf's Intimacy reaches Lv.8 to unlock - Elderly Warrior: If you haven't seen the commander angry, you have no idea what real terror is!
- Oathblades General: The commander once gave us hope when we were most desperate. I believe that, no matter how miserable the Gyees are, the commander will lead us to victory!
- Never Isle Aunty: Is that...Commander Markus? He's usually quite kind...but without his eye patch...hmmm...he's horrifying!
- Red Harbor Worker: I thought Markus would look down upon us commoners. But he turns out to be extremely nice. He raised our salary, bought Red Harbor insurance for us and even offered us an overtime premium! This truly motivated us to work hard!
- BlackFlame Underground Guild: The White Capes left and now the Oathblades are here. But I don't mind, so long as they don't bother with my business! The center of Red Harbor is always BlackFlame City!
- Never Isle Young Man: I want to be a brave and strong hero like Markus someday!

Undefeated Golden Lion I
- Note: Complete Izumi - Guardian Bear before continuing.
- Day 79 of the Shadow occupation of the Azria ruins...
- ???: Commander...
- ???: Commander!
- Oathblades, training grounds in the wilderness...
- Markus spars with a training robot when one of his generals interrupts
- Oathblades General: Commander, the brothers are angry. If this goes on...
- Markus: ...
- Markus: What are they saying about me?
- Oathblades General: Uh...
- Oathblades General: They said...the Commander has changed...
- Oathblades General: That the undefeated Golden Lion is gone, that the Commander right now...
- Oathblades General: Has turned into a timid and cunning opportunist, a coward...
- Markus: ...
- Markus: Their vocabulary is more expansive than I imagined...
- Oathblades General: How dare these fools say things like that about the Commander!
- Markus puts down his sword and turns to the general
- Markus: Don't be mad. The brothers were right...
- Markus: The person I am now...
- Markus: Is indeed a coward.
- Markus remembers the past...
- Two swords clang against each other, one wielded by a confident general, the other by a young warrior
- Young & Strong Warrior: Huff... huff...
- Bold General: Concentrate! Mind your posture!
- Young & Strong Warrior: Bring it on...
- Bold General: Hya!
- Young & Strong Warrior: Uh...
- The young warrior falls to the ground after receiving such a powerful blow
- Bold General: You can do better than this. Show me your enthusiasm!
- Bold General: Show me your usual fighting spirit!
- Young & Strong Warrior: ...
- Bold General: Stand up. Let's keep going!
- Young & Strong Warrior: Okay...
- The young warrior gets up
- Young & Strong Warrior: Again...
- Young & Strong Warrior: ...
- Bold General: Young man...are you refusing to yield?
- Young & Strong Warrior: This sword is too bulky and not as handy as an axe!
- Young & Strong Warrior: If I fought with an axe, you wouldn't have been able to take advantage, old man...
- Bold General: When advancing, the sword can slash and pierce; when retreating, it can block all kinds of attacks...
- Bold General: It can attack and defend, making it the most balanced weapon of all!
- Bold General: A qualified warrior should be able to handle it.
- Young & Strong Warrior: I don't need to defend!
- Bold General: Oh?
- Young & Strong Warrior: I'll kill my opponent with two axes. What's left to defend?
- Bold General: Haha...
- Young & Strong Warrior: What are you laughing about? Was I wrong?
- Bold General: Okay, pick up the double axes you trusted the most...
- Bold General: And I'll give you a real fight!
- Young & Strong Warrior: Okay!
- The young warrior eagerly goes to retrieve his double axes
- The present...
- Two days before the Shadows occupied the Ruins of Azria, Never Isle...
- Many warriors neatly line up on the streets of Never Isle as the residents look on
- Never Isle Warrior: Quick! Get in formation!
- Never Isle Warrior: Once your team has gathered, head to the port and set off on the airship as planned!
- Never Isle Resident A: Whoa! This scale of mobilization...
- Never Isle Resident A: Bad news for White Capes somewhere.
- Never Isle Resident B: Yeah...
- Never Isle Resident B: I heard it's not just Never Isle. There are movements in Red Harbor and Elysiann as well.
- Never Isle Resident A: Oh! Looks like it's going to be huge!
- One of the residents goes up to a Never Isle Defense Force warrior
- Never Isle Resident B: Excuse me.
- Defense Force Warrior: Hi! How can I help you?
- Never Isle Resident B: I was just wondering if there's going to be a war soon? So many soldiers have gathered here...
- Defense Force Warrior: It's just a routine military exercise. Don't be alarmed.
- Never Isle Resident A: Oh...is this the Oathblades' military exercise?
- Defense Force Warrior: Not just the Oathblades. The Order of Equality's Light of Purity will also participate.
- Never Isle Resident B: The target must be tough, seeing how the two biggest military organizations in Never Isle have been mobilized.
- Never Isle Resident A: Hah! So long as the Oathblades are here, there's no need to worry!
- Never Isle Resident A: It doesn't matter how strong the enemies are; we'll still win!
- Never Isle Resident B: Indeed...
- Never Isle Resident B: As we have the undefeated Golden Lion.
- Back at the Oathblades training grounds on Never Isle, Markus addresses Miles and the other Oathblades warriors before they leave
- Markus: You've all seen the brief. The Shadowcult is heading to gather at the Ruins of Azria...
- Markus: Whatever the Shadowcult is up to, we must stop them.
- Markus: Listen up! We're going to work with the Order of Equality in this operation!
- Markus: I know what you're thinking. Show some restraint!
- Markus: In this battle, the Shadows are our only enemies!
- Miles: Understood!
- Oathblades Elite Warrior: Understood!
- Oathblades Elite Warrior: Commander, it's just a bunch of Shadowcultists. Do we need to mobilize so many soldiers?
- Oathblades Elite Warrior: When will we actually get some powerful Shadow Monsters for the brothers to have some fun?
- Markus: You must never underestimate your enemies!
- Markus: Have you forgotten everything I taught you?
- Oathblades Elite Warrior: (Gulps) Uh, n-no...
- Markus: Empty words mean nothing to me!
- Markus: If you're as good as you said, kill more Shadows on the battlefield!
- Oathblades Elite Warrior: Understood!
- Miles: Brothers! Since we'll be working with the Order of Equality this time, make sure you won't bring shame to the Commander!
- Miles: Let's kill all the Shadows and spare no one!
- Oathblades Elite Warrior: Yes!
- Oathblades Elite Warrior: Roar!
- Markus: Good!
- Markus: When this battle is over, if you fought better than the Order of Equality...
- Markus: I'll let you have a taste of my cherished wine!
- Oathblades Elite Warrior: Are you serious, Commander?
- Markus: You have my word. When have I ever lied to you?!
- Markus: Let's get ready!
- Markus: Even if it's the ruins, Azria is still the Gyees' territory!
- Markus: I don't care what those Shadowcultists plan to do, none of them are going back alive!
- Markus: Kill them all!
- Wolf Squad Warriors: Kill them all!
- As the warriors leave, Markus stops Miles
- Markus: Miles!
- Miles: Yes, sir!
- Markus: The Shadowcultists usually keep their whereabouts secret, yet they've chosen to do the opposite this time with such a high-profile gathering...
- Markus: We have no idea why the Shadowcult is heading to the Ruins of Azria...
- Markus: The Wolf Squad is the key to this fight...
- Markus: This time, you must act according to plan. If there's an emergency, you must obey my orders!
- Markus: Don't let the warriors go overboard!
- Miles: Don't worry! You've reminded us so many times my ears are falling off!
- Markus: Are you saying I'm annoying?
- Miles: I'm heading to the port now. Don't be late, old man!
- Miles takes off before Markus could respond
- Markus: You rug rat!
- Markus: (smiles)
- General Will approaches Markus
- Will: Miles is becoming more and more like you when you were young...
- Markus: ...
- Markus: Humph!
- Markus: He needs a few more years of training if he wants to be like me!
- Markus: He needs to gain more experiences!
- Markus: Hahahaha!
- Suddenly, Markus felt a little out of sorts...
- He then grabbed his chest casually...
- Markus: ...
- The day before the Shadow occupation of the Azria ruins...
- The Never Isle troops discovered that the Shadowcultists planned to summon the Shadow Reaper...
- Before the summon was complete, Miles' Wolf Squad successfully destroyed a summoning array for the Shadow Reaper...
- But there were three other arrays...
- The three Shadow Reapers held power that no one had seen before and instantly turned the tables...
- Shadow Reaper: Loyal servants, receive the blessing of the Shadowlord!
- One of the Shadow Reapers raises its claw and a blue glow begins to surround the gathered Shadow
- Shadow Monster: Rrragh!
- Markus, Will and some of the Never Isle warriors observe the Shadow from a distance
- Markus: What was that evil Shadow flux wave just now?
- Oathblades Arcanist: I have no idea. I have never seen such power before...
- A messenger arrives
- Oathblades Messenger: Permission to speak!
- Markus and Will turn their focus on the messenger
- Oathblades Messenger: Commander, our comms are down. We couldn't receive any communications from the troops in other locations...
- Oathblades Messenger: Before the comms went down, each location received reports of the Shadows counterattacking!
- Will: Must have been the Shadow flux wave!
- Will: Together with the Shadows who retreated and counterattacked...
- Markus: That flux enhanced the Shadows' power.
- Oathblades Arcanist: Commander!
- Oathblades Arcanist: We discovered another wave of powerful Shadow flux!
- Will: There's more?!
- Oathblades Arcanist: This wave of flux started to gather transformational arrangements at our periphery...
- Oathblades Arcanist: It seems to be...forming some kind of barrier.
- Markus: The Shadows want to divide our troops and devour us in one go!
- Markus: Is there any way to counter this barrier?
- Oathblades Arcanist: I don't know. We haven't seen such power before...
- Oathblades Arcanist: The Wanderlight Crystal...may be of some use...
- Will: Three summoning arrays, with two types of power we haven't seen before...
- Will: Markus, there is too much unknown. If we continue to advance, I'm afraid...
- Markus: Now that the communication crystals aren't working, we can't issue complicated strategic orders...
- Will: Let's retreat for now to minimize losses.
- Markus: Retreat...
- Markus: Deliver this order!
- Markus: Use the flare signal to send an order to retreat! Immediately!
- Oathblades Arcanist: Retreat...but...
- Oathblades Arcanist: But then Miles and the Wolf Squad won't get any backup!
- Markus: Didn't you hear my order? Send an order to retreat!
- Oathblades Messenger: Uh... Yes, sir!
- Flares begin to light the night sky
- Oathblades Arcanist: Commander!
- Markus: I can't put Miles and the Wolf Squad first...
- Markus: And risk the lives of all Never Isle warriors!
- Markus: But Miles and the Wolf Squad are Oathblades' elites!
- Markus: They will come back. Don't worry!
- Markus: Go! Coordinate with the arcanists at the front to begin our retreat!
- Oathblades Arcanist: Yes, sir!
- Will: I'll direct the Light of Purity warriors' retreat...
- Markus: Okay!
- Markus calls for the Oathblades scouts at his position
- Markus: Gather around!
- Markus: Send out all the scouts to search along the retreating route and offer back up to the forward troops' retreat...
- Markus: Go and get ready now!
- Oathblades Warrior: Yes, sir!
- The scouts and their support scramble
- One of Markus's generals waits for his orders
- Oathblades General: Commander.
- Markus: Jerren, apart from me, you are most familiar with the Oathblades' deployment for this battle...
- Markus: I'll leave it to you to direct the troops' retreat!
- Jerren: Hmph! Commander, are you going to...
- Markus: The Wolf Squad has gone way in. The Shadows are different this time around. I worry they may get into trouble.
- Jerren: But Miles had gone way too far...
- Markus: I'll take three high-speed battleships with me to look for Miles. Carry out your order!
- Jerren: Understood! Stay safe, Commander!
- Markus leaves
- Jerren: Pack what you can quickly, and destroy anything else you can't take with you!
- Jerren: Go, go, go!
- Markus took three high-speed battleships with him across the battlefield and waited at the Wolf Squad's planned retreating spot for a while, but Miles was nowhere to be found...
- Markus: The rug rat must have run into big trouble and decided not to retreat to fight it out with the Shadows...
- Markus began to search in terrains suitable for ambush near the Miles' last known location...
- Finally, he found the Wolf Squad a dozen kilometers west in deviation of the retreating route, along with Eddie, who had also come to look for Miles.
- Miles was seriously injured, and the last few Wolf Squad warriors who were also seriously injured decided to stay and cover the others' retreat...
- Miles: Hmm...brothers...
- Markus: Don't say anything. Save your energy! I'm taking you home right now...
- Miles: Our brothers...they've all...
- Miles: We need to...avenge...
- Markus: Hmm...if we don't avenge them...
- Markus: Then I'm not a man!
- The past...
- Bold General: Hya!
- Young & Strong Warrior: Oh no...
- The warrior dodged the general's attack...
- But he leaned too much to the side and fell...
- The general seized the chance, turned around and stood right on top of the warrior as he swung the tip of his sword toward the warrior's chest...
- He stopped just as the tip of his sword was about to pierce the warrior's chest...
- Bold General: If this was a battlefield, you're dead!
- Young & Strong Warrior: I have no defense to the way I fought! Kill me, general!
- Bold General: You're not afraid to die. You're a man!
- Bold General: But if this was about your squad, your troop...
- Bold General: Or even the survival of the entire Gyee clan...
- Bold General: Can you still accept death as unperturbed as you did just now?
- Young & Strong Warrior: Uh...
- Young & Strong Warrior: Ugh...my head hurts. I can't think about these things!
- Young & Strong Warrior: General, you are the Gyees' god of war!
- Young & Strong Warrior: The survival of our people and whatnot...you must have considered everything!
- Young & Strong Warrior: I'm a warrior. All I need to do is to trust you and be your blade!
- Bold General: God of war...am I...
- Bold General: But I can't serve our people forever, and I can't lead the warriors forever...
- Bold General: One day, the Gyees' future will be up to you youngsters...
- Young & Strong Warrior: !!
- Young & Strong Warrior: General...
- Bold General: If you don't want to practice with the sword, I won't force you...
- Bold General: Think about what you want...
- Bold General: That's it for today's training!
- The present...
- The first day of the Shadow occupation of the Azria ruins...
- Early morning, inside the Never Isle Kaism Church, in front of the emergency room...
- Inside the Emergency Room: His blood pressure is dropping again, give him more blood...
- Inside the Emergency Room: Get me another shot of heart-strengthening arcana potion!
- Markus paces outside of the emergency room
- Markus: ...
- Markus: ...
- Oathblades Warrior: Commander...
- Oathblades Warrior: I'll keep an eye on Miles. Commander, you should rest.
- Markus: I'm not sleepy.
- Oathblades Warrior: But ever since you returned to Never Isle, you've been staying here...
- Oathblades Warrior: You need to take care of yourself, too, commander.
- Markus: You rug rat...
- Markus: Are you saying I'm old?
- Oathblades Warrior: Hmmm...no...what I meant to say...
- Markus: That's enough! Stand your guard and no more kidding around!
- Oathblades Warrior: Yes, sir!
- Markus: ...
- Markus: (The communication crystal on him rings...)
- Markus: What's going on...
- Arcana Communication: Our arcanists have completed the battlefield analysis...
- Markus: What is it? What is different about the Shadows this time?
- Arcana Communication: I don't know...
- Arcana Communication: Apart from the enhanced Shadow strength and the powerful flux which seemed to have formed a barrier...
- Arcana Communication: The arcanists also found more than ten kinds of Shadow arcana we've never seen before.
- Arcana Communication: Our intel network couldn't figure out where these Shadows came from...
- Arcana Communication: It was as if they...just appeared in Luxium out of nowhere!
- Arcana Communication: Commander...
- Arcana Communication: Are we still going to gather the troops and launch a counterattack against the Shadows?
- Markus: ...
- Markus: Keep the brothers on standby and wait for my order...
- Markus: We will launch a counterattack sooner or later!
- Markus: Ask the arcanists to compile a report on their analysis and leave nothing out, big or small!
- Markus: Also, send the remaining battlefield samples to the Arcana Academy. Perhaps President Vundo can help...
- Arcana Communication: Yes, sir!
- Markus: (Closes the Arcana Communication...)
- Oathblades Warrior: Don't worry, commander! I'll stay here with Miles!
- Markus: Okay, let me know the second you have any news!
- Moments later, in the Arcana Academy library...
- Markus and Will discuss with Vundo about the new Shadow arcana
- Vundo: Hmmm...
- Markus: President Vundo, did you find anything?
- Vundo: Thanks be to Ka, it was fortunate that you decided to retreat.
- Vundo: The 'powerful flux which seemed to have formed a barrier' that the battle arcanists discovered...
- Vundo: Is a kind of really powerful barrier arcana!
- Vundo: Once the barrier is formed, traditional weapons won't be able to break it...
- Will: As suspected, the Shadows wanted to trap us and devour us in one go.
- Markus: Hmph! They aren't ready for that!
- Will: Could such Shadow strength originate from the Second Shadow War, a thousand years ago?
- Vundo: I considered that possibility and looked over the relevant literature, but I'm sorry to say...
- Vundo: There was no record of similar Shadows or relevant Shadow arcana in the ancient books before the Second Shadow War.
- Vundo: Enhanced strength, indestructible barrier...
- Vundo: I'm afraid the human civilization has never seen such powerful strength before!
- Markus: On the way back to Never Isle, Miles regained consciousness briefly...
- Markus: The monsters appeared in the portal called themselves 'Shadow Reapers'...
- Markus: One of the Shadow Reapers enhanced the strength of the Shadow soldiers immensely, followed by a wave of counterattacks which caught us by surprise...
- Vundo: Shadow Reapers...
- Vundo: A while ago, Player and Billy ran into a powerful Shadow Monster...
- Vundo: It also called itself Shadow Reaper.
- Vundo: This kind of monster is really powerful. The level of Shadow flux it has makes Martin and Rita look weak...
- Vundo: And it's only this kind of monster that can enhance endless Shadow Minions and activate the super extensive Shadow Barrier...
- Will: Hmm...and we've got three of this monster this time...
- Will: Fortunately Miles and the lot destroyed a summoning array. If there were four Shadow Reapers...
- Will: Oh my, I dare not think about that...
- Markus: ...
- Markus: Since Player and Billy defeated a Shadow Reaper before...
- Markus: So can we this time!
- Markus: Gather the troops again and take all of our cannons and battleships with us...
- Markus: We'll concentrate our strength and bomb them flat!
- Will: Commander, calm down!
- Will: The Shadow Reapers this time are clearly more powerful...
- Will: Two of the Shadow Reapers possess such powerful strength that we've never seen before...
- Will: Then we must assume the remaining Shadow Reaper also possesses the same powerful strength which we've never seen before.
- Will: Before we've collected sufficient intel, we can't send our soldiers to battle!
- Vundo: Yes...it's too risky to send our solders to battle without understanding what our enemies are capable of.
- Markus: If we don't send our troops now and they establish a firm hold in the Ruins of Azria...
- Markus: And continue to send this kind of monsters over, what are we going to do?
- Markus: We can't let our warriors sacrifice themselves in vain!
- Vundo: Don't worry. The good news is that, within a short period, the Shadows won't be able to send this kind of monster over.
- Vundo: The Shadows' massive summoning array needs Luxium's flux support...
- Vundo: Even though the Light Nexus was destroyed, there remains a massive amount of powerful flux underneath Azria...
- Vundo: The Ruins of Azria is the only location where multiple massive summoning arrays can be activated.
- Markus: I see...
- Markus: That's the reason why they've chosen to summon the Shadow Reapers at the Ruins of Azria...
- Vundo: Given the scale of the summoning arrays just now, a lot of underground flux near Azria was consumed...
- Vundo: It will take at least a year to prepare for arrays on such a scale.
- Will: Time is on our side, Commander.
- Markus: If that is the case...we need to do two things.
- Markus: First, we must collect intel...
- Markus: Understand our enemies fully, search for the Shadows' weakness, and understand the purpose of their attack!
- Markus: Then we must prepare our troops so that they'll be ready for the Shadows' next move at any time!
- Markus: Once we've devised a strategy, the Oathblades will send troops to chase the Shadows out of Azria!
- Markus: Even if Azria is in ruins, it is still the Gyees' territory!
- Will: Okay! I'll arrange for the Light of Purity to get ready!
- Markus: The Oathblades will put together a team of elite warriors to set up a scout post as close as possible.
- Vundo: The Arcana Academy will take care of Never Isle's internal affairs. Don't worry!
- Will: Get in touch if you find anything!
- Markus: Okay!
- Markus and Will set off to execute their plan
- As Markus exits the Arcana Academy, an Oathblades warrior runs up to deliver a message
- Oathblades Warrior: Commander! Commander! Miles...he's...
- Markus: (surprised)
- Markus: What about Miles?
- Oathblades Warrior: Miles is awake! He's stable now!
- Markus: !!
- Markus: (smiles)
- Markus smiled as a heavy burden was lifted...
- Oathblades Warrior: I just knew Miles would be okay!
- Markus: Alright!
- Markus: Head back now and gather the troops. We have an important mission.
- Oathblades Warrior: Yes, sir!
- The past...
- Young & Strong Warrior: Huff... huff...
- Bold General: What's going on? Can't take it already?
- Young & Strong Warrior: Phew...
- Bold General: Hah! I was just getting started. You Yellow Eyes are hopeless!
- Bold General: When the Sword of Lights attack, you'd better not embarrass yourself!
- Young & Strong Warrior: Uh...
- Young & Strong Warrior: Hrrrraahhh!!!
- The young warrior summons the strength to attack once more but the general flanks the young warrior and strikes
- The young warrior barely had the time to raise his weapon to defend
- Young & Strong Warrior: Hmph!
- Bold General: (Puts on an evil smile...)
- Bold General: I knew it. You Yellow Eyes are all cowards. You only think about your defense when you fight and dare not attack with all your might!
- Bold General: How sad!
- The young warrior runs away
- Bold General: You want to run? You think you can run away from me?
- The general chases after the young warrior and searches for him in some tall grass
- Bold General: Are you hiding?
- Suddenly, three balls of fire circle the general
- Bold General: You can't defeat me with such amateur tactics!
- Bold General: Coward, fight me face to face!
- In a bright flash, the young warrior dispels his invisibility and appears behind the general
- Young & Strong Warrior: The Gyees...won't lose!
- The young warrior attacks
- Even though the practice sword wasn't sharp, it left behind a bruise on the body...
- Bold General: Hahahaha! I lost!
- Bold General: You managed to stay calm despite my provoking you. And in order to win, you also used arcana which you usually looked down upon...
- Bold General: Well done, young man!
- Young & Strong Warrior: Hmm...general, you didn't have to make everything so real...
- Young & Strong Warrior: I really regarded you as one of those horrible White Capes just now...
- Young & Strong Warrior: Several times, every single cell in my body was demanding me to kill you...
- Bold General: Then why didn't you?
- Young & Strong Warrior: Because...you once said that you wanted me to fight the White Capes on behalf of the Gyees...
- Young & Strong Warrior: I can't win fighting you up front, but I can't lose yet...
- Young & Strong Warrior: So I could only look for your flaws and find a way to win!
- Bold General: Hahahaha!
- Young & Strong Warrior: But I...ran away during the fight to set up an ambush and only won with a sneak attack...
- Young & Strong Warrior: I...lost my honor as a warrior...
- Bold General: Haha! That's right!
- Bold General: When an excellent warrior lets go of their obsession with honor...
- Bold General: They would qualify as a commander.
- Young & Strong Warrior: Uh...
- Young & Strong Warrior: What do you mean?
- Bold General: One day, you will understand.
- Bold General: Okay, that's it for today's training!
- Bold General: Join in the strategy meeting later!
- Young & Strong Warrior: Uh...
- Young & Strong Warrior: Yes, sir!
- The present...
- After the Shadows occupied the areas near the Ruins of Azria, they began to build their stronghold and expanded outward at the same time...
- The Shadows locked down and controlled the mid-section of the Elysian River, cutting off the communication route between Never Isle and Elysiann over water...
- At the same time, the northern shore of the Elysian River became unsafe...
- The Shadows' presence seriously interfered with the communications between cities, such that business dealings became difficult and expensive...
- A few villages closer to the Ruins of Azria were wrecked...
- Never Isle began to receive affected Gyee refugees...
- Never Isle couldn't let these things go on, but they were also testing the Shadows' capabilities at the same time...
- They gathered their troops once again and set off toward the Ruins of Azria with battleships...
- The Shadows' expansion troops weren't that strong. As soon as they were engaged, they retreated toward the Ruins of Azria...
- The Never Isle troops wanted to take the chance and pursue, but they were blocked by the Shadow Barrier outside the Ruins of Azria...
- The numerous battleships fired thousands of cannons, and the explosions shook the sky and the earth, yet the Shadow Barrier wasn't affected in the slightest...
- Afterward, the Shadows' flux cannons came hailing from inside the barrier. A few of the battleships didn't get away in time and lost their ability to fight...
- The troops couldn't do anything to the Shadow Barrier, so they had no choice but to return to Never Isle...
- Yet such retreat wasn't without gain as Vundo joined the mission with an advanced arcanist from the academy...
- Having observed the Shadow Barrier in close range, they quickly discovered the barrier's weakness...
- However, its weakness was light arcana and the light arcana experts in Luxium...
- Were the White Capes...
- During a meeting of the officials, Markus clearly stated...
- 'Any collaboration with the White Capes would destabilize Never Isle's foundation!'
- But now that the Shadows had blocked the mid-section of the Elysian River, occupied the central continent, and massacred all living things nearby...
- Business dealings between Luxium cities were cut off, which greatly affected people's lives...
- The Shadows' stronghold in the Ruins of Azria was the greatest threat Never Isle had since its establishment...
- Day 16 of the Shadow occupation of the Azria ruins...
- After a long day, Markus leaves the Oathblades HQ on Never Isle
- Markus: ...
- Miles and some other Oathblades see Markus and quickly approach
- Oathblades Warrior: Uh...
- Oathblades Warrior: Commander...
- Markus: You lot head back and get your injuries treated...
- Oathblades Warrior: (Whispers) Miles...
- Markus: Head back now!
- Oathblades Warrior: Uh... Yes, sir!
- The other warriors leave but Miles stays behind
- Markus: ...
- Miles: Old man, I was the one who couldn't hold back and dragged the brothers with me...
- Miles: I'll take responsibility for the losses in the battle and for disobeying your order!
- Markus: Take responsibility...
- Markus: Take responsibility?
- Markus: Four warriors were injured, and one was sacrificed...
- Markus: How are you going to take responsibility?
- Miles: ...
- Miles looked dejected...
- Markus: That Shadow Barrier...wasn't even affected by the largest caliber of the battleship's main cannons! You knew that!
- Miles: We tried with the battleships, but we haven't tried with arcana in close range...
- Miles: Our arcanist came to me and said it's possible to break the Shadow Barrier...
- Miles: We must try!
- Markus: It's possible to break the Shadow Barrier...
- Markus: Then why didn't you ask me first?
- Miles: Ask you? There's no way you would let us go...
- Markus: Oathblades arcanists are telling me every day claiming they have found a way to break the Shadow Barrier...
- Markus: But none of their ideas passed the Arcana Academy's simulation experiment!
- Markus: Those arcanists are young. I can understand why they want to get rid of the Shadows quickly...
- Markus: What about you?
- Markus: You're a commander! A commander of an elite troop!
- Miles: ...
- Markus: As a warrior, you can be rash!
- Markus: But as a commander, being rash will cost your warriors, and your brothers their lives!
- Miles: Ugh...
- Miles: You think I didn't know that?!
- Miles: I just can't help it...
- Miles: If we don't get rid of that damn barrier, we'll have to call the White Capes our brothers!
- Markus: ...
- Miles: How will I face the brothers who sacrificed themselves in Azria?
- Miles: Do I tell them, we're too weak, so we have to rely on the White Capes' strength to chase the Shadows out of Azria?!
- Miles: Azria was lost because of those bastards!
- Markus: ...
- Markus: The Oathblades aren't working with the White Capes.
- Miles: Last night, you discussed this with Will...
- Markus: ...
- Miles: Old man!
- Miles: Don't forget why the Oathblades were established! Don't forget who we are!
- Markus: I haven't!
- Markus: I've been looking for someone who is an expert on light arcana apart from the White Capes!
- Miles: Yeah! That's right!
- Miles: The Oathblades will never work with the White Capes, right?
- Markus: ...
- Markus: Miles...
- Markus: The Oathblades' ultimate goal is to protect the people, to ensure the Gyees' future with our blood and swords!
- Markus: As the commander, I must lead everyone toward victory...
- Markus: If it's necessary, I'll use any methods, any means!
- Miles: Then the brothers who died at the hands of the White Capes in Azria...
- Markus: ...
- Miles: What... Commander...
- Miles: The Oathblades aren't that unscrupulous and sinister!
- Markus: ...
- Markus: Miles...
- Markus: In this world, everything is either black or white...
- Markus: On the battlefield, courage and honor aren't everything...
- Markus put his right hand on Miles' shoulder...
- Markus: As a commander, you must understand this!
- Miles: (Shoves off the hand on Miles' shoulder...)
- Miles: I don't understand!
- Miles: I don't want to understand!
- Markus: Eh!
- Miles: If we forgot about the brothers who died on the battlefield, forgot about hatred, forgot about the reason we took up our swords to fight...
- Miles: Then...who are we?
- Markus: (surprised)
- Miles runs away
- Markus: Miles...
- Markus: Sigh...
- Having just seen Miles leave, Jerren questions Markus
- Jerren: Commander, Miles stormed off. What happened?
- Markus: It's nothing... The rug rat is throwing a tantrum...
- Jerren: It hasn't been long since those under him were sacrificed. His foul mood and exasperation are expected...
- Jerren: Give him some space. Why don't you give him a hug when you have a chance?
- Markus: A hug?
- Markus: There's no such warmth in a war!
- Markus: Either you grow up in blood and tears, or you get killed!
- Markus: In order to become a qualified leader, he must learn to think and tolerate!
- Markus: He can't be rash his whole life!
- Jerren: I know you have high hopes for Miles, but you can't rush things.
- Markus: Phew...
- Markus: It's fine. He's smart. He will figure it out.
- Markus: Our most important task right now is to find a Gyee who is an expert in light arcana!
- Jerren: Yes, sir!
- Jerren: We've been looking based on the clues Player gave us...
- Jerren: Our intel web is also looking for those who know light arcana!
- Markus: Good!
- Markus: Even if it's the enemy of our enemy, the White Capes...
- Markus: I'd appreciate their corpses more!
- Three days later, late at night...
- Day 19 of the Shadow occupation of the Azria ruins...
- The Shadows' troops on the water couldn't get around the defensive strength on Lake Bliss and ended up bombing Never Isle...
- Injured Civilian: My leg! Ahhhhhh! My leg!
- Izumi: The building over there collapsed! Rescue the people trapped in the rubble!
- Izumi: Go, go, go!
- Boom!
- Izumi: Oh! Look out!!
- Elsewhere during the attack, Miles directs the Oathblades
- Miles: ...
- Miles: ...
- Miles: Get everyone here to put out the fire!
- Oathblades Warrior: Yes, sir!
- Later...
- Markus looks out over Never Isle when Jerren comes to give an update
- Markus: ...
- Jerren: Commander, arrangements were made...
- Jerren: The night patrol teams have joined in the rescue...
- Markus: ...
- Jerren: Hmm...Commander?
- Markus: The Shadows...actually bombed Never Isle...
- Markus: The Shadows are demonstrating, telling us Never Isle is within the Shadows' firing range.
- Jerren: I've made arrangements to enhance the patrol and heighten the alertness at Lake Bliss, and to look for our loopholes and issues.
- Markus: Hmm, it's not too late to strengthen our security.
- Markus: But until we've gotten rid of the Shadows at the Ruins of Azria, Never Isle will never have peace...
- Markus: ...
- Markus: It's too late to look for a light arcana master now...
- Jerren: Hmph! Commander, are you saying...
- Markus: Jerren...will you agree?
- Jerren: Hmm...but after all...
- Markus: We took an oath and raised our swords in Azria for the Gyees future, so that our people could live freely...
- Markus: Not even Never Isle is safe now. How can we be free?
- Markus: Brother, the tragedy of Azria must not be repeated...
- Jerren: ...
- Jerren: Back in Azria, I was a soldier under your command...
- Jerren: Throughout the years, you have led us to numerous victories...
- Jerren: I trust your judgment!
- Markus: (smiles)
- Markus: Thank you, brother...
- The Shadow Reaper's strength dimmed the sun, and their evil shadow shrouded the sky...
- During such all-encompassing darkness, the deep-seated hatred from the past seemed trivial...
- A thousand years ago, the humans united to put an end to the Second Shadow War as the winner...
- This time around, could the humans look past their hatred and save the day?
- Day 21 of the Shadow occupation of the Azria ruins...
- The Shadowhunters sent out invitations to representatives of Never Isle and Crossport to take part in ceasefire negotiations in Westhold...
- At the same time, the Shadows caught wind of this and sent a large number of troops to stop the ceasefire negotiations...
- In the end, the Oathblades troops led by Miles and the Sword of Light troops led by Brian defeated the Shadows together...
- The ceasefire agreement between Never Isle and Crossport - the Crossport Agreement, was signed...
- The Shadowhunters, Never Isle and Crossport formed the Anti-Shadow Alliance to fight the Shadows together...
- The first collaboration of the Oathblades and the Sword of Light was a victory and won the first battle for the Alliance...
- However, not everyone was happy about this...
- Never Isle...
- A while after the Westhold Agreement was signed...
- Four Oathblades warriors talk about the newly formed alliance
- Oathblades Warrior A: Hey! Have you heard?
- Oathblades Warrior A: We're going to fight the Shadows with the White Capes.
- Oathblades Warrior B: I heard. Isn't the Commander in Westhold negotiating a ceasefire with the White Capes?
- Oathblades Warrior C: I didn't join the Oathblades to fight with the White Capes!
- Oathblades Warrior D: The invitation to sign the agreement in Westhold came from the Shadowhunters. The Commander couldn't turn it down easily, but it's not like he had to sign it...
- Oathblades Warrior D: Calm down and trust the Commander!
- Oathblades Warrior A: Hmm...you're right...
- A group from the Order of Equality overhear the Oathblades' conversation
- Oathblades Warrior D: Aren't you from the Light of Purity? Are you here to pick a fight?
- Light of Purity Warrior A: I'm not here as a Light of Purity warrior but as a Gyee...
- Light of Purity Warrior A: The Westhold meeting is over. We have ceased fire with the White Capes!
- Oathblades Warrior A: What?
- Oathblades Warrior D: Don't try to divide us! I trust the Commander, he wouldn't...
- Light of Purity Warrior B: It's true. A friend of mine is part of the protection for General Will. He's told me everything...
- Oathblades Warrior D: This...this can't be!
- A group of angry Oathblades approach the four Oathblades warriors
- Furious Oathblades Warrior: ...
- Oathblades Warrior A: You're...
- Furious Oathblades Warrior: The Commander's messenger is here, we...
- Furious Oathblades Warrior: We've ceased fire with the White Capes!
- Light of Purity Warrior B: I told you so.
- Oathblades Warrior D: How... How could this be...
- Oathblades Warrior D: My brothers and my family all died at the hands of the White Capes...
- Oathblades Warrior D: Commander knew all too well...how could he...
- Oathblades Warrior C: I didn't join the Oathblades to fight with the White Capes!
- Furious Oathblades Warrior: That's right!
- Furious Oathblades Warrior: We can fight the Shadows by ourselves!
- Furious Oathblades Warrior: We'll petition with the Commander at the port to get the Oathblades out of the ceasefire agreement!
- Furious Oathblades Warrior: Brother, join us!
- Oathblades Warrior A: Okay!
- Oathblades Warrior A: Who are the Oathblades if we're not fighting the White Capes?!
- Light of Purity Warrior B: Count us in!
- Furious Oathblades Warrior: You're from the Light of Purity? What are you doing here?
- Light of Purity Warrior A: As a Gyee, how can we stand with the enemies who massacred us?
- Light of Purity Warrior B: We can coexist with normal humans...
- Light of Purity Warrior B: But the White Capes? Never!
- Furious Oathblades Warrior: Welcome!
- A while later, the Never Isle representatives returned...
- Will, Markus, Eddie, Miles and Player along with many other warriors that went to Westhold arrive at the port only to be greeted by an angry crowd
- Will: You lot...
- Will: Sigh...
- Markus: This is not so surprising.
- Markus: It's also something we must face...
- Angry Warriors: Commander! General Will!
- Angry Warriors: Don't forget about Azria! Don't forget the Gyee brothers who died!
- Angry Warriors: The White Capes are our forever enemy!
- Markus: Yes, the White Capes are the Gyees' enemy!
- Markus: But we are facing an even stronger enemy, the Shadows!
- Angry Warriors: Even if it's the enemy of our enemy...
- Angry Warriors: They aren't our friends!
- Markus: That's right! The enemy of our enemy isn't our friend!
- Markus: The White Capes aren't our friends!
- Angry Warriors: Then why did we cease fire with the White Capes?
- Angry Warriors: We should kill them all, not fight with them!
- Markus: ...
- Markus: Warriors, I don't want to keep secrets from you!
- Markus: The Shadows we're facing this time possess power that wasn't in any historical records...
- Markus: They possess such powerful strength that we've never seen before!
- Markus: We've organized two large-scale attacks...
- Markus: Many excellent warriors were sacrificed...
- Markus: And the White Capes possess the strength to suppress the Shadows.
- Angry Warriors: Then we'll fight the Shadows! The worst comes to worst, we'll just die!
- Markus: (Looks kindly at the warrior who spoke...)
- Markus: I'm glad that Never Isle has fearless warriors like you.
- Markus: But the meaning of being a warrior isn't to die on the battlefield...
- Markus: It is to stay alive and protect our people and our home!
- Markus: If we're all dead...
- Markus: What's going to happen to our friends and family? What's going to happen to Never Isle?
- Markus: What's going to happen to the Gyees?
- Angry Warriors: Uh...
- Angry Warriors: But...the White Capes killed so many of us...
- Angry Warriors: My brothers and my family all died in the hands of the White Capes!
- Markus: You're not the only one, brother... My brothers, my teacher, they all died in the hands of the White Capes...
- Markus: I've never forgotten the pain of the past, just as I've never forgotten our deep-seated hatred toward the White Capes!
- Markus: I haven't forgotten now, and I never will!
- Markus: (Sighs...)
- Markus: But my brothers, we must not forget those who died in the hands of the Shadows two days ago!
- Angry Warriors: !!
- Markus: The shadows occupied the Ruins of Azria right beneath our noses!
- Markus: They wanted to utilize an evil strength and turn Never Isle into another Azria!
- Markus: This war is different from any wars before...
- Markus: The Shadows had never been stronger!
- Markus: The Gyees...must be all-in in this bet for a chance to survive!
- Markus: It's true! We'll cease fire with the White Capes temporarily...
- Markus: We, just like you, never wished to see this day...
- Markus: We'll have a showdown with the White Capes someday, but not right now!
- Markus: That's because, my brothers...
- Markus: The tragedy of Azria must not be repeated!
- Markus: So it's true! We are going to fight the Shadows with our mortal enemy!
- Markus: This doesn't mean we are now friends with the White Capes...
- Markus: Instead, it means that...
- Markus: We can avenge our people who died from the Shadows' bombs, and our warriors who died fighting!
- Markus: We will be able to march into the Shadows' stronghold in Azria to slaughter every last one of those damn Shadows!
- Markus: We will be able to take back the Ruins of Azria, take back our heritage!
- Markus: We can show...to the White Capes, to the Shadows...
- Markus: To everyone who's against the Gyees the strength of the Gyees! Courage! Determination!
- Markus: We...will have victory!
- Angry Warriors: Yes, we can settle our scores with the White Capes later!
- Angry Warriors: The Shadows are our most urgent threat!
- Markus: Never Isle will never die!
- Markus: Gyees will live forever!
- People: Never Isle will never die!
- People: Gyees will live forever!
- Markus' speech moved the majority of the warriors who were protesting...
- They dispersed quickly...
- A few of the Oathblades remained to express their concerns with Markus
- Oathblades Warrior: Commander, is there really no other way?
- Oathblades Warrior: Our families were all killed by the White Capes...we can't just...
- Miles: What are you doing?
- Oathblades Warrior: Hmm...Miles?
- Miles: The Commander has given his order. What are you still doing here?
- Miles: If you want to challenge the Commander's decision, you must first get through me!
- Oathblades Warrior: Miles...
- Oathblades Warrior: We dare not!
- Miles: A huge battle is about to begin. Go back to training!
- Oathblades Warrior: Yes... Sir!
- The Oathblades leave
- Markus: ...
- Miles: Commander, I must go train now...
- Markus: Okay!
- Markus: We'll have a strategy meeting at the Arcana Academy in an hour...
- Miles: Yes, sir!
- Miles leaves
- Will: Only you can keep them in their place, commander...
- Markus: Haha! You are all much better than me when it comes to speeches!
- Markus: Speeches won't work forever...
- Markus: The key is to win the war against the Shadows!
- Will: If we're united, we will win!
- Markus: Yes! We will win!
- Will and Eddie head back to the Order of Equality HQ
- Player: Commander...
- Markus: Ah, Player...
- Markus: Thank you for today. Please rest up! There are tons to do in the coming days!
- Player: ...
- Markus: Is there anything else, Player?
- Player: No...nothing...
- Player: Your speech just now...was brilliant...
- Player: It really cheered everyone up!
- Markus: Haha! There are so many warriors in the Oathblades and most of them are enthusiastic youngsters...
- Markus: I'm used to it.

Undefeated Golden Lion II
- The past...
- A young warrior confronts his general after a fierce battle against the White Capes
- Young & Spirited Warrior: General! This fight was stifling!
- Young & Spirited Warrior: The White Capes killed so many of us!
- Young & Spirited Warrior: We exchanged captives in the end and that's it?
- Heroic General: Do you have a better idea?
- Young & Spirited Warrior: Kill those bastards! Fight to the end!
- Heroic General: Hmm...based on the situation just now and the abilities of our warriors...
- Heroic General: One warrior can probably get six White Capes...
- Young & Spirited Warrior: That will be worth it!
- Heroic General: But what's the price?
- Heroic General: We'll lose more than 40 of our most excellent warriors, and you...
- Young & Spirited Warrior: I'm not afraid to die!
- Heroic General: But I don't wish for you to die...
- Heroic General: A few hundred casualties mean nothing to the White Capes, but losing you and the warriors...
- Heroic General: It'll be a great blow to our spirits.
- Heroic General: Then again, I was the one who gave the order to retreat...
- Heroic General: Yet it was you who carried out the order on the battlefield...
- Young & Spirited Warrior: You once taught me to analyze the battlefield format and make judgments that maximize benefits...
- Young & Spirited Warrior: We were ambushed by the White Capes and outnumbered. It wasn't the right time for us to fight, and so it was best that we retreated.
- Heroic General: Then you understood!
- Young & Spirited Warrior: But my heart aches!
- Young & Spirited Warrior: We were supposed to save our people...
- Young & Spirited Warrior: In the end, we saved no one and countless brothers were sacrificed...
- Young & Spirited Warrior: General...I really want to avenge the brothers!
- Heroic General: Hmm...such pain is worse than death...I get it...
- Heroic General: Almost every day, I see the faces of the warriors who were sacrificed...
- Heroic General: I remember each of their names, yet I have no way of avenging them...
- Young & Spirited Warrior: Ugh...
- Heroic General: As a commander and a leader, such pain is inevitable.
- Heroic General: We have the entire troop on our shoulders, and the Gyee clan behind us!
- Heroic General: Even if there are more sacrifices...
- Heroic General: We can't fight a war we can't win!
- Heroic General: Even if it gets more painful, we can only endure it, then look for a chance and turn the battle around!
- Heroic General: Even if our heartache gets worse, it's still better than having our warriors and people sacrifice themselves in vain!
- Young & Spirited Warrior: ...
- Young & Spirited Warrior: I get it now...general!
- The present...
- Day 21 of the Shadow occupation of the Azria ruins...
- The Shadowhunters, the Gyee and the Sword of Light signed an agreement in Westhold to fight the Shadows together...
- Just like it was during the Second Shadow War, the humans were united once more...
- The Alliance fought steadily and took the entrance to Lake Bliss...
- This ensured the safety of Never Isle and Crossport...
- They fought steadily and advanced toward the west, approaching Azria...
- Yet, while on the surface, the Shadows were defeated and retreating...
- An undercover agent was infiltrating the Alliance's core, the fragile bond...
- Day 29 of the Shadow occupation of the Azria ruins...
- A loud bang tore the evening silence in Crossport...
- A crowd of Furry Gyees raided the Crossport port while yelling revenge...
- After two days, a Holy Light church in Crossport was raided by Furry Gyees...
- A few hundred Crossport civilians were killed in the raids...
- There were massive civilian casualties, and at the same time, a lot of witnesses of the Furry Gyees in the raids...
- Crossport was full of anti-Gyee sentiments, and angry citizens began to protest...
- To ensure that the Anti-Shadow Allied Force could be sustained, the Sword of Light invited representatives from Never Isle to investigate the raids...
- Miles and Eddie destroyed the Shadows' conspiracy and stopped the rest of the planned raids...
- However, the Shadows did a perfect job dealing with the aftermath, leaving no trace of their involvement...
- Once Crossport was safe, the Alliance's operations continued...
- When they took over the last beachhead, the Shadows' Azria stronghold was well within reach...
- Day 36 of the Shadow occupation of the Azria ruins...
- The Alliance initiated a final attack!
- As predicted, the Holy Light Priests' light arcana was able to dispel the Shadow Reapers' Shadow Barrier...
- However, just when the Alliance was about to bomb the Shadow stronghold...
- Just when the Alliance was about to chase the Shadows out of the Ruins of Azria...
- The third Shadow Reaper showed his true colors...
- A massive amount of Shadow flux materialized into a Shadow spear and pierced through the Sword of Light's battleship...
- In an instant, the proud human battleship dived downward...
- Toward the ground...
- With the decisive weapon gone, the Alliance had no choice but to retreat...
- Anyone could see that the furry raids in Crossport was the Shadows' evil plan...
- The goal was to drive Never Isle and Crossport apart, destroying the Alliance...
- Yet when their lives were in danger...
- Not everyone could remain rational...
- The White Capes pointed their swords at their allies...
- White Capes Soldier: For the Crossport civilians and warriors that died in vain...
- White Capes Soldier: You'll pay for this! Damned yellow eye!
- White Cape musketeers take aim and fire at Miles
- Grey: Roar!
- Miles: Grey!
- Grey jumps up and covers Miles.
- The impact from the shot pushes both of them off the cliff.
- Eddie: Miles!
- Eddie: No!
- Later...
- In the forests in Central Luxium, several kilometers east of the Ruins of Azria
- Markus speaks with Jerren about Miles's whereabouts
- Markus: Still no news from Miles's squad?
- Jerren: Something's wrong... The Shadows didn't block our comm signal this time...
- Jerren: Even if they ran into the enemy, we should have received news about it...
- Markus: ...
- Markus: Something must be wrong...
- Jerren: I'll bring some warriors with me to search for them!
- Markus: Hmm... No!
- Markus: The Shadow Reaper's Shadow Barrier is reviving. Take the warriors who retreated to the airships first...
- Markus: I'll wait a little longer!
- Jerren: Then I'll stay as well. We can help each other in case there's an emergency.
- Player enters the camp and finds Markus
- Player: Commander! I have bad news...
- Markus: Player? Aren't you with Eddie?
- Markus: What...
- Player: The White Capes betrayed us...
- Player: Miles was attacked by the White Capes from all sides. He fell off a cliff, and I'm afraid...
- Markus: What...
- Jerren: This...this is impossible! Why would Miles fall into the Shadows' trap...
- Player: It's the truth. Eddie saw it with his own eyes!
- Markus: (surprised)
- Jerren: Those White Cape bastards!
- Jerren: I must...kill them all!
- Markus stops Jerren
- Markus: Don't act blindly!
- Jerren: Commander! The White Capes betrayed us!
- Markus: Listen to my orders! Jerren!
- Jerren: Hmm...
- Jerren: Yes, sir!!
- Jerren: What should we do, commander?
- Markus: Other troops of the Oathblades are fine. This isn't a large-scale and organized betrayal by the White Capes...
- Markus: All Oathblades troops, retreat as planned!
- Jerren: Wha...what? But Miles...
- Markus: I know!
- Markus: The Shadow forces are regrouping. The Shadow Reaper's barrier is recovering as well...
- Markus: If the White Capes leave, we won't be able to get out once the Shadow Barrier is recovered!
- Jerren: But Miles... He must still be alive. If we hurry...
- Markus: According to the battle arrangements, the cliff near where Miles is should be right next to the Elysian River...
- Markus: If we head over there now, we won't be able to find him...
- Markus: Jerren, arrange for two searching airships to go around the area controlled by the Shadows...
- Markus: And conduct detailed searches along the downstream of the Elysian River.
- Markus: I'll take the brothers back to Never Isle.
- Jerren: Yes, sir!
- Markus: Remember!
- Markus: Before you get back to Never Isle, what happened to Miles must be kept a secret!
- Jerren: Yes, sir!
- Jerren and his squad leave
- Markus: ...
- You noticed that Markus was shaking slightly...
- Player: Commander...
- Markus: Yes?
- Player: ...
- Markus notices Player looking at his trembling fists, concern written all over Player's face
- Markus: ...
- Markus: Hmm! Of course! Miles must be fine!
- Markus: Retreat with us, Player!
- Player: Okay!
- Back on Never Isle...
- Player, Will and Markus escaped from the failed operation
- Once they disembark from the airship at Never Isle's port, they are confronted by a large mob of Oathblades warriors
- Furious Oathblades Warrior: This is a blatant betrayal!
- Furious Oathblades Warrior: They will pay for what they've done!
- Will: Calm down!
- Will: We don't know what exactly happened yet.
- Furious Oathblades Warrior: An eye for an eye!
- Furious Oathblades Warrior: An eye for an eye!
- Player: (angry)
- Markus: What do you think you're doing?!
- With Markus's roar...
- The furious Oathblades Warriors stopped talking for a moment.
- Oathblades Warrior: We heard about what happened, sir!
- Oathblades Warrior: The White Capes stabbed Miles in the back!
- Oathblades Warrior: Revenge! We want revenge!
- Markus: Revenge? Do you really want Miles dead?
- Oathblades Warrior: Hmm...
- Markus: If you can, form a search party!
- Markus: Find Miles along the Elysian River and bring him back!
- Oathblades Warrior: Yes, sir!
- A few moments later...
- Markus: ...
- Markus: We won't make it if we go from Never Isle.
- Markus: Will, about rescuing Miles...
- Will: I already asked the Light of Purity in Elysiann.
- Markus: Thanks.
- Markus: What happened couldn't have killed him!
- Markus: We must find him!
- Markus leaves
- Player: Commander...
- Will: Player...
- Will: Let him cool off.
- Two days later...
- Day 38 of the Shadow occupation of the Azria ruins...
- The rescue squads from Never Isle and Elysiann returned...
- They didn't find Miles...
- Ultimately, the Oathblades announced that Miles died while fighting...
- At the Oathblades HQ, a group of hot-headed warriors try to convince Markus to give the command for revenge
- Oathblades Warrior: Commander!
- Oathblades Warrior: We must avenge Miles! Kill them all!
- Oathblades Warriors: Flatten Crossport, flatten Crossport!
- Markus: ...
- Markus: Are you done?
- Oathblades Warriors: Avenge Miles...
- Markus: Quiet!
- Markus: I'll get justice for Miles.
- Oathblades Warrior: Justice?
- Oathblades Warrior: When have the Oathblades needed justice?
- Oathblades Warrior: The Oathblades need revenge!
- Markus: If we attack Crossport in revenge, what will happen to Never Isle?
- Markus: If we kill the White Capes, what are we going to do about the Shadow Reaper's Shadow Barrier?
- Markus: If you have a way to get rid of the Shadow Barrier, we'll go and kill the White Capes right away!
- Oathblades Warrior: Hmm...
- Oathblades Soldier: ...
- Markus: If you don't have any ideas, then be quiet!
- Markus: Go back and train. Get stronger...
- Markus: We still have a huge battle to fight!
- Oathblades Warrior: Yes...
- Many of the warriors leave but one soldier stays behind
- Markus: Seems like there's something you want to say.
- Oathblades Soldier: Uhh... No...
- Markus: You aren't happy that we didn't start a war with the White Capes, are you?
- Oathblades Soldier: No... I dare not...
- Markus: Dare not?
- Markus: ...
- Markus: Quiz time. Have you memorized my itinerary for tomorrow?
- Oathblades Soldier: Of course!
- Oathblades Soldier: Early morning, you'll hold the elites' training...
- Oathblades Soldier: When the training is over, you'll attend the Arcana Academy's Allied Force battle meeting...
- Oathblades Soldier: Then you'll monitor the stepping stone base of the Shadows' Azria stronghold...
- Oathblades Soldier: And then you'll return to the Oathblades training ground to give a speech to the new warriors who passed the training exam...
- Oathblades Soldier: Also, you'll have to observe Red Harbor's logistics route, and monitor the modification work on the high-speed assault ships...
- Oathblades Soldier: And also...
- Markus: Not bad! You're taking your job seriously. Well done!
- Markus: Not much is happening tomorrow. Go back and rest.
- Oathblades Soldier: Yes, sir!
- The soldier leaves
- Markus: ...
- Markus walks over to the dock and looks across Lake Bliss, brows furrowed...
- Sadness overwhelmed him...
- Player: Hmm...is that...Commander Markus?
- Player spots Markus at the dock but before he approaches, he sees Markus take out his comms crystal
- Markus: It's me... Did you find something?
- Markus: ...
- Markus: Really? Okay...
- Markus: That's right. All Oathblades rescue squads have turned around. The Shadows' threat is still present.
- Markus: And so we'll have to count on you going forward...
- Markus: I need to bring Miles back...alive or...
- Markus: dead...!
- Markus: ...
- Markus felt a sharp pain...
- Markus stumbles and almost drops his comms crystal, one hand gripping the breastplate over his heart
- Markus: Hmm...
- Player: Commander!
- Player: Are you okay, commander?
- Markus: Eh! What are you doing here, Player?
- Player: What's wrong, commander?
- Markus: Oh, I'm fine...
- Markus: Just an old injury...
- Markus regains his composure
- Player: That's good.
- Markus: Player, you were so quiet...caught me by surprise...
- Player: I wasn't trying to sneak up on you. You seemed preoccupied...
- Player: Come to think of it, given what happened...
- Player: It's natural to be emotional...
- Markus: (surprised)
- Markus: ...
- Markus: I'm...not emotional.
- Player: ...
- Markus: Sorry, Player. I need to go...
- Player: Commander!
- Player: You know...I'm really sorry about Miles!
- Markus: ...
- Markus: It's not your fault. You don't have to apologize, Player.
- Markus: The battlefield is cruel. Anyone can die at any time!
- Markus: I've experienced things like that too many times...
- Markus: I'm used to it.
- Player: How can you get used to it?
- Player: You've always put emphasis on friendships...
- Markus: (surprised)
- Player: Miles...he...
- Overwhelmed with emotions, your tears began to shed uncontrollably...
- Markus: ...
- Markus held you lightly...
- Markus: It's okay, child.
- Player: Commander...I...
- Markus: Cry it out. You'll feel better...
- Player: Ugh...
- Markus puts on a brave face
- Markus: Everything will get better!
- A few moments later...
- Player: Commander...thank you...
- Markus: Don't worry about it.
- Player: ...
- Player: (Given his position, the commander must keep up his image, but he's a person after all...)
- Player: (I was planning to help the commander...)
- Player: (I didn't think the commander would be the one comforting me...)
- Markus: Player, get some rest. We still need you going forward.
- Player: Happy to help.
- Markus: (smiles)
- Player: Commander!
- Player: I know you have a lot on your shoulders...
- Player: If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know!
- Markus: (surprised)
- Markus: Okay!
- Markus leaves
- Two days later...
- Under pressure, the White Capes handed the lead soldier who betrayed Miles over to the Oathblades...
- Oathblades Warrior: Traitor!
- Markus speaks to the White Capes soldier on the Oathblades training grounds, now turned into the execution grounds
- Many angry Oathblades come to watch the execution
- Oathblades Warrior: Kill him!
- Oathblades Warrior: Kill him!
- Markus: Quiet!
- Markus: According to the Westhold Agreement, the Sword of Light dogma and Never Isle laws...
- Markus: You, having betrayed the Anti-Shadow Allied Force and all humans, are sentenced to death and will be executed immediately!
- The traitor had a horrifying expression on his face as he seemed to be yelling about something angrily...
- But his voice was drowned in the Oathblades warriors' roars...
- Markus: Pay the price for your betrayal!
- Markus gives the fatal blow
- As the traitor fell, the warriors erupted in cheers...
- Yet Markus didn't have a hint of a smile on his face...
- Markus: ...
- Markus: (grimace)
- Player and Eddie watch from the back
- Eddie: ...
- Player: The cheering...
- Player: The Commander killed the traitor.
- Eddie: ...
- Player: You look calm.
- Eddie: Of course...
- Eddie: He was just a scapegoat.
- Eddie: What's so exciting about that?
- Eddie: He was blinded by hatred, and he could not have come up with the plan to ambush Miles.
- Eddie: Someone used him and his hatred to kill Miles.
- Eddie: On that day, the squad that Miles worked with was transferred to us.
- Eddie: I'm sure a high-ranking White Cape was behind it.
- When the traitor's head fell, a loud roar exploded from the Oathblades' training ground.
- The warriors of Never Isle and Crossport stood together once again.
- But the traitor's death...
- Was not able to bridge the gap that he had created.
- The troops, allied in name but not in mind, do their best to defend beachhead.
- One month later...
- Day 70 of the Shadow occupation of the Azria ruins...
- Even though the Shadow Reapers didn't appear...
- Under constant Shadow attacks...
- The Alliance lost the beachhead, which they were hoping to use as a stepping stone to attack the Shadow base.
- Interestingly, they lost the base, but the defenders were able to retreat unscathed.
- Day 72 of the Shadow occupation of the Azria ruins...
- Never Isle, outside Oathblades HQ...
- Markus: Today is the day the warriors who passed the training examination will join the Oathblades...
- Markus: Are they ready with their oaths?
- Jerren: Hmm...
- Jerren: The ceremony will commence in half an hour...
- Jerren: I'll lead the newcomers in their oaths.
- Markus: The Oathblades only select a new batch of warriors every six months...
- Markus: I must check out these youngsters. They are the Oathblades' future after all.
- Markus: Not to mention these are special times we live in. All the more reason for me to lead the warriors in their oaths!
- Jerren: Hmm...commander...
- Jerren: I can take care of that. You rarely get a chance to rest!
- Markus: No, you're hiding something from me.
- Markus: What happened? Out with it!
- Jerren: ...
- Jerren: The number of warriors in the new batch isn't even half of the usual number...
- Jerren: Perhaps a third...
- Markus: ...
- Markus: You don't have to hide something like this from me going forward...
- Markus: This is but expected.
- Never Isle, Oathblades training camp...
- Markus and Jerren prepare for the oath ceremony in front of the new recruits
- Oathblades Recruit A: (Whispers) It's the undefeated Golden Lion! Commander Markus! I must be dreaming!
- Oathblades Recruit B: (Whispers) He's not the same commander...
- Oathblades Recruit A: (Whispers) What?
- Oathblades Recruit B: (Whispers) Working with the White Capes...
- Oathblades Recruit B: (Whispers) A brother was betrayed by the White Capes, and he merely killed the White Capes' scape goat and did nothing else...
- Oathblades Recruit B: (Whispers) The real Golden Lion wasn't like that!
- Oathblades Recruit A: (Whispers) That's because we must fight the Shadows!
- Oathblades Recruit A: (Whispers) He compromised in order to win!
- Oathblades Recruit B: (Whispers) Win? Have you won?
- Oathblades Recruit A: (Whispers) You...
- Oathblades Recruit A: (Whispers) Then why didn't you leave? Like the others?
- Oathblades Recruit B: (Whispers) Because my brother was killed by the Shadows. I need to do something.
- Oathblades Recruit A: ...
- Oathblades Recruit A: (Whispers) Trust the commander! He will lead the Gyees to victory!
- Jerren: Quiet! Next, please welcome Commander Markus to lead you in your oaths!
- Markus steps forward
- Markus: Brothers!
- Markus: You are all aware of the situation Never Isle is in and the threat we face...
- Markus: During such a critical time, you're willing to put aside your hatred for now and pick up a weapon to fight...
- Markus: I, Markus, thank you!
- Markus bowed to everyone...
- Markus: All of you standing here are brothers who are ready to place your trust in me...
- Markus: Then I won't keep things from you!
- Markus: The Shadows have never been stronger! The Oathblades are working with our enemy to fight them...
- Markus: We suffered multiple setbacks in our attacks and many excellent warriors left us...
- Markus: Our road ahead will definitely be bloody and cruel!
- Markus: Among us, many will be sacrificed...
- Markus: I won't force you. You can go home...
- Markus: Oathblades' warriors will use their lives to protect you!
- Markus: Or you can become an Oathblades Warrior and protect our family and friends together!
- Markus: We'll fight in bloodbaths and devour our enemies' flesh! We'll grind their will!
- Markus: We'll ensure the Gyees' future with domination and power!
- Markus: Is anyone quitting?
- Oathblades Recruits: No!
- Markus: Good! You're all excellent warriors. You're all real men!
- Markus: Now, repeat after me!
- Markus: I, with the sword in my hand, hereby pledge...
- Oathblades Recruits: I, with the sword in my hand, hereby pledge...
- Markus: That I won't forget the ruins under the feet, or the humiliation in the past...
- Oathblades Recruits: That I won't forget the ruins under the feet, or the humiliation in the past...
- Markus: When darkness descends, I'll be the shining blade!
- Oathblades Recruits: When darkness descends, I'll be the shining blade!
- Markus: My beliefs are firmer than steel, and my will is infectious!
- Oathblades Recruits: My beliefs are firmer than steel, and my will is infectious!
- Markus: We will take revenge!
- Oathblades Recruits: We will take revenge!
- Markus: I give my life to the Gyees. I'll become a sword that protects Never Isle and fights for my people's freedom and liberation!
- Oathblades Recruits: I give my life to the Gyees. I'll become a sword that protects Never Isle and fights for my people's freedom and liberation!
- Markus: The battlefield is my glory...
- Oathblades Recruits: The battlefield is my glory...
- Markus: The enemies' cries are my battle song. The enemies' blood is my wine!
- Oathblades Recruits: The enemies' cries are my battle song. The enemies' blood is my wine!
- Markus raises his sword
- Markus: From today onward, I won't put my sword down...
- Oathblades Recruits: From today onward, I won't put my sword down...
- Markus: Until all enemies of the Gyees are slaughtered!
- Oathblades Recruits: Until all enemies of the Gyees are slaughtered!
- Markus: That concludes the oath!
- Markus: Brothers, welcome to the Oathblades!
- That afternoon, the Shadowhunters invited representatives of Never Isle and Crossport...
- To the Mona Altar to discuss another counterattack against the Shadows...
- When they returned to Never Isle, it was deep into the night...
- Markus and Jerren exit the Oathblades HQ
- Markus: You must be exhausted today. Go back and rest!
- Markus: Busy day tomorrow.
- Jerren: Yes, sir! You should rest, too, commander...
- Markus: Okay!
- Jerren leaves
- Markus: ...
- Markus walks over to a nearby ledge that overlooks the empty streets of Never Isle
- Ever since Never Isle was bombed by the Shadows, a compulsory order of curfew was put in place...
- The curfew could indeed protect the people, and it could control the activities of Shadow Spies on the island...
- The price, however, was that evenings became dead silent with completely empty streets...
- Markus: (grimace)
- Markus: I'm not sleepy at all...
- Markus: I should find a bar to get a drink.
- Markus pauses
- Markus: With the curfew in place, all the bars are closed at night...
- Markus: Hmm...
- Markus: ...
- Markus: Oh right! There's still him...
- Markus: He returned to Never Isle with us and should still be up...
- Markus: (Takes out Arcana communication crystal.)
- Markus: Hey, Player, am I interrupting?
- Markus: Is your Hottie Bar open for business?
- A few moments later...
- Markus: Yeah! Cheers!
- Player: Cheers!
- Player and Markus enjoy a drink at the Hottie Bar
- Markus: Ha! That's some good booze!
- Markus: Here, keep it coming!
- Hottie: Command received...
- Hottie: Please enjoy.
- Markus: Thank goodness your Hottie Bar is open. I hope it's not too much trouble for you to entertain me at this hour...
- Player: Don't worry about it, commander. I'm glad I could help.
- Markus: ...
- Markus: I'm curious though, Player. Why are you always trying to help me out?
- Player: Eh?
- Markus: Let me be clear. If you want to go out with me, you'll have to wait in line.
- Player: Eh! What...
- Markus: Haha! You look so nervous. I was just kidding!
- Player: Hmm...we're friends. Isn't it normal for friends to help each other?
- Markus: Haha...
- Markus: There I thought on Never Isle there are only people who expect something from me and people who hate me...
- Markus: I don't think there will be someone...
- Markus: Who considers me a friend.
- Player: (surprised)
- Player: Commander, I mean...Markus...
- Player: Let's give cheers to friends!
- Markus: Yeah! Cheers!
- A few moments later...
- Markus ordered a few more glasses of mild wine...
- Every time he emptied a glass, his expression was relaxed for a bit...
- But that would only last for ten or so seconds before his usual solemn expression returned...
- Markus: ...
- Player: Do you want a glass of Lonely Desert? Your usual...
- Markus: That's okay...
- Markus: I still have to lead the training for the elite troops tomorrow. I can't get drunk.
- Player: Ever since the Shadows occupied Azria, you haven't really rested...
- Player: Even the strongest man can't go on like this...
- Player: Given this rare chance, you should let go of your position and relax for real.
- Markus: If I let go of my position...
- Markus: Then I really can't go on...
- Player: !!
- Markus: (Takes a huge gulp)
- Markus: On the first day, I lost the most elite batch of warriors...
- Markus: I even promised them a taste of my good wine upon our return from victory...
- Markus: It's such a shame that will never happen now!
- Player: ...
- Markus: From then on, I was forced to reconcile with my mortal enemy...
- Markus: The ones to blame for Azria's destruction, and even to fight with them!
- Markus clenched his fists, but quickly let go again...
- Markus: And even Miles had gone missing...
- Markus: Sigh... I was too strict with him...
- Markus: I was going to have a drink with him and chat when things slowed down...
- Markus: Maybe...that chance is gone as well...
- Player: No! We still haven't found Miles...
- Player: He must still be alive!
- Markus: Thank you.
- Markus: I haven't given up as well. I've been in contact with the civilian airships in Elysiann all along to search for Miles...
- Markus: I have something I need to say to him! He must come back!
- Player: Markus...
- Markus: Other than that, I still have to pacify the protesters and deal with my brothers' anger toward me...
- Markus: Not to mention the never-ending work...
- Markus drank the remaining wine in one gulp...
- Markus: That's why, like you said, even when the 'strongest man' can't go on...
- Markus: The 'commander' can!
- Player: (surprised)
- Markus: I'm sorry I dragged you here to drink with me.
- Markus: This is indeed a rare moment of rest...
- Markus: I should resume my position and head back to the Oathblades to sleep...
- Player: Commander!
- Player: The Hottie Bar will always be open for you...
- Player: Even if you only have a moment to let go of your burdens...
- Markus: (smiles)
- Markus: Thank you!
- ...
- ...
- The past...
- The young warrior runs through the burning streets of Azria to find his general
- Young & Spirited Warrior: General! General!
- Heroic General: Hmm...
- Young & Spirited Warrior: General, you're hurt!
- Young & Spirited Warrior: The White Capes!
- Heroic General: I'm okay! What are you doing back?
- Young & Spirited Warrior: We've slaughtered all of the enemies attacking the south gate. I've led the brothers back to support you!
- Heroic General: The Shadows at the south gate were all slaughtered? Well done!
- Young & Spirited Warrior: General, please take a break. I'll kill all of the Shadows with the brothers!
- Heroic General: Hold on!
- Heroic General: The Light Nexus has fallen. The brothers at the east gate, west gate and north gate can't hold on anymore!
- Heroic General: I'll stay here with Harmon. You take the brothers and retreat!
- Young & Spirited Warrior: No, general, I'm not retreating! I want to fight with you!
- Heroic General: Have I taught you nothing? We fell into the Shadows' trap, and the White Capes vastly outnumbered us...
- Heroic General: At times like this, what should we do?
- Young & Spirited Warrior: Our momentum is gone. We should keep our strength and retreat fully...
- Young & Spirited Warrior: But you're not just a conductor. You're a warrior as well!
- Heroic General: No, not anymore...
- Heroic General: Remember what I told you?
- Heroic General: One day, it will be up to you youngsters to lead the people going forward...
- Heroic General: Right now, Markus, you'll take over my position!
- Young Markus: Uhh...General Raven!
- General Raven: Gather your warriors and lead those who survived to retreat from the south gate!
- Young Markus: No...no...I can't leave you behind!
- General Raven: Go!
- General Raven: Remember! The tragedy of Azria must not be repeated! Don't let the Gyees...fall!
- General Raven continues on into the heart of the battle
- Young Markus: General Raven...no!
- Young Markus: ...
- Markus gives a command to the Oathblades
- Young Markus: Brothers! Protect the people who survived...
- Young Markus: And retreat from the south gate!
- A few moments later...
- Pair after pair of Gyee Warriors turned into streaks of golden light and dashed toward the Light Nexus occupied by the Shadows...
- The nexus exploded. The warriors died with the Shadows. And Azria...turned into ruins...
- But the Gyees survived. They crossed the Elysian River and built a new home on Lake Bliss...
- Named...
- Never Isle...
- The present...
- With the ongoing war, the people who were already restless to begin with became impatient...
- Fear and hatred gradually fermented in people's hearts...
- The people began to question their leader; is working with the White Capes really going to bring them victory?
- Some of the impetuous people formed organizations and began to protest in rage...
- Not just Never Isle, but Crossport as well...
- But considering the looming Shadow threat and how tense the current situation was...
- Ultimately, while the Gyee protesters picketed and screamed...
- The Sword of Light invited representatives from Never Isle and the Shadowhunters to gather at Crossport...
- So that they might find a new way out for humankind.
- Day 78 of the Shadow occupation of the Azria ruins...
- Led by the Shadowhunters, a new Anti-Shadow Alliance Agreement was drafted...
- However, before the new agreement was signed...
- An unexpected person arrived at the meeting...
- Grancy: Considering the incredible powers of the Shadow Reapers...
- Grancy: The Shadowhunters will contribute all of our Wanderlight fragments and anti-Shadow artifacts.
- Grancy: We will also send sixty percent of our troops to the alliance to fight the Shadows.
- General Diesel: Thank the Holy Light!
- General Diesel: Only the signing of the agreement left, then.
- General Diesel: Grancy, Commander Markus, and General Will, this way, please...
- General Diesel: Once each of you sign, the Crossport agreement will be effective.
- Player and Eddie watch as each representative writes their signature on the new agreement
- Player: Looks like our trip to Crossport is coming to an end.
- Eddie: Ugh...
- Player: Eddie, why are you crying?
- Eddie: I'm fine...
- Eddie: But I just feel...
- Eddie: With a new agreement, he...
- Eddie: He's really...
- Eddie: No... No...
- ???: You can't sign it!
- Player: !!!
- Eddie: !!!
- Miles enters the meeting room
- Markus: (surprised)
- Markus: (smiles)
- Miles walks to the signing table
- Eddie: M... M...
- Miles: (Smiles...)
- Eddie: Is this really happening?
- Miles: As real as it gets.
- Markus: I knew you'd be back...
- Markus: I've always known!
- Miles: Brothers, we have plenty of time to talk!
- Miles: Before that, I'll deliver justice for the Oathblades elite warriors and the Alliance who died in vain!
- Player: Justice? Could it be...
- Miles: You didn't think I'd live, did you, Diesel?
- General Diesel: !! This really is...
- General Diesel: By the Holy Light, a miracle! I'm... so happy!
- Miles: How long can you keep this up?
- Miles: Diesel...
- Miles: All the sins you've committed, and all the debt you owe...
- Miles: Let's end it all today.
- General Diesel: ...
- General Diesel: What are you talking about?
- Miles: Still trying to fool us?
- Miles: Come in!
- The meeting room door opens once again
- Critically injured Lieutenant: General, do you remember me?
- Player: You're...
- General Diesel: ...
- It turned out that, during the Alliance's final attack when the White Capes betrayed Miles...
- Was the result of General Diesel of the White Capes using the Crossport furry attack to provoke the emotions of some of the White Capes warriors...
- A deliberate, well-planned conspiracy!
- And his goal was to become the general who would lead the Alliance's Sword of Light troops...
- And it wasn't just Miles. To achieve his goal, he secretly made false allegations against the White Capes' General Perth...
- Forcing General Perth to commit suicide in order to protect those under him...
- Everyone who participated in Diesel's plot were killed off...
- He wouldn't even make an exception of his own lieutenant, who had followed him for years, and threw his corpse into the sewage...
- Luckily, the lieutenant didn't die and was saved by Miles who was hiding in Crossport...
- Miles finally seized the chance to reveal the truth!
- Miles: Warriors of Holy Light...
- Miles: Did you see that? These are the true colors of your respected General!
- Miles: Do you really want to be led by such a selfish bastard?!
- General Diesel: Who... Who would have thought that Miles would be dumb enough to expose himself while investigating the Furries' attack?!
- General Diesel: Who would have thought that the alliance's final attack would fail?!
- General Diesel: I wanted the angry warriors to take revenge...
- General Diesel: And make you a martyr...
- General Diesel: Who would have thought that you would disregard the Shadow barrier and look for him?
- General Diesel: Everything I did... was for the sake of the Sword of Light!
- Markus: You're a clown! Until you pay for your betrayal, the Oathblades won't sign this agreement!
- Markus: I've had enough of this corrupted and dark place! Let's go!
- Miles: Humph!
- Eddie: Bastard!
- Grancy: (angry)
- Grancy: Shadowhunters, return to Westhold!
- General Diesel: Hold on...the agreement, you have to sign the agreement! The Shadows...the Shadows haven't...
- Suddenly, a kind yet determined voice filled the room...
- ???: Hold on, everyone!
- Holy Light Bishop: I'm the bishop of the Sword of Light.
- Holy Light Bishop: Diesel has indeed brought shame to the Holy Light...
- Holy Light Bishop: But I hope everyone can hear me out!
- Holy Light Bishop: Diesel, you've brought shame to the Holy Light!
- General Diesel: Your Excellency...
- Holy Light Bishop: Commander Markus, General Will, Mr. Player, Mr. Grancy...
- Holy Light Bishop: May I have a word with you?
- Miles: No more tricks!
- Markus: I'm curious about what you have to say.
- Holy Light Bishop: Please.
- The four follow the bishop to another room
- Holy Light Bishop: About the new agreement, I wonder if you could consider it further...
- Markus: We could, but you must get rid of Diesel...
- Markus: With such a conspirator around, no one can fight the Shadows at ease!
- Player: The Shadows are at our door, and all he could think about was advancing his gains...
- Player: It's not worth it to be allies with a Sword of Light like this!
- Holy Light Bishop: Excuse my frankness, but you still need the Holy Light's strength to overcome the Shadow Reaper's barrier, don't you?
- Markus: We know Diesel is one of your people, but now is not the time to protect one's own!
- Markus: And so, for the bigger picture, please do the right thing even if it's painful.
- Holy Light Bishop: ...
- Holy Light Bishop: It is for the bigger picture that I hope you all let Diesel go for now.
- Will: Why should we let him go?
- Holy Light Bishop: Even though Diesel secretly provoked the people and plotted numerous appalling crimes...
- Holy Light Bishop: Diesel's activities during this period have made him quite popular to the people in Crossport!
- Holy Light Bishop: If we get rid of Diesel and replace him with someone else right now...
- Holy Light Bishop: The people won't like it and their distrust against the Sword of Light will be deepened!
- Markus: This is your problem. You need to figure it out!
- Holy Light Bishop: Commander, I'm afraid this isn't just my problem.
- Holy Light Bishop: I'm sure your spies must have informed you of the Sword of Light's internal affairs...
- Holy Light Bishop: Diesel is a general of the anti-war faction. If it's made known to the pro-war faction that it was he who killed General Perth, who belonged to the pro-war faction...
- Holy Light Bishop: They would definitely make use of this point to their advantage!
- Holy Light Bishop: Once the people learn about Diesel's conspiracy, they will lose their trust in me as well!
- Holy Light Bishop: Commander, if someone from the pro-war faction replaces me...
- Holy Light Bishop: And the most rational General Perth in the pro-war faction is no longer with us...
- Holy Light Bishop: Do you think they will still want to form an alliance with Never Isle and form an allied force to fight the Shadows together?
- Markus: Are you threatening me?
- Holy Light Bishop: No! I'm begging you.
- Holy Light Bishop: Ultimately, I'm incapable! I can't fight the pro-war faction...
- Holy Light Bishop: But deep down I know the Shadows are our most serious threat. I'm willing to work with the Gyees and offer the Holy Light's strength to the Anti-Shadow Forces!
- Holy Light Bishop: So long as I'm still the bishop, priests of the Sword of Light can dispel the Shadow Reaper's barrier at any time!
- Markus: ...
- Player: (This old man...he's implying that, only if his position as bishop is secured will there be a chance to dispel the Shadow's barrier...)
- Player: (It may seem like he's showing us his weakness, but he's actually telling us how important he is...)
- Markus: Don't think you're the only ones who can tear the Shadow's barrier apart!
- Holy Light Bishop: But the Shadows won't give you time to look for someone else...
- Grancy: ...
- Grancy: Bishop, what do you want?
- Holy Light Bishop: You, and a few Sword of Light warriors, are the only ones who know about Diesel...
- Holy Light Bishop: I'll carry out the work of the Holy Light, while you keep this quiet...
- Markus: You mean...just let it go?
- Markus: He betrayed us. Warriors of the Oathblades died because of him!
- Holy Light Bishop: Diesel will pay for his betrayal...
- Holy Light Bishop: But he can't pay for it now given the big picture!
- Holy Light Bishop: We need Diesel as the spokesperson to keep the people calm.
- Holy Light Bishop: It's not too late to make him pay once we've defeated the Shadows!
- Markus: ...
- Holy Light Bishop: In exchange, I'm willing to send a few priests to Westhold to share their knowledge of the Holy Light arcana with the Shadowhunters.
- Holy Light Bishop: The more people we have to fight the Shadow's barrier, the more effective!
- Holy Light Bishop: Of course, if you're willing to let us set foot on Never Isle, we're also willing to share with the Arcana Academy...
- Will: No, that's not necessary!
- Holy Light Bishop: In the following actions, Diesel won't have any real power and won't be leading any troops...
- Holy Light Bishop: He's only a leader of the Anti-Shadow Alliances' Sword of Light troops in name.
- Holy Light Bishop: This is the best I can do.
- Holy Light Bishop: If this still can't maintain the Alliance...
- Holy Light Bishop: Then perhaps destruction...is in our destiny!
- Player: (Hmm...after we defeated the Shadows, Diesel will become a hero...)
- Player: (If this old man gets rid of the evidence and pays off the relevant witnesses...)
- Player: (It will be even more difficult to make Diesel pay...)
- Player: (But if this means the Alliance can be united...)
- Player: (Hmm...how are we going to explain this to Miles, to the Oathblades warriors who died?)
- Grancy: ...
- Grancy: Bishop, the Shadowhunters accept your suggestion. We will sign the new agreement!
- Player: (surprised)
- Will: Sigh...
- Will: Commander...
- Markus: I...I...can't accept...
- Holy Light Bishop: Commander, standing behind you and me are our own people...
- Holy Light Bishop: You are a true leader...
- Holy Light Bishop: You know what's more important.
- Markus: Shut up!
- Markus: I don't need you to remind me!
- Markus: ...
- Later...
- After the signing, Markus talks with Miles, Eddie and Player
- Markus told Miles his decision...
- The commander tried to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of his decision to Miles...
- But...
- Miles: ...
- Miles: Commander... Please, I beg of you!
- Miles: Our warriors are our brothers! They aren't pawns waiting to be sacrificed!
- Miles: Oathblades should never work with our enemies!
- Markus: ...
- Markus: I can't put Never Isle at risk! I can't place my hope on a solution we have yet to find...
- Markus: We have lost Azria. We can't lose Never Isle!
- Markus: We have already signed a new agreement...
- Markus: From today onward, Never Isle will work with the Shadowhunters and the Sword of Light to fight the Shadows...
- Miles: No!
- Markus: Miles, once we have defeated the Shadows...
- Markus: We can expose his evil doings in public or assassinate him, or even blast the entire Crossport!
- Markus: I will give you an answer!
- Markus: But just... not now...
- Miles: No!
- Miles: This... T-This... isn't right...
- Markus: I'm sorry...
- Markus: I have no choice...
- Miles: !!!
- Eddie: Miles...
- Miles: ...
- Eddie: Commander...
- Eddie: I hope you and the general can reconsider this...
- Player: Eddie...
- Eddie: I hope we and humans can make peace...
- Eddie: But we are still far from achieving that.
- Eddie: We have sacrificed too much just for this weak alliance...
- Eddie: We even sacrificed...the foundation of the Gyees' existence!
- Miles: ...
- Markus: ...
- Eddie: When Azria was destroyed, we were united!
- Eddie: But now? We are working with our enemies...
- Eddie: So what if we could save Never Isle? What will the people think?
- Miles: Eddie... That's enough.
- Miles: The Commanders...have made the decision.
- Miles starts walking towards the exit
- Player: Miles?
- Miles: I need some air!
- Eddie: No...
- Eddie: Miles!
- Markus: Eddie... Just give him a moment.
- Markus: As a leader, he must understand this...
- Markus: I have faith in him...
- Eddie: No... Commander...
- Eddie: Miles...
- Eddie: He never wanted to be a leader in the first place!
- Eddie goes after Miles
- Markus: !!
- Player: Eddie!
- Later...
- Holy Light Archbishop: Gentlemen, the Holy Light has made us put aside our history and unite again as one!
- Holy Light Archbishop: On behalf of the Sword of Light, I thank everyone's forbearance and contribution.
- Holy Light Archbishop: The Shadows...shall take our rage!
- A few moments later...
- After his speech, the archbishop stands next to General Diesel and addresses the Shadowhunters, Will, Markus and Player
- Holy Light Archbishop: My friends, this is a historical moment. Once again, thank you everyone.
- Grancy: You're welcome, Your Excellency.
- Grancy: This is all for Luxium's survival!
- Markus: ...
- Eddie approaches Player
- Eddie: Have you seen Miles?
- Player: No... What's wrong?
- Eddie: I can't find him anywhere...
- Player: What?
- Will: Where would he be?
- Markus: He said he needed a breather...
- Markus: Maybe...
- You suddenly sensed strong murderous energy from afar...
- Player: Hmm...
- Player: Look at the rooftop over there!
- Miles stands on top of the roof, a strange aura billowing out of him
- Miles: Grey...
- Miles: Brothers...
- Miles: This is... your revenge!
- General Diesel: !!
- General Diesel jumps in front of the archbishop just as a gun fires
- White Capes Guard: An assassin! Protect General Diesel!
- The White Cape guards protect the general
- Eddie: Wait, he's not an assassin!
- Player: Miles jumped from the rooftop!
- Miles walks towards the White Capes
- Miles: Revenge...
- Player: Miles!
- Eddie: Wait, Miles!
- White Capes Guard: He... What's going on?
- White Capes Guard: Uh...that was scary. It seems like he would kill you for looking at him...
- Miles: Anyone who stands in the way shall die!
- White Capes Guard: Ugh...
- The White Cape guards cowardly run away, leaving Diesel open
- Miles: DIESEL!!!
- General Diesel: Hmm... A monster!
- Miles runs to attack Diesel
- At the critical moment, Markus took Miles' impact...
- Markus: Hmm...
- Miles: Ahhh!!!
- Markus: Miles, calm down!
- Miles: Why... did you stop me?
- Markus: That's because our enemy...
- Markus: Is the Shadows!
- Markus: Without the Shadows, none of these would have happened!
- Miles: Don't stop me!
- Miles: Let me kill him!
- Markus: Take my life before you take his!
- White Capes Soldier: Musketeers, on your mark! The man is corrupted!
- Player: Nonsense! He's not!
- Eddie: Do not fire!
- White Capes musketeers run to the scene and point their guns at Miles
- White Capes Musketeer: Fire! Fire!
- Eddie: Miles, watch out!
- Eddie runs in front of Miles just as the White Cape musketeers fire
- Eddie: Ugh...
- Player: Eddie!
- Will: Everyone, do not fire!
- Will: Medic! We need the medic!
- Miles: Ed... Eddie!
- Miles: Eddie...
- Eddie: Ugh... Miles... Run!
- Eddie falls to the ground
- Miles: !! Eddie...
- White Capes Soldier: Argh... That Shadow Monster is losing his mind!
- White Capes Soldier: It's a monster! Everyone, kill it!
- Miles: Monster...
- Miles: ...
- Miles: White Cape...
- Miles: Go to hell!!!
- In a fury, Miles killed all those in his way and escaped from Crossport...
- The Alliance considered Miles a hidden threat and issued a warrant for his arrest...
- Never Isle, the Shadowhunters and the Sword of Light each sent a diplomatic corps to search for Miles...
- In the forests outside of Crossport...
- A warrior delivers his message to Markus
- Oathblades Warrior: Report! The trail from Miles ends here...
- Markus: Hmph!
- Markus: These are fake clues left behind by Miles. Someone get me a map of the nearby terrains!
- Oathblades Warrior: Yes, sir!
- Oathblades Warrior: Here is a map.
- Oathblades Warrior: Commander...are we really going to kill Miles?
- Markus: What are you talking about? Of course not!
- Markus: But the others will! That's why we must find Miles before they do!
- Oathblades Warrior: Understood!
- Markus: (Quickly reviews the nearby terrain...)
- Markus: East! Miles must have gone east!
- Oathblades Warrior: East? The Shadows' stronghold? But why...
- Markus: I know him. He wants revenge...
- Moments later, in front of the forest in eastern Crossport...
- Miles: Revenge... Revenge...
- Miles: I must kill...everyone...
- Miles struggles trying to contain the corruption taking over him
- Miles: Hmm...
- White Capes soldiers spot Miles and surround him
- White Cape Soldier: That monster's flux level seems to have become normal...
- White Cape Soldier: Now's our chance! Kill him!
- Miles: Hmm...White Capes...I must kill you...
- White Cape Soldier: You can't even stand up. What can you do?
- Markus arrives just in time
- Markus: Argh!
- White Cape Soldier: What?
- Markus: (angry)
- Markus kills the White Capes
- White Cape Soldier: Oh...you...how dare you...
- White Cape Soldier: Ugh...
- Markus: Miles! Miles, are you okay?
- Miles: Geezer...
- Markus props up Miles...
- Miles: Are...are you here to arrest me?
- Markus: (grimace)
- Markus: I'm here...
- Communication Crystal: Commander! The search team from the White Capes is here!
- Markus: Go!
- Miles: Geezer...
- Markus: Go! Don't let anyone see you!
- Markus: I'll stall them!
- Markus: Protect yourself. Once I've killed the Shadows, you come home!
- Miles: ...
- Miles runs away
- Markus: Child...I let you down...
- Another White Capes search group arrives
- Holy Light Bishop: Eh! What happened?
- Markus: Miles killed these Sword of Light warriors...
- Markus looks in the opposite direction that Miles left
- Markus: Judging from the trail, he went that way...
- Holy Light Bishop: Is that...so...
- Holy Light Bishop: Warriors of the Holy Light, let's go after him!
- Day 79 of the Shadow occupation of the Azria ruins...
- Oathblades, training grounds in the wilderness...
- Markus: The person I am now...
- Markus: Is indeed a coward.
- Jerren: Commander!
- Jerren: In order to collaborate with the White Capes...
- Jerren: All that has happened...is it worth it?
- Markus: That's not important!
- Markus: I'm the Oathblades' commander...
- Markus: So long as it's for the protection of Never Isle, for the Gyees' future...
- Markus: So long as we win in the end...
- Markus: A conspirator, an opportunist, a coward...
- Markus: I can be anyone!

Fragile Alliance
To protect the Anti-Shadow Allied Force, Markus sacrificed everything he valued. Yet victory didn't come as planned.
- Day 78 of the Shadow occupation of the Azria ruins...
- Never Isle, the Sword of Light and the Shadowhunters signed the Crossport Agreement...
- But at the same time, the White Capes' General Diesel betrayed the Oathblades, and the incident which got the White Capes' General Perth killed was buried...
- Miles was furious. He killed his way out of Crossport and became the Alliance's wanted fugitive...
- Eddie quit the Order of Equality, picked up Miles' spear and left Never Isle...
- The warriors who heard about this had mixed feelings...
- The signing of the Crossport Agreement meant the Anti-Shadow Alliance Force would remain in place...
- The human civilization was 'united' in their fight against the Shadows...
- Yet the so-called 'unity' was superficial...
- Day 86 of the Shadow occupation of the Azria ruins...
- The Anti-Shadow Alliance was easily defeated and the Alliance's forward base at the river entrance of Elysiann had fallen...
- Everything that the humans had done since the Shadows occupied the Ruins of Azria was wasted...
- Three Oathblades captains discuss the state of the war against the Shadow
- Oathblades Captain A: This is a complete waste of time!!
- Oathblades Captain A: What is your troop's casualty?
- Oathblades Captain B: A third. We dared not move forward and retreated.
- Oathblades Captain B: Sigh...
- Oathblades Captain C: My troop suffered great casualties as well. Those Shadowhunters and White Capes didn't do anything for us!
- Oathblades Captain C: I've never fought so stiflingly as I did this week all my life!
- Oathblades Captain A: If this goes on, it will be the end of Never Isle!
- Oathblades Captain A: The Alliance is a joke!
- Oathblades Captain C: A few of us and some brothers of similar sentiments...
- Oathblades Captain C: We're quitting the Oathblades to fight the Shadows by ourselves!
- Oathblades Captain B: But if we're gone...what's going to happen to the commander?
- Oathblades Captain B: The Oathblades need more warriors right now!
- Oathblades Captain A: He hasn't been the commander we used to know for some time now!
- Oathblades Captain A: All because of this useless alliance...
- Oathblades Captain A: He even betrayed Miles!
- Oathblades Captain B: But...
- Oathblades Captain C: I know you owe the commander!
- Oathblades Captain C: But the whole country's at stake! Personal sentiments should give way to the big picture!
- Oathblades Captain B: Okay...I agree the Oathblades can't defeat the Shadows in their current state...
- Oathblades Captain B: I'll inform the commander of my resignation right now!
- Oathblades Captain A: I'll go with you!
- Oathblades Captain C: And me!
- A few moments later...
- Markus speaks with Jerren and an aide at Oathblades HQ
- Markus: I want a detailed report of our losses. Jerren, I'm putting you in charge of this!
- Jerren: ...
- Markus: Jerren!
- Jerren: ...commander...I have the preliminary numbers...
- Jerren: Oathblades have the most losses, followed by the Order of Equality...
- Jerren: Those White Capes didn't know how to fight! The Shadowhunters from Loong Mountains weren't really working with us as well!
- Jerren: The Alliance made us take all the hits!
- Jerren: Different troops hindering and restraining each other...
- Jerren: The brothers always had to worry about their backs and dared not give it their all!
- Markus: ...
- Jerren: A war can't be fought like this! Commander!
- Markus: ...
- Jerren: In order to maintain the Anti-Shadow Alliance, we betrayed the warriors who died in vain. We even betrayed Miles...
- Jerren: But what did we get in return?
- Jerren: The morale is nonexistent...
- Jerren: The Alliance can no longer organize an attack like the one early in the war!
- Markus: What are you trying to say?
- Jerren: It's time that the Oathblades withdraw from the Anti-Shadow Alliance!
- Markus: Withdraw...what about the Shadow Barrier?
- Jerren: There must be another way to deal with the Shadow Barrier!
- Jerren: The White Capes aren't the only ones capable of that!
- Markus: 'There must be another way'?
- Markus: I can't put the brothers' hope on an uncertain future!
- Jerren: But the future of the Alliance is death!
- Markus: (angry)
- Jerren: Commander, I've followed you since our time at Azria...
- Jerren: When Azria was destroyed, and everyone thought it's over...
- Jerren: What happened in the end?
- Jerren: The Oathblades didn't rely on a 'certain future' to become stronger!
- Markus: I see your view. I'll consider it.
- Markus: Going forward, I'll be really careful about matters regarding the Alliance...
- Markus: Go back and rest for now!
- Jerren: ...
- Jerren: Yes...
- Jerren leaves
- Markus: ...
- Markus: Sigh...
- Markus: Let's head back as well...
- Oathblades Soldier: Yes, sir!
- As Markus gets ready to leave, three captains stop him
- Oathblades Captain A: Commander!
- Markus: (surprised)
- Markus: It's late. Why aren't you sleeping?
- Oathblades Captain B: Commander...we're here to...
- Oathblades Captain C: We...we...
- Markus: ...
- Markus: If you have something to say, just say it.
- Oathblades Captain A: We're here to bid you farewell!
- Oathblades Captain B: These...these are our letters of resignation, and applications to quit the troops!
- Oathblades Captain C: Please give us your approval!
- Markus: (Takes over the letters of resignation and looks over them briefly...)
- Markus: ...
- Markus: Is that so...
- Markus: This is the ninth year that you've been with the Oathblades.
- Markus: You must have thought long and hard before coming to hand in your resignation...
- Markus: I won't force you to stay.
- Oathblades Captain C: Commander...
- Markus: No matter where you end up going...
- Markus: Don't forget the oath you pledged when you joined the Oathblades!
- Oathblades Captain A: We will never forget our oath until the day we die!
- Markus: It's just that, since we've been brothers for so many years...
- Markus: I must give you a proper farewell...
- Markus: It's too late right now, head back to rest...
- Markus: Tomorrow, once I'm done with work, I'll take you out for drinks.
- Markus: Stay until we've had a drink!
- Oathblades Captain B: Hmm...thank you, Commander.
- Oathblades Captain C: Then we'll head back to the dormitory...
- The captains leave
- Markus: ...
- Markus: You go ahead. I'll take a walk...
- Oathblades Soldier: Commander, there's a meeting with the Arcana Academy tomorrow morning...
- Markus: I remember...
- Markus: You've worked hard today. Go back and sleep. I...
- Markus: I'll visit the injured warriors before heading back.
- Oathblades Soldier: Yes, sir!
- Markus watches the aide leave before he starts to walk towards Never Isle's dock
- Some time later, at Hottie Bar...
- Player: Billy, are you upset?
- Billy: Sigh...
- Billy: We were defeated by the Shadows again...
- Billy: The Shadows are getting closer and closer...
- Billy: We can't let them bomb Never Isle again!
- Player: Billy...
- Billy: Hmm...if only I could work harder...
- Player: Why are you criticizing yourself?
- Player: The Shadows' attacks came in like a tsunami. You'll need more than a few strong warriors to defend against it...
- Player: We've tried our best.
- Player: But you overexerted yourself during the battle today and ended up with injuries all over...
- Player: Are you feeling better?
- Billy: My body heals quickly. I'm okay!
- Player: That's good...
- Player: But you can't risk your life like that again!
- Billy: But if we don't work harder, the Shadows will attack Never Isle again!
- Billy: If Never Isle falls...sigh...then everyone will lose their home!
- Player: (Pats Billy's shoulder...) It's going to be fine!
- Player: Never Isle will never go down Azria's path!
- Billy: Really?
- Player: Of course! Because I have faith in Never Isle's leader!
- Player: I have faith in Commander Markus and General Will!
- Player: We will take Azria back, defeat the Shadows and be victorious in the end!
- Billy: ...
- Billy: Yes! We will!
- Player and Billy both hear the door to the bar open
- Billy: Eh? Who's coming...at this hour?
- Markus enters
- Markus: You're still awake, Player?
- Markus: Billy's here as well...
- Markus: Is Hottie Bar still open for business? Can I get a drink?
- Player: (smiles)
- Player: Hottie Bar is open 24 hours.
- Billy: I'll let you two chat... I'll head back now. Call for me if you need me!
- Billy leaves the two of them alone
- Player: What do you want?
- Markus: Let me think...
- Player: I'll ask Hottie to prepare your order first, commander!
- Markus: Don't call me 'commander' here.
- Markus: I just want to sit with you as your friend.
- Player: Okay~
- Markus: Can I have a few glasses of Lonely Desert?
- Markus: It's been quite a while...
- Player: (surprised)
- Player: No Problem!
- Sometime later after several rounds of drinking...
- You were getting tipsy...
- Yet in contrast to his usual behavior, Markus didn't seem to want to stop drinking at all...
- Player: (The commander is strong after all. He doesn't seem the least bit drunk after all those glasses of wine...)
- Markus: (Downs another glass...) Ha!
- Player: (If I look closely, I can see that his cheeks are a little bit red...)
- Player: (Hmm...Markus has always been handsome...he looks even better when he's tipsy!)
- Markus: Young man, why are you staring at me?
- Player: Eh! I wasn't...
- Player: Just that...you can really hold your liquor!
- Markus: Ha! If I can't hold my liquor, how can I manage the young Oathblades?
- Markus: Not to mention, your wine is exceptionally tasty...so naturally I can drink more!
- Player: If it's tasty, you should have another!
- Markus: Come on!
- Markus finished the last bit of wine in his glass...
- This time, Markus didn't get to relax for even a moment...
- Markus: ...
- But he forced a smile anyway...
- Markus: This is really good stuff...
- Player: If you consider me your friend, then don't force yourself to smile...
- Markus: (surprised)
- Markus: Do you happen to like sulky old men?
- Player: ...
- Player: As a leader, even when the sky is falling, you must put on a brave face and stay strong...
- Player: But, as you said before, there's no 'commander' here!
- Markus: Leader...
- Markus: When I got here just now, I heard you and Billy said...
- Markus: You have faith in me and General Will, that we will lead the Gyees to be victorious in the end!
- Markus: Do you really think we can win?
- Player: Of course! Ever since the Shadows occupied the Ruins of Azria...
- Player: You and General Will exhausted your energy and mind to come up with ways to protect the people...
- Player: Even though the current situation isn't the most ideal...
- Player: But I know you must have a plan to counterattack!
- Markus: !
- Hearing what you just said...
- Markus's expression looked even worse...
- Markus: ...
- Markus poured two glasses of wine before offering you one...
- Markus: I'm afraid I'll let you down...
- Player: Eh?
- Markus: I'll be honest with you, Player...
- Markus: About the strategy meeting tomorrow morning...
- Markus: I have absolutely no idea what to do.
- Player: (surprised)
- Markus: The current Alliance is no longer the same as before...
- Markus: There isn't even the most basic trust among us...
- Markus: For the Shadowhunters, only the few directors whom we've known for a long time are willing to work with us...
- Markus: The main troop's strategy is too conservative...
- Markus: The White Capes' anti-war faction has no idea how to fight!
- Markus: In the end, we, Never Isle, are the only ones with effective fighting capability to face our enemies...
- Markus: They are protecting their troops, but that doesn't mean our warriors should be sacrificed!
- Markus: We had no choice but to retreat, and our base at the river entrance in Lake Bliss was lost just like that...
- Markus: If this goes on...
- Markus: The Shadows' next target...is very likely going to be Never Isle...
- Player: ...
- Markus: In order to build the Alliance, I asked our warriors to let go of their hatred for now and not to treat the White Capes as enemies...
- Markus: In order to maintain the Alliance, I even betrayed Miles...
- Markus: In the end, this is the fighting capability from the Alliance we got!
- Markus: (Slowly drinks some wine...)
- Markus: I know the Anti-Shadow Alliance is hopeless...
- Markus: But without the White Capes to dispel the Shadow Reaper's barrier, we can't get any closer to the Shadows' stronghold!
- Player: Osiris knows light arcana, but he used to be...
- Markus: We're already working with real White Capes...
- Markus: And he's a Gyee as well. His past isn't important!
- Markus: It's just that...we didn't ask for his help earlier on during the war...
- Markus: Once the Alliance was in formed, I didn't have the manpower to look for him...
- Player: Alright...
- Markus: (Downs a whole glass of wine himself...)
- Markus: I made a promise to General Raven that I would lead the brothers to go forward and wouldn't let the Gyees fall...
- Markus: I made a promise to the people, my brothers, that we will recover Azria and bring victory to them...
- Markus: ...
- Markus: In the end, those who always trusted me, the elite warriors of the Oathblades, were all sacrificed...
- Markus: A lot of the warriors died in vain in the hands of the White Capes...
- Markus: And Miles...
- Markus: Since he was young, he had worshipped me, trusted me and believed that I'd lead him to extinguish the Gyees' enemies!
- Markus: Yet I...
- Markus: Miles...
- Markus stared at the wine in front of him...
- Markus: Because of me...he couldn't come home...
- Markus: I don't even know where he is now...
- Markus: Whether or not he's safe...
- Player: Miles isn't your average man. He can take care of himself...
- Player: I think... Miles must be worried about you, too...
- Player: Somewhere out there, he hopes you can take good care of yourself.
- Markus: ...
- Player: Markus...
- Player: It doesn't matter how bad the current situation is...
- Player: We must have a way to recover Azria!
- Player: We can do it!
- Player: But for tonight, since you've come to Hottie Bar, just forget about what's happening outside...
- Player: Let's drink some good wine! Perhaps you'll figure it out after a good night's sleep!
- Markus: Haha...
- Markus: Okay! I'm not going to think about anything tonight! Let's drink!
- Player: This glass of wine...
- Choice 1.1 - Is for the undefeated Golden Lion!
- Markus: ...
- Markus: Also for Never Isle, for the Gyees!
- Choice 1.2 - For Miles!
- Markus: For Miles!
- Choice 1.3 - For the warriors who were sacrificed!
- Markus: They're all great warriors!
- Choice 1.4 - For you, Markus!
- Player: For Markus, who stands behind the legendary troop and never cowers!
- Markus: (surprised)
- Markus: Haha...
- Markus: Then this is for Player...
- Markus: For you who brought miracles and warmth to this world...
- Player: Hmm...
- Conversation continues after choices
- Markus: Cheers!
- Player: Cheers!
- ...
- ...
- Player: Ugh...my head...
- Player: Is this...my room?
- Player: Oh right, I remember now. I was drinking with Markus...
- Player: In the end...
- Player: Ugh...I can't remember...
- Player stumbles out of his room only to find Markus on the airship's deck, only in his underwear
- Markus studies the airship's control panel when Player interrupts
- Player: Hmm...Commander?
- Markus: Good morning, Player!
- Markus: I just woke up as well...
- Markus: Before you ask, you drank too much yesterday so I carried you into your room...
- Markus: I slept in your guest room for the night. I'm sorry for not asking first...
- Player: No worries, no worries.
- Player: I was going to ask you to stay anyway...
- Player: But you...
- Markus: Why are you looking like this again?
- Markus: Don't worry. I'm not a kid anymore so I was able to control myself...
- Markus: I didn't take advantage of you.
- Player: Uh...I...that...that's not what I meant...
- Markus: Hahaha!
- Markus: It's getting late. I must get changed to attend the Alliance's teleconference.
- Markus: Thank you for your hospitality, Player. I owe you another round of drinks!
- Player: Oh...please rest for a while long. I'll bring your clothes and armor to you.
- Markus: I'm fine! I shouldn't bother you on such a trivial matter.
- Markus: I can do it myself.
- Markus goes back to the guest room
- You noticed that Markus retrieved the map of Luxium from the database.
- Player: (surprised)
- Billy enters the deck
- Billy: Captain, breakfast is ready. You and the commander can get ready...
- Billy: Hmm...where's the commander?
- Player: The commander...
- Player: He has returned to his battlefield...
- Billy: ...
- A while later, in the Arcana Academy Flux Meeting Room.
- Vundo, Will and Markus talk with a White Capes general and Shadowhunter officer, both of whom are communicating via hologram
- Shadowhunter Officer: Since we lost the forward base at the river entrance of Lake Bliss, the Shadows' strength is clearly different from before...
- White Capes General: Yes! We must be extra careful!
- Markus: While we should be careful, now that we no longer have a forward base, Never Isle and Crossport are within the Shadows' attack range!
- Markus: We must realign our troops and take back the forward base!
- White Capes General: But the Shadows' strength is enhanced by the Shadow Reapers...
- White Capes General: We...we can't defeat them!
- Will: We could in the past. We even fought our way up to where the Shadow Barrier was...
- Will: How come we can't even leave our home this time?
- Shadowhunter Officer: Please stay calm, General Will. The Shadows strengthened their attack on the Loong Mountain Defensive Line yesterday...
- Shadowhunter Officer: The Shadowhunters' main troop must first fight off the Shadowhunters at Loong Mountains.
- Shadowhunter Officer: We must set aside the counterattack for now.
- Markus: What?
- Markus: That's not what you said when we signed the Crossport Agreement!
- Markus: The Shadows at Loong Mountains are just diversions...
- Markus: The key is the Shadow Reaper at the Ruins of Azria!
- Shadowhunter Officer: The Shadow Reaper is indeed a threat, but once the Loong Mountain Defensive Line is broken...
- Shadowhunter Officer: And the Shadows at the Ruins of Azria joined in, we'll be attacked from both the east and the west...
- Shadowhunter Officer: At which time we will have no chance of winning at all.
- Will: ...
- Markus: ...
- Will: So, the Shadowhunters want to...
- Shadowhunter Officer: Earlier on, we discussed this with the leader of the Sword of Light...
- Shadowhunter Officer: While the Shadows' threat in Azria is great, Never Isle and Crossport are protected by tall and strong walls...
- Shadowhunter Officer: Having a moat that is easy to defend but hard to attack may increase our battle damage ratio and reduce our loss.
- Markus: A moat? Are you kidding me?
- Markus: Are you sure you'll have the same suggestion if the Shadows were to attack Westhold?
- Shadowhunter Officer: ...
- Shadowhunter Officer: Our arcanists have collected sufficient data...
- Shadowhunter Officer: They're analyzing the Shadow Reapers' weakness in enhancing strength.
- Shadowhunter Officer: It won't take long before they will come up with the type of arcana that targets the weakness. We will have a much better chance if we counterattack then.
- White Capes General: That's why please keep the research into the Shadows' weakness a secret!
- White Capes General: To ensure that our plan can be implemented smoothly, please inform everyone here before taking any significant military action...
- White Capes General: Don't act blindly!
- Markus: (angry)
- Will: (angry)
- A few moments later...
- Markus repeats what happened in the meeting to Jerren
- Markus: That's how the meeting went...
- Jerren: What?! Retreat and defend?
- Jerren: Commander, why didn't we object?
- Markus: I did, but it was useless. The Shadowhunters and the White Capes agreed to this decision beforehand...
- Markus: We didn't have any advantage even if this was put to a vote...
- Jerren: What a bunch of cowards!
- Jerren: Commander, we really should consider quitting...
- Markus: I'll consider it...
- Markus: But before I make a decision, my brothers, especially you, must restrain yourselves!
- Jerren: ...
- Jerren: I understand.
- Markus: Jerren, inform the captains to gather in 15 minutes...
- Markus: We must enhance the patrol at Lake Bliss as well as the dark sentries at the river entrance of Lake Bliss!
- Jerren: Yes, sir!
- Jerren takes off
- Markus: ...
- Will walks over
- Will: Commander, we must restrain ourselves...
- Will: We can't give an excuse for people to say 'Never Isle destroyed the Anti-Shadow Alliance' later on...
- Markus: I understand...
- Markus: And it's because I understand yet we remain helpless, that is why...
- Markus: (angry)
- Will: Sigh...
- Evening, Oathblades training camp...
- That night, Markus celebrates with the captains that handed him their resignation letters
- Markus: Cheers!
- Markus: This is my cherished wine!
- Oathblades Captain A: Thank you, commander!
- Oathblades Captain B: Thank you.
- Markus: I apologize. I've been so busy these days...
- Markus: I can only buy you drinks here!
- Markus poured four full glasses of wine and offered them to the warriors...
- Markus: Even though you'll be leaving the Oathblades tomorrow...
- Markus: I still consider you my brothers!
- Markus: Come visit when you are free. And if you run into any trouble, come ask for help!
- Oathblades Captain C: Commander...
- Oathblades Captain C: If Never Isle is going to recover Azria, we will help as well!
- Markus: Thank you!
- Markus: Okay! Don't forget the oath you pledged, and never stop hunting...
- Markus: I wish you victory in your future!
- Oathblades Captain A: I wish that the Oathblades will win all battles!
- Oathblades Captain B: Commander, take care of yourself!
- As the ex-captains leave, the smile drops from Markus's face
- Markus: ...
- Markus: ...
- Suddenly, Markus's comm crystal rang...
- Barely within earshot, the three ex-captains start to second-guess their decision
- Oathblades Captain B: Leaving the commander in the current situation...
- Oathblades Captain B: Is that a good idea?
- Oathblades Captain C: Sigh...the commander is so good to us...
- Oathblades Captain C: Why don't we...
- Oathblades Captain A: Leaving the Oathblades doesn't mean leaving Never Isle...
- Oathblades Captain A: We are still warriors of Never Isle!
- Oathblades Captain A: If the Alliance chose to retreat, then we'll go and kill the Shadows!
- Markus: What? Miles...
- Oathblades Captain A: Miles?
- Oathblades Captain C: Let's check it out!
- Nemesio's Call: I found Miles outside the Shadow barrier of the Azria base...
- Nemesio's Call: The Shadows...they are torturing him!
- Markus: Hmm...Miles...
- Markus: Stay safe!
- Markus: We'll go over there now!
- Nemesio's Call: Commander, there are a lot of Shadows there, and I felt the Shadow Reaper's enhanced strength...
- Nemesio's Call: You'd better bring more people with you!
- Nemesio's Call: The Shadows are coming. I must go somewhere else. Over!
- Markus: Miles...
- Oathblades Captain A: Commander! What happened to Miles?
- Markus: Miles was caught by the Shadows near the Shadows' stronghold...
- Oathblades Captain B: What?! We must go and save him! Send our battleship!
- Markus: Any large-scale operation by the Oathblades must be discussed with the Alliance...
- Markus: Also, too much commotion out there will put Miles in danger!
- Oathblades Captain A: Then the three of us will go!
- Oathblades Captain A: We've quit the Oathblades so we aren't affected by the Alliance!
- Markus: No! That is the Shadows' stronghold. The three of you will get yourselves killed if you go there by yourselves!
- Oathblades Captain C: Even if you don't approve, we're still going! We don't belong to the Oathblades anymore...
- Markus: You stay right there!
- Markus: Are you disobeying my order now?!
- Oathblades Captain C: Erm... (gulps...)
- The three captains stood straight...
- Markus: ...
- Markus: I'll go!
- Oathblades Captain B: But what about the Alliance?
- Markus: I'll be careful not to expose myself.
- Oathblades Captain C: You said the three of us would get ourselves killed. Won't you get yourself killed as well?
- Oathblades Captain A: We must go with you to save Miles!
- Markus: You lot...
- Oathblades Captain C: We must go with you to save Miles!
- Markus: Okay! You can come...
- Markus: Bring a high-speed battleship to this location and start searching for someone...
- Markus: Then stay there and wait for me!
- Oathblades Captain C: Search for who?
- Markus: An old friend. Don't worry, he'll come to you when he sees the Oathblades emblem.
- Markus: I must find more help...
- At the Never Isle port, moments later...
- Player leads a group of ex-Oathblades to the port on a mission to save Miles from the Shadow but run into Markus and Bidziil
- Player: Commander?
- Markus: Where are you going?
- Oathblades Warrior: Commander, it's Miles! He's in danger! We must save him!
- Markus: Save him? He's outside the Shadow's Azria base. A Shadow Reaper could be lurking nearby!
- Player: But Commander!
- Oathblades Warrior: Commander, we are forever indebted to you...
- Oathblades Warrior: But we can't lose Miles again! Please let us go...
- Oathblades Warrior: Or, forgive us for drawing our weapons!
- Markus: But you could die if you go there!
- Oathblades Warrior: Even if we die, we...
- Markus: I'm coming with you!
- Bidziil: I'm coming, too.
- Player: But Commander, we're supposed to report the Oathblades' actions to the Alliance...
- Markus: There are no Oathblades here!
- Markus: Only Miles's brothers!
- Player: !!
- Markus: Jerren will take my place. He'll handle whatever the Alliance needs.
- Bidziil: I got all those Wanderlight Shards from the Shadowhunters.
- Bidziil: Those will come in handy.
- Player: That's great!
- Player: Let's go!!
- Later that night...
- At the midstream of Elysian River, 4 kilometers west of Shadow Azria base...
- Player: Eddie should be nearby...
- Oathblades Warrior: But... There's no one around...
- Suddenly, you feel a strong Shadow flux...
- Player: There are Shadows nearby!
- Oathblades Warrior: Prepare to fight!
- Markus: Wait! Don't move!
- Player: ?
- Nemesio comes out behind the trees
- Markus: Hey, no long no see!
- Nemesio: Commander...
- Player: Nemesio?
- Nemesio: Please come with me, everyone...
- Later, in Nemesio's hideout...
- Player: Eddie!
- Eddie: I was found by the patrolling Shadows. I'm fine, these are minor injuries..
- Player: Why are you here, Nemesio?
- Markus: After Shadows have occupied the Azria region, Nemesio has been hiding in this area...
- Nemesio: The Shadows won't notice me in my current state...
- Nemesio: I didn't think an outsider like me could still be of any use.
- Markus: What nonsense! You will always be a part of Oathblades!
- Player: No wonder we have been receiving first-hand information about the Shadows...
- Markus: It's also Nemesio who told me about Miles...
- Markus: What's the situation now, Nemesio?
- Nemesio: Miles is just 3 kilometers toward the east...
- Nemesio: The Shadows have brought him to an open space that is surrounded by the forest...
- Markus: This is obviously a trap!
- Nemesio: Exactly! The Shadows are using Miles as a lure to take down the whole lot of us!
- Eddie: I was wondering why nothing happened after the patrols found me... Something was fishy indeed.
- Nemesio: Since we know it's an ambush, let's beat them at their own game!
- Markus: Yes! Bidziil, take the warriors and tackle the ambush units in the forest to the north of Miles...
- Markus: Eddie, set fire in the south and force them out!
- Markus: Then, Player, Nemesio, and I will go from the front to rescue Miles!
- Markus: Once the ambush units are cleared, let's gather in the center and rescue Miles!
- Oathblades Warrior: Yes, sir!
- The group finally reach Miles and begin to fight the Shadow to free him
- After they defeat all of the Shadow, Miles remains trapped inside a Shadow flux array
- Eddie: Miles!
- Player: Miles, are you okay?
- Miles: Hmm...
- Miles: H-Hurry...
- Miles: Run now!
- Markus: !!!
- Markus: Watch out, everyone! Prepare for war!
- A portal opens behind Miles and a giant demon exits
- Player: Hmm... This power...
- Player: It's Shadow Reaper!!!
- More portals open behind the warriors and Shadow minions start appearing
- Oathblades Warrior: Hmm... We've been ambushed!
- Shadow Reaper: Welcome to my arena of death!
- Shadow Reaper: Servants! Receive the blessing of the Shadowlord!
- The minions begin to pulse with power
- Player: What's this?
- Eddie: The Shadows have been enhanced! This Shadow Reaper has the power of enhancement!
- Player: Look at Miles! Why is he...
- Miles also begins to pulse the same way as the minions
- Miles: Roaarrr! Traitors!
- Markus: Damn!
- Markus: Eddie! Back off!
- Markus intercepts and blocks Mile's attack
- Miles: ROAR...
- Miles is growling like a wolf and staring at everyone furiously...
- Eddie: Miles!
- Player: No...
- Miles: Ahhhhh!!
- Shadow Flux begins to pour out of Miles
- Eddie: This power... It's Shadow...
- Eddie: Miles... He's been...
- Markus: Calm down! Give me the Wanderlight Shard!
- Markus: Bidziil, guard the perimeter with the warriors!
- Markus: The rest of us, let's defeat the Shadow Reaper!
- Markus: Once Shadow Reaper is dead, those Shadow mobs are powerless!
- Shadow Reaper: Okay! As expected of the Commander of Oathblades to remain calm even in crisis.
- Shadow Reaper: I really want to fight with you...
- Shadow Reaper: But, I can't leave my brother alone, can I?
- Player: Brother?
- Shadow Reaper: Come, Miles! I've already blessed you with power. It's time for revenge!
- Miles: Why... Why did you betray me?!
- Eddie: Miles! Wake up!
- Miles: Go to hell!
- Player and the rest can barely defend against Miles' Shadow-enhanced attacks
- Player: He's... so strong...
- Eddie: Hmm...
- Shadow Reaper: What an exciting performance!
- Shadow Reaper: Go, Miles! Take your revenge!
- Markus: Eddie, Player, back off!
- Miles: Traitors!
- Markus: Eddie and Player, find a chance to leave!
- Player: Commander!
- Markus draws Miles' attention
- Markus: You're right!
- Markus: I'm now allies with the people who killed our comrades...
- Markus: I betrayed Grey and our brothers who died in vain...
- Markus: I'm the traitor!
- Miles: Traitors...
- Miles: All enemies... shall die!
- Markus: I let the warriors of Oathblades down...
- Markus: I also let you down...
- Markus: If my blood can make you feel better...
- Markus: Come at me! Take my life!
- Miles: Die!
- Miles takes a blade and is about to slit Markus's neck...
- Player: Miles, stop!
- Eddie: Miles! Please, stop!!!
- Shadow Reaper: Do it! Let his head roll!
- Markus: ...
- Miles whispers in Markus's ear...
- Miles: (Softly) Hey geezer...
- Miles: (Softly) I've never blamed you...
- Miles: Arghhhhhh!
- Miles turns around and attacks the Shadow Reaper
- Markus: Eddie, Player, it's your chance!
- Eddie: !!
- Eddie fires a missile while Player calls down lightning on the monster
- Shadow Reaper: Whoa!
- Shadow Reaper: H-How... is this possible? You were clearly corrupted!
- Miles: You killed Ambriel and Oswald!
- Miles: You... have always been my target!
- Shadow Reaper: Fool!
- Shadow Reaper: FOOL!!!
- Shadow Reaper: How dare you betray Shadowlord and set me up?!
- Shadow Reaper: You're too full of yourself!
- Miles: For the Oathblades warriors and the future of Gyee!
- Miles: For my dear Grey and my brothers!
- Miles: You shall pay!
- Miles and the Shadow Reaper battle
- Shadow Reaper: Ahhhhh!!!
- Shadow Reaper: You're asking for death! I shall show you scums the true blessing of Shadowlord!
- Shadow Reaper: I... I'm the Shadow Reaper!
- Miles: Watch out, everyone!!!
- The Shadow Reaper begins to gather Shadow Flux for a large attack but Miles lunges at the growing ball of energy
- The ball of energy explodes just as the Shadow Reaper throws up a barrier to protect itself
- Player: Dammit...
- When the smoke clears, Miles is knocked out but still pulses with Shadow energy
- Player: Is everyone okay?
- Nemesio: I'm fine...
- Eddie: Miles... Miles!
- Miles: Hmm...
- Miles: Hmm...
- Player: No!
- Nemesio: When the Shadow Reaper was about to release energy, Miles dashed forward...
- Nemesio: And took most of the impact...
- Markus: No...
- Markus: Miles... Kiddo... Stay with us!
- Shadow Reaper: Haha! Timely help from my brother!
- Player: Darn! It's the Shadow barrier that can block all weapons!
- Player: It's another ability of the Shadow Reaper!
- Shadow Reaper: Count yourselves lucky today!
- Shadow Reaper: The next time, I'll make sure you die a horrible death!
- Markus: Bastard!
- Miles: ARGHHHH!!!
- Miles gets up
- Miles: Come back!!!
- Shadow Reaper: You... can still get up?
- Miles: The wolves of Oathblades will never falter...
- Miles: Even if you kill my brothers...
- Miles: Or destroy my physical body!
- Miles: Even if I fall into the void...
- Miles: I will smear the gates of void with your blood!
- A pure white aura begins to radiate out of Miles
- Miles: Ahhhhh!!!
- Player: This feeling...
- Player: It's the power Billy had when he was fighting the Shadow Reaper!
- Eddie: It's the power Miles had at Crossport! But it's many times stronger!
- Miles attacks the Shadow Reaper's barrier
- Shadow Reaper: Hmph! Brute force won't hurt the Shadow barrier!
- Miles continues his assault and the barrier falls
- Shadow Reaper: What?!
- Miles: Face your death!
- Everyone attacks the Shadow Reaper
- Miles: Argh!!!
- Shadow Reaper: Hmm... What is this... power...
- Player: Miles can hurt the Shadow Reaper! Let's cover his back!
- Using the power of Light Flux, Miles defeats the Shadow Reaper
- Player: We... won!
- Eddie: Ha... ha!
- Shadow Reaper: I... lost...
- Miles: Go to hell, bastard!
- Shadow Reaper: But the power of Shadow... It has fully...
- Shadow Reaper: You will also...
- Shadow Reaper: ...
- Miles: Hmm...
- The Shadow Flux inside Miles begins to take over
- Markus: Bring me the Wanderlight Shard at once!
- Nemesio hands Markus the shard and Markus activates it on Miles
- Miles: Huff, puff...
- Eddie: Miles!
- Miles: It's fine... It'll be wasteful to use the Wanderlight Shard...
- Miles: When I came up with this plan...
- Miles: Going back alive wasn't part of it...
- Miles: Birdie... You look much cooler with a gun than a bow...
- Miles: I'm really happy... to see you soaring in the sky!
- Miles: Fly well! Don't look back, don't stop... Don't give up...
- Eddie: Miles, stop talking and conserve your energy!
- Markus: The Wanderlight Shard is working!
- Markus: Kiddo... You can make it!
- Miles: Geezer...
- Miles: Look... Didn't I say... we can fight the Shadow Reaper?
- Markus: Yes! You were right! You have always been!
- Miles: Commander... We are the Oathblades...
- Markus: The Oathblades will never work with our enemies...
- Markus: All our enemies... are doomed.
- Miles: (smiles)
- Miles: Grey... My brothers...
- Miles: Finally...
- Miles: ...
- Eddie: Miles...
- Nemesio: He seems to be... getting better...
- Nemesio: The sudden burst of mysterious power is healing his body...
- Nemesio: Wait... Back off, everyone!
- Suddenly, even more Shadow Flux pours out of Miles
- Miles: Arrghh!!!
- Miles: Revenge...
- Miles: Revenge!
- Miles: Revenge!!!
- Player: It's the Shadow corruption!
- Miles: Geezer... Player...
- Miles: I'm losing control of this power!
- Miles: Hurry...
- Miles: Kill me now!
- Markus: Quick, bring me the Wanderlight Shard!
- Nemesio: No! Now that Miles is corrupted, his Shadow Flux is too powerful!
- Nemesio: The Wanderlight... is now useless!
- Miles: Kill me!
- Miles: Arghhhhhh!
- Eddie: No...
- Markus: ...
- Miles: Commander... I have no more regrets...
- Miles: Hurry...
- Markus: No! I can't make another mistake!
- Markus: I will reverse this! I promise!
- Markus: Kiddo, let's go home!
- Markus: Player, inform Bidziil and Billy to land the airship here. We will retreat right away!
- Miles: ...
- Miles: Hmm...Arghhh!!!
- Miles: ...
- Miles pushes Markus away...
- Markus: Kiddo?
- Miles: Urghh...
- Miles: I can't... hurt you...
- Miles takes a knife and places it on his neck...
- Player: Miles!
- Miles: Please take care of Eddie...
- Eddie: No!
- Eddie grabs Miles and takes off into the sky
- Player: It's Eddie! Eddie took Miles and flew northward!
- Nemesio: ...
- Nemesio: Go after them!
- Nemesio: Perhaps... Perhaps...
- Eddie took Miles to a quiet place...
- He tried everything he could and finally, Miles woke up...
- Soon, the others found Miles as well...
- Nemesio thought of a way that could save Miles...
- At a temporary camp several miles west of the Azria Shadow Fortress
- Miles: Ahhh!! Ahhhhh!!
- Nemesio: Hang in there, Miles! Don't you dare give up on me!
- Markus: Uh...
- Player watches Markus pace nervously as Nemesio treats Miles's Shadow corruption
- The two can hear the screams outside of Nemesio's camp
- Markus: ...
- Player: ...
- Player: Commander...
- Markus: ...
- Miles: Ahhhhh!!
- Markus: ...
- Markus' hands trembled slightly...
- He clenches his fists, trying to keep it together...
- Markus: Miles...
- But it doesn't seem to have much of an effect...
- Player: ...
- Choice 2.1 - (You take Markus's hand...)
- Player: Markus...
- Your fingers wrap around his fist, trying to soothe the trembling.
- Markus: Uhh!
- Player: Miles is gonna make it!
- Markus: ...
- Markus: He has to!
- Markus: Even the Shadow Reaper was no match for him!
- Markus: This Shadow Flux is nothing compared to that!
- Choice 2.2 - (Praying for a miracle, or for any sign that Miles would be okay.)
- Markus: Miles... you've gotta pull through!
- Scene continues after choices
- Miles: Huff... huff...
- Player: It sounds like Miles is doing better...
- Markus: Yeah, it feels like the Shadow Flux is settling down a bit!
- Player: Let's go check on him!
- Markus: Right!
- Player and Markus enter the camp
- Markus: How's Miles, Nemesio?
- Nemesio wiped the sweat from his forehead...
- Nemesio: Miles is unconscious, but he's stable for now.
- Nemesio: We knew Miles could handle it!
- Nemesio: He fought off the Shadow corruption inside him.
- Nemesio: A strange new power has emerged, countering the encroaching Shadow.
- Nemesio: The situation is now under control.
- Nemesio: However, the Shadow Flux has now enveloped his entire body...
- Nemesio: Miles has become like me.
- Markus: But the good news is, he will survive...
- Markus: Miles...
- Player: ...
- Player: Nemesio, let's cover for Eddie and the Oathblades!
- Player: They've been on duty a long time and must be getting tired!
- Nemesio: Right, let's go!
- Player and Nemesio leave
- Markus: Child, you beat the Shadow and Death...
- Markus: Hooray!
- Half an hour later...
- Miles: Hmm...
- Markus: Child, you're awake.
- Miles: Commander...
- Miles tries to stand up straight, but he's too weak and almost falls.
- Markus: Be careful!
- Markus: (Supporting Miles...)
- Miles: Ugh, I didn't expect that I would need help just to get on my feet...
- Markus: Child... you...
- Markus: Stop pushing yourself
- Miles: Commander...are you...
- Miles: Crying?
- Markus: Bullshit!
- Markus: I didn't even cry when I was born.
- Miles: !!
- Miles: Come on, I was just corrupted by Shadow, that's all.
- Miles: It's no big deal.
- Miles: You're worrying too much...
- Markus: ...
- Markus: I'm sorry...
- Miles: Ugh!
- Markus: It's my fault... I was too selfish...
- Markus: If only I had stood by you that day in Crossport...
- Markus: I wish I could have helped you more...
- Markus: I failed in my duty as a brother...
- Miles: Commander... what are you...
- Markus: Shut up! Let me finish!!
- Miles: Ugh... (swallows hard...)
- Markus: ...
- Markus: Miles, it's been almost twenty-four years...
- Markus: I still remember when I first found you, you were only seven, living with wolves...
- Markus: You were fierce, standing in front of an injured wolf, baring your teeth at the hunters...
- Markus: As you grew older and stronger, you started getting into fights and causing trouble.
- Markus: You, Eddie, and Izumi were the most infamous little bullies of Azria!
- Markus: You were feisty back then, and never backed down, even from fights against adults...
- Markus: I knew you would become a warrior someday.
- Markus: When Azria fell, you followed me and became one of the first Oathblades Warriors.
- Markus: We fought side by side, killed the White Capes, saved our people, and defeated Shadow...
- Markus: You were a fearless fighter on the battlefield, always there for your brothers, through thick and thin.
- Markus: I saw a younger version of myself in you...
- Markus: After all these years, the Oathblades are stronger, and I'm no longer young...
- Markus: I want you to become the next commander, to lead Oathblades...
- Miles: Um!
- Markus: That's why I pushed you to study and learn tactics these past two years...
- Markus: Teaching you to be tolerant and strategic...
- Markus: Hoping you'll see the bigger picture and make sacrifices for long-term goals...
- Miles: Um... you never told me...
- Markus: That's why I feel bad about it, I never got around to telling you...
- Markus: I worry that one day, if I'm gone, the Oathblades will be leaderless...
- Markus: I see the potential for leadership in you, someone who could guide our people towards a brighter future.
- Markus: But I never asked for your thoughts...
- Markus: Or your willingness...
- Markus: I was so busy being 'Commander' that I forgot my important brother: you...
- Miles: ...
- Markus: After the Wolf Squad's sacrifice, I asked you to be patient, to retreat, and to consider the bigger picture...
- Markus: Even after the White Capes turned on us and Grey was lost...
- Markus: I still asked you to set aside your hatred and compromise with the White Capes...
- Markus: I knew you loved your brothers deeply, but how could you just back down like that?
- Markus: Sigh...
- Markus: Miles...
- Markus: I'm deeply sorry for Wolf Squad...
- Markus: Tonight, I'm going to bring some wine to their graves and have one last drink with our brothers.
- Markus: ...Don't be too sad, Grey would be heartbroken to see us acting like this from up above...
- Markus: We will avenge Grey!
- Markus: Sigh...
- Markus: If only I could have told you these things earlier...
- Miles: ...
- Miles hugged Markus tightly...
- Miles: Geezer...
- Miles: It's not too late now!
- Markus: (surprised)
- Markus: I don't want to ask you to forgive me...
- Markus: I just hope you'll be happy and live a good life...
- Miles: So forgetful, huh?
- Miles: I told you in front of the Shadow Reaper, I don't blame you.
- Markus: (surprised)
- Miles: The Westhold agreement is signed, and that means peace with the White Capes...
- Miles: The brothers complain to me, saying you've changed.
- Miles: That you have forgotten our hatred, and you've turned into some sneaky, ruthless person or whatever.
- Miles: I know in my heart, you're still the same old man I knew.
- Miles: You will never forget your brothers!
- Markus: (surprised)
- Miles: Why didn't you tell me earlier that you wanted me to become the Commander?
- Miles: If you'd told me earlier, I wouldn't have been so resistant to reading books and studying tactics...
- Miles: If I had learned earlier...
- Miles: I might have been able to help you more after Shadow forces occupied Azria...
- Markus: Um!
- Miles: Don't get me wrong. I ain't a brute who only knows how to fight...
- Miles: I know you have a lot on your plate every day!
- Miles: We have a fleet, but it's small and we need to use it carefully.
- Miles: The Oathblades appear strong, but many are new recruits...
- Miles: And our control over Red Harbor isn't absolute; we need to keep enough troops there to keep things under control.
- Markus: Miles, you...
- Miles: Otherwise, how could I agree to a truce with the White Capes?
- Miles: After escaping Crossport, I hid outside the shadow barrier, looking for a chance to get revenge...
- Miles: Maybe those books you made me read actually had an effect...
- Miles: During this time, I've come to understand many things.
- Miles: You just said...
- Miles: I love my brothers, how could I make compromises so easily...
- Miles: But aren't you the same, commander?
- Miles: In Azria, every time a brother was lost, you would get drunk...
- Miles: You remember everyone's name in the Oathblades.
- Miles: You, Commander, were the one who hung out with Grey the most after me.
- Miles: In order to win...
- Miles: You're the one who's made the most compromises and sacrifices!
- Miles: You've been pushing yourself way too hard!
- Markus: ...
- Markus: It's... okay... I can handle it...
- Miles: ...
- Miles: Be sure to talk to Jerren and the others more when problems come up; don't shoulder it alone...
- Miles: Does your old wound still hurt?
- Markus: How did you know...
- Miles: I know that the right side of your chest hurts every time things get hectic.
- Miles: Others might not have noticed it, but come on.
- Markus: ...
- Markus: It's just a minor injury... no big deal.
- Miles: Make some time for those hot compresses, okay?
- Markus: ...
- Markus: Child... sob...
- Markus's nose twitched, and his eyes welled up...
- Miles: Why is the old man so sentimental today?
- Markus: (smiles)
- Markus hugged Miles...
- Markus: Child... thank you...
- A few moments later...
- The two of them faced the direction of Azria...
- Markus: Shadow Fortress...
- Miles: Those Shadows don't have much time left!
- Markus: We may have taken down that powerful Shadow Reaper...
- Markus: But even with the mysterious strength you used to tear open the shadow barrier... the barrier only stayed open for a little over ten minutes before it repaired itself...
- Markus: Our army couldn't pass through in such a short amount of time...
- Miles: If I can tear open the shadow barrier, then others can too.
- Miles: If we can find them, Never Isle won't have to rely on the White Capes anymore!
- Markus: Yeah!
- Miles: There are lots of enemies inside the shadow barrier, and the third Shadow Reaper...
- Miles: I hope the factories in Red Harbor have produced weapons that can counter him.
- Markus: The high-speed assault ship prototype is complete, and we're upgrading our light warships.
- Miles: Awesome!
- Miles: Commander, get back to Never Isle ASAP! The Oathblades need you.
- Miles: And our brothers must be anxious too...
- Markus: What about you...
- Miles: The Shadow has half-corrupted me. I can't return.
- Miles: I'll hide here and keep an eye on the Shadow with Nemesio.
- Miles: I'll meet up with you guys when you get here.
- Markus: Miles...
- Miles: I'll be fine! Don't worry!
- Markus: Alright, you keep watching the Shadows. We'll be back in a bit.
- Markus: And be careful, okay? If anything goes wrong...
- Miles: Pull back, safety first...
- Miles: Yeah yeah, I've heard it a million times!
- Markus: You little scamp...
- Markus starts to leave but Miles has one last thing to say
- Miles: Old man!
- Markus: Yes?
- Miles: Azria may be in ruins, but it's still our land.
- Miles: The commander will lead us to victory and reclaim Azria!
- Miles: Kill them all!
- Markus: Fight!!!
- Continue to Trifle - Horn of Counterattack
Horn of Counterattack
Even in ruins, Azria is part of the Gyees' territory! From the beginning to the end, this war was the Gyees' own war! False illusions have been shattered by reality, and Never Isle can only rely on itself!
- On the eighty-seventh day of the shadow forces' occupation of Azria
- Miles eliminated a strengthened Shadow Reaper...
- Though half-corrupted by the Shadow, Miles remained near the Azria Fortress's perimeter, monitoring and reporting on its activities.
- Meanwhile, the Alliance was unaware of what happened...
- Roderick of the Shadowhunters declared triumphantly, 'We've eliminated another Shadow Reaper'...
- And prepared a counterattack on Azria Fortress...
- But for Never Isle, these events had already become irrelevant...
- On the eighty-eighth day of the Shadow's occupation of Azria, at the Oathblades training ground...
- Markus addresses all of the Oathblades captains
- Markus: You all know what happened yesterday!
- Oathblades Captain: Miles is great!
- Oathblades Captain: Unfortunately, Miles has also been corrupted by the Shadow, this...
- Markus: Miles didn't just kill a Shadow Reaper!
- Markus: He also overpowered its corruption with his unyielding will!
- Markus: Remember, no matter where Miles is or what he has become...
- Markus: He is our brother, an Oathblade!
- Oathblades Captain: Got it!
- Markus: The Shadow Reaper's defeat shows that they can be beaten!
- Markus: They fear swords and death like other Shadows.
- Markus: Today, we will sound the horn and counterattack! Prepare to fight back!
- Markus: We Oathblades will shatter the shadow barrier and safeguard Lake Bliss!
- Markus: I will not allow a single enemy bomb to fall on Never Isle! Do you hear me?
- Oathblades Captain: Yes, sir!
- Markus: Certainly, though our counterattack...
- Markus: Keep a low profile, don't attract any unnecessary attention...
- Markus: Especially avoid conflicts with the White Capes and Shadowhunters!
- Markus: As I said, our day of reckoning with the White Capes has not yet come!
- Markus: Alright, off you go. Godspeed!
- Oathblades Captain: Yes, sir!
- The captains disperse
- Three ex-Oathblades captains that helped to save Miles the day before come up to Markus
- Oathblades Captain A: Commander, what about our mission?
- Markus: Yes?
- Oathblades Captain B: Well... we want to rejoin the Oathblades...
- Oathblades Captain C: Yes!
- Markus: Haha...
- Markus: Don't worry, I have big plans for you.
- Markus: You performed well in yesterday's battle, better than I ever expected...
- Markus: So, come with me and bring your team! Starting today, you will fight under my command!
- Oathblades Captain B: Yes, sir!
- Oathblades Captain A: Thank you, Commander!
- Markus: One more thing, you never left the Oathblades. Now, dismissed!
- Moments later, in front of the Order of Equality headquarters...
- Markus: Have you assigned all the tasks, Will?
- Will: Hmm...
- Will: The Order of Equality's intel team is going all out to track down Osiris...
- Will: Since the Shadow forces took over Azria, numerous bands of guerrilla troops have formed in the area to resist the Shadow...
- Will: The Order of Equality is now trying to recruit them.
- Markus: The Shadow Reaper's death has significantly reduced their main force's strength.
- Markus: The shadow barrier is all that stands between us and the Azria Fortress.
- Markus: The Shadow is certainly searching for Osiris too, we need to hurry up!
- Will: Sure! The Order of Equality will try to mediate with the Alliance...
- Markus: General Will, thank you so much for mediating with the Alliance...
- Will: Diplomacy is our strength, fighting is yours...
- Will: As long as we win, it's not a problem at all...
- Will: If there's news of Osiris, I'll notify you immediately!
- A week later...
- News came from the Alliance...
- General Diesel of the White Capes was assassinated...
- The hawks are now in charge of the White Capes...
- Meanwhile, Miles noticed the Shadows amassing a large force...
- But their target wasn't Never Isle or the Alliance...
- The Order of Equality discovered that the Shadow's target was one of the bands of guerrillas...
- There could only be one reason for the Shadows to go to such lengths...
- On the ninety-second day of the Shadow's occupation of Azria...
- 400 kilometers west of Elysiann, about ten kilometers east of the Azria Shadow Fortress...
- Markus and his small group of elite troops along with Miles and Player stealthily traverse the nighttime forests
- Markus: Where are the Shadow forces now?
- Scout Arcana Communication: Three kilometers away from us...
- Markus: Have you found Osiris?
- Scout Arcana Communication: Not yet...
- Markus: Keep tracking the Shadows, and be careful not to be seen!
- Oathblades Captain: Commander, let's go! Take down those Shadows!
- Player: We gotta be careful, finding Osiris won't be easy.
- Markus: Yes! The key to this mission is finding Osiris, not the Shadow...
- Oathblades Captain: But we don't know where Osiris is...
- Oathblades Captain: If Osiris gets killed by the Shadows...
- Miles: Stop it! Just listen to the commander.
- Markus: (smiles)
- Player: (smiles)
- Several minutes later...
- Markus: Miles, Diesel is dead...
- Miles: ...
- Miles: Really?
- Miles: Seems like we weren't the only ones who wanted him dead.
- Markus: You seem a little down. Everything okay?
- Miles: He was just a clown. No need to get excited over it...
- Miles: Wasn't it Diesel keeping the White Capes in line?
- Miles: With him gone, won't the Alliance be in trouble...
- Markus: Yeah, the White Capes' hawks have taken over...
- Markus: They are very unfriendly towards us, and I don't see us working together smoothly anytime soon.
- Markus: No big deal, we can just do our own thing and not stress about it.
- At that moment, the scout unit's message came through...
- Markus: This is Markus!
- Scout Arcana Communication: Commander, the Shadow forces are changing direction...
- Scout Arcana Communication: They're heading south!
- Markus: South?
- Miles: Away from our direction...
- Scout Arcana Communication: Also, the Arcana sensing array detected some humans further south, not us, and not the Alliance...
- Player: Human forces?
- Player: Damn! Human forces don't have Shadow Flux, so we can't detect their positions.
- Markus: We were wrong about their position; Osiris is heading straight into a Shadow's trap!
- Markus: Oathblades, assemble!
- A few moments later...
- Osiris runs into three Shadow Swordsmen
- Shadow Swordsman: Where are you going?
- Osiris: Um...I can sense the Shadow Flux...
- Osiris: But the humans... were careless...
- Osiris: Aren't you human...
- Osiris: Why side with the Shadows?
- Shadow Swordsman: We are the devoted followers of the Shadowlord!
- Osiris: Alright...
- Osiris: Roar!
- Osiris quickly strikes down the swordsmen
- Osiris: What a pity...
- Osiris: As a human, why would you choose the path of darkness?
- Suddenly, more than a dozen Shadow demons teleport and surround Osiris
- Shadow Demon: Roar!!
- Osiris: The Shadows!
- Shadow Demon: Go to hell!
- Osiris: (angry)
- Osiris: Gather the light...
- Flux particles begin to converge on Osiris's broken sword, transforming it into the Sword of Brilliance
- Shadow Demon: You are alone, and the Holy Light's protection is limited!
- Osiris: Burn away the evil!
- ???: You are not fighting alone!
- Osiris: What's this?
- Miles leaps over the Shadow demons and lands besides Osiris
- He brutally slashes three of the demons
- Osiris: You are...
- Bolts of lightning strike down amongst the Shadow demons
- Markus: Oathblades, charge!
- Shadow Demon: What?
- After the battle...
- Miles: I'm glad we made it...
- Miles: Hey! Big guy, are you alright?
- Osiris: You are... Oathblades?
- Miles: Yes, we are.
- Miles: You're fighting the Shadows too, right? Why not team up with us...
- Osiris: Uh...
- Osiris throws a flash grenade on the ground and escapes in the confusion
- Miles: Eh? Where's the guy?
- Miles: Brothers, spread out and find him!
- Markus: (Signals everyone to stay still...)
- Player: Osiris, the Oathblades mean you no harm!
- Markus: Brother, I know we... did terrible things to you...
- Markus: I don't expect your forgiveness...
- Markus: But only the strength of the Holy Light can break the Shadow Reaper's barrier...
- Markus: So, please...
- Markus: Help us, help other Gyees out!
- Player: Osiris...
- Markus: Brother, I know you've been secretly fighting the Shadows, and aiding us.
- Markus: The true holy light shines within you.
- Markus: Eradicating the Shadows was originally your mission, right?
- Markus: Let's join forces with other Gyee brothers to get rid of the Shadow in Azria and take back our land!
- ...
- ...
- Miles: You...
- Markus: Miles! Don't do anything rash!
- Markus: We can't make brothers go to war against their will...
- Markus: There must be another way to break the shadow barrier!
- Markus: Osiris, the Shadow's got its eye on you!
- Markus: Head back to Never Isle, rejoin your people, we've got your back.
- Just then, the arcana crystal on Markus began to ring...
- Markus: It's Will...
- Markus: This is Markus, what's up?
- Will on Communicator: A small Shadow Reaper barrier suddenly appeared, they seemed to be hiding something...
- Will on Communicator: The shadow barrier is moving towards you!
- Will on Communicator: The barrier's blocking all signals from the inside - our ship's sensors can't pick up anything inside it!
- Miles: What're the Shadows cooking up?
- Oathblades Captain: By the time they get here, we'll be long gone! Shadows are so dumb!
- Player: ...
- Markus: No... something feels off... The Shadows can't be doing this for no reason...
- Oathblades Arcanist: Ahhh!!!
- Miles: What's up?
- Will on Communicator: The sensor array detected a surge of Shadow energy from the west...
- Will on Communicator: It's a Shadow Flux cannon! Find cover quickly!!
- Oathblades Arcanist: No... it's too late!
- Markus: (surprised)
- The cannon fires on their location
- At the last second, Osiris creates a light barrier that protects the group
- Osiris: You...
- Osiris: Are you all right?
- Player: !!
- Miles: You...
- Markus: (surprised)
- Markus: You're a lifesaver, bro!
- Will on Communicator: Markus! Markus! Respond!
- Markus: Shh, it's all good, Osiris has got us covered...
- The cannon continues to fire but Osiris's barrier deflects the shots
- Markus: Looks like the Shadows knew we were coming; they want to kill us all...
- Player: We can't pull back our main force; the Shadows' cannon reloads too quickly...
- Player: Our airship touched down at a safe distance away and is currently on standby...
- Markus: We've only got three light airships, it's too dangerous to bring them here!
- Miles: Given their rate of fire, if we run fast enough, we should be able to escape the bomb zone before the Shadow cannon hits!
- Markus: Alright, Miles and I, along with Player, will destroy the Shadow Flux cannon...
- Markus: Osiris, please cover our brother...
- Osiris: Understood, consider it done!
- Markus: Player, Miles, let's go...
- Boom!
- Markus: Run!
- Miles: ...
- Player: Huff... huff...
- Markus, Miles and Player get to the Shadow barrier surrounding the cannon
- Markus: Be careful, the shadow barrier is different from before!
- Miles: No matter! Leave it to me!
- Miles: Rrraghhhhhhhhhhh!
- Miles rips open a hole in the barrier
- Markus: Hmph! Little tricks...
- Player: Wait, this isn't right, a powerful Shadow Flux is gathering!
- Player: The shadow barrier is regenerating, stay put!
- Markus: Uh...
- The barrier once again stands
- Miles: Ugh, they're quite tricky!
- ???: Looks like the little tricks do have some use...
- The glowing tendrils of a Shadow Reaper show through the purple haze of the barrier
- Player: Shadow Reaper...
- Miles: You came here to meet your maker, huh?
- Miles slices the barrier but nothing happens
- Player: Ugh... no effect?!
- Miles: What?
- Miles: Why?
- Markus: ...
- Shadow Reaper: You think you can just waltz through that kind of light flux? I won't make the same mistake twice!
- Player: What...
- Shadow Reaper: Commander Markus, I've heard a lot about you...
- Shadow Reaper: At last you've arrived! I've been looking forward to this moment.
- Player: No, everyone run!
- The three run away just in time to escape a blast from the Shadow cannon
- Player: Huff puff...
- Player: We've been tricked...
- Boom!
- Miles: Here it comes again!
- Shadow Reaper: Watching you puny creatures scurry around is quite entertaining!
- Player: No... if this continues, we'll become exhausted first...
- Markus: ...
- Markus: Let's run in three directions, that way, the brothers and Osiris can fall back separately.
- Markus: One of us has to make it out of here alive!
- Player: But the flux cannon will definitely target you!
- Markus: If so, you guys will make it.
- Player: What?
- Miles: Screw it, I'm gonna fight him!
- Miles furiously strikes the Shadow barrier
- Shadow Reaper: ...Your death brings me joy too, Miles!
- Player: Miles, watch out!
- Player tries to pull Miles away
- Markus: No!
- Markus jumps in to protect you and Miles.
- Player: (surprised)
- Shadow Reaper: (Smile... )
- The Shadow cannon fires
- In the nick of time, Chi Guo appears and strikes his staff into the ground, creating a shield that protects everyone
- Chi Guo: Huff... Thank goodness you guys were close...
- Markus: You're...
- Player: Chi Guo!
- Chi Guo: I am Chi Guo, a traveling Demon Slayer!
- Shadow Reaper: What?
- Chi Guo: Shadow spawn, prepare yourself!!
- Miles: Wait, the shadow barrier...
- The Shadow barrier falls after one strike from Chi Guo's staff
- Shadow Reaper: !!
- Player: !!
- Markus: !!
- Miles: !!
- Miles: Jerk!!
- Shadow Reaper: (Scoffs)
- The Shadow Reaper opens a portal and escapes, leaving the Shadowcultists and cannon behind
- Shadowcultist: Ugh... Shadow Reaper...
- Shadowcultist: We haven't...
- Miles: (smiles)
- Shadowcultist: (Gulp)
- Later...
- Oathblades Warrior: The Commander and the team are back.
- Oathblades Warrior: Seems like there's a big guy with them...
- Miles: Hey everyone, I'd like you to meet Chi Guo! We fought together against the Shadow Flux cannon...
- Miles: He can break the shadow barrier too.
- Oathblades Warrior: Wow, that's great!
- Chi Guo: A pleasure to meet you!
- After the team regroups, Chi Guo addresses Markus
- Chi Guo: The land around Azria has been ravaged for over two months, the people are suffering!
- Chi Guo: Yet the Shadowhunters and Sword of Light turn a blind eye, doing nothing...
- Chi Guo: We need to destroy the Shadows in Azria as soon as possible.
- Chi Guo: Commander Markus, I'm not strong enough to take on the Shadow Fortress troops alone.
- Chi Guo: Please allow me to help Never Isle to take down the Shadow spawn - it's my duty...
- Chi Guo: Let's eliminate the Shadows together!
- Markus: Of course, brother! You are strong...
- Markus: It's an honor for the Oathblades to have your help.
- Markus talks to his troops
- Markus: We just repelled the Shadow Reaper, their main force is probably on their way to surround us...
- Markus: We must retreat immediately, back to Never Isle!
- Markus: Osiris, come with us!
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: I...
- Player: Osiris?
- Markus: The Shadows are running rampant, and Never Isle is within the range of their cannons...
- Markus: Your fellow comrades need your help!
- Markus: We messed up big time in the past...
- Markus: On behalf of the Oathblades, I apologize...
- Osiris: No! Commander!
- Osiris: It is me who should make things right with the brothers...
- Player: (surprised)
- Osiris: I was once...
- Oathblades Warrior: I know who you used to be, what you did...
- Oathblades Warrior: But today, you saved me, my companions, Miles, and the Commander...
- Oathblades Warrior: So...
- Oathblades Warrior: I think we're even!
- Oathblades Warrior: From now on, let's be brothers!
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Miles: Did you hear that?
- Miles: What's done is done!
- Chi Guo grasps Osiris's shoulder
- Chi Guo: No matter what you've done before, as long as you choose to do good now...
- Chi Guo: You can still be a good person!
- Markus: Brothers...
- Markus: Who you were doesn't matter, what matters is who you will become.
- Markus: You wanna fight alongside your brothers and be a hero, right?
- Osiris: Alright, then...
- Osiris: I swear I'll do what I can to help my brothers and defeat the Shadow.
- The next day, at the Arcana Tower, Shadow Flux simulation test field...
- Osiris: Chi Guo, let's do it again!
- Chi Guo: C'mon!
- Osiris and Chi Guo dispel a test Shadow barrier set up by the academy's arcanists
- Vundo: Start the timer!
- Twenty minutes later...
- The Shadow barrier restores itself
- Chi Guo: Indeed, we can delay the shadow barrier's recovery time using the Osiris Brothers' method.
- Osiris: Mr. Demon Slayer is super strong...
- Osiris: A two-person Anti-shadow array can't match the effect of dozens of high priests.
- Player: ...
- Markus: ...
- Player: Twenty minutes...
- Markus: According to the latest report by Miles and Nemesio...
- Markus: Shadow knows we have Osiris, so they've activated a lot of regular portal arrays...
- Markus: Shadow forces are streaming into Azria Fortress, and preparing for a full-scale attack...
- Markus: Though most are minor threats, they have strength in numbers...
- Markus: We must mobilize all of Never Isle's forces, including the Oathblades and the Order of Equality, to have any hope of success...
- Player: In actual battle, we may have less than twenty minutes to break through the shadow barrier...
- Player: I'm afraid...
- Chi Guo: Commander, Player, Osiris has thought of a solution!
- Markus: Oh? Tell us!
- Osiris: We need to recreate the holy light priests' array!
- Player: But isn't that something that requires the help of Holy Light Priests?
- Player: Now that the hawks are in power, they probably won't help us...
- Vundo: We don't need the White Capes!
- Vundo: We have Mr. Osiris, Mr. Demon Slayer, and the professors from the Academy!
- Player: So you mean...
- Markus: But learning a new profession won't be a breeze, and we don't have much time...
- Vundo: The professors and I will do our best to learn Light Arcana...
- Vundo: I'll study it all night if necessary!
- Markus: No, it's too exhausting!
- Vundo: How many good nights of sleep have you had lately, Commander?
- Vundo: You Oathblades are fighting hard to protect Never Isle and Gyee...
- Vundo: The Arcana Academy is part of Never Isle too, and we must give you our all!
- Osiris: Master Chi Guo and I will also help as much as we can!
- Osiris: Our professors are masters of Arcana, so learning basic Light Arcana shouldn't be a problem...
- Osiris: Give us a week, and we'll get that shadow barrier down for an hour!
- Player: An hour!
- Markus: ...
- Markus: Alright! Breaking the shadow barrier is the first step for a full assault...
- Markus: President Vundo, Osiris, Master Chi Guo, thank you!
- One day later, at night...
- The training grounds of Never Isle are bustling with people...
- Order of Equality warriors: Those Oathblades are pretty strong...
- Order of Equality warriors: Sure, but we're not to be underestimated!
- Oathblades Warrior: Haha, then, come on!
- Billy finds Player on the sidelines of the training ground
- Billy: Captain, this week's supplies are ready; we can...
- Billy notices the number of warriors still present
- Billy: It's getting late, and everyone's still training.
- Player: We found Osiris, and with Chi Guo's help...
- Player: The final battle approaches, and we're all in!
- Player: Oh, Commander and General Will...
- Player: Let's go say hello!
- Player and Billy walk towards Markus and Will but notice the frowns on their two faces
- Markus: ...
- Will: ...
- Player: Um... you don't look good... Commander.
- Player turns to Billy
- Player: Billy, you go back first; I'll ask them.
- Billy: Sure!
- Billy leaves
- Player: Commander, General Will, what's wrong?
- Markus: Player...
- Markus: We just got news from Miles...
- Markus: There are a lot more Shadows at Azria Fortress than we estimated!
- Will: ...
- Will: While we're preparing for our full assault, the Shadows are gathering their forces too.
- Will: We need more troops!
- Markus: I've reached out to other forces for help.
- Markus: The BlackFlame City Mercenaries are cutting us a deal, but it's still not gonna be enough.
- Markus: There's no other troops that we can scrounge up in such a short time...
- Markus: Unless we seek help from the Alliance...
- Will: The Alliance... Roderick and the White Capes are only interested in protecting themselves...
- Will: I'm afraid...
- Player: ...
- Player: But still, there are some good people in the Shadowhunters who are tight with us.
- Markus: Yeah, but contacting them secretly might damage our relationship with the Shadowhunters...
- Markus: The Alliance may be useless, but we must maintain at least the facade of relations.
- Player: I've helped a few Shadowhunters, but they don't hold any important positions in Never Isle.
- Player: I should be able to reach some Shadowhunters without arousing suspicion.
- Player: I also have connections with several Shadowhunter altar commanders and captains...
- Player: I can personally convince them to lend us a hand!
- Markus: Player...
- Markus: That's a good idea!
- Markus: Please go talk to them!
- Player: No problem! Everyone in Never Isle is going all out for this final battle, and that includes me...
- Player: I will do my best!
- Will: Hmmm.
- Will: The Order of Equality is also calling on like-minded Luxium allies to join us.
- Will: At the same time, we'll try to gain support in the Alliance meeting...
- Will: If we can get the Alliance's approval, the final battle will be easier.
- Markus: I've got little expectations of them...
- Another day has passed, and in the Arcana Academy conference room....
- Vundo, Will and Markus talk with a White Capes general and Shadowhunter officer, both of whom are communicating via hologram
- Markus and Will presented their plan for a full assault on the Shadow Azria Fortress...
- And sought help from the Alliance...
- As expected...
- Shadowhunter Officer: Hmm... That's a bold plan...
- Shadowhunter Officer: But I think it's better to be cautious...
- Shadowhunter Officer: The abilities of the third Shadow Reaper are still not fully known...
- Shadowhunter Officer: If things go wrong again like last time, we're in trouble.
- Shadowhunter Officer: With the strengthened Shadow Reaper down, we...
- Shadowhunter Officer: The Shadows just aren't as strong as they used to be...
- Shadowhunter Officer: We must take this chance to secure our territories, replenish our energy, and prepare for the final strike.
- White Capes General: The Sword of Light seconded...
- Will: ...
- Markus: Are you guys serious?
- Shadowhunter Officer: No messing around, Roderick's made up his mind.
- Markus: Did we form the Alliance just to wait at home for the Shadows to strike?
- White Capes General: Hey! ... Gyee, watch your tone!
- Markus: My tone?
- Markus: Do you remember who you are?
- Markus: The Shadowhunters are the shield of civilization!
- Markus: The Sword of Light is the messenger of Ka's light!
- Markus: You're the warriors guarding the people, fighting against the Shadows.
- Markus: The shadows at Azria Fortress have blocked communications between cities...
- Markus: Merchants are trapped at home, farmers are afraid to go out and work, and factories can't sell their products.
- Markus: This has been going on for three months!
- Markus: The people you defend are suffering.
- Markus turns to the White Capes general
- Markus: You... I don't know what you are thinking...
- Markus: But I'm the Commander of the Oathblades. I must guard Never Isle, protect my Gyee brothers, and destroy our enemies.
- Markus: I cannot stand by and watch the people of Never Isle suffer at shadow's hand.
- Markus: I will not let the Azria ruins become another Shadowland!
- Markus: I will not let the Shadows continue to desecrate our land, our home!
- White Capes General: Commander Markus, I must warn you!
- White Capes General: This is an act of hostile provocation...
- Markus: If you still have any honor left...
- Markus: Remember your oath and join us!
- Markus: The meeting is over!
- Markus angrily closes the arcana communication and the two holograms disappear
- Markus: ...
- Markus turns to Will
- Markus: Sorry, I snapped; we're done with the Alliance now!
- Markus: Come on, Will, say something!
- Will: ...
- Will: Well, no matter how we try to hide it, the Alliance is gonna figure it out once we march out...
- Will: So sooner or later, we'll have to face them; you just made it quicker!
- Will: Those words will be perfect for rallying our forces...
- Will: It couldn't be more fitting~
- Markus: Hahaha!
- The meeting between Never Isle and the Anti-Shadow Alliance didn't go well,
- But in the following days, Lady Luck seemed to favor Gyee...
- Perhaps Markus's roar really resonated within some Shadowhunters...
- Or maybe your persuasion worked...
- Many Shadowhunters answered Never Isle's call and joined the offensive.
- And Osiris and the Arcana Academy's anti-shadow array exceeded expectations...
- The Oathblades and Order of Equality finally managed to retrofit eight high-speed assault ships...
- The Gyee warriors have assembled.
- The final battle is about to begin!!
- Day 102 of the Shadow occupation of the Azria ruins...
- Two days before the final battle...
- Nighttime at the Hottie Bar.
- Billy: You're back, Captain?
- Player: Hmmm.
- Billy: Are you alright?
- Player: I'm fine, just a bit tired...
- Player: I haven't caught a break since the Shadows came.
- Player: The final battle is in two days and I'm a little nervous...
- Billy: You get some good rest, Captain!
- Billy: I've heated some water. Go take a bath and relax.
- Player: Thank you, Billy!
- Billy: You're welcome.
- Player: Running an airship is super tiring; finding fuel, grub, and supplies is a real chore.
- Billy: Indeed, they're expensive and usually of bad quality...
- Billy: The Shadows have been a problem for three months. Essential supplies are now controlled and distributed by Never Isle.
- Player: Yeah, war makes life difficult for everyone.
- Player: Good thing is, there are only two days until the final attack, and then this will all be over.
- Player: By the way, do we still have enough liquor at the Hottie Bar?
- Billy: Yes! There haven't been many guests lately...
- Billy: The current stock is sufficient for a few weeks.
- Player: That's good...
- Player: The Commander has been busy preparing for the counterattack on Azria...
- Player: The Hottie Bar is the only place he can relax...
- Player: We can't run out of liquor when the Commander comes, that would be terrible!
- Markus: No liquor? No worries, I've got some on me!
- Markus enters the bar
- Player: Commander!
- Billy: Captain, Commander. I'll be right back.
- Billy: Call me if you need anything!
- Markus: Thank you!
- Billy: (smiles)
- Billy leaves
- Markus: Player, want to try some of my secret stash?
- Player: All right...
- Player: Hold on!
- Player: We are going to fight the Shadows...
- Player: What's with champagne before a battle?
- Player: Wouldn't it bring bad luck?
- Markus: Champagne... what's that?
- Player: Ah, it's just a type of wine from Earth...
- Markus: Haha, I didn't know you believed in superstitions, Player...
- Player: Haha...
- Markus: Don't worry, we Oathblades don't have such customs...
- Markus: Not only that, but every time before a big battle, I'll share a round with our brothers to boost our spirit!
- Markus: The big drinking party is tomorrow, but today, let's just have a few cups together!
- Markus: We've actually found that drinking before a battle makes us more likely to win!
- Player: So, like you guys say, when in Rome... Cheers!
- Sometime later after several rounds of drinking...
- Player: Ha! This is good stuff!
- Markus: (smiles)
- Markus: Here, let me pour you another!
- Player: Thanks.
- Markus: Player, no need to be so polite with me!
- Markus: Your Hottie Bar is really a blessing...
- Markus: Every time I come here, I feel uplifted...
- Markus: Thanks a ton, Player! You've been an amazing friend all this time!
- Player: I'm happy to help.
- Player: Even if it's just a little...
- Markus took a swig of his drink.
- Markus: Player, we are going to launch the final attack on the shadows...
- Player: My team and I are ready, my airship is at your command.
- Markus: ...
- Markus: Player, I hope you won't join the battle the day after tomorrow...
- Player: What?
- Markus: The battle at Azria will be the largest battle in Never Isle's history...
- Markus: And it is gonna be pretty intense...
- Markus: I'm worried that you might get hurt.
- Player: I'm not scared!
- Markus: You're a true warrior, I know that...
- Markus: But Never Isle is our home, and we have the responsibility to protect it...
- Markus: However, Player, you have family and friends on Earth...
- Markus: You mean a lot to us, and I'm pretty sure you mean a bunch to them too.
- Markus: So, no matter what happens, just make sure you're safe and get back home, okay?
- Player: What are you talking about?
- Player: I'm not going to just leave in the middle of a battle!
- Markus: Player, calm down, you've done enough for us...
- Player: Markus, you're the one who needs to calm down!
- Player: I may not be a Gyee, but everyone treats me like a friend, a brother!
- Player: I may have come from Earth, but when your homeland needs help, and the Gyees are fighting on the battlefield...
- Player: How can I hide like a coward? Impossible!!
- Player: Never Isle is also my home!
- Markus: Player...
- Player: The final battle is coming, and you all will be on the battlefield...
- Player: You are asking me to stand by and watch my Gyee brothers sacrifice their lives, and do nothing...
- Player: ...
- Player: No, I'd rather die...
- Markus: Oh no, don't...
- Player: I've been on Never Isle for years...
- Player: And we've been through so much together...
- Player: You, Markus, and the others are my brothers.
- Player: But even now, you're still treating me like an outsider...
- Markus: Uh...
- Player: Alas...
- Player gets up to leave
- Markus: Player, that's not what I meant...
- Player: ...
- Player: Sigh...
- Markus stands up from his seat
- Markus: Uh...
- Player: Sigh...
- Markus: Oh no, Player. I know you are concerned about Never Isle just like me...
- Markus: And it would make me angry if someone told me to stand aside in the final battle...
- Markus: Uh... I think I had one too many and said something silly.
- Player: ...
- Player: Alright, this conversation is over, let's not bring it up again!
- Markus: Sure! I promise!
- Markus: I apologize. It's all my fault!
- Player: (smiles)
- Some time later...
- You're a bit tipsy, and Markus's face is slightly flushed...
- Markus: Player, you look a bit flushed, let's call it a day, okay?
- Player: Are you kidding me?
- Player: I'm just getting started!
- Markus: Haha! Alright! You sit tight! I'll go get more wine!
- Markus gets up
- Markus: Uh...
- Markus: (Clutches his chest...)
- Player: Markus...
- Markus: I'm fine...
- Player: Old wound?
- Markus: It's okay, it's just the wine...
- Player: Come, let's go to the private baths...
- Player: Let me get you a warm compress, I've got the water ready!
- Markus: Nah, I'm good.
- Player: Aw, come on! Do me a favor!
- In the private baths, Markus took off his shirt...
- There was a large, deep scar on the upper right side of his chest...
- You sat on Markus's left, holding a towel soaked in hot water...
- Markus was enormous even without his armor.
- Every muscle on his body was well-defined...
- Scars mapped his body, testifying to his legend...
- Only such a body could survive the iron-blooded wars...
- Player: ...
- You wrung out the towel,
- then pressed it onto the scar that boldly marked his chest.
- Player: (Ah... so close...)
- Markus's chest was like steel...
- You could feel his heart beating slowly and steadily.
- And you could feel his breath on your face, so warm and comfortable...
- Markus: It felt really good!
- Markus: Thanks...
- Player: It's nothing, we're brothers...
- Suddenly, your supporting hand slipped...
- Markus: Be careful!
- Markus pulled you in close, holding you right up against him...
- Markus: Are you okay...
- Player: Uh...
- Gazing at his concerned face, you saw the steam and sweat drizzle down his face.
- Your heart started to race, your face turned red...
- Your chests were pressed together, and his heart was racing too...
- Player: (This feeling...)
- You know Markus...
- Who is fearless and brave, yet gentle and kind.
- Facing such a man...
- Choice 1.1 - (Confess!)
- Markus helps you sit up...
- Markus: Are you okay...
- Player: I... I have something to say!
- Markus: Ah! Did you get hurt?
- Player: I... I like you, Markus!
- Markus: (blushing) Ah...
- You picked up the towel and pressed it on Markus's chest scar again...
- His heart was racing...
- Player: Sorry, this might be a bit sudden.
- Player: But I really... adore you...
- Markus: Player...
- 'Markus: I...
- Player: If you don't feel the same way, just tell me...
- Markus: ...
- Markus: All this time, Player, you're the only one who makes me feel totally at ease...
- Markus: I do feel something for you...
- Player: (surprised)
- Markus: But I need time to think about it.
- Player: Uh...
- Markus: If I give you an answer now and then die in battle right after...
- Markus: You'd be left all alone, and that would be too painful...
- Player: Stop cursing yourself!
- Markus: No, let's be realistic, it's a possibility we can't ignore.
- Markus: So...
- Markus: I'll give you an answer if I survive the war.
- Markus: Okay?
- You pressed the towel tighter on Markus's chest...
- Player: Okay, I'll wait.
- Choice 1.2 - (Stay calm!)
- Markus helps you sit up...
- Markus: Are you okay...
- Player: I'm fine...
- Markus: I'll take care of it myself, it's too dangerous, one could easily slip in the bathroom.
- Player: Sure...
- Scene continues after choices
- After finishing the warm compress, you both take a bath together...
- Then you settled Markus in the guest room...
- And returned to the captain's room...
- Relishing his scent and warmth...
- You quickly fall asleep...

Ultimate Showdown
Gyee warriors from all over Luxium have gathered in Never Isle, and victory is their only goal!
- Day 104 of the Shadow occupation of the Azria ruins...
- Never Isle...
- A massive fleet of airships hover over Never Isle's port, armed and ready
- Gyee warriors from all around Luxium gather in front of the Arcana Academy to hear Markus's speech
- Markus: Warriors!
- Markus: You might come from the Oathblades, from the Order of Equality, from Arcana Academy...
- Markus: From Red Harbor, from Black Flame City, from Elysiann, from Crossport...
- Markus: From the great lakes and seas, and from all other parts of Luxium...
- Markus: No matter where you come from, we all share one identity...
- Markus: We all are GYEE!
- Markus: The Azria ruins are occupied by the Shadow Reaper.
- Markus: They possess a strength that humanity has never seen before...
- Markus: They have controlled Luxium's central lands by brute force.
- Markus: We have fought them many times, and unfortunately, we've lost more battles than we've won...
- Markus: Many excellent warriors have fallen...
- Markus: As we speak, Shadows are sending monsters to Shadow Fortress through portals nonstop...
- Markus: They want to conquer Crossport, Never Isle, and Luxium in one swift stroke!
- Markus: Shadows are indeed powerful...
- Markus: But they think they can take down Gyee?
- Markus: In their dreams!
- Markus: We, Gyee, are different now.
- Markus: We are united.
- Markus: We will put aside our grudges and fight as one...
- Markus: And we'll build Gyee's future and shape the world with Shadow's blood.
- Markus: Glory and faith are our shields, blood and screams are our battle songs!
- Markus: No matter who you were, what you did...
- Markus: great or small...
- Markus: Today, we have only one identity!
- Markus: That is, we are Gyee warriors!
- Markus: We have only one goal!
- Markus: That is victory!
- Markus: Warriors!
- Markus: Roar! Make our enemies tremble!
- Markus: Roar! Make the world shake!
- Warriors: Roar!!!
- Markus: Today, we'll kill all the Shadows and avenge our fallen brothers and all the innocent people!
- Markus: We will reclaim our lost lands and restore our homeland!
- Markus: We'll show the world our Gyee's fury and power!
- Warriors: Rrragh!
- Markus lifts up his sword
- Markus: Warriors!
- Markus: Move out!!!
- The attack on the Shadow begins...
- Shadows Outside the Barrier: Retreat! Retreat!
- Shadows Outside the Barrier: We're outnumbered and can't hold them off!
- Markus: Argh!!
- The warriors quickly make ground as they head towards the Ruins of Azria
- Markus: Warriors! Set up camp and secure communication!
- Markus: Hold this high ground!
- On the first night of the final battle...
- 12 kilometers west of the Azria ruins...
- In the camp's command center, Markus speaks to the air force on his comms crystal
- Player and Jerren also use their comms crystals to gather status updates from the other units
- Markus: Attention all fleets! The heavy warships must stay outside the Shadow Flux cannon range.
- Markus: Stay beyond the 12-kilometer line.
- Markus: All units, set up camp at the 12-kilometer mark, rest up, and await further orders.
- Markus: ...
- A scout comes to give Markus a report
- Oathblades Warrior: Report! The beachhead base is nearly finished...
- Markus: Okay!
- Markus: (starting communication crystal...) Miles, Nemesio...
- Markus: Fall back to the beachhead base right away, as planned.
- Miles on Communicator: Understood!
- Markus: What about Will and the main force of the Order of Equality?
- Will on Communicator: The main force of the Order of Equality has entered the 12-kilometer line and started building the beachhead base...
- Will on Communicator: Elysiann force has taken the 12-kilometer line despite encountering some trouble.
- Markus: Okay!
- Markus: Player, what is the status of the other attacking units?
- Player: Slower than expected...
- Player: The shadows retreated from their outer posts after detecting our fleet.
- Player: They are gathering forces for counterattack.
- Player: The good news is that most units have set up their outer bases as planned...
- Markus: Shadow considers us the greatest threat to the Shadow Fortress...
- Markus: ...
- Markus: We need to hurry, there are only Defense Forces and a few Arcanists on Never Isle...
- Markus: If this drags on, Never Isle might be in danger.
- Player: Yes.
- Jerren: Report from Elysian River surveillance unit, Commander.
- Jerren: A large force of Shadows is mobilizing from Azria Fortress to Elysian River, apparently planning to advance upstream.
- Player: Hmm! They want to attack Never Isle?
- Jerren: Hard to say, they may be targeting Crossport, which is nearer than Never Isle.
- Markus: ...
- Markus: How many are they?
- Jerren: Half of Azria Fortress's garrison force...
- Player: Hmm! So many?
- Player: If they attack Never Isle directly, Never Isle might fall...
- Player: Commander, should we send our main force to intercept them?
- Markus: ...
- Jerren: Commander, the key to this war is the Azria Shadow Fortress...
- Jerren: The forces on Elysian River might be Shadow's bait!
- Jerren: We don't have many troops, if Shadow ties us down, we might not have enough forces for the main attack!
- Jerren: Besides, Shadow's forces must traverse Crossport's territory before attacking Never Isle.
- Jerren: We might be at odds with the White Capes, but are they going to overlook the shadows? I don't think so.
- Player: When Never Isle was attacked, didn't Shadow go straight into Lake Bliss?
- Player: We can't pin our hopes on the White Capes!
- Markus: Hmm, Player is right...
- Markus: Trusting the White Capes was a costly mistake...
- Markus: The battle has begun, and splitting our forces is a bad idea.
- Markus: Now, only half of the Shadows are guarding Azria, this is our chance!
- Markus: Izumi is not a child anymore, I believe he can hold Never Isle!
- Markus: Our battle plan stays the same. Take the Shadow Fortress and the Shadows are neutralized!
- Markus: Notify the units near the Elysian River...
- Markus: Engage Shadows if they're in range, but don't go all-out!
- Jerren: Yes, sir!
- Another messenger comes
- Oathblades Messenger: Report! Commander, all units have completed the establishment of the beachhead base...
- Oathblades Messenger: Let's execute the encirclement plan!
- Markus: Good! Notify all units to advance in fifteen minutes!
- Markus: Heavy warships, prepare for cannon fire cover!!
- Oathblades Messenger: Yes, sir!
- Late at night, seven kilometers west of the Azria ruins, outside the shadow barrier...
- A large group of Shadowcultists and demons stand ready, waiting for the Gyee's attack
- Shadow forces: Roar...
- Shadow forces: Hold this place, and keep them away from the lord's Barrier!
- Watching the enemy from afar, Miles gives the order to attack
- Miles: Oathblades heavy warships, coordinates uploaded...
- Miles: Fire at will!
- Oathblades Fleet Commander: Order received! Fleet, fire!!
- Distant explosions can be faintly heard by the Shadow on the ground
- Shadow forces: Hmm?
- Suddenly, artillery rains down and defeats almost all of the Shadow
- Miles and his unit make their way to the barrier
- Miles: Brothers, hold this place!
- Miles: Arcanists, deploy the Flux Barrier to counter Shadow cannon fire!
- Shadowbeast: Hiss!
- Miles quickly kills the beast
- Miles: There are still enemies left, stay alert!
- As Miles gives out his warning, a Shadow Priest aims his scepter
- Shadow Priest: ...
- Eddie: Miles!
- Eddie blasts the Shadow Priest from above and lands next to Miles
- Eddie: Watch yourself, don't be so reckless!
- Miles: (smiles)
- Miles: Just mind your own business!
- Miles: (pulls out Arcana communication crystal...) Commander, I have secured the forefront point of the shadow barrier.
- Miles: I've joined the main force of the Order of Equality. Osiris and the others can move in!
- A few moments later...
- Vundo, Osiris, Chi Guo and many academy arcanists set up the anti-Shadow array just outside the Shadow barrier
- Markus: Osiris, Master Chi Guo, President Vundo, I'm counting on you!
- Vundo: No problem!
- Vundo: Thanks to Osiris, half of Arcana Academy has become Arcana experts.
- Osiris: Not at all, Master Chi Guo and the professors deserve the credit for their hard work.
- Chi Guo: The Anti-Shadow array is all set! Shall we head out?
- Player and Markus get out of the way
- Chi Guo spins his spear and slams one end into the ground
- The other arcanists each focus at the spot Chi Guo hit
- Player: What's this?
- Chi Guo: This is what we found out last night.
- Chi Guo: The array and my strength resonate with each other...
- Vundo: In theory, this can dispel the shadow barrier for an hour and a half!
- Player: Another half an hour, that's great!
- Markus: (smiles)
- Markus: All units, hold positions outside the shadow barrier until I give the order!
- Markus speaks with Player
- Markus: We... are here again...
- Markus: We don't have much information from inside the shadow barrier...
- Markus: If anything unexpected happens, we'll improvise...
- Player: Yes.
- Player: Last time, the third Shadow Reaper destroyed our fleet...
- Player: But this time, we are well prepared!
- Markus: Not only well prepared, but also with the courage to face death and the determination to win!
- Markus: We will definitely triumph!
- Player: Of course!
- Ten minutes later...
- Player: The shadow barrier is down! We really did it!
- Osiris: The barrier flux has dissipated...
- Osiris: Commander, it's time to attack!
- Markus: All units, attack now!
- Markus: All air units, hold your positions, please. High-speed assault ships, get ready to roll out!
- Markus: All other units, charge! Kill all the Shadows!!
- Warriors: Die!
- Two hours later, a few kilometers west of the Shadow Azria Fortress...
- Markus leads the attack deeper into the enemy's territory
- Shadows: Roar!!
- Markus: Look out, everyone!
- Markus: It's the Shadow Cannon! Arcanists!
- Chi Guo: Gather around me, everyone!
- At the critical moment, Chi Guo blocked the Shadow bombing...
- Player: Phew... that was close...
- Markus: Arcanist, quickly set up an Arcana Shield!
- Miles: Wait, I hear something...
- Miles: A large number of Shadows are coming our way!
- Hordes of Shadow demons and beasts pour out through the surrounding forests
- Markus: Uh...
- Markus: Everyone! Hold the line!
- Player: Ugh... our attack is stuck...
- Player: Are the Shadows focusing all their forces on us?
- Markus: Yes, but so long as we take the heat, our other brothers will get a break...
- Will on Communicator: Commander, our Arcanists found multiple teleport points around the Shadow Fortress...
- Will on Communicator: And each teleport point has several Shadow cannons and several portals...
- Will on Communicator: Shadow reinforcements are coming through the portals to your location!
- Markus: Ha! Looks like my head is worth a fortune...
- Markus: General Will, you command the units to surround the Shadow Fortress as planned...
- Will on Communicator: Brother units will clear the teleport points and Shadows as they advance.
- Will on Communicator: But we have few troops in the north and northeast...
- Markus: Don't worry, Shadow has reinforcements, and so do we!!
- A few moments later...
- North stronghold of Shadow Azria Fortress...
- A Shadow Spider Queen and its minions guards two large Shadow cannons
- Shadow Demon: The brothers on the western front fell one by one...
- Shadow Demon: The eastern camp is now in flames...
- Shadow Spider Queen: Without the blessings of the Shadowlord...
- Shadow Spider Queen: Those ants are too many...
- Shadow Demon: At this rate, the fortress we built in the central continent will be in trouble...
- Shadow Spider Queen: Don't worry, there are the other two messengers of the Shadowlord...
- Shadow Demon: But the lord's barrier has been breached, and the messenger inside is no fighter...
- Shadow Spider Queen: Don't forget we still have that lord.
- Shadow Spider Queen: The lord will annihilate all those ants!
- Shadow Spider Queen: As long as we can hold our base...
- Shadow Spider Queen: Countless reinforcements will come from the portals of Shadow City.
- Shadow Spider Queen: And our cannons will blast them into meat paste!
- ???: Finally!
- The Shadow quickly look around, trying to find the intruder
- Shadow Spider Queen: Ugh, it's those ants!
- Shadow Demon: When did they come?
- Takashi strikes from above, killing the Spider Queen
- Takashi: Warriors of Fire Flux!
- Takashi: Eliminate the Shadows!
- Almost simultaneously, northeast of the Azria Shadow Fortress...
- Batur, Kamui and other Alterland warriors have just defeated the Shadow forces at their location
- Batur: (pulls out communication crystal...) Commander Markus...
- Batur: The Shadow teleport circle in the northeast camp has been destroyed...
- Markus on Communicator: Good job! Man!
- Markus on Communicator: Your help has come at the perfect time...
- Markus on Communicator: Thank you, Brothers of Alterland!
- Batur: You're welcome, we are also Gyee...
- Batur: The Oathblades and Never Isle came to Alterland's aid when we were in trouble.
- Batur: The Forest God will bless you!
- Batur: Alterland's warriors will guard this place and wait for your orders, Commander!
- With the help of the Fire Flux Shadowhunters and the Alterland warriors...
- The Gyee army kept moving forward.
- At last, they reached the city gate...
- A Shadow Reaper stands as the gate keeper, joined by a mass of Shadow beasts and demons
- Player: It's the second Shadow Reaper, the one who controls the shadow barrier!
- Player: But why hasn't the 3rd Shadow Reaper shown up yet?
- Shadow Reaper: Foolish ants, how dare you desecrate our fortress!
- Shadow Reaper: You'll pay for defiling god!
- Miles: Bullshit, Azria is our Gyee's land!
- Miles: It's you who tarnished this place!
- Miles: Brothers, follow me! Kill these Shadow bastards!!
- Miles rushes forward but a purple haze stops him
- Miles: Uh...
- Player: Miles! What was that?
- Markus: Shadow Energy is materializing!
- Markus: The 3rd Shadow Reaper... he finally appeared!
- The 3rd Shadow Reaper: The Shadow's loyal servants!
- The 3rd Shadow Reaper: Don't be afraid!
- The 3rd Shadow Reaper: I am the messenger of the Shadowlord, Master's strength will keep these ants away!
- The 3rd Shadow Reaper: Fight to the death! Servants!
- Shadow Monster: Rrragh!
- Markus: The last Shadow Reaper has appeared!
- Markus: High-speed assault ships, engage! Finish off that Shadow Reaper!
- Soon after, the high-speed assault ships began to bombard the Shadow forces...
- The 3rd Shadow Reaper shifted fire to the assault ships...
- Taking the chance, Markus spearheaded an attack with Gyee ground forces...
- Markus: Die!
- A few moments later
- Many of the minions have fallen to the Gyee's blades
- Shadow Reaper: You... you damn ants!
- Shadow Reaper: What an abomination!
- Shadow Reaper: Ugh, combat isn't my forte...
- Miles strikes the Shadow Reaper
- Miles: Just shut up!
- Shadow Reaper: This isn't over!
- Shadow Reaper: You can't escape... death...
- Shadow Reaper: ...
- Player: Another Shadow Reaper down!
- Markus: (smiles)
- Markus: Only one left now...
- Boom! Boom! Boom!
- Assault Captain's Comms: Right on target, repeat, three high explosion bombs right on target...
- Player: Uh! Really?
- Assault Captain's Comms: The target stopped attacking!
- Assault Captain's Comms: The target stopped attacking!
- Player: So much for The 3rd Shadow Reaper...
- Player: Gone!
- Miles: We won...
- Eddie: We won!
- Osiris: Sorry to interrupt...
- Chi Guo: I'm afraid the fight isn't over yet!
- A Shadow barrier engulfs a strange door at the base of a large tree
- Markus: The Barrier is still active here.
- Eddie: Wasn't the Barrier controlled by the Shadow Reaper?
- Miles: What if this shadow barrier has nothing to do with the Shadow Reaper...
- Osiris: It seems the 3rd Shadow Reaper's evil strength persists....
- Osiris: I'm afraid the assault ship just attacked an illusion.
- Player: Hmmm...
- Player: The 3rd Shadow Reaper's evil strength can be felt here...
- Markus: He's hiding here...
- Markus: No big deal, let's just break the shadow barrier and smash him to smithereens...
- Markus: There's only one Shadow Reaper left to cause trouble!
- Markus: Osiris, Chi Guo, you take care of the shadow barrier!
- Chi Guo: Okay!
- Osiris and Chi Guo concentrate
- Osiris: Uh...
- Chi Guo: Osiris, this Barrier... seems odd!
- Osiris: Of course!
- Player: What's up?
- Osiris: Player, Commander...
- Osiris: This shadow barrier is stronger than the one outside the Ruins of Azria.
- Markus: The Shadow certainly have some secrets up their sleeve...
- Markus: Is there a way to deactivate the barrier?
- Osiris: Chi Guo and I can deactivate it together, but only for a minute.
- Player: A minute?
- Markus: Well... President Vundo and the professors have exhausted themselves lifting the outer barrier...
- Markus: We can no longer form an Anti-Shadow Array...
- Player: So... what can we do?
- Markus: Lift the shadow barrier, I'm going in!
- Player: What? No way! It's too dangerous!
- Player: I'll go with you!
- Miles: Me too!
- Eddie: And me!
- Osiris: With the outer shadows routed, the brother forces began to clear the battlefield...
- Osiris: Master Chi Guo and I will stay here and keep a lookout...
- Chi Guo: If anything happens, come out and we'll reopen the barrier!
- Markus: Hmmm...
- Markus: Okay!
- Markus: Then the four of us will go after the last Shadow Reapers, and you stay outside!
- Chi Guo: Brother Osiris!
- Osiris: C'mon!
- Osiris: Commander Player, get ready!
- Osiris and Chi Guo repel the barrier
- Markus: Alright, let's go!
- Inside the corrupted tree...
- The four are surrounded by an industrial-looking complex that goes deep underground
- Eddie: What is this place?
- Miles: How could the Shadows build a place like this in Azria...
- Miles: Hurry and find the Shadow Reaper! This place makes me feel sick...
- Player: Shadow Reaper's energy is coming from down below...
- Markus: Then we'll go down!
- Markus: We cannot keep it like this, things might go south!
- Player: Of course!
- A few moments later...
- The party continues to go deeper...
- A few moments later...
- The complex doesn't seem to end...
- An hour or so later...
- Miles: How long have we been walking?
- Eddie: Almost... three hours...
- Player: How much deeper could it be...
- Eddie: Right... I'll fly down to investigate.
- Miles: No way! It's too dangerous!
- Miles: We won't be able to cover you if something happens!
- Player: I wonder what's happening on the outside...
- Player: It's been ages since we heard anything...
- Markus: Arcana Communication has been down since we got here...
- Markus: Osiris and Chi Guo are outside, as well as Commander Will and his troops...
- Markus: It's nothing.
- Player: Of course!
- Player: Uh!
- You suddenly get a weird vibe from the walls around you...
- Eddie: What's up?
- Player: Shadow Flux just seeped out of the wall...
- Miles: Shadow Flux? Why is there Shadow Flux in the wall?
- Player: It looks like there's a Shadow Portal behind the wall...
- Markus: Shadow Portal?
- Player: Maybe I'm hallucinating...
- Markus: Come on, let's take care of the Shadow Reaper first, then come back!
- Player: Ok!
- The four continue to traverse the depths of the complex
- How long have we been walking...
- Suddenly, player spots the Shadow Reaper
- Player: Uh! Over there!
- Markus: We found it!
- Eddie: Take down the Shadow Reaper!
- Miles: Shadow, you will die here today!
- The Last Shadow Reaper: Ants... arrogant in the face of death!
- Player: Same to you, monster!
- Markus: Warriors! Don't bullshit him!
- The Shadow Reaper doesn't pose a threat to their combined forces
- The Last Shadow Reaper: ...
- Player: He's not moving?
- Miles: Too easy, don't you think?
- Markus: ...
- Markus: No, the Shadow Reaper's scent is still here. Stay alert!
- ???: Haha! Hahaha!
- ???: Didn't think I'd get caught that fast.
- ???: I was teasing, just wanted to see the look on your faces!
- ???: Well then...
- Four smaller Shadow Reapers appear face the four companions
- Player: Uh! Now there are four!
- The Last Shadow Reaper: Four on four, a fair match...
- Eddie: They must be illusions...
- Eddie: There's only one real deal!
- The Last Shadow Reaper: Come on! Let's have some fun~
- The Last Shadow Reaper: I'll be kind and let you die a painful death.
- Markus: Here it comes! Look out, everyone!
- The Reapers pose a significant challenge
- Player: Huff... huff...
- Player: No way, I don't have enough strength to defeat him alone...
- Markus: Uh...
- Markus: Eddie, take Miles out of here!
- Miles: No! I'm not afraid!
- Eddie: !!
- Markus: Don't dawdle! Hurry!
- Eddie: Okay!
- Eddie grabs Miles and takes off
- Markus: Player, stand behind me, I will protect you!
- Markus: I might not be able to beat him, but I can handle his attacks!
- Player: Commander!
- Markus: Trust me!
- The Last Shadow Reaper: Really? Let's give it a try!
- Markus: Argh!
- A few moments later...
- The four Reaper clones still stand
- The Last Shadow Reaper: Not bad for you little ants...
- The Last Shadow Reaper: Congratulations!
- The Last Shadow Reaper: As a reward, I will grant you quick death!
- Portals start to form in front of each clone
- The Last Shadow Reaper: My fellow reapers...
- The Last Shadow Reaper: Reveal your strength!
- Markus: Fellow reapers?
- At that moment, the Wheel of Fate on your body shone brightly...
- The Last Shadow Reaper: Huh?
- The Shadow Reaper's portal is becoming unstable...
- Markus: Wha... the Shadow Arcana failed?
- The Last Shadow Reaper: Failed... the first time...
- Eddie flies down from above
- Eddie: Commander, Player!
- Markus: Eddie, take Player out of here! Hurry!
- Player: What? No! Take Commander!
- The Last Shadow Reaper: You're all going to die here!
- Eddie: Fine! We'll go together!
- Eddie: Hold on!
- Markus and Player both grab onto Eddie and he blasts off up to the entrance
- The Last Shadow Reaper: They got away...
- The Last Shadow Reaper: Hmmm...
- The Last Shadow Reaper: No matter...
- The Last Shadow Reaper: Once you get out of here, you'll know...
- The Last Shadow Reaper: You've already lost!
- Outside the corrupted tree...
- Player: Guo Chi, Osiris, lift the barrier! Hurry!
- Chi Guo: It's Player!
- Osiris: Thanks to the Holy Light, they're still alive!
- Player: Uh!!
- Markus: What... what is this?
- Eddie: We walked for almost four hours, why is it still dark?
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Osiris: Guys... you've been in there for five whole days...
- Miles: What? You're kidding...
- Markus: What the hell is going on here...?
- Shadow Monster: Rooaaarrr!
- Chi Guo: Now is not the time for chit-chat, Commander and the others have already made it to safety...
- Chi Guo: We must retreat!
- Osiris: Right! Come on, quick!

Destiny Axe
The god of luck's favor is like a joke. The last Shadow Reaper shows his true power. What was once a devastating attack was like a candle in the wind. The Gyees stood at the fork in the road of destiny again, yet at the end of both roads was death...
- Day 6 of the final battle...
- Four kilometers south of the Shadow Azria fortress...
- Everyone returns to the command center where Will, Vundo and Jerren are waiting
- Will: Commander Markus, Player...
- Will: Thank God, you're all alive!
- Player: What the hell happened?
- Player: We've been walking for four hours, how has it been five days?
- Eddie: General Will wouldn't lie to us...
- Eddie: It must be the Shadow Reaper!
- Miles: You mean, Shadow Reapers can play with time?
- Miles: This can't be true!
- Markus: Shadow Reaper wields strength we've never seen before...
- Markus: That's for sure...
- Markus: Will, how's the battle going?
- Will: ...
- Markus: How bad is it?
- Will: It wasn't long after you entered the corrupted tree...
- Will: Hundreds of Shadow Portals have appeared around Azria...
- Will: Countless Shadow monsters flood out of the portals, surrounding us...
- Miles: Hundreds of Shadow Portals?
- Eddie: How is that possible? Shadow Portals need someone to channel them!
- Markus: Calm down, General Will. Please, continue...
- Will: Back then, we were spreading out to search and clear the battlefield...
- Will: The Shadows suddenly appeared and scattered our force!
- Player: What?
- Twelve kilometers west of the Shadow Azria fortress...
- Will: The beachhead bases have fallen...
- Six kilometers north of the Shadow Azria fortress...
- Will: After the battle began, all the strongholds and camps we built were destroyed...
- Despite the losses, Gyee continue to battle against the Shadow in the few areas they still have control
- Markus: ...
- Will: As we speak, oceans of Shadow loom over our scattered troops and fallen warriors...
- Will: Fortunately, General Takashi and the Alterland warriors in the north managed to converge and set up camp on higher ground...
- Will: The south is also our base...
- Will: It was built by the Oathblades and the Order of Equality warriors...
- Will: Shadows were flooding both bases like mad.
- Will: Though they're not as powerful as the strengthened Shadow Reaper, they're greater in numbers...
- Will: We are holding on for the time being.
- Markus: How many... casualties?
- Will: ...
- Will: According to estimates, we've lost at least 30% of our troops...
- Will: We still have 20% of troops near the Shadow Fortress who have not broken out of the encirclement...
- Markus: ...
- Will: We're trying to save as many people as we can, given the circumstances.
- Jerren: So, General, what did you find in the corrupted tree?
- Jerren: Is the Shadow Reaper in there?
- Player: ...
- Markus: ...
- Miles: ...
- Eddie: ...
- You tell everyone what is happening inside the corrupted tree...
- Player: So far it appears... that place is a trap...
- Player: Trick us into entering, stall us, and then make a surprise attack!
- Markus: Their plan worked.
- Markus: ...
- Will: But it's over now, let's not dwell on it...
- Will: This kind of trap was completely unexpected...
- Will: This isn't over. We need to figure out what we're going to do next!
- Vundo: First we must work out the Shadow Reaper's abilities and find a way to counter him!
- Eddie: So far, we know he can materialize Shadow Energy...
- Miles: A non-illusionary clone, with strength immune to conventional weapons...
- Player: Plus the ability to control the flow of time in the region...
- Will: Uh...
- Will: Can the Last Shadow Reaper be this powerful?
- Markus: ...
- Osiris: One strength is tricky enough, let alone four...
- Player: Shadow Reaper set a trap to lure us in...
- Player: He saw us with an annoying air of calm confidence...
- Player: I'm afraid that monster was still holding back!
- Will: Uh...
- Markus: ...
- Will: This Shadow Reaper has more than four strengths, and his Shadow strength is crazy powerful...
- Player: General Will... do you mean...
- Will: It's time to retreat!
- Miles: Retreat? Are you kidding me?
- Miles: We've come this far! Retreat now?
- Jerren: Many warriors are still trapped within the Shadow's encirclement...
- Jerren: Retreating now would be a death sentence for them!
- Jerren: No way!
- Will: The warriors' sacrifice is a tragic loss.
- Will: But with the portals delivering Shadow reinforcements, our rescue mission will only get harder!
- Will: If this drags on, Shadow will soon overwhelm both our north and south bases.
- Will: If we retreat now...
- Will: We can withdraw half our forces and still have a chance to organize another counterattack!
- Osiris: ...
- Osiris: I agree...
- Osiris: Our troops will all be destroyed if we go on like this, and Luxium will be doomed!
- Osiris: There's no need for more warriors to die for no reason...
- Miles: Uh...
- Will: What's more, the battle has taken longer than expected...
- Will: Never Isle is also fighting the Shadows...
- Will: The Defense Force is short on hands and can't hold out if we keep fighting.
- Eddie: Izumi...
- Miles: ...
- Player: Will... will you retreat?
- Markus: Never!
- Markus: Something in the corrupted tree looks fishy to me...
- Will: Fishy?
- Markus: Why does only the last of the three Shadow Reapers possess multiple strengths?
- Markus: It doesn't make sense!
- Markus: When Miles first discovered it, the four summoning arrays were identical, right?
- Miles: I'll never forget this...
- Miles: That's right! Four identical summoning arrays...
- Miles: Wolf Squad destroyed one, then three Shadow Reapers showed up in the rest of the arrays.
- Markus: Why were we able to handle the first two Shadow Reapers?
- Markus: And the last one is so tricky?
- Player: Uh... true.
- Player: ...And there's another thing!
- Player: When the Shadow Reaper got tired of playing and wanted to end us...
- Player: Three portals appeared...
- Player: I remember when he said...
- Player: 'My fellow reapers... reveal your strength!'
- Player: Then the Wheel of Fate glowed and the three portals disappeared...
- Player: The Shadow Reaper's face was like 'what the...?' and super frustrated.
- Eddie: He's hella strong and has a massive ego...
- Eddie: Why wouldn't it use it's own strength to deliver the final blow?
- Miles: What?! Fellow reapers? Are there still Shadow Reapers in the Ruins of Azria?
- Vundo: No! That's impossible!
- Vundo: The portal array for summoning the Shadow Reaper requires Luxium energy flow for support...
- Vundo: It is impossible to summon a Shadow Reaper in three months!
- Miles: What the hell is going on?!
- Markus: ...
- Player: (Three Shadow Reapers of the same level, two with a special strength...)
- Player: (The last one has many powerful strengths...)
- Player: 'Fellow reapers... reveal your strength...'
- Player: (Shadow Portal?)
- Player: (By the way, once we get into the corrupted tree...)
- Player: (Hundreds of portals have appeared near Shadow Azria...)
- Player: (Even a basic Shadow Portal requires a Shadow Tribute, Shadow Demon or something to activate it...)
- Player: (Shadow Portal?)
- Markus: Uh!
- Player: !!!
- Markus: Portal!
- Player: It's a Portal!
- You and Markus shouted the words at the same time...
- Markus: Sure enough, Player, you noticed it too?
- Player: Of course!
- Eddie: Portal! What's that?
- Markus: The Last Shadow Reaper's ability is Portals!
- Player: He borrowed strength through the portals, from other Shadow Reapers in the Shadowland!
- Eddie: So that's why the last Shadow Reaper had multiple strengths...
- Eddie: That's also why they can summon so many portals outside the Ruins of Azria!
- Miles: I see!
- Miles: Tricky bastard!
- Osiris: So... what do we do about those portals...
- Player: The Wheel of Fate!
- Player: For some reason, the Wheel of Fate reacted the moment it senses Shadow Reaper...
- Player: In the nick of time, the Wheel of Fate froze and dispelled three portals!
- Chi Guo: Great, we can prepare a counterattack!
- Vundo: But, isn't it just our assumption?
- Vundo: We don't have enough evidence that the Shadow Reaper's ability is portals...
- Vundo: We need Arcana samples, we need to experiment!
- Miles: ...Experiment? I don't think we have time, President Vundo.
- Will: What President Vundo means is, the Shadow Reaper portal ability is our inference...
- Will: Just like before the general offensive, we thought the Shadow Reaper's ability was to materialize Shadow Energy...
- Eddie: Yes...
- Eddie: Maybe that's just another trick the Shadow's playing on us...
- Player: Well, that's a possibility, but we gotta try...
- Will: Give it a shot...
- Will: Azria has been surrounded by the Shadows...
- Will: The troops we can mobilize now are only 50% of what they were when we left...
- Will: We can't even get close to the Shadow Reaper!
- Player: Hmm... You're right.
- Markus: ...
- Markus: But there might still be a way...
- Will: What is it?
- Markus: Order warriors to launch a feint attack from north and south, pinning down Shadows and drawing their fire.
- Markus: Then we send out elite squads to infiltrate the corrupted tree...
- Markus: ...and take out the Shadow Reaper!
- Player: Launch a feint attack with a large force?
- Player: But Azria is surrounded by Shadow Minions...
- Player: If we charge head on, it's basically a death sentence...
- Markus: ...
- Markus: The faster the troops can take out the Shadow Reapers, the less warriors will die...
- Will: It's playing with fire! Markus!
- Markus: I know...
- Markus: But this is our only option!
- Jerren: But... this is sending warriors to their deaths...
- Jerren: Commander!
- Markus: ...
- Will: (angry)
- Will: No way!
- Will: No way! No way!
- Will: No way!
- Will: The risk is unfathomable!
- Will: If the plan fails, or if the Shadow Reaper still has an ace up its sleeve...
- Will: We'll lose our entire force!
- Will: Never Isle... Gyee... even Luxium...
- Will: All will cease to exist!
- Markus: There's no going back...
- Will: Commander, calm down!
- Markus: I'm fine!
- Markus: If we retreat now, can we arrange another counterattack?
- Player: (surprised)
- Will: ...
- Markus: The shadows took the Ruins of Azria right under our noses over three months ago...
- Markus: Ten days later, Shadow bombs began falling on Never Isle...
- Markus: More than two months ago, the Alliance organized a failed offensive...
- Markus: More than 100 days into the war...
- Markus: Life is getting worse for the Gyees of Never Isle...
- Markus: Supplies are limited, there's not even enough food to go around!
- Markus: But they have supported us...
- Markus: Because all Gyees believe we can lead them to victory!
- Markus: The remaining defense forces at Never Isle, Red Harbor, and Elysiann have been in dire straits for six days.
- Markus: All other warriors have rallied for battle...
- Markus: We're not alone, the Shadowhunters and Alterland warriors still stand with us...
- Markus: And there are courageous Gyees from all over Luxium!
- Markus: Our troops are unstoppable! We have more strength than ever!
- Markus: If even this... cannot defeat the Shadows...
- Markus: And if even this ends in defeat...
- Markus: Will the people ever trust us again?
- Markus: Is there still hope for us Gyees?
- Markus: Without hope, Never Isle...
- Markus: Will it still exist?
- Miles: ...
- Eddie: ...
- Will: These questions...
- Will: You think I didn't know that?
- Will: But... we are the commanders!
- Will: This decision is a matter of life and death!
- Will: A warrior's life cannot be lost in vain! We can't fight a battle that is doomed!
- Markus: There is still hope, we can still prevail!
- Will: But it's a long shot!
- Markus: Will!
- Will: No way! Markus, no! I could never agree to this!
- Will: Quit trying to convince me...
- Will: This determines the fate of Gyee, we should vote!
- Will: Right! Let's vote! The leaders and people of Never Isle have the right to decide their own future!
- Markus: (surprised)
- Markus: Alright...
- Markus: Those in favor of the counterattack, come stand by me...
- Markus: Those in favor of retreat, stand beside Will...
- Player: What should I do? Which side?
- Player: Retreat will save 50% of the troops, but the people will become desperate...
- Player: Counterattack has a chance of victory, but a slim one...
- Choice 1.1 - (Choose counterattack!)
- Player: The Commander is right!
- Player: It's now or never...
- Player: We must win, victory is ours!
- Player: There's no going back...
- Choice 1.2 - (Choose retreat!)
- Player: Sorry, Commander...
- Player: Your plan is too risky...
- Markus: I understand.
- Scene continues after choices
- Quickly, everyone picks a side...
- Standing next to Markus is Miles
- Standing next to Will is Eddie, Chi Guo, Osiris, Vundo and Jerren
- No matter what Player chose, the leaders of Gyee have made their choice
- Will: The results are clear!
- Miles: Jerren, how come even you...
- Jerren: The Oathblades... cannot just abandon brothers to fate!
- Jerren: Sorry, Commander...
- Markus: I understand...
- Will: Commander, you must respect the decision of the Never Isle leaders and everyone else!
- Markus: ...
- Will: You are Commander of the Oathblades, leader of the Gyee warriors...
- Will: You know what to do!
- Markus: Hmmm...
- Markus: Outnumbered and outgunned, it's a long shot...
- Markus: We should reserve our strength, retreat, regroup, and plot our next move!
- Osiris: (surprised)
- Will: (Nods deeply...)
- Will: That's right!
- Markus: You're in charge of the retreat...
- Markus: I'll...
- Markus: Go help the brothers on the front line...
- Miles: Me too!
- Markus and Miles leave
- Player: Commander...
- Will: He made the right decision...
- Will: Open communications!
- Will: All units, we've lost our advantage, fall back!
- Will: Gyee warriors, we have established front line positions to the north and south...
- Will: We will hold our current position for 12 hours. Evacuate to the nearest base immediately!
- Will: Repeat, we're pulling out! All units, prep for withdrawal!
- Outside of the command center...
- Markus: Shadows!!
- Markus: Rrraghhhhhhhhhhh!
- Markus: To hell with all of them!!!
- Markus unleashes his pent up rage...
- But his bitterness ran deeper than anger..
- But what could he do?
- Four hours later...
- Markus: ...
- Markus pulls out a case from his belonging at the camp
- This case contains the weapons of Markus's youth...
- Markus takes this case to every big battle...
- But Markus has never opened it...
- Markus: Friends... what should I do?
- Markus: Will wasn't wrong...
- Markus: Commanders cannot send their warriors to die...
- Markus: Leaders cannot gamble with the fate of Gyee...
- Markus: We have lost our advantage, retreat is imperative...
- Markus: This battle cannot be won!
- Markus: But... another loss, and we've lost half of our troops...
- Markus: Warriors will despair and the people will fear...
- Markus: Will we get another chance?
- Markus: If the Shadows pursue victory... Never Isle might...
- Markus's inner warrior speaks to himself
- Markus-Furious Lion: The tragedy of Azria must not happen again! Gyee must not fall!
- Markus-Furious Lion: Have you forgotten your oath to General Raven?
- Markus: No! I haven't forgotten!
- Markus: There was no other way!
- Markus-Furious Lion: How could that be?
- Markus-Furious Lion: You found the Shadow Reaper's weakness and a way to victory!
- Markus: But that means sending warriors to their death...
- Markus: And the Shadow Reaper's weakness... I'm not absolutely sure...
- Markus: As the Commander, I cannot do that!
- Markus-Furious Lion: But I can!
- Markus-Furious Lion: It's enough to have a target and know their weakness!
- Markus-Furious Lion: Don't forget who you are!
- Markus: Who am I...?
- Markus-Furious Lion: You are Markus! A warrior of General Raven!
- Markus-Furious Lion: The enemy's cries fuel our strength, their blood our war prize!
- Markus-Furious Lion: Go! Even if it means death, we shall bring victory to Gyee!
- Markus: Right! I am Markus!
- Markus: Azria's berserker!
- Markus takes hold of the double axes in the case, his Valorous Fangs, and dons his old armor
- Markus: ...
- Two hours later...
- Osiris: Are you sure you want to do this?
- Markus: A warrior must give everything to destroy his enemy!
- Markus: Victory is ours, whatever the cost!
- Osiris: Alright...
- Osiris: Here's what you asked for...
- Osiris: Photo Flux Bomb...
- Osiris: Should be able to blow the shadow barrier at the corrupted tree for ten seconds...
- Markus: Thank you! That's enough!
- Markus: Farewell, brother!
- Osiris watches Markus leave
- Osiris: Brother... you are a true hero.
- Eight hours later, the forces began to retreat...
- Will and Jerren continue to oversee the retreat from the command center
- Will: Attention all troops, we are beginning our retreat...
- Will: Warriors should alternat covering each other while retreating away from Azria!
- Player enters the command center
- Player: Have you seen the Commander?
- Player: I can't find him anywhere!
- Will: He is probably organizing the Oathblades retreat?
- Jerren: Commander?
- Miles enters in a panic, a large bundle in his arms
- Miles: No!
- Miles: Player, please!
- Miles drops the bundle on the floor
- Miles: Commander left his armor and comm crystal...
- Miles: And a letter of resignation...
- Jerren: Commander?
- Will: What?
- Player: There's a message in the comm crystal!
- Player activates the crystal and Markus's voice begins to play
- Markus: Hearing this recording means I'm getting close to the corrupted tree...
- Markus: General Will is right...
- Markus: We haven't established that Shadow Reaper's ability is portals...
- Markus walks towards the corrupted tree...
- Markus: A counterattack that recklessly gambles the lives of our warriors...
- Markus: As Commander of the Oathblades, I cannot!
- Three spider queens block his way...
- Markus: But we must act, not just retreat.....
- Markus: I, I cannot!
- The spider queens surround him...
- Markus: I promised General Raven I would not let the Azria tragedy repeat itself ...
- Markus: I promised to protect my countrymen and lead Gyee into the future!
- Markus: Any chance of victory must be seized!
- Markus: We must give it all we've got, to make it a reality!
- Markus can hear their hissing and readies his axes...
- Markus: In a conflict between identity and vows, I choose vows!
- Markus: I hereby resign as Commander of the Oathblades, my position will be filled by General Jerren...
- Markus: Furthermore, I quit the Oathblades. My identity is now...
- Markus: A Gyee warrior!
- Markus yells at the spider queens
- Markus: Shadow bastards!
- Markus: As a warrior, I seek the blood of my enemies!!!
- Markus: GRRAAAHHHH!!
- With the roar of a lion, Markus launches his attack
- Nearby soldiers covering the retreat hear the ferocious cry
- They can see a blood-red cyclone rising above the trees
- Surrounded Soldier: Ah! Look!
- Surrounded Soldier: What is that?!
- Elderly Warrior: Red Cyclone ... Commander ...
- Elderly Warrior: Azria's berserker has returned!
- Elderly Warrior: Brothers we cannot give up, let's follow the Commander!
- Little remains of the spider queens near Markus
- Markus: Whew...
- Markus: Luckily, my head is worth quite a bit; I'm sure I can draw the enemy's firepower...
- Markus: This way, more warriors will be able to get out of Azria alive.
- Back in the command center, the last few seconds of Markus's message plays
- Markus: Don't worry about me, I brought flares...
- Markus: Once the Shadow Reaper's strength is confirmed, I'll notify you.
- Markus: With any luck we can take out the Shadow Reaper...
- Markus: When I get back, you owe me a drink!
- The crystal grows dark
- Will: Markus!!!
- Will: This is a suicide mission...
- Miles: General Will... go and retreat!
- Miles runs
- Will: Miles!!
- Jerren: ...
- Jerren: (Opens the bundle...)
- Jerren wears Markus's armor...
- Player: Ah! You are...
- Jerren: I am now the Commander of the Oathblades!
- Jerren: Oathblades... will not abandon any of their brothers!
- Jerren calls out from the command center
- Jerren: Oathblades warriors, do not forget your promise!
- Jerren: Oathblades swear to destroy all enemies of Gyee...
- Jerren: Our enemies are here...
- Jerren: Brothers, stand with me and fight! Rescue the Commander!
- Jerren takes off
- Player: ...
- Player: General Will, I can't stay...
- Will: Player, you...
- Player: Markus forgot something, I have to get it to him!
- Meanwhile...
- Markus faces off against a horde of Shadow monsters at the entrance to the corrupted tree
- Markus: (angry)
- Shadow Monster: How could anyone reach us here...
- Shadow Monster: Who are you?
- Markus: I'm your old man, Markus!
- Shadow Monster: Isn't the Oathblades Commander at the South Base? Huh...
- Markus: Open your stupid eyes and look!
- Markus attacks relentlessly
- Shadow Monster: Aghhhhh!
- Markus: Phew...
- Markus: Now, there's just...
- Inside the corrupted tree...
- Markus: Hya!
- The Last Shadow Reaper: Accept your fate!
- Markus: Argh!
- Markus reaches the final level and the last Shadow Reaper again calls the four smaller Shadow Reapers
- Markus: This again?
- The Last Shadow Reaper: You!... You just changed clothes...
- The Last Shadow Reaper: Why are you so much stronger?
- Markus: The courage and honor of Gyee, you have no idea what that means!
- Markus: Today, you will spill blood in Azria!
- The Last Shadow Reaper: Hm! You humans talk a lot of shit...
- The Last Shadow Reaper: I let you get away with it last time, but now...
- The Last Shadow Reaper: No one's coming to save you!
- Portals appear all around Markus
- Markus: ...
- Suddenly, a red haze emits from the portals
- Markus: Ah! Is this poisonous fog?
- The Last Shadow Reaper: You are strong for a human...
- The Last Shadow Reaper: In that case, why don't I corrupt you to our side?
- Markus: How shameless!
- The red haze gets stronger
- Markus: Woah... my head is dizzy, I can't even see the enemy...
- Markus: There's no going back...
- Markus: Shadows!!!
- One of the Shadow Reapers sneaks behind Markus
- Markus: !!
- Markus turns around and the Shadow Reaper's attack hits Markus square in the chest...
- Markus: Argh!!
- Markus: (Argh, how did it hit... right there...)
- The Last Shadow Reaper: It's over!
- Markus: Argh... this is not good...
- Markus: Cough! Cough!
- Markus: I... can't...
- Markus: Ugh...
- Markus drops to his knees
- His eyes close
- ???: Markus! Markus, pull yourself together!
- ???: Markus!!!
- Markus: Who... is calling me?
- ???: Argh!!
- ???: ...
- Markus: That sound, someone's in danger...
- Markus: I must...
- Player: Markus!!!
- Markus opens his eyes to see Player struggling to get to him through the red haze
- While the haze is still strong, it is no longer growing as the portals have disappeared
- Markus: This is!
- Player: Quick... take the Wheel of Fate...
- Player: Cough! Go!
- Markus: Player!
- Markus tried to get up, but his wound and painful old injuries kept him from standing...
- Markus crawls towards Player
- Markus: Player!!
- The Last Shadow Reaper: Look! Your reckless decision has killed him...!
- Three Shadow Reapers flank Player
- Player: Shut up!
- Player: The strength of the Wheel of Fate has shut down the poison portal, we guessed right!
- Player: His power is the portal!
- Player: Cough! He fears the power of the Wheel of Fate!
- Player: Take the Wheel of Fate, go!
- Markus: No, Player!
- Player looks at Markus with adoration
- Player: You're a great warrior, a hero of Gyee...
- Player: Never Isle is nothing without you!
- Player: Allow me to help you...
- The Last Shadow Reaper: Stop smiling like that, as if you aren't already dead people. It's sickening...
- The Shadow Reapers whip their tentacles at Player
- Player can barely stand
- Player: Argh... get away!
- Markus: No!
- Markus: Player...
- Markus: Player!!!
- Markus: Argh!
- A pure white aura begins to radiate out of Markus
- The light vaporizes the red haze
- Player: This is the kind of power Billy and Miles once used...
- Markus: I lost General Raven at Azria City and all my brothers...
- Markus: We cannot let the tragedy of Azria repeat itself!
- Markus: No, Player!
- Markus: Rrraghhhhhhhhhhh!
- The Wheel of Fate seems to resonate with the power in Markus...
- The Wheel of Fate flashes and the four smaller Shadow Reaper illusions disappear, revealing the last Shadow Reaper
- The Last Shadow Reaper: What! How could it be?
- The Last Shadow Reaper: The power of other reapers, is gone!
- Player: The strength of the Wheel of Fate... has shut down the hidden portal nearby...
- Player: He has lost the strength of... reinforcement!
- Markus: Roar!
- Markus: Die!!!
- Markus and Player battle the last Shadow Reaper
- The Last Shadow Reaper: A bunch of ants, even without help...
- The Last Shadow Reaper: I am still the messenger of the Shadowlord, the Shadow Reaper!
- Player: Argh... he's still incredibly powerful.
- Player's attacks do nothing but Markus draws blood with his axes
- The Last Shadow Reaper: Well, um... what... what are you?
- The Last Shadow Reaper: How can you actually hurt me?
- Markus: I am a Gyee Warrior!
- Markus: I am here to spill your blood!!!
- Markus chops off a tentacle
- The Last Shadow Reaper: Arghhhhh!
- The Last Shadow Reaper: I am a Shadow Reaper! You mere ant cannot defeat me!
- Markus: Reaper or not,
- Markus: If you dare stand in my way,
- Markus: You're dead!
- The Shadow Reaper proved no match to Markus's new-found power
- The Last Shadow Reaper: How could it be?
- The Last Shadow Reaper: No way!
- Markus: Hahhh!!
- Markus throws one of his axes right into the middle of the Shadow Reaper's forehead
- The Last Shadow Reaper: Puny humans, you really think you've won...
- The Last Shadow Reaper: No... you've attracted the attention of the Shadowlord!
- The Last Shadow Reaper: Destruction... Destiny...
- The Last Shadow Reaper: You... nowhere left to run...
- The Last Shadow Reaper: ...
- The Shadow Reaper lays silent
- Player: This guy... is definitely dead!
- Markus: Huff... huff...
- Markus: We won?
- Player: We won!
- Markus: Player...
- Markus: Uh...
- Markus looks down at the mixture of blood and scars that cover his body
- Player: What's up?
- Markus: My current look...
- Markus: Scary, huh?
- Player: (smiles)
- Player: How come?
- You hugged Markus from behind...
- Choice 2.1 - (Take the chance to squeeze Markus~)
- Player: (Playfully fondle his nipples across his chest...)
- Markus: Player?
- Player: Thank you for saving me...
- Markus: No... thank you, for saving us all...
- Choice 2.2 - (hold him gently...)
- Player: What a babe!
- Scene continues after choices
- Never Isle...
- Battle for New Azria' Victory Launch...
- A press conference is held with the commanders of the attack: Markus, Vundo, Will, Osiris and Jerren
- Reporters: Commander! Commander!
- Reporters: Commander! Commander!
- Markus: Go ahead, third from the left in the front...
- Reporter A: Thank you Commander, I'm a reporter for the Lake Bliss Times!
- Reporter A: Commander, what was the key to winning this war?
- Markus: Hmmm...
- Markus: The heart and bravery of our warriors!
- Markus: We are just flesh and blood, the Shadows were far stronger than us.
- Markus: But with the courage to defy death, we came out victorious!
- Reporter A: Gyee warriors are indeed heroes...
- Reporter A: But it is you who took down the Shadow Reaper and ended the war, right?
- Markus: No... it wasn't me who defeated the Shadow Reaper...
- Markus: It was the warriors who charged bravely into battle against the Shadows!
- Markus: It was our Oathblades and warriors of the Order of Equality, Fire Nexus and Alterland.....
- Markus: And Jerren... the second Commander of the Oathblades...
- Markus: They put their lives on the line to draw fire from the Shadow forces...
- Markus: It was only then that I had the chance to destroy the Shadow Reaper!
- Markus: They are the true heroes, we must honor them!
- Everyone was silent...
- Markus: Next question!
- Markus: Third row, first from the right!
- Reporter B: I'm a reporter for the Crossport Truth. The Battle of New Azria was a great victory...
- Reporter B: But breaking away from the Anti-Shadow Alliance has taken a huge toll on Never Isle...
- Reporter B: So Commander, if Never Isle is in trouble...
- Reporter B: What are you going to do about it?
- Markus: ...
- Markus: That's a good question.....
- Markus: Never Isle lost nearly 80% of its troops in the Battle of Azria...
- Markus: Never Isle's defenses are at their most vulnerable.
- Markus: But, do not forget,
- Markus: It was Gyee who vanquished the Shadows and prevailed at the Ruins of Azria!
- Markus: The Shadows are no match for Gyee...
- Markus: Do you think you guys can do it?
- Reporter B: What are you insinuating, Commander?
- Markus: I'm not insinuating anything.
- Markus: Just a word of warning for those who doubt Gyee...
- Markus: Better think before you act...
- Markus: Together, Gyee will crush any enemy that tries to threaten us!
- Markus: Even if one day I'm gone, Never Isle is gone...
- Markus: Gyee will live on!
- Markus: We've got time for one last question!
- Reporter C: I'm a reporter for the Luxium Daily News...
- Reporter C: Does the Commander have anything to say to the people of Luxium?
- Markus: Hmmm...
- Markus: No matter how difficult life gets, how dark the days become...
- Markus: Never give up hope!
- Markus: Calm yourself and find the way, there will always be an answer!
- Markus: If all else fails...
- Markus: Then come to Never Isle!
- People: Hahahaha!
- Some time later, at Hottie Bar...
- Player: The press conference is over?
- Markus: It's finally over!
- Markus: I'm not good at this kind of stuff!
- Player: But I think went pretty well~
- Markus: Oh, come on!
- Markus: I'm so embarrassed...
- Markus: By the way, since what the Wheel of Fate can do is really sensitive intel...
- Markus: For your safety, the Never Isle leaders wouldn't let me mention you to the press...
- Player: It doesn't matter, I don't care about that.
- Player: I'm happy with what I have here.
- You're looking at Markus...
- Markus: (smiles)
- Markus: I'm thirsty!
- Player: Here's the wine!
- Player: Let's get lit tonight!
- Markus: Yeah!
- A few moments later...
- Player: Markus, do you remember?
- Player: You said you'd get back to me when the battle was over.
- Markus: Uh...
- Markus: Of course I remember!
- Player: So, what do you say...
- Markus: (blushes)
- Markus leans in and kisses your cheek...
- Player: (surprised)
- Player: (smiles)
- Markus: I also like Player...
- Markus: Player, is the bath water ready?
- Markus: Maybe you could help me...
- Markus: ...tend to my wounds?
- Player: (smiles)
- Player: Always ready for you...
