Creed - Freelancer.

Searching the world for 'the thrill' that excites him.

A lazy genius who can't understand human nature. Will you help him?

Intro[]

If you could only use one word to describe Creed, you couldn't do better than 'genius.' When Creed was young, he passed Luxium's most difficult IQ test with a perfect score. In fact, his IQ score was beyond measure. Once he grew up, he became active in all of Luxium's academic fields, and his name can be found in all their journals. His research is always sure to cause a stir, no matter which field it's in. Although he's made outstanding contributions to such varied doctrines as Arcana, machinery, astronomy, and medicine, he has never invested more than six months of his time into any one of them. And once he's done with one, he moves onto the next, invariably causing a sensation there, as well.

Creed carries a scythe upon his back. His sturdy muscles and intimidating tattoos give people the impression that he's a mercenary from BlackFlame City, while his distinctive white hair, charming face, and handsome smile give them the impression that he's some kind of star. In truth, he's been both a mercenary and a star. When he announced that he was leaving the world of entertainment, it sent shockwaves through the business. When asked why he was leaving, he gave the same answer that he'd given when he'd quit other fields: "I'm bored... I want to find something new. Something...fun~"

Though sought after by the academic world, the entertainment industry, and even the black market, Creed is reportedly difficult to get along with. He never refers to the people he works with by their names, and there are even rumors that he threatens them with his scythe. When confronted with these rumors, Creed neither denied nor confirmed them, simply saying with a sly smile: "Don't worry. My scythe drinks only the blood of fools..."

Even when negative rumors abound, when the star shines bright enough, their flaws naturally disappear. Now, Creed is a freelancer making his way around Luxium, searching for something fun...

Views[]

Unlock views by leveling the intimacy of other gyees.

  • Billy: Bad temper and a terrible attitude! Gets angry all the time, and drives me crazy! But... well, even Turing defers to him when it comes to mechanical knowledge, and I hate it!
Billy's Intimacy reaches Lv.2 to unlock
  • Vundo: Creed? This name used to come up a lot in all kinds of top Arcane Research magazines, because his research was stunning! But I heard he left the field altogether several years ago. What a loss to all of us...
Vundo's Intimacy reaches Lv.4 to unlock
  • Gany: I've had the pleasure if serving him once when he was looking to buy a lyre. I heard the word 'freelancer' for the first time when I talked to him. He could go wherever he wanted, and experience things that I've never experienced. I've never considered freedom, but it sounds so... wonderful.
Gany's Intimacy reaches Lv.6 to unlock
  • Priapus: Creed is a special one among humans, because he has superhuman intelligence. It's really a curse to humans, because he is unable to experience the joy of common people, and they have trouble understanding his ideas. I don't know whether it's a blessing or a curse to Luxium, but if his existence threatens the sustainability of Luxium... I will end him myself!
Priapus's Intimacy reaches Lv.8 to unlock
  • Drago Miner: I think I've seen this person before in Calais' mansion. But it's been several years, and I could have been wrong...
  • Factory Owner: He was my employee once, and his technology brought huge profits to our business. But he left one day because he was bored, and we couldn't keep him even with a 10-million gold salary...
  • Senior Engineer: I was a nobody 3 years ago. Everyone at the trade show thought my inventions were terrible, and has no value. Creed said they were 'interesting', and gave me lots of suggestions that helped me reach where I am today. If I could, I would love to show him my inventions now!

Consolation Letter[]

Hey, this is Creed!

Like we agreed, I'll trade my technical knowledge for living on your airship. I took a walk around it, and honestly, it's a piece of scrap! But it IS better than most of the garbage out there, I'll give you that. The basic structure, power system, flux core and armor are all out of date, though. Maybe you think it's nice, but I can't stand it! I'll start with modifying the flux core to kill time! In theory, it'll be 130% more efficient once I'm done.

By the way, tell the guy with the bandana to stop bugging me!

Bath Drama[]

  • Being in a humid environment reduces blood flow to the brain. It is not good for thinking.
  • If you are bathing, then bath! Stop splashing around. That is so childish!
  • Where's my towel... fine, I don't care anymore!

Fave Hottie Slogan[]

Contest? Humph! Please donate all your votes to me in advance. I'm going to be the one to win, regardless.

Grand Meeting

-Part 1
Scene - Elysiann, at the entrance to the Luxium business summit
Elysiann...
Player catches up with Billy as he waits to enter the summit
Billy: Captain!
Shadowhunters Soldier A: Show your ID. You need to go through security checks.
Shadowhunters Soldier B: You will not be allowed to enter the summit carrying firearms, bows and arrows, hazardous substances such as flammable arcana products, and undeclared artifacts...
Player: I'm Player...
Billy: I'm Billy! Don't worry! We didn't bring anything dangerous...
Shadowhunters Soldier A: ...
Shadowhunters Soldier B: You can go in.
The two Shadowhunters step aside and Billy eagerly enters
Player: From the looks of your gear, you must be Shadowhunters...
Billy: Captain! Hurry up!
Player: Coming, coming!
Player enters and the Shadowhunters continue their guard
Shadowhunters Soldier B: It's so hot... how long have we been standing here?
Shadowhunters Soldier A: It's only been 3 hours. Hang in there. The summit hasn't even started yet!
Shadowhunters Soldier B: Ahh, I've had enough!
Sven walks up to the Shadowhunters
Sven: What's the matter?
Shadowhunters Soldier A: Sir!
Sven: Our regular training is much harder than this, isn't it?
Sven: Hang in there, otherwise, our allies will laugh at us!
Shadowhunters Soldier A: I thought the military is the focus of the Shadowhunters, isn't it?
Shadowhunters Soldier A: We are the Shadowhunters! Our mission is to annihilate the Shadow!
Shadowhunters Soldier A: Instead of being bodyguards for shady merchants!!
Shadowhunters Soldier B: Hey, man! Shut up.
Sven: You're right, but as Shadowhunter soldiers, we must obey the orders from high command!
Sven: This summit is very important. Many representatives from Shadowhunter's enterprises will be here.
Sven: It's important for us to keep them safe.
Shadowhunters Soldier A: We're leaving behind our brothers who're fighting on the frontline in Loong Mountain to protect these shady businessmen...
Shadowhunters Soldier A: Sir, this is not the reason I joined the Shadowhunters!
Sven: This is also not the reason for the Shadowhunters to keep you!
Sven: If you cannot obey orders, then don't be a Shadowhunter!
Shadowhunters Soldier A: ...
Sven: ...
Sven glares at the soldier
Sven: Go and take a break. I'll take it from here!
Shadowhunters Soldier B: Sir, no...
Sven: Go!
Shadowhunters Soldier B: Yes, sir!!
The two Shadowhunters leave
Shadowhunters Soldier B: You're such an idiot! How could you talk to Commander Sven like that?
Shadowhunters Soldier A: I didn't say anything wrong! And you were thinking the same thing too, weren't you?
Shadowhunters Soldier B: But you can't talk to Commander Sven like that!
Sven: ...
Sven: It's really... hot today.
Scene - Inside the summit
Meanwhile...
Billy: Captain.
Player: Billy, I rarely see you so excited...
Player: Isn't this the Luxium business summit?
Player: Are you planning to make an investment?
Billy: I don't have any money. How am I going to invest?
Billy: I'll stick with my machines!
Player: Then why are you so excited?
Billy: Come on, this is the Luxium business summit that happens only once every 4 years. It not only affects Luxium's future economy.
Billy: It's equally important for inventors, arcanists, pharmacists, and even mechanics!
Billy: Everyone wants to show their inventions or discoveries at the summit...
Billy: If you get recognition from your peers on this summit, wealthy entrepreneurs may invest in you or even commercialize your products!
Player: I see.
Player: Billy, so you've been making new inventions behind my back!
Player: You should've told me. I would've asked all my friends to come and support you!
Billy: Captain, you've overestimated me. My little gadgets are not good enough!
Billy: Today I brought you here because of Master Turing! Master Turing is going to demonstrate his latest invention!
Player: Turing!
Player: So that's why I haven't heard from him for so long. He's been making new inventions.
Billy: His booth is over there!
Player: Let's go!
A moment later, at Turing's booth.
Many people are gathered around Turing's booth to observe his new robots
Player spots a familiar large man in the crowd
Player: That's Colonel Duran!
Billy: Is he a friend of yours, Captain? I don't think I've met him before.
Player: He usually stays in BlackFlame City. I didn't expect to see him here in Elysiann.
Player: Billy, how about you go ahead and find Turing first? I'll go say hi to Duran.
Billy: Sure!
Player approaches Duran
Player: Colonel Duran!
Duran: Player...
Duran: Long time no see.
Player: I didn't expect to see you here, Colonel Duran...
Player: Are you a bodyguard?
Duran: No.
Duran: The business summit is held once every four years. It's a rare opportunity for me.
Duran: I'm looking for new technology to enhance my City Razer.
Player: Oh?
Duran: Weapons need to be updated with the times.
Duran: Player, what are you interested in here?
Player: I'm here to support my friend!
Duran: Your friend? Do you mean, the inventor of this robot?
Player: Yeah!
Duran: Your friend is amazing!
Duran: This robot is incredible. If it's commercialized for mass production...
Duran: Mercenaries like us will be having a hard time!
Player: !!
Duran: Player, I'll go check out the other booths.
Player: Okay! Bye! Colonel Duran.
Player goes to observe Turing's demonstration of his new robot
Robot: Prototype number 6, ready.
Turing: This robot is made of a new type of steel.
Turing: The armor, which is made of new materials, is 2.13 times stronger than any other armor in existence...
Turing: Next, my friend shall give us a demonstration...
Billy: Master, are you sure you want me to hit it hard?
Turing: Yes! Please hit the robot as hard as you can!
Billy: If you say so...
Billy: You asked for this, so here we go!
Billy: Ahhhhhhh!
Billy strikes Turing's robot with his pliers. The attack does not even leave a scratch.
Robot: System integrity check, integrity remaining, 100%.
Player: It is totally unharmed.
Billy: I hit it with all my strength!
Turing: Also, the flux coating on the surface of the robot can resist high-intensity arcana attacks.
A large blast of fire hits the robot but it appears undamaged
Player: !!
Player: Turing is determined to break his own invention.
Robot: System integrity check. Integrity remaining, 99.3%.
Onlooking Merchant A: Even with such a powerful arcana, it only suffered superficial damage.
Turing: In addition, the coating is highly resistant to Shadow flux.
Turing: According to the experiment data, this robot can effectively resist Shadow corruption.
Onlooking Merchant A: This invention may change Luxium's robot market.
Onlooking Merchant A: Mr. Inventor, I am willing to invest 200 thousand black dragonshards in your research!
Onlooking Merchant A: I'll invest 500 thousand black dragonshards!
Onlooking Merchant A: I can't let you take this! I'll give a million black dragonshards!
Turing: Well, actually...
Billy: That's great, Master!
Player: That's awesome, Turing!
Onlooking Merchant A: 1.2 million black dragonshards!
Onlooking Merchant A: 1.5 million black dragonshards!
A white-haired man carrying a scythe walks up to Turing's robot
???: ...
???: ...
Robot: Warning, system damage detected.
Robot: Automatic counterattack initiating.
Boom!
The robot suddenly collapses into pieces
Robot: System integrity...
Robot: ...
Player: What, what just happened?
Billy: A man holding a scythe just broke Master Turing's invention!
Turing: !!
???: It's so boring...
???: I saw the crowds here and I thought there was something fun...
???: And it turned out to be a piece of scrap metal.
Turing: Scrap metal...
Turing: ...
Turing looks pleased
Onlooking Merchant A: Hey... What's going on?
Onlooking Merchant A: That guy seems to have broken down the robot easily.
Onlooking Merchant A: How is that possible? He doesn't look that strong.
???: Humph, idiotic humans.
???: Only a pea-brain would invest millions of black dragonshards in this piece of scrap metal.
Billy: Excuse me, whose invention are you calling a piece of scrap metal?
The mystery man ignores Billy...
???: What a bore.
Turing: Hold on, please!
???: Yes?
Turing: I'm the inventor of this robot. My name is Turing.
Turing: Please tell me what its weaknesses are!
???: Weaknesses?
???: Hahaha! Does your invention have anything other than problems and flaws?
Player: Ugh, that's outrageous.
Billy: How dare you!
Turing: Billy, calm down.
Billy: Master!
Turing: The material I used is much stronger than the steel currently on the market.
Turing: Although it is not perfect, it's not something that could be broken easily.
Turing: But you destroyed it effortlessly.
???: The idea of making steel with 4% carbon and 3% earth flux is commendable.
???: It is also much harder than the garbage produced by ordinary humans.
???: But you didn't take the property of earth flux into consideration.
Turing: Among the six elements, earth flux has the highest homo-fusion ability and concentrated earth flux can easily form solid rocks.
Turing: At the same time, it has the worst hetero-fusion ability. It repels the flux of other elements.
Turing: Steel infused with earth flux has increased stiffness, hence better durability.
Turing: At the same time, it takes after earth flux's resistance to arcana attack.
Turing: I don't see any problems.
???: Are you sure?
???: So, with iron and carbon molecules, do you think earth flux would...
???: Be attracted to or repulsed by them?
Turing: Hmmm.
Turing: So you mean, due to earth flux's property, the structure of the steel becomes unstable when mixed with earth flux...
Turing: When its surface is damaged by something stronger, it will lead to the collapse of the entire structure...
Turing: I see!
???: You are not as stupid as you look...
???: Yes, I destroyed your robot easily with high-purity earth flux crystal.
Turing: Thank you so much!
Turing: May I have your name, please?
???: I'm Creed.
Turing: Thank you very much for your advice, Mr. Creed!
Creed: ...
Billy: Hold on!
Billy: The robot has a special coating on its surface!
Billy: Theoretically, the earth flux crystal could only damage the special steel, but not the coating.
Creed: ...
Creed: Why don't you clean out the rust under your bandana, idiot!
Creed leaves
Billy: The rust... under my bandana?
Player: Creed is saying that your brain is rusty.
Billy: Huh?
Turing: The coating on the robot's surface is very thin as it's designed to resist arcana.
Turing: You can even cut it open with a knife.
Billy: That... That's it?
Onlooking Merchant A: It seems that the inventor still needs more experience...
Onlooking Merchant A: I just saw a good invention. Let's go and check it out!
Onlooking Merchant A: Let's go!
Player: Hey! Don't go!
Turing: Player, let them go.
Player: Why do you look so happy even when all the investors are gone?
Turing: I wasn't trying to attract any investors. I was not going to sell my robot anyway.
Turing: I just came to this summit to hear the opinions of the others in the industry.
Turing: Mr. Creed's opinion is the most valuable investment I could get!
Turing: (Humming briskly.)
Billy: ...
Turing: Billy, I'm fine on my own. Why don't you go and walk around with Player!
Billy: Oh...okay...
A moment later...
Billy: ...
Player: Billy? Are you okay?
Billy: That Creed guy is such a jerk, isn't he?
Player: He really is.
Billy: But he... Sigh...
Billy: I've never seen master so happy...
Player: After all, Creed really is very knowledgeable.
Billy: It's so not fair!
Billy: He's so obnoxious!
Player: ...
Choice 1.1 - There are all kinds of people in the world.
Player: What can we do?
Billy: ...
Player: But...
Player: It doesn't matter what he said...
Player: In my opinion, your mechanical skill is still the best!
Player: Neither the airship and I can live without you.
Billy: ...
Billy: Captain... You don't have to say that. I'm not a child.
Billy: Let's go and check out more fun inventions!
Choice 1.2 - Just ignore him.
Player: It's not like you have to hang out with him...
Billy: Right...
Billy: Haha, let's go. Let's not talk about him!
Scene continues after choices
Player: ...
Player is glad that he could cheer up Billy
Scene - Elsewhere in the summit
A moment later...
Billy: Wow, the flux engine of this car is so powerful!
Player: Oh?
Billy: This engine's design is completely new!
Billy: It is ingenious. It reduces the volume of the engine but enhances the mixing ratio and the volume of the flux.
Billy: Its power output is significantly increased.
Billy: Whoever designed this is definitely a genius!
Player: Is that so?
???: Another piece of scrap metal.
Billy: ???
Player: I have a bad feeling about this.
Billy and Player see Creed talking to the two inventors of the engine
Creed: This thing is perfect for committing suicide.
Player: It really is him.
Creed: The idea is not bad, but enlarging the flux mixing space will increase the probability of high energy flux coming into contact with air.
Creed: It can even cause a massive explosion!
Creed: This engine's flux mixing volume and ratio are so high...
Creed: Is Drago Mining going into the suicide consultancy industry now?
Creed: It actually suits you.
Engine Inventor A: Hahaha, I have to hand it to you, Lord Creed. You could decipher the problem with just one glance.
Engine Inventor A: It's been a long time, hasn't it? Lord Creed!
Player: (Lord Creed? Do they know each other?)
Creed: Don't call me that!
Engine Inventor A: I'm sorry.
Creed: What happened to you? Do you have dementia or something?
Creed: I can't believe you missed that!
Engine Inventor A: Of course we know about it. This is just a prototype.
Engine Inventor A: In the original design, there are separators in the flux chamber to reduce the chance of explosion.
Creed: Separators?
Creed: That's a good idea! Why is it not on this prototype?
Engine Inventor A: Sigh. Flux insulation material is very expensive.
Engine Inventor A: You know how things are in Drago right now.
Creed: ...
Creed: Ha!
Creed: The people in charge are idiots, and now they have to keep a bunch of morons.
Creed: Hahahahaha!
Creed: They deserve it!
Engine Inventor A: ...
Creed: Staying in Drago Mining is an insult to your ability.
Engine Inventor A: I, I've been working there for more than 30 years. This job means a lot to me...
Creed: Means a lot to you? Humph...
Creed: What a bore!
Engine Inventor A: ...
Creed walks away
Engine Inventor A: If you come back, Lord Creed, maybe Drago can...
Engine Inventor A: Yeah...
Player: ...
Billy: Oh... So enlarging the flux chamber can lead to explosions...
Billy: That Creed guy, he's brilliant.
Player: Let's go check out the others!
Billy: Hmm...
Player and Billy leave just as two Shadowhunters approach the two engine inventors
Player and Billy bump into Takashi
Takashi: Player!
Player: Takashi?
Player: I've seen so many Shadowhunters today.
Player: Are you here to look at interesting inventions as well, Takashi?
Takashi: We're here to provide security support.
Player: Security support?
Takashi: The owners of the Shadowhunter's enterprises and some important figures will attend this summit.
Takashi: That booth behind you belongs to a Shadowhunter enterprise. It's also one of our prime protection targets.
Player: I see...
Exhibitor: Go to hell, you scum soldiers!!
Player: Looks like someone's fighting over there.
Takashi: What's going on?
Sometime earlier...
The engine inventors and Shadowhunters are arguing
Exhibitor: The exhibitors have to put up with the heat too!
Exhibitor: Why should the cooling equipment be given to you?
Shadowhunters Soldier: Because we are the Shadowhunters!
Shadowhunters Soldier: We came all the way from Loong Mountain to this hell hole for you people!
Exhibitor: Shadowhunters? So what?
Exhibitor: If you don't want to be here, go back to Loong Mountain! No one ever invited you!
Shadowhunters Soldier: What did you say?
More exhibitors and Shadowhunters join their respective sides
Exhibitor: Without Drago Mining and the other Shadowhunter enterprises, who do you think is going to pay for the gear that you're wearing?
Exhibitor: Who's gonna pay you? Without us, you can't even afford to eat!
Shadowhunters Soldier: Humph!
Shadowhunters Soldier: You people live in luxury and safety.
Shadowhunters Soldier: Every day, my brothers and I risk our lives to kill the Shadow! We could die at any time!
Shadowhunters Soldier: We protect you with our lives!
Shadowhunters Soldier: You should feel honored that...
Shadowhunters Soldier: You can contribute to the Shadowhunters at all!!
Even more people join sides
Exhibitor: Honored? Don't make me laugh!
Exhibitor: Drago Mining pays billions every year to support scum soldiers like you!
Exhibitor: Without the Shadowhunters, we would've long been the largest mining company in Luxium!
Shadowhunters Soldier: Humph...
Shadowhunters Soldier: You need to stay alive to make money!
Shadowhunters Soldier: Without the protection of the Shadowhunters, all of you would've been killed by the Shadow!
Exhibitor: Go to hell! You scum soldier!!
Exhibitor: Humph! The mercenaries in BlackFlame City are much stronger and cheaper than you lot! And they have a better attitude!
Shadowhunters Soldier: Excuse me?!
Takashi: Listen, all Shadowhunters!
Takashi: Attention!
Takashi, Player and Billy come to break up the argument
Takashi: Silence!
Shadowhunters Soldier: Hmm...
Exhibitor: Hey! Soldier scum, has the cat got your tongue?
Creed joins them
Creed: Idiots! Can you give it a break?
Creed: You're ruining my day here!
Angry Shadowhunter: This guy...
Angry Exhibitor: Let's get him!
Player: Creed...
Takashi: Shadowhunter warriors! Return to your post!
Takashi: Now!
Suddenly, the sound of a gunshot rings through the air and one of the arguing Shadowhunters falls to the ground
Soldier who got shot: (Sobbing)
Angry Shadowhunter: Someone fired!
Angry Shadowhunter: How dare you shoot at us, you shady hustlers! Brothers, get ready to fight!
Angry Exhibitor: Such a lame trick...
Angry Exhibitor: They're just trying to frame us!
Angry Exhibitor: Get our mechanical guards ready!
Angry Exhibitor: Let's fight these thugs!
Angry Exhibitor: Aargh!
Takashi: Shadowhunters! I order you to stop right now!
The furious roars have drowned out Takashi's voice.
Creed: Humans are so easily provoked.
Creed: Humph! Idiots!
Player: Now is not the time to judge whether they're idiots or not. They're really going to fight!
Takashi: We have to stop them!!
Duran drops in
Duran: Let me help!
Takashi: Please, be careful not to harm anyone.
Duran: Don't worry!
Player: Okay!
Creed: Pay the price for your stupidity!
Player, Creed, Takashi and Duran attempt to break up the fight
Creed: A bunch of idiots! You are just being used!
Angry Exhibitor: Who is this guy?
Angry Exhibitor: Get him!
Player: Urgh, Creed! Stop fanning the flames!
The fight continues
Takashi: Shadowhunters, stop it, right now!
Angry Shadowhunter: Commander Mad Ox, you are a Shadowhunter yourself. Why aren't you on our side?
Takashi: Our enemies are the Shadow, not our ally enterprises!
Angry Shadowhunter: They hurt our brothers first!
Angry Shadowhunter: If Commander Sven is here, he would be on our side!
Angry Shadowhunter: Commander Mad Ox, you leave me no choice!
Takashi: Humph!
The team manage to slow the fighting temporarily
Angry Exhibitor: Hum... The Shadowhunters I can understand, but why are these other guys so strong?
Angry Shadowhunter: Why are our officers on their side?
Angry Exhibitor: Blasted! Let's give them all we've got!
Angry Shadowhunter: Do it! Don't let them hurt our brothers again!
Player: They're coming again!
Creed: This is so boring.
???: Everyone, stop!!!
Sven enters with three important-looking people
Duran: ...
Duran looks angry
Player: Huh? They are?
Takashi: Lord Calais, who's in charge of Drago Mining, and Lord Erwin, who's in charge of the Shadowhunters transportation enterprises.
Takashi: And Lord Derrick, the mayor of Westhold.
Duran: Three out of the six heads of the Shadowhunter families are here.
Angry Exhibitor: Lord Calais! Lord Erwin!
Angry Shadowhunter: Commander Sven!
Calais: What the heck are you doing? Who's managing the exhibits?
Angry Exhibitor: Lord... Lord Calais.
Calais: Go back to your post now!
Derrick: Takashi, Sven, tell me what's happening here.
Sven: Lord Derrick, I only just arrived after hearing the news.
Takashi: Sorry Sir, I have neglected my duty!
Derrick: Come on, take your soldiers away and resume security!
Derrick: Make sure those who started the fight are held responsible!
Sven: Yes, sir!
Takashi: Yes, sir!
Takashi: Everyone, get in pairs and help the casualties!
Sven: Everybody, assemble in the city hall square!
Angry Shadowhunter: Yes, sir!
After everyone leaves, a man in Shadowhunter armor talks to Player, Billy, Duran and Creed
Derrick: Terribly sorry. I hope this will not affect your visit.
Creed: Humph!
Creed: Boring.
Creed leaves
Duran: ...
Duran: Now that this has been resolved.
Duran: Player, I'll go check out the other booths.
Player: Sure! Thank you for your help, Colonel Duran.
Duran leaves, looking displeased
Billy: Fortunately, it did not turn into a full-scale conflict.
Billy: Captain, let's go check out the other areas!
Player: Oh, alright!
Player: (Creed and Duran's attitude towards Derrick... seems a little bit strange.)
The rest of the summit proceeds smoothly.
All the key businesses signed an important trade deal together.
Luxium's economy is moving towards a bright future.
Scene - Elysiann, at night
The business summit comes to an end.
The exhibitors pack up and prepare to leave Elysiann.
Billy: With the trade deal today, the prices of many industrial products will be reduced!
Billy: Our airship's maintenance cost will be a lot lower in the near future!
Billy: Fantastic!
Player: ...
Billy: Captain?
Player: Yes?
Billy: You've been acting weird since the Shadowhunters conflict.
Billy: Now that the conflict has been resolved, don't worry about it too much.
Choice 2.1 - Someone provoked the conflict on purpose.
Player: Clearly, someone provoked the conflict behind the scenes.
Player: Although we settled the conflict and foiled the secret plot.
Player: However, will they really give up so easily?
Billy: I don't know.
Billy: But if they wanted to cause trouble...
Billy: Wouldn't the signing ceremony be the best time?
Player: Hmm.
Player: That's true!
Player: Maybe I am just overly worried.
Billy: I think so.
Choice 2.2 - The Shadowhunters' internal issues are more serious than the conflict itself.
Billy: The Shadowhunters' internal issues? I thought it was a misunderstanding.
Player: I wish it was only a simple misunderstanding.
Player: It's the Shadowhunter warriors on one side against the employees of the Shadowhunter enterprises.
Player: The fight shows that they've resented each other for a long time.
Billy: Oh?
Player: Someone was stirring up the conflict indeed.
Player: But that was just the beginning.
Player: The real problem could be catastrophic!
Billy: Well, shall we ask Takashi or Sven about this?
Player: Hmm...
Player: They must be busy right now. We'd better not give them any more trouble.
Conversation continues after choices
Player: It's getting late. Let's go back!
Billy: Sure!
Boom!!!
The force of a large explosion stuns Billy and Player
Billy: Huh?
Player: What the?
Player: Did something explode?
Billy: Gosh, Captain, look!
Player: !!
Player and Billy see fires engulfing the summit
Elsewhere...
Creed: This is the way to...
Creed: (Scoffs)
Creed: Idiots!
Creed runs towards the fires

Airship, bridge...
Billy: Captain! Captain!!
Billy: Captain!!!!
Player: What's up, Billy?
Billy: Why is Creed on our airship?
Creed: Because this human wouldn't sell the airship to me.
Player: Billy, Creed will be joining our team temporarily!
Creed: Join your team?
Creed: To be clear, I'm just temporarily renting your airship!
Player: Whatever.
Billy: Huh?
Billy: I object!!
Player: Billy, you are a senior member of this airship. Act like one!
Billy: Who wants to be this guy's senior?
Creed: Hey! Someone get rid of this noisy moron!
Creed: Now let's discuss the rent!
Player: Don't worry about the rent, Creed. I've got an idea!
Player: While you're staying on the airship, you can work on maintenance with Billy!
Creed: What? With bandana pliers?
Billy: What?!
Billy: Captain! I object!
Billy: I... I am going on strike!!
Billy storms out of the airship.
Creed: Perfect.
Player: Earn your keep by working!
Creed: Taking my precious skills and knowledge in exchange for rent.
Creed: You devious human!
Player: How... is that devious?
Creed: Fine.
Creed: Deal.

-Intimacy Level 5
Hottie Bar, Airship...
Creed: Human!
Creed: Hey! Human!
Creed: Take me to Eversun! Now!
Player: What? Are you talking to me?
Creed: Of course... who else is there on the airship except for you?
Player: Well... there's Billy and Kitty...
Creed: Do you mean... bandana moron and kitten?
Player: K... kitten?
Player: Hey, they have names! They are called Billy and Kitty!
Player: And I have a name too! I'm Player!
Creed: Player...
Creed: No, it's too time-consuming to remember names.
Player: Time-consuming?
Player: But... this is so rude!
Player: Addressing someone by name is just basic manners!
Creed: Such a pain...
Creed: I only have these many brain cells...
Creed: I don't want to waste my brain cells on your... meaningless... names and respect!
Creed: Humans are so dumb because they waste too much time remembering this useless garbage!
Creed: Listen, human! I have to go to Eversun, now!
Player: ...
Player: This is my airship. You must follow my rules while you are staying here.
Player: If you want to go to Eversun, sure! Call me by my name and make a formal request!
Creed: Urgh...
Creed: Fine...
Player: ...
Creed: ...
Creed: Uh...
Creed: Human, what's your name again?
Player: Player...
Creed: Humph! Take me to Eversun... please...
Player: Creed, you can't remember people's names, can you?
Creed: Im-impossible! I remember all the machinery parts and arcana facts like the back of my hand!
Creed: I... I just don't want to waste time remembering these irregular words!!
Player: *Puff*...
Player: Okay, fine. I'll take you to Eversun.
Creed: Anyway, it's not that I don't remember! I just don't want to remember!
Creed: Devious human...
Player: Fine... why am I devious again?

-Intimacy Level 6
Airship, shared bath...
Player: Phew, I've finally finished my chores today...
Player: Ahhh... I think my liver is going to give out before I return to Earth.
Player: Let me take a bath and relax.
A few moments later...
Player: Ahhhh.
Player: The temperature of the water is just right. And this extra-large bathtub where I can stretch my legs.
Player: C'est la vie.
Player: Ohh... I wish there's someone here with me.
Just as you finish your sentence...
You hear footsteps at the door.
Player: Oh? Who is that?
The door opens.
Creed walks in casually.
Creed: Well... if Derrick...
Player: Woaaa! Creed! What are you doing here?
Creed: Hmm!
Creed: According to the airship rental contract, I'm allowed to go anywhere.
Creed: Wait... human, what are you doing here?
Creed: !!
Suddenly there's a flicker in Creed's eye.
Creed: And... why are you naked?
Creed: Are you an exhibitionist?
Player: This is the bathroom.
Player: Do you bathe with your clothes on?
Creed: Bathroom?
Player: Yes! This is the public bath!
Creed looks around.
Creed: Why am I here?
Creed: Human, I tend to walk around when I'm thinking.
Creed: I don't know where I will end up next time. Make sure you lock your door!
Player: ...
Creed turns to walk away.
Choice 1.1 - (Invite Creed to join in the bath...)
Player: I mean... since you are here already, why don't you join me?
Player: Maybe you'll get better ideas in the bath.
Creed turns around and looks at you.
Creed: No, this place is too hot and humid. My blood will flow downwards.
Creed: Walking is better for brain function.
With that, Creed turns around and walks out of the bathroom.
Player: What an oddball...
Choice 1.2 - (Go and lock the door...)
Player: I know!
You get up to lock the door.
Creed suddenly stops and you almost bump into each other.
Creed: Oh right, human...
Creed: What... what are you doing?
Player: Locking the door, as you said.
Player: What are YOU doing?
Creed: Urh... nothing!!
Then Creed quickly leaves the bathroom.
Player: What a strange man...

-Intimacy Level 7
Airship...
Billy: Captain!
Billy: Creed's stuff is all over the place in the bathroom!
Player: Huh? All over the place?
Player: Creed may be an eccentric character, but he's usually quite tidy.
Billy: This is his!
Billy: Here you go!
Billy hands you an old photo.
In the photo, there is a woman and a boy in a park.
Player: How do you know this belongs to Creed?
Billy: His grey hair and that annoying look on his face...
Billy: If it's not Creed, who else could it be?
Player: Haha, that's true! He's actually quite cute.
Player: Well, the person next to him is...
Player: !!
Billy: I think that's his mother.
Player: Where's Creed?
Billy: The airship's record shows that he just left the airship. He's probably doing some shopping in Never Isle.
Player: Okay...
Billy: What's the matter, Captain?
Player: Nothing. I just want to return this photo to him.
Player: This must be important to him.
Scene - Hottie Bar
After some time, at Hottie Bar...
Creed: I finally found the right metal.
Creed: With this...
Player walks up to Creed
Player: Creed, wait a minute!
Creed: Oh, hey, human.
Creed: What's up?
Player: I think this is yours, isn't it?
You hand the photo to Creed.
Creed: !!
Creed snatches the photo.
After a moment of hesitation, he drops the photo to the ground.
Creed: It's mine, but it's just garbage.
Player picks the photo back up
Player: ...
Player: It must be very important to you.
Player: The photo is from at least ten years ago. The surface is yellowing and the corners are worn out.
Player: You obviously cherish this photo a lot and look at it from time to time.
Player: Then don't leave it lying around the place.
Creed: Hmm!!
Creed: Okay...
Creed takes the photo and puts it in his pocket.
Player: The woman in the picture is Calais, isn't she?
Player: Seems like... you were very close.
Creed: Not at all!
Player: ...
Creed: Humph... What a nosy human!
Creed: From your face, I can tell you're not going to let me go without telling you something...
Creed: Calais...
Creed: Is my biological mother.
Player: !!
Player: You said you are from the Calais family.
Player: I didn't know you are the young master of the Calais family!
Creed: Calais... is my shame!
Player: How can you say that? She's your mother!
Creed: She is just a stupid, timid, unintelligent creature who is only able to see short-term profits!
Creed: Not just her, all humans are like this!!
Player: What happened between you?
Creed: ...
Creed: Back then...
Creed: I just wanted to restore the glory of the family.
Creed: You know? Thirty years ago, the Calais family's Drago Mining was the largest mining firm in Luxium.
Creed: But now, Drago Mining is only ranked fourth.
Creed: Not only the Calais family but also the Erwin family, who's also one of the six Shadowhunter families.
Player: What happened?
Creed: In the Shadowhunters, the military is prioritized above everything!
Creed: In recent decades, the Shadowhunters have been expanding their military forces and hiring new recruits.
Creed: The increased military spending is contributed by the Calais and the Erwin families.
Creed: The two families suffered greatly from the military spending being doubled.
Creed: They are forced to hand over large amounts of business development funds to the two military families, the Ackley's and the Bandler's, as military expenditure.
Creed: It leads to the deterioration of our family business over the years.
Player: Well, can't they make it clear to the Ackley's and the Bandler's and object to the military expansion?
Creed: Ha! It's not that easy.
Creed: Deep down, the Ackley's and the Bandler's look down upon non-military families like us.
Creed: I don't blame them. This is the 'tradition' that's been passed down within the Shadowhunters for thousands of years
Creed: Those two muscle heads think about nothing but honor and vow to end the war with the Shadow in their lifetime.
Creed: Plus Derrick, that conniving scoundrel in the middle...
Creed: No one would listen to the Calais and the Erwin family!
Player: Surely... You must've tried to defend yourselves, haven't you?
Creed: Yes.
Creed: 18 years ago, the Calais's and the Erwin's couldn't take it anymore. They planned a rebellion together.
Creed: They hired nearly 1000 mercenaries from BlackFlame City and planned to raid the Ackley's and the Bandler's family manors, thus gain control of the Shadowhunters.
Creed: In the end, the plan got discovered by Derrick.
Creed: Under Derrick's coercions and threats, they betrayed their mercenaries...
Creed: They sent their mercenaries into the Shadowhunter's traps...
Creed: The mercenaries were completely wiped out. Derrick told everyone that the mercenaries were Shadow. He packaged the betrayal as a great victory for the Shadowhunters.
Player: !!
Creed: After that, the Ackley's noticed the Calais family's conspiracy.
Creed: Back then, the head of the Calais family, which was my grandfather, chose to kill himself to show his loyalty, in order to protect the family.
Creed: My biological mother inherited the position of the head of the Calais family.
Creed: On one hand, my mother needs to mediate with the Shadowhunters military to reduce expenditure.
Creed: On the other hand, she needs to run the family business and revitalize the family.
Creed: Although I was only interested in mechanical arcana back then, I could feel her pressure.
Creed: I wanted to help her!
Creed: After all, among all the idiots at home, I could get along with my mother and two other mechanical engineers.
Creed: 8 years ago, I proposed a plan to revitalize our family to my mother.
Creed: A plan where we slowly dissolve the Ackley's, the Bandler's, and the Derrick's from the inside.
Creed: A plan to bring glory back to the Calais family.
Player: That's amazing!
Creed: However, after she saw my plan, she not only disagreed with it but lectured me seriously.
Creed: She even burned my plan on the spot.
Creed: I can understand her actions now. If the plan got exposed, the Calais family would've been doomed.
Creed: However, if we don't fight back and just go along, the Calais family won't last very long either.
Creed: Because of her stupidity and cowardice, Calais chose to let the family die slowly.
Creed: Somehow, Derrick found out about my plan. And he questioned Calais about it.
Creed: Calais was so scared that she immediately called a family meeting to discuss the matter!
Creed: The old farts in the family were afraid of Derrick. They feared that history will repeat itself.
Creed: So they decided to kick me out of the Calais family!
Creed: And Calais was the first one to vote in favor of the expulsion.
Player: !!
Player: Creed, I'm sorry to hear that.
Creed: Why are you apologizing?
Player: I just don't know what to say after hearing what you've been through.
Creed: No need.
Creed: I don't want to stay in a family that is boring and stupid!!
Creed: But I should thank Calais for 'kicking me out.'
Creed: It is so much more fun out here than at home.
Creed: So much more.

-Intimacy Level 8
Hottie Bar...
Miles: How dare you! Take this!
Hachi: Ranged-attack...
Hachi: I've jammed Miles's gun! Brothers, go!
Hachi: Capture Miles!
Bloodrunners: Yes, sir!
Oathblades Warrior: We'll cover you, brother Wolfie!
Oathblades Warrior: Let's go!!!
Hachi: Huh... have I been captured?
Miles: Hachi, surrender yourself!
Hachi: Hehe, this is just the beginning!
Player: Hey!
Miles: Hmm! When did you...
You pour the bucket of water on Miles's head!
Miles: Ooah!
Billy: Miles is completely soaked! The Bloodrunners got the first round!
Miles: Dang! I was ambushed!
Hachi: Hehe! In General Will's words...
Hachi: Distract your enemies!
Miles: Fine, you won this round! Now it's 1 all!
Miles: In the next round, Player will be on the Oathblade's team!
Hachi: Come on! I've seen through your little tricks!
Hachi: You can't win even with Player on your team!
Miles: Ha! You are bluffing!
Miles: Oathblades! Listen, don't let them get a single point from now on!
Oathblades Warrior: Sure thing.
Hachi: Bloodrunners! Show them what we've got!
Bloodrunners: Hooyah!!
Billy: Everyone, return to your position. The next round...
Suddenly, Creed walks into the Hottie Bar angrily.
Creed: I am thinking!
Creed: Can you be quiet?!
Player: Creed?
Billy: Ehh...
Player: Creed, we are having a pool party today.
Creed: Stop screaming! You're just playing with water!
Miles: Player, who is this?
Player: He's a friend. His name is Creed, He's been living on my airship.
Creed: A bunch of naked guys splashing around...
Creed: Ridiculous. What's so fun about that?
Creed: The stupidity of humans... incomprehensible!
Billy: Hey! Creed, watch your mouth!
Hachi: Billy, there's no need to get into a fight.
Hachi: If he's Player's friend, he's my friend too.
Creed: I am no friend of that human. We are just...
Hachi jumps out of the pool and picks up Creed...
Creed: Hey! What are you doing?
Hachi: A bunch of naked guys splashing around.
Hachi: It's called playing with water! It's fun!
Hachi: Join us!
Creed: You'll regret it. Put me down!
Hachi: Brothers, let our new friend experience the fun of splashing water!
Bloodrunners: Yeah!
Creed: What... What are you doing?!
In no time... Creed is stripped down to his underwear...
With Creed in his arms, Hachi jumps into the pool.
Creed: Whoa!!
Player: !!
Billy: Hahahaha!
Miles: (smiles)
Hachi: Hehe! It's fun, isn't it?
Creed: You...
Creed: Will pay for...
Before Creed can finish his sentence, Miles shoots Creed in the face with a water gun.
Miles: The rules are simple. Whoever gets soaked loses.
Creed: Oh yeah? Come on! All of you together!
Creed: I'll kick all of your asses!
Hachi: Haha, our new friend is getting serious!
Hachi: Bloodrunners!
Bloodrunners: Yes!
Miles: Oathblades!
Oathblades Warrior: Yes!
Creed: You've lost!
As he speaks, Creed uses water arcana to create a huge wave.
Everyone, including Billy, is turned upside down in the pool
Creed: Hahahahaha!!
Player: !!
Billy: 1... 1... 1 : 0!
Billy: I'm the referee... Why did you...
Miles: That was an instakill...
Hachi: That's crazy, man...
Hachi: Brother Miles, the newcomer is very strong. Let's join forces!
Miles: Sure! Let's join forces... and hold him underwater!!
Creed: This game had ended the moment I joined!
Creed begins another arcana attack.
Everyone: Woaaaa!
Player: I... I surrender...
Billy: I told you, I'm the referee!
Creed: Hahahaha!
Creed: Come again!

-Intimacy Level 9
Airship, Hottie Bar...
Player: I beg your pardon? Are you asking me to pretend to be your boyfriend?
Creed: Keep it down... Yes, that is what I said!
Creed: Pretend to be my boyfriend and go on a date with me!
Player: But... Why?
Creed: I found one of Derrick's informants. He works in a lover's bar.
Creed: If we can track him, we may find some clues about Derrick!
Player: But why me?
Creed: Among the humans that I know, you have the strongest willpower, and also acceptable intelligence and combat ability.
Creed: You also witnessed the fire at the summit.
Creed: You are my only option.
Creed: What do you think? Will you join me?
Player: I'm flattered. Hearing you say that, I suppose I have to go now.
Player: Let's go!
Sometime later, BlackFlame City...
Player: Creed... Do you know what a boyfriend is?
Creed: Someone to perform amplexus with on a regular basis?
Player: Huh?
Player: No!
Player: Lovers have to be intimate with each other!
Creed: Intimate...?
Player: Come on! Wrap your left arm around my waist! Let me lean on you!
Creed: Erhh... Extensive contact with another person's skin increases the risk of infection.
Player: Hey, cut the nonsense! Let's walk into the bar like this!
Moments later, inside the bar...
Creed: I saw the target!
Derrick's Informant: Hello, handsome. How are you today?
Derrick's Informant: What would you like to drink?
Creed throws a bag of money to Derrick's informant.
Derrick's Informant: Wow! This is a lot of money! Do you want to try my special service?
Creed: I just want to ask you about someone!
Creed: I'll pay you double afterward!
Derrick's Informant: Wow! I wonder who is so important?
Creed: Derrick!
Derrick's Informant: !!!
Derrick's Informant: Oh... I see...
Derrick's Informant: ...
Derrick's Informant: Come with me. This is not the place to talk!
Creed: Okay.
Derrick's informant takes you through the crowded dance floor.
In the middle of the dance floor, he suddenly speeds up and slips through the dancing crowd.
Player: Go after him!!
After crossing the dance floor, the informant appears at the bar's back exit.
You go through the back door and arrive in a dirty alleyway.
Derrick's informant is at the end of the alleyway.
Creed: What a pain!
During the chase, a pipe above you suddenly collapses.
Unable to react in time, your left leg gets injured by the falling rubble.
Creed: !!
Creed: Are you okay?
Player: I'm fine... But I can't run anymore.
Player: You go after the informant!
Creed: Hmm...
Suddenly, more than a dozen massive thugs appear around you.
Player: This must be a trap set by Derrick's informant!
Player: Creed, you go after him and I'll deal with these people!
Creed looks around.
Creed: Don't be silly. There are nearly twenty of them. You won't be able to handle them all!
Creed takes out his scythe.
Creed: You'll regret standing in my way! Idiots!
Later, in the Hottie Bar on the airship...
Creed bandages your injured leg.
Player: Creed...
Creed: What?
Player: Why did you stay to help me?
Player: Derrick's informant may disappear forever.
Creed: It doesn't matter. There will always be a way.
Creed: What? Do you think I would leave you alone to go after the informant?
Player: Hmmm...
Player: Humans are just tools to you, right?
Creed: Ha! But I don't have the habit of throwing away my tools!
Creed: So many people died during the fire at the summit.
Creed: I don't want to put you in harm's way again.
Creed: We only live once... Even I can't resurrect anyone.
Creed: Cherish your life!

-Intimacy Level 10
Airship, Hottie Bar...
Billy: *Sigh*
Player: What's up?
Billy: One of the transmission compressors in the airship power system has broken down.
Player: Power system?
Player: Erm? Are we going to crash?
Billy: No, Captain, relax.
Billy: There are 12 transmission compressors. This only affects the acceleration slightly.
Player: That's good.
Player: Well, Billy, why don't you fix it?
Billy: That's the problem
Billy: The transmission compressor we are using is an older version, they don't make them anymore.
Billy: This compressor is a consumable item. No one fixes it.
Billy: And if we don't fix it... the airship will have to be scrapped in half a year.
Player: Scrapped?
Player: No way!
Billy: To solve the problem, our only choice is to replace the entire power system, which will take at least two months!
Billy: The airship will be out of service during that time.
Player: Fine...
Player: Why don't... we ask Creed?
Billy: What?
Billy: No!
Player: I know you hold grudges against him.
Player: But, let's give it a go. After all, we still need the airship.
Billy: ...
Billy: Fine.
Billy: I don't think there's anything he can do about it.
Billy: Other than replacing the power system, there is no other way!
Player: Come on, let's just see what he says.
Moments later, inside Creed's room...
Creed is tinkering with a mechanical part.
Player: Hey, Creed! Can you do us a small favor?
Creed ignores you.
Billy: Please, we need your help!
Creed impatiently stops what he's doing.
Creed: What is it?
Billy: One of the airship's transmission compressors is broken, the part has been discontinued.
Billy: They don't stock the part anymore.
Billy: Creed, do you have any ideas?
Creed: Show me.
Billy hands the broken compressor to Creed.
Creed: Oh wow... I can't believe your guys are still using this old junk from Juan Machinery.
Billy: We didn't have a choice. Before Juan Machinery was acquired, most of the mechanical parts in Luxium were made by them.
Billy: Creed, can you fix it?
Creed: Piece of cake!
Billy: !! But this is no longer available on the market.
Creed: Bandana pliers, what you see is only the surface.
Creed puts the compressor on the table and starts cutting it with a machine.
Creed: Before they were acquired, Juan Machinery monopolized the patents of most of the mechanical parts in Luxium.
Creed: They usually degrade their new products before releasing them on the market.
Player: Degrade? Why?
Creed: People will keep buying new products if they are not durable. They make more money when people keep buying them.
Creed: Like this compressor, in order to reduce its service life, they deliberately placed a short-circuiting device inside.
Creed: After a certain time, the device will short-circuit itself and burn, making it unusable.
Creed: Which means...
Creed cuts off the short-circuiting device...
and pass the compressor to Billy.
Creed: Just replace the internal circuit!
Billy: R... Really?
Creed: Don't use a machine part right away. Get a better understanding of its history, origin, and manufacturer.
Creed: That will make you a qualified mechanic.
Billy: Un... Unbelievable!!
Billy: Thank you! I'll replace it now!
Billy runs out of the room.
Player: ...
Player smiles
Creed: Anything else?
Player: Nope...
Player: I saw your gentle side.
Creed: G... Gentle...
Creed: Don't get me wrong!
Creed: I just wanted you to leave me alone! I still have an experiment to do!

Late at night...
The oasis near Westhold...
An unexpected Shadow attack disrupts the peace of Westhold.
Thanks to the brave Shadowhunter warriors, the Shadow's scheme is once again thwarted.
But no one knows that even greater darkness is on its way...
Creed: Horn dude! Be quiet!
Player: ...
Duran: ...
Creed: It's all my fault.
Takashi: What... What's the matter?
Player: Sigh. Takashi, this is what happened...
You told Takashi what happened in the Derrick family's archive room.
Takashi: Lord Calais's messenger crystal is an arcana beacon?
Creed: The beacon provided a location for the shadow portal.
Takashi: That's why the Shadow are in Westhold!
Takashi: Oh, I see.
Player: Now it seems that Derrick was right. It's impossible that they don't know about the fire at the summit.
Duran: Calais is behind everything that has happened during this time.
Creed: Yes... It's my fault!
Creed: I should've found out earlier.
Creed: Since the beginning! Since the business summit! I was already trapped by Calais!
Player: Since the business summit?
Creed: Calais knew that I wouldn't want to miss the quadrennial Luxium business summit.
Creed: So she incited a conflict at the summit to get my attention.
Creed: She even started the fire and killed my two engineer friends. She did that to make me focus on Derrick!
Creed: To make me investigate Derrick!
Creed: The advanced arcana that was performed in the fire could only be done by the Shadow!
Creed: Why didn't I realize that!!
Takashi: Since then...
Creed: The proof is the arcana beacon!
Creed: The same night when the summit fire happened, Calais found me after I left you.
Creed: On the surface, she advised me not to investigate the fire and gave me the beacon, telling me that it was an arcana messenger crystal. She told me to use it in case of an emergency.
Creed: That cunning woman knew that I would track down Derrick.
Creed: She knew that I would dig deep into Derrick's secrets.
Creed: She knew that I would confront her with the crystal when I found the truth!
Creed: She used me to destroy the Derrick family!
Creed: It's my fault.
Duran: All right, Creed! There's no need to blame yourself!
Duran: You were just manipulated by Calais.
Creed: Manipulated?
Creed: Manipulated...
Creed: Manipulated?
Creed: I was manipulated by a weak and dumb human!
Player: Creed... Everyone makes mistakes.
Creed: Don't compare me to humans!
Creed: *Sigh* On the night of the summit, I threw away the crystal.
Creed: I threw it away, and yet I picked it up again.
Player: Calais is your mother after all.
Creed: Mother?
Creed: Yes... because she's my 'mother'...
Creed: Because of these useless emotions...
Creed: Because of this dumb and weak human nature...
Creed: I ignored the important clues.
Creed: I trusted a hypocritical enemy.
Creed: I fell right into her trap.
Creed: I became someone's tool.
Creed: I killed innocent people!!
Takashi: What are you talking about? Do you want to abandon your humanity?
Creed: Haha... Abandon my humanity?
Creed: I have long... abandoned my humanity.
Creed begins to leave
Duran: Where are you going?
Creed: I'll make the perpetrator pay the price!
Player: We're coming with you!
Creed: Enough!
Creed: It's because I've been spending so much time with you that I regained the 'humanity' which I've long discarded!
Player: !!
Duran: ...
Creed: I will only get weaker if I keep spending time with you humans!
Creed: I will deal with this. Leave me alone!!
Takashi: Creed, you...
A blinding flash fills the area
After god knows how long...
When the flash subsides, Creed is gone
Player: Woah... My brain is going to explode!
Duran: I've never seen such a powerful flash arcana bullet.
Takashi: Where's Creed? Where did he go?
Duran: He's gone!
Billy runs to Player
Billy: Captain! Captain!
Player: Billy! What are you doing here?
Billy: Creed kicked me out and took the airship!
Player: He took the airship?
Takashi: Oh no! Creed must have gone to find Calais!
Duran: That idiot! Calais must be ready for him!
Player: Hmm... Creed...

Airship, deck...
Creed is holding a picture of himself and Calais.
He's standing still, quietly...
Hearing your steps, he quickly puts the photo away.
Creed: What is it?
Player: A complete restructure of the Shadowhunter's high-command, and improved employee benefits...
Player: I'm sure Calais would be happy about this ending.
Creed: ...
Creed: Ha! She colluded with the Shadow and completely failed.
Player: I'm sorry about Calais.
Player: Although you said you hate her... you don't.
Player: Right?
Creed: ...
Creed: You know what? Human, your acuity is beginning to annoy me!
Player: It's not that I'm acute, you're just too predictable.
Player: Takashi and Duran saw that too. That's why they asked me to check on you.
Creed: Is... is it that obvious?
Player: Tell me. Maybe we can help.
Creed: This is not something that you can solve!
Player: You said that before too, but what happened in the end?
Creed: !!
Creed: *Sigh*
Creed: After the whole Shadowhunters thing, I always think about Calais.
Creed: It was her who kicked me out of my family eight years ago.
Creed: She used me to get rid of Derrick.
Creed: And she's dead now!!
Creed: But... But I can't stop thinking about her!!
Creed: I thought I would forget about her after helping those employees.
Creed: I tried to distract myself, but none of it worked!
Creed: What happened to me? How did I become someone like this?
Player: ...
Player: Calais is your mother after all.
Creed: 'Mother' is just a human concept!
Player: Creed, even if you don't consider yourself a human...
Player: You still possess all the human traits that you hate.
Player: During the summit accident, in order to save the engineers who were your childhood friends, you ran right into the fire.
Player: You smiled when you defeated Hachi and Miles in the water game.
Player: You let Derrick's informant go in order to protect me during the investigation.
Player: When you realized you were used by Calais, you were furious that you didn't find out earlier.
Player: You were outraged and you went to confront Calais.
Player: Although you despise these 'feelings,' they actually show that you are even more emotional than ordinary people!
Creed: !!
Creed: Nonsense! How could I...
Player: Don't they?
Player: You were sad when your childhood friends died. You were happy when you won the water game.
Player: You were angry when you found out you were used. You were frustrated when you fell for someone's trap.
Creed: I should not have these... feelings! I'll get rid of them sooner or later!
Player: Can you?
Player: If you really could...
Player: Then you wouldn't have helped the Shadowhunter employees negotiate with the military to fulfill Calais's dying wish.
Player: And you wouldn't be in so much pain right now!
Creed: !!
Creed: What should I do?
Player: These feelings are a part of you.
Player: Whether you despise them or hate them...
Player: They will always be with you. If that's the case...
Player: Then try to accept them. At least you'll feel better.
Creed: Accept them...
Creed: Okay!! I'll accept them!
Creed: But even if I do accept them, why do I still think of Calais?
Creed takes out the picture and points his finger at Calais angrily.
Creed: Even if she's my mother, she kicked me out of my home. She used me!
Player: Creed, although I don't know Calais, I think...
Player: She loved you.
Creed: Huh?!
Creed: I'm not in the mood for jokes now!!
Player: Creed, you must've noticed.
Player: When you fell into the trap at Calais' house...
Player: Instead of killing you, she imprisoned you in the basement.
Creed: That's because...
Creed: ...
Player: The logical thing to do would've been to kill you and remove the threat.
Player: But she didn't do that.
Player: I think that was the result of Calais's struggle with the Shadow.
Player: She even left a message that says 'Shadow possession' in her room.
Player: I think Calais was trying her best to help us.
Creed: ...
Player: Remember what Calais said before she died?
Player: I think, 18 years ago when Calais expelled you...
Player: She was... Trying to protect you!
Creed: Protect me!!
Player: You said that 18 years ago, your grandfather committed suicide and your mother became the head of the family.
Player: Suddenly becoming the head of the family must have put her under a tremendous amount of pressure.
Player: Especially from the elders of the family.
Player: I'm guessing her hands were tied back then.
Player: Kicking you out was her only option.
Creed: Is... that right...
Creed: No...
Tears run down his cheeks...
Dripping onto the picture.
Creed: Why...
Creed: Why can't I stop these tears?
Creed: Hey! Human, tell me, why?!
Player: ......
You embrace Creed.
Creed: I should've found out earlier, right?
Creed: Why didn't I find out earlier?
Player: Drago Mining continues to exist and the employees' benefits have been improved.
Player: You have done your best.
Creed: Sorry... Calais.
Creed: I'm sorry...Mother...
Player: Forgive your mother, and forgive yourself.
Creed: Aaahhhhhhh!
Sometime later...
Creed wipes the tears off the photo and puts it away.
Player: Feeling better?
Creed: Why don't we go back to the Hottie Bar?
Creed: I feel a bit dehydrated.
Player: Okay!
Creed: Before going back, I must explain!
Player: Oh?
Creed: You said... feelings are a part of me.
Creed: Unfortunately, I have to admit that you are right.
Creed: But! Even though I have 'feelings,' I am not an ordinary human!
Creed: I am unique!
Player: ...
Player smiles

-Intimacy Level 13
Airship, bridge...
Creed packs his belongings in preparation to leave the airship.
Creed: Well, that's it! I'm off to look for more fun!
Creed: You've helped me solve a big problem. In return...
Creed: You may contact me whenever you need me!
Player: Come back and hang out with us sometimes!
Billy: Goodbye, Creed!
Billy: I'm going to do some maintenance for the airship.
Billy turns around and walks into Hottie Bar.
Creed: Maintenance? I just did it this morning.
Player: He couldn't bear to see you leave.
Creed: Oh? Couldn't bear to see me leave?
Creed: When you guys heard that I was leaving, bandana pliers was the happiest one!
Creed: I thought he still hates me!
Player: 'Hate' is a strong word.
Player: You guys just didn't get along.
Player: He wants to learn more from you and make friends with you!
Creed: This is... unexpected.
Creed: He wants to make friends with me.
Creed: ...
Player: It's not like we won't see each other again. Don't look at me like that!
Creed: I've always had this question. I just can't figure it out.
Player: Oh?
Creed: To be honest, I didn't expect the Calais event to be resolved so quickly.
Player: Thanks to Duran and Takashi's help. They are really strong!
Creed: Yes, they are strong.
Creed: But... Why?
Player: Why?
Creed: Theoretically, humans are simple and low-intelligence creatures that avert risks and pursue self-interests.
Creed: An individual's behavior and decision-making are purely determined by his or her own past experiences.
Creed: When I was locked in the basement by Calais, you risked your lives to save me.
Creed: Back then you said you needed my help. I could still sort of understand.
Creed: But when we were at the altar and we encountered the Shadow ambush...
Creed: First, it was the guy with the ice dragon, and then it was big guy, and finally horn dude too...
Creed: They were willing to stay to fight the Shadow!
Creed: They could've died!
Creed: Big guy is a mercenary. As a mercenary, staying alive is their top priority!
Creed: Horn dude is a Shadowhunter. In a critical battle that could decide the fate of the Shadowhunters...
Creed: He chose to stay and let me, someone who had failed twice already, confront Calais.
Creed: Why?
Player: Because we all trust you!
Creed: Trust?
Creed: I've only met ice dragon twice. And I'd only spent two weeks with big guy and horn dude.
Creed: Even you and bandana pliers! I've only known you for a few months.
Player: So what?
Player: Although we've only known each other for a short period of time, the things we have experienced together are significant!
Creed: Even so... Would that make you entrust the whole battle to me?
Creed: I'm Calais's son. Weren't you worried that I would betray you?
Player: That... never crossed my mind.
Creed: You guys... really trust people too easily!
Player: No! We wouldn't trust anyone easily.
Player: It was more like a feeling.
Player: Although you are odd, rude, and difficult to get along with...
Player: After spending a few months with you, I think you're a trustworthy person. You are not a bad person!
Player: You are rude, but you've never done anything bad.
Player: You are strange, but you helped Billy solve a lot of the problems on the airship.
Player: You are difficult, but you are often very reliable.
Player: Maybe it was these minor traits that give people a sense of trust.
Creed: However, objectively speaking, you can't rule out the possibility that I was just acting.
Player: Well... Isn't it tiring... to be wary of this all the time?
Creed: So... the conclusion is, you, big guy and horn dude...
Creed: Chose to 'trust me' and leave the most critical battle to me...
Creed: Purely based on my appearance and your personal 'feelings.'
Player: Well... that's about right!
Creed: Relying on 'feelings,' which has a huge margin of error, and making highly risky decisions like trusting me...
Creed: These behaviors are extremely foolish.
Creed: However, as a result... we stopped Calais's and the Shadow's scheme.
Player: Maybe... That's how humans keep performing miracles.
Creed: Do humans... perform... miracles?
Creed: Hahahahaha! I've decided!
Creed: I am going to stay! I'll keep renting on your airship!
Creed: I'll teach bandana pliers in exchange for rent!
Player: Sure. But... Why did you change your mind?
Creed: Foolish and weak humans performing miracles...
Creed: It's interesting!
Creed: It's so much fun!!
With that, Creed walks back to his room with his luggage as he laughs loudly.
Player: I want to see Billy's face when he hears this.

-Intimacy Level 14
At night...
Airship, outside the shared bathroom...
Player: Ah... I'm so tired.
Player: Let me take a nice hot bath.
You take off your clothes and walk into the bathroom.
Suddenly you see Creed with nothing but a bath towel on.
He's next to the bathtub fiddling with the faucet.
Player: Whoa! Creed... What are you doing here?
Creed: Oh, Player ah, you're finally here!
Player: Wait! Did you just say my name?
Creed: Well, don't humans like to call each other by name?
Creed: I'm studying humankind. Naturally, I need to get customized to human habits.
Creed: I spent a lot of effort in remembering your name.
Player: Yeah... okay...
Player: Well, why are you standing naked in front of me? What are you trying to do?
Creed: Huh? Why should I have clothes on when I'm taking a bath?
Player: Well... that's true.
Creed steps into the bathtub.
Creed: Come on, the water temperature is perfect.
Player: Huh? Creed... Do you want to share a bath with me?
Creed: Yeah, what's the matter?
Player: What happened to you today?
Creed: Didn't I just explain? If I want to study humans, I have to start with their habits.
Creed: I just asked bandana pliers. He said...
Creed: You want to have someone to share a bath with. So here I am.
Player: Did you investigate my habits?
Creed: Well! You are one of the...
Creed: Most interesting people that I know.
Creed: Sometimes you're devious and sometimes you're cunning and sensitive. And you have a sharp tongue.
Player: I will take that as a compliment.
Creed: Thinking back on the Calais event, it was you who made me, big guy, and horn dude work together.
Creed: In other words, the key to defeating Calais and the Shadow... was actually you!
Creed: So... I'll start by studying you!
Creed is getting a little impatient.
Creed: Come on! Hurry up! Get in!
Player: Oh... Okay.
You get into the bathtub and sit next to Creed.
Although he seems very geeky, he actually has a fantastic physique.
The bathwater barely covers his abdomen, revealing his full chest, like rolling hills.
His perfectly sculpted arms are resting on the edge of the bathtub.
Water drops down along his grey hair and his rebellious face.
...
Player: !!
Creed: What's the matter?
Player: No... Nothing.
Creed: Ohh... This bathtub is really uncomfortable. Tomorrow I'll add a jet massage system to it!
Slowly the temperature rises and the bathroom becomes steamy.
Creed: Heat and humidity reduce the oxygen supply to the brain, causing blood to flow downwards.
Creed: This is not good for brain function. I don't like it.
Player: Relax when you're taking a bath. You should stop thinking.
Player: Your brain needs rest too.
Creed: Stop thinking?
Creed: Hmm...
Creed: Fine. I need to understand human habits.
Creed: Stop thinking...
Creed shuts his eyes and gradually relaxes his body.
Creed: Phew...
Player: It's comfortable, isn't it?
Creed: Well... It's not bad.
Player: ...
After a while, the humidity has almost reached the saturation point.
The bathroom is full of steam.
Creed fixes his gaze on you.
Player: Creed, are you... All right?
Creed: Player... I am... Not all right.
Player: What's wrong?
Creed: My pulse has sped up and my body is getting very light.
Creed: And...
Creed: I think, you look... Better than usual.
Player: Huh?
Creed: I can't... Take my eyes off you.
Creed: It feels... strange, but also very comfortable.
Creed: I can't rest... my mind.
Creed suddenly pounces on you and hugs you.
Player: !!

Conversation continues after choices
You wrap your arms around Creed's waist.
Creed suddenly kisses you.
His warm tongue excites your every nerve.
His moist lips melt your every thought.
At this moment, the steamy bathroom transforms into another world.
A wonderful world that only belongs to you and Creed.
Creed: Player... I like you.
Player: !!
Late night, in the change room...
You and Creed have dried yourselves and are standing back to back.
Player: (I remember Creed confessed his feelings for me.)
Player: (Oh, did he mean it? Or was he just confused...)
Player: (Should I ask him?)
Player: Woah!
Suddenly, Creed hugs you from behind.
His chest is leaning against your back with his right hand moving slowly towards your crotch.
Creed: I want to come back for a bath tomorrow night.
Creed: Will you join me?

Genius

-Intro
Airship, bridge.
Billy: Captain, everything's fine with the airship. We can take off anytime...
Airship Alarm: Warning. Smoke has been detected. Fire warning...
Player: ...
Billy: I... I only just checked...
Billy: Hottie, locate the fire!
Airship Alarm: The fire is in the guest room.
Billy: Guest room?
Billy: It must be Creed!
Player: Creed? Fire?
Player: I'll go have a look. Billy, turn off the alarm.
Thick black smoke burst out as you open the door to Creed's room.
Inside the room, a pan is smoking, with ingredients and bottles of condiments spilled all over the place.
Creed, who's covered in soot, is staring vacantly at the mess.
Creed: Ahem, ahem, ahem, urgh...
Creed: Failed, again?
Player: What are you doing?
Creed: Ex... experiment!
Player: Erh, I thought you said you were doing a mechanical experiment.
Player: Since when did you start messing with...
Player: Chemicals?
Creed: ...
Player: Never mind. Why don't you take a shower and get changed?
Creed: Okay...
Scene - Hottie Bar
Sometime later...
Player: Hottie! Get a glass of water for Creed.
Hottie: Order received. One moment, please.
Creed: ...
Player: Creed, were you cooking in the room?
Creed: !!
Creed: No! Of course not!
Player: Well, although you are really good at mechanics and arcana.
Player: You are a terrible liar!
Creed: Perceptive human.
Creed: Fine, I admit that...
Creed: I was trying to make a dish.
Player: A dish?
Player: But why did you cook inside your room?
Creed: Since I needed a lot of precise instruments for cooking, it was inconvenient to move around.
Creed: So I had to do it in my room.
Player: Cooking with precise instruments?
Player: Erm, why?
Creed: Milligram weighing device, micropipette.
Creed: These are commonly used cooking utensils.
Player: Who the heck uses these for cooking?
Creed: Don't you?
Player: Of course not, I don't even know what they are!
Creed: If you don't use precise measuring instruments.
Creed: Then how do you define terms like 'a pinch,' 'a dash' and 'a sprinkle'?
Creed: Or 'a bunch,' 'a handful' and 'plenty'?
Player: Well, just follow your gut instinct.
Creed: Gut instinct? That's too random.
Creed: It's not accurate at all!
Player: It's just cooking. Why do you have to be so precise?
Creed: How can you be sure your cooking is consistent if you are not precise?

-The uncertainty is what makes cooking fun! - 900 Intimacy
Player: Every time you cook, it's a surprise.
Player: It may turn out to be delicious, sometimes, it may not...
Player: But that's one of the reasons why cooking is so much fun!
Creed: Being interested in... uncertainties?
Creed: ...
Player: What's wrong?
Creed: I'm just surprised that what ordinary people pursue in cooking is essentially consistent with my pursuit in life.
Creed: Pursuit of the uncertainties and the unknown.
Creed: Drop me off in Never Isle!
Player: We just left Never Isle.
Creed: I want to buy more ingredients, and try a few more times!
Player: I don't have anything urgent to do. I'll tell Billy to take us back to Never Isle!

-As long as it's not burnt and it's edible, right? - 500 Intimacy
Player: Cooking would be a lot easier if your goal is just to make something edible!
Creed: No!
Creed: That's just what you humans pursue in life...
Creed: Cooking is an experiment too! It must be accurate, controlled, and replicable!
Creed: The amount of seasoning, the heating temperature, and time.
Creed: Everything must be absolutely accurate.
Creed: In order to make the best food!
Player: Why are you so serious?
Creed: There must be something wrong with the recipe. That's why I failed. I need a new recipe!

-I think you do have a point. - 700 Intimacy
Creed: Of course.
Player: But it seems no one cooks with precision equipment.
Creed: Then I'll be the first one!
Creed: To make the perfect dish with experimental methods!
Player: Haha, classic Creed.
Creed: I have enough ingredients to try one more time!
Player: I'll help you!

Human

-Intro
Hottie Bar, Airship.
Creed: Human!
Creed: Hey, human!
Player: Oh? Are you talking to me?
Creed: Of course. Is there anyone else here?
Player: ...
Creed: I found some information about Derrick in BlackFlame City, take me there.
Player: (Creed's attitude is really annoying.)
Player: (Argue with Creed.)
Scene - Hottie Bar
Player: You are human too!
Player: What gives you the right to talk to people like that?
Creed: Me? Human?
Creed: Hahahaha!
Player: What's so funny?
Creed leans in close to you and looks at you amusedly.
Creed: A so-called 'human' is just the sum of its own experience. It's a machine of flesh and blood!
Player: Huh? Machine? Impossible!
Player: If humans are machines, how come everyone's different?
Creed: Because they have different experiences.
Player: Experience?
Creed: Say, if there are 10 adult males in front of you, would you be able to tell them apart?
Player: Of course, they all have their own unique physical and behavioral characteristics.
Creed: Good. What if they are 10 babies? Can you distinguish between them?
Player: Well, that would be... unlikely.
Creed: Exactly!
Creed: A baby is a human without any unique qualities. It only turns into someone with distinct physical and behavioral characteristics, as you said.
Creed: After going through different experiences for a few years.
Player: Well, yes, but.
Creed: Conversely, say from now on.
Creed: If we give a newborn the exact same education as yours, the exact same family and experiences as yours.
Creed: This newborn will become another you, right?
Player: What? Another me?
Player: No! It won't be the exact same person as me!
Player: In critical moments, our choices would not be the same!
Creed: Oh?
Creed: Well, I'll give you an example. If you see the White Capes going after a Gyee, would you help the Gyee?
Player: Of course!
Creed: Why would you help him?
Player: It's our responsibility to help Gyees in danger.
Creed: But why do you think so?
Player: Well, why, it's just natural instinct.
Creed: There's no such thing as 'instinct' in this world.
Creed: You think so because you've been living in Never Isle.
Creed: The Gyees are your friends. They are discriminated against and persecuted. The White Capes are evil and they kill gyees.
Creed: When you are exposed to these ideas every day, naturally you develop the instinct to 'help the Gyees.'
Creed: Meanwhile, since you are good with arcana and you are strong, you are more than capable of dealing with the White Capes.
Creed: That's why you would 'help' him.
Creed: But if you live in Crossport.
Creed: Would you still help him?
Player: !!
Player: I... cannot deny that.
Creed: See? A human is the sum of its own experiences, a machine that can be manipulated!
Creed: This is the truth!
Player: ...

-I really can't deny that. - 700 Intimacy
Creed: I know.
Player: Shouldn't you at least address people by their names?
Player: They might think you are rude.
Creed casts a faint smile.
Creed: I don't care what other people think.
Creed: Now, can you take me to BlackFlame City?

-No! Humans are never machines! - 900 Intimacy
Player: If it's really like that.
Player: Then how come there are no two people who are exactly the same in Luxium?
Creed: Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Player: Oh? So have you seen it, Creed?
Creed: !!
Creed: Well...
Player: If you haven't seen it either, it means your theory may be flawed.
Creed: That's impossible! My theory is sound!
Player: However, a theory without evidence cannot be defined as truth!
Creed: Erh...
Creed: Humph!
Creed: Cunning human!
Creed: But you cannot prove my theory wrong either!
Player: You can't prove it, and I can't falsify it. What a dilemma.
Creed: I will prove my theory.
Creed: It doesn't matter anyway. Take me to BlackFlame City!
Player: ...

-Why do you think you're not a human? - 500 Intimacy
Creed: ...
Creed: My brothers shared the same family background as me.
Creed: However, by the time I was 7, I was already completely different from them...
Creed: While they were wasting their time on children's games, I'd already mastered the basics of arcana and mechanics.
Creed: They are just mere humans!
Creed: But I am different.
Player: You have brothers?
Creed: Biologically speaking, yes...
Creed: Humans pursue resources, wealth, fame, friendship, family, and love...
Creed: I do not pursue these trivialities...
Player: What are you after?
Creed: ...
Creed: Fun.

Gambler

-Intro
BlackFlame City...
Creed stands aside with a serious look on his face...
Next to him is a busy commercial venue...
Player: I think it's a casino.
Player: What is Creed doing standing in front of a casino?
Player: (Go and ask him...)
Scene - BlackFlame City underground
Player: Creed?
Creed: Oh, it's you...
Player: Why are you standing in front of a casino?
Creed: Are you going to gamble?
Creed: Ha, I'm not interested, and I don't need to.
Creed: A so-called casino is just a trap set by capitalists for poor people.
Creed: They try to squeeze every last penny out of the poor by any means necessary...
Creed: I'm not interested in giving my money to those capitalists.
Player: Then why are you standing here?
Creed: As you can see, the casino is very busy.
Creed: Why is that? Why do humans walk into the trap of the capitalists willingly?
Player: Maybe they want to get rich.
Creed: Get rich...
Creed: In this casino, the best odds of winning a jackpot on a slot machine is only 0.6%.
Creed: Without external interference...
Creed: The odds of winning once in 10 rounds is only 5.7% and the odds of winning once in 50 rounds is only 22.2%.
Creed: And the cost of playing 50 rounds is almost the same as the jackpot prize itself.
Creed: It's not rocket science. Even ordinary humans can do the math.
Creed: But this place is still full of humans.
Player: Well, everyone in the casino believes that they are within the 22.2% or even the 5.7%.
Player: The kinds of people who come here are not like you.
Player: They won't work out the probability of each machine and analyze the odds of winning.
Creed: Humph!
Creed: They can see the 20% odds of winning but they turn a blind eye to the 80% odds of losing.
Creed: In a situation like this, they put all their hard-earned money into gambling.
Creed: I thought humans are creatures who seek advantages and avoid risks.
Creed: Well, it seems that humans are even more pathetic than I thought!
Player: You...

-Not everyone is a gambler... - 500 Intimacy
Player: Your conclusion is too extreme.
Creed: Do you think only people who go to the casino are gamblers?
Creed: No!
Creed: The entrepreneurs at the Elysiann business summit are all gamblers, aren't they?
Creed: They went to the summit to look for investment opportunities.
Creed: If they don't investigate the investment properly, they may lose all their money!
Creed: Isn't that gambling?
Player: !!
Player: If what you say is true, then there's no point doing anything!
Player: An airship could crash!
Creed: Don't worry, your airship will never crash!
Creed: Everything happens for a reason.
Creed: As long as you increase the success rate to 100%, it will never fail, and vice versa...
Creed: If you are worried about a crash, eliminate all the potential risks that could cause a crash!
Creed: Replace the parts, use qualified flux fuel, and don't overload the core. If you do that, it will never crash.
Creed: Yet some people like to cut corners and speed.
Creed: When accidents happen, they do nothing but complain.
Creed: Humans... always see the possibility of benefits but ignore the risks.
Player: ...
Creed: Let's go! Let's get out of here!

-Although it's cruel to say it, I think you're right - 700 Intimacy
Player: A lot of things are obviously wrong.
Player: But people still do it.
Creed: Just get used to it.
Creed: After all, this is a world full of humans!
Creed: If all humans are like me...
Creed: A lot of unnecessary problems could've been avoided. However...
Player: If everyone is like you?
Player: Well...
Player: Never mind. I'm happy with the way things are.
Creed: What do you mean?
Player: No... Nothing.

-It makes no sense!! - 900 Intimacy
Player: Although gambling is bad, it does not mean that humans are pathetic!
Creed: Oh?
Creed: They only see the 20% odds of winning but not the 80% chance of losing.
Creed: Isn't that pathetic?
Player: Gambling is definitely not a good thing.
Player: However, there are lots of situations where we need to try our best even when there's only a 20% chance of success!
Creed: Oh? Try your best?
Player: For example...
Player: If there is a way to defeat the Shadow with the combined efforts of all humans. But the chance of success is only 20%.
Player: Would you do it?
Creed: Of course not!
Player: So are you going to stand idly by and watch the Shadow destroy everything?
Creed: No!
Creed: I will improve the 'method' and increase the success rate to 100%!
Player: What if you don't have time to improve it?
Creed: !!
Creed: ...
Player: Then you have to try your best within that 20% chance, right?
Player: When it comes to the matter of survival or extinction, no matter how slim the chance of survival is...
Player: Humans will always try their best!
Creed: !!
Player: Humans may be gamblers, but we are not pathetic!
Creed: A gambler, but not pathetic?
Creed: Interesting.

Darkness among the flames

The fire... has ignited a noisy night.

-Part 1
This Trifle continues directly after Branch - Grand Meeting
Scene - Elysiann, at night
An explosion goes off as the Luxium business summit is winding down, setting multiple areas on fire
Billy: Fire... It's on fire!!
Player: Hmm...
Player: Did someone behind the scenes do this?
A Shadowhunter runs by
Player: Hold on!
Player: What is going on?
Shadowhunters Soldier: There is a fire in the north of the city. It seems that something's exploded at the summit.
Player: Exploded?
Shadowhunters Soldier: The fire is spreading very quickly, but it's still safe here at the moment.
Shadowhunters Soldier: We will try our best to control the fire. You should take the airship and leave as soon as possible!
Billy: Captain, let's see if we can help!
Player: Sure!
Sometime later, Elysiann city center...
Player and Billy run towards the summit and see Turing battling the flames with one of his robots
Other Shadowhunters around them also fight the raging fire
Player: Turing?
Billy: Thank God you're safe!
Turing: Player, Billy? Why did you come back?
Billy: We are here to help!
Turing: Help...
Sven: Everyone, get water from the port! Now!
Sven: Defense Force, is there a fire-extinguishing system in the city?
Elysiann Police: Well... There is, but somehow... the system's not responding!
Sven: Oh no... Not now. It's such bad luck.
Player: What? The fire system is not activated?
Player: Do you mean...
Sven: Player? What are you doing here? Evacuate to the port!
Billy: We're here to help!
Sven: Help?
A fire near Turing suddenly ignites
Turing: Watch out!
Turing uses his robot to extinguish the new fire
Sven: Wow!
Sven: That's great!
Sven: Can you lend us your robot?
Turing: Sure. But there's only one water flux grenade left for the fire.
Sven: Oh no...
Sven: I wanted to say 'leave it to us', but there's really not much we can do with a fire like this.
Sven: Guys, can you help transport water from the port to put out the fire?
Player: No problem!
Sven: Now I wish that grumpy ice idiot is here.
???: Ice arcana won't help with a fire like this!!
Everyone turns around to see Creed
Sven: You're the one who helped with the conflict before!
Sven: Can you please help us get water to put out the fire?
Creed: ...
Creed approaches Turing
Creed: Hey! Human! Did you say your robot still has one water flux grenade?
Turing: Well, yes.
Creed: That should be enough! Give me your robot!
Turing: Oh... Okay.
Creed starts to transform Turing's robot.
Sven: What is this guy doing?
Player: Maybe he's found a way to put out the fire.
Sven: Oh?
Sven: Let me help.
Creed: ...
Sven: Hey brother.
Creed: Hey!!! Get out of my way! Idiot!
Player: !!
Sven: You...
Player: I think... We should just leave him alone.
Sven: That guy...
Sven: !!
Sven: Watch out!!
Another fire starts near the group
Creed: ...
The fire has already come very close to Creed.
But he doesn't seem to care.
He's completely focused on transforming the robot.
Creed: Done!!
Player: Done?
Creed throws a bag of money at Turing.
Turing: ?
Creed: I'll buy the robot.
Robot: Emergency program loading, progress 1%... Loading complete!
The robot runs into the raging inferno
Billy: What? Master, your robot ran away!
Creed: ...
Creed smiles
A large explosion of water flux suddenly extinguishes some of the flames
Sven: The fire is out!!
Sven: Brothers, follow me and save...
Creed: The fire is only temporarily extinguished on the outside...
Creed: I will take care of the source of the fire.
Creed: Idiots, if you don't want to die, stay away from here!
Creed runs towards the source of the fire
Sven: ...
Suddenly, someone appears in the middle of the fire...
That... can't be Creed.
Player: That's!!
Player runs towards the fire
Billy: Captain!
Billy chases after Player
Sven: Why are you...
Sven: Let's go!
New fires block Sven and Turing from following
Sven: Blasted!
Turing: Player, Billy...
Turing: Please stay safe.
Farther inside the fire...
Billy: Captain, why did you run in here all of a sudden?
Player: I saw someone here.
Billy: Someone? It must be Creed!
Player: No, it wasn't Creed.
Billy: If it's not Creed, it must be...
Player: The perpetrator!
Billy: We must catch him!
Player: He's gone that way. Let's go!!
Player and Billy run deeper into the fire
Billy: Ahem... Ehem...
Billy: The smoke is getting thicker.
Player: Ehem... The person disappeared into the smoke.
Billy: Captain, let's get out first!
Player: But... There's no way back...
Takashi: Player!!
Takashi: *Cough*... What are you doing here?
Player: Takashi?
Takashi: Let's talk later. It's not safe here!
Takashi: Follow me!
Player: Okay!
Takashi leads Billy and Player to a safe zone protected by multiple thermal barriers
Creed and multiple Shadowhunters are there with them
Injured Shadowhunter: Ouch!! It hurts!
Creed: Idiot! Stay put, or it's gonna get even worse!!
Creed: Are these all the survivors?
Takashi: Yeah.
Creed: Really...
Player: Creed?
Creed: !!
Creed: You two!
Creed: How stupid are you?
Player: We saw someone suspicious around there, did you see him, Creed?
Creed: Someone suspicious? Well...
Creed: ...
Takashi: *Cough*... *Cough*
Takashi looks weakened by the smoke
Creed: Stubborn human.
Creed: If you want to keep your lungs, drink this!
Takashi: *Cough*. Thanks.
Creed looks at Player
Creed: Hey! Since you're here, you may as well do something.
Creed: Horn dude here is not doing great, and those idiots over there are even worse.
Creed: They are going to die if they stay here.
Creed looks at a pile of junk behind the group
Creed: The fire is relatively smaller over there. But it's blocked by debris and junk.
Creed: You go...
Creed: Well... I'll support the thermal barrier. Humans, go and get rid of the junk!
Billy: Sure! Okay!
Player: Leave it to us!
Sometime later.
The survivors are sent to a relatively safe area.
Billy: Takashi and the last wounded person have been taken to a safe place!
Creed: This!
Creed throws you a small box.
Player: This is...
Player: Wow!
The box suddenly explodes.
You feel a strong air current swirling around you.
The flame doesn't feel as hot anymore.
Player: Is this air arcana? I didn't know it can be triggered with a box.
Creed: Save your compliments for later
Creed: If we don't control the source of the fire, we won't put out the flames even after Elysiann's been burned to ashes!
Creed: I'm going to put out the source of the fire. You guys, use my arcana device to escape!
Player: That person may stop you from putting out the fire.
Player: We'll go with you!
Billy: Yeah! You'll need our help!
Creed: Humph.
Creed: ...
Creed: Just don't get in my way!
Another explosion goes off
???: Woahhhh!!!
Player: Who's screaming?
Billy: But Takashi said there're no more survivors.
Creed: ...
Creed runs towards the scream
Player: Wait for us!
Player and Billy follow
The three eventually find Duran in the middle of the fire
Duran: *Cough*... Blasted!
Player: Colonel Duran?
Player: Are you okay?
Player: (Duran has serious burns all over his body and he's suffered serious impact injuries...)
Player: (Although, Duran has done some first-aid on his wounds...)
Duran: Huff... Puff...
Duran: Go... now...
Duran: This is... a trap...
Billy: Trap? What are you talking about?
Duran: Grr...
Player: You better not speak. You are badly hurt. Let's get you out of here first!!
Duran: Leave... leave me alone... You guys get out of here now.
Duran: Watch out! The guy hiding in the dark... is tough.
Duran: Grr...eh...
Player: Duran's passed out!
Player: His pulse is weak. We must do something.
Billy: We have to take him to the hospital!
Creed: He would already be dead by the time we get him out.
Creed: Use this.
Creed hands you an injection.
Player: What is this?
Creed: My special fortifier. Make sure you inject it into his heart.
Creed: It will keep him going for a bit longer.
Player: Alright... Okay!
After injecting the fortifier into Duran...
Duran: Wha...
Duran: Player... You guys?
Player: Great! It worked!
Billy: Thanks to Creed's fortifier!
Duran: !!
Creed: ...
Creed: You should go somewhere safe and get treated.
Duran: I'm staying with you!
Duran: The guy hiding in the dark is likely over there!
Player: The guy in the dark? Duran, what are you talking about?
Duran: When the fire started, I followed someone suspicious.
Duran: After a while, he suddenly quickened his pace and ran towards the center of the fire.
Duran: I followed him and came here.
Duran: It turned out to be a trap! I was wounded by explosives.
Duran: And that person suddenly disappeared.
Player: Suddenly disappeared?
Duran: I saw how the explosive was set up.
Duran: If I see it again, I will recognize it!
Creed: My fortifier won't last for very long!
Duran: I can't accept your treatment for free!
Creed: All right... Just don't get in my way, big guy!
The four run towards the source of the fire - the engine exhibit they saw earlier
Creed: This is where the fire started.
Player: Isn't this... Where the conflict was?
Billy: The booth with the new engine!
Creed: ...
Creed: The flux engine got started. Its faulty design led to the explosion.
Creed: The flux fuel leak spread the fire.
Creed: No doubt, this is the source of the fire!
Duran: How do we put it out?
Creed: We must stop the flux fuel from leaking!
Creed: But...
Creed: We don't have any tools to operate large machinery with.
Billy: Tools for operating large machinery?
Billy: My big pliers can close the valve and stop the fuel from leaking!
Creed: Should I trust this rusty bandana dude?
Billy: ...
Billy: I can do it! Leave it to me!
Creed: Well... Even if we have the tool...
Creed: This is the source of the fire, where the flames are the strongest.
Creed: Even my swirling air device won't be able to withstand it!
Creed: We have to put out the fire around the outside, if even just for a moment.
Duran: Leave it to me!
Duran: My City Razer can release pressurized nitrogen to temporarily extinguish the fire.
Duran: I'll leave the rest to you!
Player: But, Colonel Duran, your body...
Duran: Don't worry, I'm fine.
Duran uses his City Razer to weaken the fire
Duran: Now!
Billy stops the fuel leak with his Robot Plier
Player: We did it!!
Billy: Awesome!
Creed finds the two engine engineers nearby, dead from the explosion
Creed: ...
Billy: I recognize them. They are the engineers in charge of the new engine.
Player: Creed, I'm so sorry. I know they're your friends.
Creed: Humph! They don't deserve to be my friends!
Creed: I already told them about the flaws of the engine. But they still got used by someone else.
Creed: And they even died for it.
Creed: Their stupidity has no bounds!
Creed: For such idiots, death may be the best ending for them!
Creed: Hahahahaha!!!
Billy: Hey! You don't have to insult...
Duran stops Billy.
Duran: ...
Creed: ...
Creed: Hey! Bandana pliers!
Player: ...
Billy: My name is Billy!
Creed: Names are inconvenient!
Player: What? Names are inconvenient?
Creed: Anyway, well done! I underestimated you, bandana pliers.
Billy: ...
Once the source of the fire is dealt with, the Shadowhunters and the Elysiann defense force quickly put out the rest of the fires.
Duran is sent to the Elysiann church for treatment. He is out of danger now.
Elysiann seems to have regained its former tranquility.
Scene - Outside the Elysiann Defense Force base
Billy: What?
Player: How is that possible?
Elysiann Defense Force Captain: I told you, the fire was an accident!
Creed: Heh.
Elysiann Defense Force Captain: We found the source. The fire was caused by an accidental explosion of a flux engine.
Player: But we saw the suspicious dark shadow!
Billy: Not just us, many people saw it!
Elysiann Defense Force Captain: But none of you could describe the appearance of the 'dark shadow.'
Elysiann Defense Force Captain: Plus, we've searched the entire island and we didn't find anyone suspicious!
Elysiann Defense Force Captain: The 'dark shadow' may just be an illusion due to the high temperature.
Player: I can tell illusion from reality!
Elysiann Defense Force Captain: If you don't have business in Elysiann, please leave!
Player: Hmm...
Player, Billy and Creed meet up with Takashi
Player: Takashi, how many casualties are there from the Shadowhunters?
Takashi: We are still counting.
Takashi: We lost at least a dozen soldiers.
Takashi: I'm afraid there are even more casualties among the Shadowhunter's non-combat personnel.
Player: How did this happen?
Billy: Gees... So many people died.
Billy: There's so much evidence pointing towards deliberate arson! Why did the Elysiann defense force say it's an accident?
Creed: He's just a puppet. He was told to say that.
Takashi: Hmm, I'm afraid someone pressured the Elysiann authorities.
Player: Pressured the Elysiann authorities?
Takashi: The Shadowhunters were in charge of the security for this summit.
Takashi: If people find out that someone had successfully sabotaged a Shadowhunter event...
Takashi: The Shadowhunter's reputation will be ruined.
Player: So, the Shadowhunters are the ones pulling the strings?
Takashi: We don't have any evidence, although I'm afraid...
Player: ...
Shadowhunters Soldier: Brother Takashi!
The Shadowhunter soldier whispers something into Takashi's ear.
Takashi: ...
Takashi: Player, Creed and Billy, thank you!
Takashi: The Shadowhunters have ordered us to return! I will buy you a drink later!
Player: What? Return?
Takashi and the Shadowhunter soldier take off
Player: Why? The Shadowhunters don't want to investigate this incident?
Creed: ...
Player: Creed, have you thought of something?
Creed: Yes.
Creed: However, this is not something that you should participate in.
Creed: If I were you, I would stay out of it.
Creed leaves
Player: ...
Sometime later...
Late at night...
Player: (I just can't get over this...)
Player: (The streets should be quiet at this hour. I can finally begin the investigation.)
???: Player!
Player: Hmm...
Player: Phew... You scared me. It's you, Colonel Duran.
Player: How is your recovery?
Duran: I'm fine.
Duran: What are you doing here so late at night?
Player: I'm still worried about the fire.
Player: It is too suspicious.
Duran: Haha! It's like a party now!
Player: Party?
Takashi: Player!
Creed: You too...
Player: What are you all doing here?
Creed: Human! I've told you, this is not something you can fix.
Creed: It's not too late for you to go home now!
Player: I'm already here.
Player: At least find some information before I go.
Creed: Heh... Your stubbornness is going to kill you one day, human!
Player: Ha... Haha...
Player: Ugh... Now that everyone's here...
Player: I'm guessing we are all here to investigate the fire!
Player: Then let's investigate this together!
Creed: Wait a minute... The Elysiann officials have released their investigation results.
Creed: Why are you still investigating the fire?
Duran: It's too stuffy in the hospital. I just came out for some fresh air.
Duran: And... take a look at the source of the fire along the way.
Creed: Oh? Fresh air? Don't force yourself.
Creed: My fortifier may have saved your life, but it has some serious side effects.
Creed: Normal people would have to lie in bed for weeks!
Creed: Big Guy, are you really okay?
Duran: Ha! I am not a 'normal person' in any sense of the word.
Creed: Heh...
Takashi: I'm here to investigate the shooting that happened during the day.
Player: Oh, right. During the day, when the Shadowhunter soldiers and the corporate staff were having a fight...
Takashi: Someone incited the conflict in the dark.
Takashi: This matters to me.
Creed: I see... As a leader, you're responsible for your soldiers, aren't you?
Creed: What about you? Don't tell me you're here out of curiosity.
Player: Well... Actually...
Player: I find the fire itself very suspicious. I can't get over it.
Player: After all, a lot of my friends are Shadowhunters. I thought I'd better look into this.
Creed: Because you are friends with the Shadowhunters?
Creed: What a strange human.
Creed: We can investigate together.
Creed: As long as you stay out of my way!
Duran: Now that we have approval from Sir Creed, then let's go!
Creed: What?! Sir?
The team begin their investigation
Later...
Duran: Wait! Someone's here!
Duran: Hide!
Derrick stands near where the engine exploded
Takashi: That's...
Takashi: Lord Derrick?!
Duran: Derrick...
Player: The mayor of Westhold? What is he doing here?
Creed: ...
Derrick looks at both of the craters created by the explosion and leaves
Player: He's gone!
The team goes to investigate the explosion site
Creed: I knew it.
Player: Creed, did you notice something?
Creed: The fire was caused by someone filling the engine with unstable flux fuel.
Player: Unstable flux fuel?
Creed points to the ground.
Creed: The dark residue was left by the combustion of unstable flux fuel.
Creed: This residue is unique to this fuel.
Creed: Unstable fuel combined with the flawed design of the flux engine...
Creed: The explosion set the whole of Elysiann on fire.
Player: The flawed design of the flux engine?
Player: In other words, the ones who were hiding in the dark knows the engine very well!
Creed: ...
Creed: Right.
Player: Could it be the two engineers in charge of the engine exhibition?
Creed: Them? Haha? Impossible.
Creed: They were idiots. One was too conservative and the other was a coward.
Creed: I'd praise them if they managed to pull this off.
Player: Ok... Fine.
Duran: Did you find anything?
Player: The culprit is someone who knows the flux engine.
Player: That's all we've got. Duran, did you find anything?
Duran: The explosive they used to ambush me was made in BlackFlame City.
Player: What? Was it a mercenary from BlackFlame City?
Duran: It's hard to say.
Duran: Anyone can buy weapons in BlackFlame City.
Duran: Military arms from BlackFlame City can be used by anyone.
Player: Ok...
Duran: Takashi, did you find anything?
Takashi: (Shakes head...)
Takashi: I wanted to find the bullet casing left by the Shadowhunter sniper during the day.
Takashi: I searched everywhere but I couldn't find anything.
Takashi: It's not surprising though. Someone who's capable of causing such havoc is not going to leave the bullet casing behind.
Player: Oh... We've come to a dead end.
Creed: ...
Duran: ...
Takashi: ...
Player: There should more clues.
Choice 1.1 - (Failed urban fire system...)
Player: When the Shadowhunters were trying to put out the fire...
Player: The Defense Force mentioned that the urban fire system was not responding for some reason.
Player: That could be a clue!
Takashi: Hmm... fire system...
Creed: Humph! There are spies in Elysiann too!
Creed: If this is daytime, we can just bribe a Defense Force member to tell us something.
Creed: But now... there's nothing we can do.
Player: Well...
Choice 1.1.1 - (Failed urban fire system...)
Go to Choice 1.1
Choice 1.1.2 - (The source of the unstable flux fuel)
Go to Choice 1.2
Choice 1.1.3 - (The vanished dark shadow...)
Go to Choice 1.3
Choice 1.2 - (The source of the unstable flux fuel)
Player: Creed, can you find the source...
Player: of the unstable flux fuel that caused the fire?
Player: If we can find the supplier, maybe we can...
Creed: ...
Creed: You mean... you want to find the manufacturer of the fuel that's no longer there?
Player: Hmm... that doesn't sound very likely.
Choice 1.2.1 - (Failed urban fire system...)
Go to Choice 1.1
Choice 1.2.2 - (The source of the unstable flux fuel)
Go to Choice 1.2
Choice 1.2.3 - (The vanished dark shadow...)
Go to Choice 1.3
Choice 1.3 - (The vanished dark shadow...)
Player: Colonel Duran, you said you chased someone suspicious.
Player: He disappeared when you approached him, right?
Duran: Yes!
Player: Can you tell me where he disappeared?
Duran: It's over there, not far away.
Scene continues after choices
Duran leads everyone to where he last saw the suspicious person
Player: !!
Creed: !!
Player: There's a trace of arcana!
Creed: Secret flux arcana!
Duran: It means he vanished using arcana!
Player: Yes!
Takashi: But it only means that person knows how to use arcana, right?
Creed: Not just 'only'!
Creed: The trace left by a normal arcanist is so obvious that I can feel the type of arcana used.
Creed: But this person only left a very limited amount of arcana traces behind.
Creed: Without a doubt, the perpetrator's arcana level is above most arcanists!
Takashi: We've come to another dead end again, have we?
Creed: No! We have enough leads!
Creed: Someone who can throw off this big guy and lead him into a trap...
Creed: Skilled with arcana...
Creed: Has a good understanding of mechanics...
Creed: There are not many who match these criteria in Luxium!
Player: It could be a gang.
Player: The point is, who can afford to hire a person or a gang with such abilities.
Creed: And, why...
Takashi: !!
Player: Takashi?
Takashi: The Shadowhunters have lost 23 soldiers in the fire.
Takashi: Many soldiers think the fire was caused by the Shadowhunter corporate staff.
Takashi: The soldiers are... quite upset.
Takashi: Combined with the fact that the corporate staff almost got into a fight with the soldiers...
Player: Someone wants to turn the Shadowhunters upside down.
Takashi: ...
Duran: ...
Creed: ...
Creed: Looks like that's all we've got!
Player: ...
Takashi: Yeah... for now, that's all.
Takashi: I need to go back to reassure my soldiers and prevent further conflicts with the corporate staff.
Takashi: Mr. Creed, thank you for helping us with the fire!
Takashi: You can find me at the Fire Nexus anytime!
Takashi: I will try my best to repay your kindness!
Duran: Haha, without Creed, I'd be dead!
Duran: When you're in BlackFlame City, just tell them you're my friend and no one will dare touch you!
Duran: I should go back to the hospital. I wouldn't want them to realize I sneaked out.
Takashi and Duran leave in opposite directions
Takashi: ...
Duran: ...
As they leave, the two look angry as if they both have suspicions on who the mastermind is
Creed: Hey! Human!
Player: Huh?
Creed: Why are you still here?
Player: Well... it's nothing...
Player: Where do you live, Creed? I can give you a ride on my airship!
Creed: That's not necessary. I'm staying at a hotel.
Creed: I thought I would find something fun here.
Creed: But in the end... it's just a bunch of meaningless politics.
Creed: Isn't it?
Player: Oh... see you then.
Player leaves
Creed: ...
Creed also looks angry, thinking of the potential mastermind
Later...
Player: Something doesn't feel right.
Player: Creed seems to be trying to get rid of us.
Player: I should go back to check on him!
'Sometime later...
Player goes back to where everyone last was but sees Creed talking to a well-dressed lady
Player: !!
Player quickly hides
Player: That's!
Player: If I remember correctly, that's Calais, one of the six Shadowhunter families and also the head of the Drago Mining!
Player: She seems to be talking to Creed... let me get closer.
Creed: Is this your so-called human emotion?
Player: (Huh? Is Creed yelling at Calais?)
Creed: To avoid confronting the Shadowhunters, you betrayed the employees who'd been working for the Calais family for decades!
Calais: Haven't you always looked down on humans?
Calais: 'Humans are just tools.' Isn't that your ideology?
Creed: Ha!
Creed: Abusing the weak and submitting to the Shadowhunter's oppression out of fear...
Creed: That is not my ideology!
Calais: Enough. I'm not here to argue with you!
Calais: I demand you stop right now! Don't get yourself in trouble unnecessarily!
Creed: Trouble?
Creed: To me...
Creed: That's just fun!
Calais: Creed! I order you to stop!!
Calais: Derrick is much more dangerous than you think!
Creed: Order?
Creed: I'm no longer one of the Calais's. Don't you remember?
Calais: Well then... at least...
Calais: Take this arcana messenger crystal with you. Call me when you are in danger!
Creed: I don't need this!
Creed throws the crystal into the bush.
Calais: It was my mistake 6 years ago. But you don't have to...
Calais: Sigh. Fine...
Calais leaves
Creed picks up the arcana crystal he discarded and puts it away.
Creed: ...
Creed: I know you are listening! Come out now!
Player: Urh...
Player: Creed, do you know Calais?
Creed: Let's talk about that later! Tell me why you came back.
Player: Because you said, 'Looks like that's all we've got!'
Player: There were clearly lots of questions remaining. Yet you...
Player: I thought you must've discovered the one behind this. That's why you sent us away!
Player: Am I right?
Creed: ... Ha
Creed: Hahaha!
Player: !!
Creed: So I exposed myself.
Creed: As I expected, you are a lot stronger than normal humans! Interesting!
Creed: Ask me anything about this incident! I will not keep anything from you!
Player: ...
Choice 2.1 - Who's behind this?
Creed: Derrick...
Player: What? You mean the mayor of Westhold, that Derrick?
Creed: Correct!
Creed: I don't have any direct evidence yet. It's just my speculation.
Creed: Believe it or not, it's up to you.

Creed: Thank me?
Player: If I guess correctly, you went into the fire to save the 2 engineers, didn't you?
Creed: Are you kidding me?
Player: However, you stopped to save Takashi and the other survivors.
Player: And you saved Duran with your injection.
Player: Creed, you are very human!
Creed: !!
Creed: Don't insult me with your human sentiment!!
Creed: I helped you because you are useful to me!
Creed: I helped the horn guy is because he can help me find the person I want!
Creed: I helped the big guy to get information about the source of the fire!
Creed: THAT IS ALL!

Creed: It doesn't matter.
Player: What?
Creed: I was once part of the Calais family.
Creed: Due to some kind of disagreement... 8 years ago...
Creed: I was kicked out by Calais herself!
Creed: That's all.
Player: Fine...
Creed: Even if they didn't kick me out...
Creed: I would've left Drago Mining anyway. It was such a hell hole!

Creed: ...
Creed: Yeah.
Creed: One thing that Calais said was right.
Creed: Derrick is very dangerous.
Creed: On the surface, he looks like an approachable and kind mayor. But in reality, he is a cunning schemer!
Creed: Derrick... has a secret title, 'the Eye of Wonderland.'
Creed: He is the most powerful intelligence dealer in the black market.
Creed: He would secretly incite chaos, then at the critical moment, he'd appear and resolve all the problems, like a 'savior.'
Creed: He does this to gain popularity and then uses it to blackmail others.
Creed: These are Derrick's favorite tricks!
Player: !!
Creed: It's normal... to be scared.
Creed: Derrick is not someone that ordinary people can deal with!
Creed: Although the horn guy wants to find the truth, he's a Shadowhunter himself and he's under Derrick's control.
Creed: The big guy... although he didn't give away his motives, he's only a mercenary. He can't handle Derrick.
Creed: And you...
Creed: Forget it! You should try to enjoy your life.
Player: What about you? Why do you want to deal with this?
Player: To avenge the two engineers who died in the fire?
Creed: No!!
Creed: It's for...
Creed: ...
Creed: Fun!
Player: Huh?
Creed: ...
Creed smiles as he walks away
Player: What a weirdo...
Creed comes back
Player: Hey! Why did you come back again?
Creed: You said you have an airship, didn't you?
Player: Well, if you want a lift...
Creed: Sell it to me!
Player: What?
Creed: It's convenient to have an airship.
Creed: If I buy one from an airship manufacturer, it will be noticed by Derrick.
Creed: It's best to buy it from someone like you!
Player: Well... but...
Creed: Name a price and I'll pay for it!
Player: It's not about the price!
Player: My airship is not for sale!
Creed: However much you want, I'll give you double!
Player: I said... it's not about money!
Creed: Not about money?
Creed: You... are... such a weirdo.

Those who do their best to stop conspiracies often achieve a bigger one.

-Part 1
Scene - Hottie Bar
Hottie Bar...
Billy: Hottie! Give me a glass of Flame!
Hottie: Order received, please wait a moment!
Player: What's the special occasion today?
Player: What brings our great engineer to the Hottie Bar for a drink?
Billy: Sigh...
Billy: Great engineer... Captain, stop teasing me.
Player: Billy, you are a great engineer to us. I wasn't just teasing you.
Player: Did something happen?
Billy: Yes. But not necessarily a bad thing.
Billy: Well, Creed completely transformed our airship.
Billy: He replaced the power supply and energy system. He even changed the armor.
Player: Is the transformation not good?
Billy: On the contrary... it is too good.
Billy: Before I used to monitor the airship every day, I conducted minor inspections weekly and major inspections every month.
Billy: The work was fulfilling.
Billy: But now, I can finish the major inspection in 1 hour, it used to take me 2 days.
Billy: The airship is working too well!!
Player: That's a good thing. Now, you can do something you enjoy in your spare time.
Billy: But I've got too much spare time. I am even sick of the Rupor Show now.
Billy: Captain... I am... so bored!
Player: Well... maybe you can check on Creed and see if he needs an extra pair of hands.
Billy: Never mind.
Creed walks into the bar
Player: Oh, Creed, here you are!
Billy: ...
As Creed walks to Player, he bumps into Billy
Creed: !!
Billy: ...
Billy: Ahh... I'm such an idiot. Sorry for getting in your way.
Creed: I am...sorry...
Billy: !!
Player: !!
Creed walks to another part of the bar
Billy: Captain, was I hallucinating?
Billy: Did Creed just... apologize... to me?
Player: I also heard Creed's apology. Maybe there's something wrong with me too.
Creed: Wooo!
Splash!
Billy: Why did he walk straight into the pool?
Player: Let's drag him out!
A few moments later...
You and Billy dry up Creed's body and help him change into something clean.
Player: Creed, are you okay?
Billy: You are the first person to walked into the pool fully clothed.
Creed: I'm fine.
Player: You don't seem fine.
Creed: ...
Creed: This is not something that you can resolve!
Player: I knew something must've happened. Tell us.
Player: We may not be able to provide actual help.
Player: But it could be fun to hear our dumb ideas, right?
Creed: Fun...
Creed: Fine.
Creed: I need to go to Westhold and enter Derrick's office!
Billy: You mean... the office of the mayor of Westhold?
Creed: Except for Westhold, I've already collected all the intelligence I possibly can from everywhere else.
Creed: But there are still a lot of questions.
Creed: One of the key questions is, what does Derrick actually look like?
Player: What does Derrick actually look like?
Creed: Derrick always shows up in Shadowhunter armor. His actual appearance is a mystery.
Creed: There are 4 witnesses in Luxium who have seen Derrick without his armor.
Player: Witnesses!
Creed: Those four people gave four completely different descriptions.
Creed: One said Derrick is an old man with an injury to his right leg.
Creed: One said Derick is a slim and tall lady.
Creed: One said he's a tiny young man.
Creed: And one said he's a stout warrior.
Billy: Is the mayor of Westhold... a monster?
Creed: He's indeed a monster.
Creed: But even a monster should only have one face!
Creed: This monster has been using 'combat exchange' as an excuse to plant spies...
Creed: In all major cities in Luxium and in all Shadowhunter altars and Nexuses.
Creed: It means Derrick is plotting something big!
Creed: However, in his schedule, Derrick doesn't have any plans to travel.
Creed: The only way is to go to Westhold and confirm this for myself.
Creed: However, Westhold is impregnable. I won't be able to sneak in.
Creed: If I don't think of a way, I'll have to bomb it with explosives.
Billy: Bomb... It?
Player: Don't! The Westhold is the base of the Shadowhunters.
Player: There'll be no way back if you bomb it.
Creed: That was a joke. Don't be so serious.
Creed: Even if I do bomb it, Derrick would hide his safe house in Westhold the first chance he gets.
Creed: Then no one will see him!
Player: So, do you want to enter Westhold?
Creed: Do you have any suggestions?
Player: Westhold...
Player: Oh right!
Player: We can ask Takashi for help!
Creed: The man with horns?
Player: Yeah! He is the commander of the Fire Nexus. He may have some ideas!
Player: Besides, didn't Takashi say you can ask him for help?
Creed: Ask him... for help?
Creed: Well... But he's a Shadowhunter and he's quite senior. I can't trust him!
Player: We worked together during the fire at the summit. He's a reliable man!
Player: At least try and ask him.
Player: It doesn't matter how, as long as you achieve your goal, right?
Creed: Humph! Fair enough.
Creed: Speaking of which, he does owe me a favor.
Creed: ...
Player: Billy! Let's go to the Fire Nexus!
Scene - North Desert, outside the Fire Nexus
A while later...
Outside the Fire Nexus...
Creed and Player meet Takashi
Two Shadowhunter soldiers stand behind Takashi
Takashi: Creed! Player! Welcome to the Fire Nexus!
Creed: Horn guy, I need to ask you for a favor!
Creed: You owe me!
Takashi: Hahaha, you really get straight to the point.
Takashi: How can I help you?
Player: Takashi, sorry for interrupting your training.
Player: They don't have to escort us. We don't want to interrupt their training.
Takashi: ...
Takashi: Oh, don't worry. You didn't interrupt our training. Follow me, please.
Takashi leads Player and Creed somewhere they can talk in private
A few moments later...
Takashi: Player, Creed, we can talk here.
Creed: Horn guy, I want to meet Mayor Derrick. Can you arrange that?
Takashi: You want to meet Lord Derrick?
Creed: Correct.
Takashi: ...
Takashi: Creed, may I ask why you want to meet Lord Derrick?
Creed: To look at his face and ask him about the fire at the summit.
Creed: If he's the culprit, I may kill him as well!
Player: You want to kill him?
Creed: What? Do you think I'm going to make friends with him?
Takashi: Are you telling me you are going to assassinate Lord Derrick?
Creed: Haha, many people in Luxium want him dead. I'm not the only one.
Creed: But you took us here away from Derrick's spies...
Creed: It means, you also have a problem with him!
Creed: Am I right?
Takashi: Mr. Creed, very impressive.
Takashi: To be honest, I've also been investigating Lord Derrick after the business summit.
Player: What?
Creed: ...
Takashi: Lord Derrick... has 'helped' me before.
Takashi: Due to a certain incident...
Takashi: General Bandler, my previous commander and the head of one of the six Shadowhunter families, and I owe Derrick a huge favor.
Takashi: The Bandler family has become Derrick's puppet.
Takashi: I also have to take orders from him on a lot of matters.
Takashi: Inciting the conflict in the summit and secretly starting the fire...
Takashi: Although I don't have any direct evidence against him, this may be another one of Derrick's conspiracy!!
Takashi: Some time ago, Derrick planted his cronies at the Fire Nexus.
Takashi: On the surface, this is to supervise the soldiers and to prevent them from starting another conflict with the Shadowhunter corporate staff.
Takashi: But in reality...
Creed: He's trying to gradually take control of the Fire Nexus.
Takashi: ...
Takashi: Every soldier at the Fire Nexus can see Derrick's intention.
Takashi: However, opposing him means making an enemy of the Shadowhunters.
Takashi: Currently, the Fire Nexus does not have the strength to revolt against him.
Takashi: However, the Fire Nexus will never become Derrick's puppet!
Takashi: Mr. Creed, what you did during the fire was impressive.
Takashi: I will do my best to assist you!
Takashi: I can take you into Westhold as a commander of the guards.
Takashi: But even I don't get to meet Derrick whenever I please.
Takashi: I'm sorry, Mr. Creed. That's already the best I can do.
Creed: Don't apologize, you've been very helpful!
Creed: One last question... Have you seen Derrick's face?
Takashi shakes his head.
Takashi: No, he's always wearing the Shadowhunter captain's armor.
Creed: Now, we just have to get close to Derrick!
Player: Get close to Derrick...
Player: !!
Creed: From that look on your face... You seem to have an idea.
Player: I don't.
Player: But I know who might!!
Player: Let's go to BlackFlame City!
Takashi: I'm more familiar with Westhold.
Takashi: I'll go with you!
Scene - BlackFlame City underground
A while later...
BlackFlame City...
Duran: Player, Creed!
Duran: I remember you, you're a Shadowhunter commanding officer.
Takashi: I am Takashi.
Duran: You guys again... just like the day of the summit.
Duran: What's wrong?
Player: I need to ask you for a favor, Colonel Duran.
Creed: I want to meet Derrick!
Duran: You want to meet Derrick?!
Duran: You don't want to see him for a casual chat, do you?
Creed: Derrick needs to be held responsible for what happened at the summit!
Duran: I knew it. So Derrick was the one behind the summit attack.
Duran: I've been investigating the summit attack since I left Elysiann.
Duran: It turns out they didn't use mercenaries on the market.
Duran: If they're not mercenaries, then they're the perpetrator's own people.
Duran: Although I can't prove it, Derrick is the only one with his own cronies and also has a reason to ruin the summit!!
Creed: It seems you also have a problem with Derrick.
Creed: So... getting Derrick helps all of us!
Creed: You are the strongest mercenary in Luxium.
Creed: It shouldn't be hard for you to take me to Derrick, right?
Duran: Hard?
Duran: Seeing Derrick is not a problem. The problem is...
Duran: Killing him...
Creed: Can't we solve this 'problem' with our bare hands?
Player: Are you saying Derrick is very strong?
Duran: That's not all...
Duran: I've already... killed Derrick once.
Takashi: Killed him?
Player: Once?
Duran: Yet, there were no reports or news about his death.
Duran: In just a few days, Derrick showed up in public again.
Duran: He even came looking for me in BlackFlame city, to taunt me.
Creed: Are you sure the one you killed was Derrick?
Duran: I've been a mercenary for 20 years. I don't get the wrong target.
Creed: Did you see his face when you killed him?
Duran: He's a bald middle-aged guy with an injury to his left eye.
Player: What?
Creed: Hmm... Derrick's fifth face?
Takashi: What?
Player: There are four other people who have seen Derrick's face.
Player: They gave four different descriptions, and Duran just gave us the fifth.
Takashi: How is that possible?
Duran: I have a bone to pick with Derrick as well!
Duran: But without knowing why he doesn't die...
Duran: I can't help you.
Creed: The mystery of Derrick's multiple faces and immortality...
Creed: Interesting...
Player: Multiple faces and immortality...
Choice 1.1 - (Maybe Derrick is very good at disguising himself!)
Player: Maybe Derrick is very good at disguising himself!
Player: What Duran and the four witnesses saw was Derrick with different disguises!
Takashi: But why did he change his disguise?
Takashi: If he wants to hide his identity, the Shadowhunter armor should be good enough.
Creed: Maybe Derrick has an unusual hobby.
Takashi: What? Cross-dressing?
Duran: Well... even if Derrick is a cross-dresser...
Duran: That still doesn't explain how he came back to life after I killed him?
Player: Urh... maybe he knows resurrection arcana?
Creed: Maybe. There are tabooed arcana for keeping a deceased person's soul in a puppet.
Creed: But the resurrection doesn't exist!
Duran: I've seen those tabooed arcana puppets.
Duran: But that 'resurrected' Derrick was a real person!
Duran: I'm very sure.
Player: Hmm...

Player: Well... is it possible that...
Player: Derrick is more than one person?
Takashi: More than one person?
Player: Yes!
Player: Maybe there are 5, 10, or even 100 Derricks.
Creed: 100 different people. That could be why the witnesses gave different descriptions.
Duran: When one goes down, the next one takes his place.
Choice 1.3 - (Maybe Derrick has a few body doubles!)
Player: Maybe Derrick has body doubles!
Player: Rich businessmen and politicians all have body doubles.
Player: In case they get assassinated.
Takashi: Although I haven't heard of Derrick using body doubles...
Takashi: As the head of a Shadowhunter family, it's possible that he has body doubles.
Creed: Body doubles... So what big guy and the witnesses saw were his doubles?
Creed: It would be much simpler if those were doubles.
Duran: Doubles...
Duran: Would Derrick send a body double to attend the 'Anti-Shadow Council'?
Takashi: The most important meeting for the Shadowhunters?
Takashi: No!
Takashi: The other families would notice if he sends a body double to attend the Shadowhunter's most important meeting.
Duran: The Derrick I assassinated was the one attending the Anti-Shadow Council.
Duran: Plus, he was very calm when he faced his death.
Creed: Calm?
Takashi: A body double won't be able to do that.

Creed: Humans, you're starting to astonish me.
Takashi: How is that possible?
Takashi: I've been in the Shadowhunters for 12 years. I haven't noticed anything strange.
Takashi: If there is more than one Derrick, how do they manage to slide under the radar all these years?
Takashi: At least... their voices will be different!
Creed: It's difficult, but it's not impossible.
Creed: Arcana can be used to tune voices.
Creed: As long as all the Derricks communicate regularly, they can go undetected.
Takashi: Which means the reason that Derrick always wears a large Shadowhunter captain's armor...
Takashi: is so that anyone can fit inside with a little adjustment, except for people who are too large.
Takashi: I see... that's why he's always wearing that armor.
Creed: So that's the answer to the mystery of Derrick's multiple faces and immortality.
Duran: Yeah.
Duran: But that only makes Derrick even harder to deal with!
Duran: Among the 100 Derricks, only one would appear in public.
Duran: To 'act' as the Mayor of Westhold and the head of a Shadowhunter family...
Duran: The other 99 Derricks would blend in with society...
Duran: And live a normal person's life!
Creed: Yeah.
Duran: Not to mention if we are to find these 100 people...
Duran: As soon as one Derrick senses our movement...
Duran: All of them will be on alert!
Duran: Then we'll never find them!
Takashi: Hmm...
Player: Indeed...
Creed: Don't make it so complicated.
Creed: We don't have to find the other Derricks.
Player: Why?
Creed: This Derrick trick has its advantages.
Creed: But at the same time, it has a major drawback!
Creed: All the Derricks need to meet regularly.
Creed: The Derrick in public needs to keep the other Derricks updated on the important things that he's encountered...
Creed: To ensure the smooth transition of different Derricks showing up in public.
Takashi: But they don't have to meet in person.
Takashi: They can update each other by mail or using arcana messenger crystals.
Creed: No. They have to meet in person!
Creed: Mail can be intercepted and arcana crystals can be traced.
Creed: Don't forget, Derrick's trick has never been exposed once in at least a decade.
Creed: They can only communicate by meeting 'face to face,' the old-fashioned but reliable way.
Creed: They need a reliable meeting place. If they change the location too frequently, the risk of being exposed will be increased.
Creed: As a result, it's very likely that they have a fixed location for synchronizing information.
Creed: As long as we can find out where they meet regularly...
Creed: ...
Duran: I see!
Takashi: This is brilliant!
Player: But how do we find this location?
Creed: Track Derrick and find out where he goes regularly.
Creed: Then we can find Derrick's base!!
Creed: Leave the investigation to me and...
Takashi: I will track Derrick with the Shadowhunter's internal resources!
Duran: I'll go and ask in the black market, maybe I'll find something about Derrick!
Player: Let me ask my friends in the Order of Equality. They may know something through their intelligence network.
Creed: !!
Creed: Alright...
Creed: Make sure you keep a low profile during the investigation.
Creed: Derrick is the Eye of Wonderland in the black market. Don't alert his spies!
Duran: Don't worry. We won't make such rookie mistakes!
Player: If we find anything, let's meet at Duran's!
Duran: Sure!
Takashi: Okay!
Takashi: I'm going to collect some information now!
Takashi: Derrick... I've had enough!!
Duran: It's time to... put an end to this!
Creed: Derrick wouldn't expect so many of his enemies...
Creed: To visit him at the same time.
Two weeks later...
BlackFlame City, Late night...
Duran: This is all I've got. There's nothing suspicious.
Takashi: I got a map of the Westhold Municipal Hall. Nothing suspicious either.
Takashi: He doesn't go anywhere regularly.
Player: The Order of Equality doesn't have much information on Derrick either.
Player: But I heard that Erwin was killed.
Takashi: Yeah...
Takashi: Technically speaking, he disappeared. A lot of people are saying he's dead.
Duran: Disappeared? The Erwin of the Shadowhunter family who controls the third-largest transportation company in Luxium?
Takashi: That's him. Erwin was last seen in their corporate warehouse.
Takashi: He was kidnapped by a few people in Shadowhunter's armors.
Duran: Someone's trying to discredit the Shadowhunters again!
Takashi: Yeah. Erwin's staff already hate our guts. Together with Calais's corporate staff...
Takashi: They staged a protest in Eversun, demanding to leave the Shadowhunters.
Takashi: Ursus Altar has sent troops to Eversun to maintain order. If necessary, they will suppress the protest.
Takashi: Sigh. Such bad timing.
Creed: We must hurry! Whatever Derrick is planning...
Creed: He's already taking action!
Player: But... we still don't have any clues.
Creed: What are you talking about? We've found it!
Creed: The Eye of Wonderland's base!
Player: !!
Creed: Westhold is where the Derricks meet!
Takashi: What?
Creed: Look, Derrick worked overnight at least once every two weeks for the past five years.
Player: Maybe he is busy with work?
Creed: If this only lasts a few months, maybe it's because of work.
Creed: But... It went on for five years continuously. That is not normal!
Duran: I see. He uses his work as the mayor as his cover for...
Duran: Exchanging information with the other Derricks in the City Hall...
Duran: Hiding in plain sight!
Takashi: Even if we know they will meet in the City Hall, we don't know the date of their next meeting.
Takashi: The days when Derrick works overnight are irregular and random.
Takashi: We can't forecast when the next meeting is.
Duran: Blasted!
Creed: The date of the meeting is indeed a random day within a two weeks period.
Creed: But, look!
Creed: Derrick hasn't worked overnight for 13 days.
Player: !!
Player: Which means...
Player: The next meeting will be tomorrow!!
Creed: That's right!
Player: We're in luck!
Duran: Derrick is out of luck!
Takashi: Hurry, let's discuss our plan of action for tomorrow!
Duran: Right!
Creed: Tomorrow big guy, horn dude and I will enter Westhold and kill Derrick!
Creed: Player, you will stay on the airship!
Player: Huh? Me? Stay on the airship?
Creed: Although we've got a lot of information, Derrick is still very dangerous!
Player: I know, but...
Creed: You don't have a grudge with Derrick. Why do you want to come?
Player: !!
Creed: It's different for us. We need to settle our score with Derrick.
Takashi: Creed is right, Player.
Takashi: This is our fight!
Duran: We need someone reliable to pick us up, Player!
Duran: You can also support us in case of an emergency!
Player: ...
Takashi: Let's plan our operation!
Takashi: I can take you into Westhold, but you need to find another way to enter the City Hall and Derrick's office.
Duran: The City Hall is easy. I know an employee entrance that is always unlocked!
Creed: Yes! I will enter the City Hall with big guy. And horn dude, you'll keep an eye out on Westhold!
Takashi: I have a map of the City Hall. But we don't know the situation inside the City Hall and Derrick's office.
Creed: Since the last time big guy assassinated Derrick, his office lock has been replaced with the most advanced security system.
Creed: It's an array that can identify the visitor's physical characteristics. When an unauthorized visitor enters the array...
Creed: He will be burned to ashes right away!
Player: Ashes?
Takashi: How did you know that?
Creed: Where there are humans, there will be loopholes.
Creed: I asked the contractor who's in charge of the Shadowhunter's high command security systems.
Creed: It's estimated to take years before the array can be cracked, but it's not completely foolproof.
Creed: This array requires huge flux support. If we can temporarily cut off the flux supply to the City Hall...
Creed: I can crack the array within two minutes and enter Derrick's office!
Creed: However, once Derrick's scouts notice that the flux's been cut, they'll try to stop me from cracking the array.
Creed: So I'll need someone to deal with them when I'm cracking the array.
Duran: Leave them to me!
Creed: Okay. Big guy, after you cut off the flux supply, come to me immediately.
Takashi: That's not possible.
Takashi: The flux core of the City Hall is underground and Derrick's office is on the top floor.
Takashi: No one can make it in time!
Takashi: I'll cut off the City Hall flux supply! Duran, you'll protect Creed!
Creed: No, the attack on Derricks' meeting is better left for outsiders like us!
Creed: You are a Shadowhunter. It's best if you don't...
Takashi: To get Derrick... I am willing to gamble everything...
Creed: Ha! Gamble everything... such a silly human emotion...
Creed: Horn... don't burn your bridges!
Creed: If you expose yourself without killing Derrick this time...
Creed: Then we won't get another chance to fight Derrick.
Takashi: ...
Creed: Besides, we need to have someone in Westhold...
Creed: As for... cutting off the City Hall flux supply...
Creed: Um...
Player: Leave it to me!
Creed: !!
Player: I'll go with you and cut off the City Hall flux supply!
Player: I can leave the airship to Billy.
Creed: ...
Creed: Why? Why do you insist on joining even when you know how dangerous it is?
Creed: I am suspicious of your motives! Human!
Choice 2.1 - Because we are friends!
Player: Both Takashi and Duran are my friends!
Player: Creed, you are my friend too!
Creed: Friends?
Creed: Don't make me laugh!
Creed: Don't try to fool me with your human emotions!
Choice 2.2 - For the peace of this land
Player: The Derrick problem is no longer just your problem.
Player: He threatens the whole of Luxium!
Player: Now that I am aware, I can't just sit idly by and do nothing!
Creed: ...
Creed: An irrational sense of justice.
Choice 2.3 - Why do I need a motive?
Player: I simply want to join you! Out of impulse!
Creed: Impulse...
Player: You know, people do incomprehensible things when they are impulsive!
Creed: Right, a lot of idiots are controlled by their impulsiveness.
Creed: But you are not like that!
Player: You don't know me.

Player: Duran said...
Player: I can provide support when you need it.
Player: And this is when you need my support!
Creed: ...
Duran: I don't think we can find anyone more suitable than Player right now.
Takashi: Yeah, Player is very strong and completely reliable.
Creed: Reliable?
Creed: ...
Player: Tomorrow is your last chance.
Player: Creed, you don't have a choice.
Creed: ...
Creed: ...
Creed: You're right. We don't have a choice.
Creed: Okay. You are responsible for cutting off the City Hall flux supply.
Creed: When you are done, come to the entrance of Derrick's office immediately!
Player: Got it!
Player: However, many Shadowhunters in Westhold know me.
Player: I better enter Westhold in disguise!
Duran: !!
Duran: Derrick's people should know me too!
Takashi: It'll be easy to disguise Player. There are many Shadowhunter armors at the Fire Nexus.
Takashi: If Player is going in disguise, Creed you better disguise yourself too.
Creed: Okay! That'll reduce our chance of failure.
Takashi: But...
Takashi: We don't have armor in Duran's size.
Duran: ...
Player: Uh...
Player: !!
Player: I can help with that!
Scene - Westhold, at night
The next night...
Westhold...
Takashi, a "Bearman Guard", and two "Shadowhunter soldiers" are inspected by two Westhold Shadowhunters guarding the entrance to Westhold City Hall
Westhold Shadowhunter: Lord Takashi! Please show your permit!
Takashi: Here you go!
Westhold Shadowhunter: Yup... your permit looks fine.
Westhold Shadowhunter: Lord Takashi, thank you for your cooperation.
Takashi: ...
The two Westhold Shadowhunters step aside to let Takashi in
Westhold Shadowhunter: Hold on!
Takashi: !!
Bearman Guard: ...
Takashi: What happened?
Westhold Shadowhunter: Who are these people behind you?
Takashi: Soldiers from the Fire Nexus. They are with me.
Westhold Shadowhunter: Lord Takashi, I don't remember seeing you come to Westhold with guards before.
Westhold Shadowhunter: Why today...
Takashi: ...
Shadowhunter A: We're ordered by Lord Derrick to escort Commander Takashi to Westhold! Is there a problem?
Westhold Shadowhunter: Lord Derrick?
Shadowhunter A: Yes!
Westhold Shadowhunter: But, sir, we didn't receive any notice from Lord Derrick.
Bearman Guard: Look!
The bearman points to the City Hall.
Although it's midnight, the top of the City Hall is still lit.
Bearman Guard: Lord Derrick is expecting us.
Bearman Guard: If you keep him waiting...
Westhold Shadowhunter: Hmm... Sorry, sir!
The four enter the City Hall grounds
Shadowhunter A: Phew... That was close!
Takashi: The security in Westhold is a lot stricter than usual.
Shadowhunter A: It proves my hypothesis that the Derricks are meeting tonight In Westhold City Hall!
Bearman Guard: Yes!
Takashi: The rest is up to you guys!
Takashi: Everyone in the City Hall works for Derrick. There's no point keeping your disguise anymore.
Takashi: I will keep watch outside and contact you with the arcana messenger crystal in case there's anything!
Shadowhunter A: If you encounter any enemies, make sure you use the weapons I gave you!
Shadowhunter A: Don't alert the enemies!
Shadowhunter A: Okay!
Shadowhunter A: The Mayor of Westhold... is going down!
Takashi walks to the east while Player, Creed and Duran walk west
Moments later, at the flux core of the Westhold City Hall...
A worker is checking the flux core
City Hall Staff: Final check, the flux core is working well.
City Hall Staff: Fill in the report... Sign to confirm...
City Hall Staff: Pheww... I can finally go home.
The worker hears some footsteps behind him
City Hall Staff: Who would come underground at this hour?
City Hall Staff: Uh... Sir! We are...
The worker turns around
Player: Oh! No!
City Hall Staff: Ahhhhh! Alarm... Ring the alarm...
Player tosses a smoke bomb at the worker
City Hall Staff: Urgh!
Player: S...sorry! Why don't you take a nap?
Player: Luckily Creed prepared this hypnosis arcana ammo...
Player examines the flux core
Player: So this is the flux core of the City Hall.
Player: (Take out the arcana messenger crystal...)
Player: Player has arrived at the appointed location!
Player: Setting up Creed's flux circuit breaker.
Player: Cutting City Hall flux supply in, 5, 4, 3, 2!
Player: 1!
The lights go out
Player: The flux supply has been cut!!
Player: Over!
Player: It's time to join Creed and Duran!
Meanwhile, the City Hall security unit...
Security Guard: Why did the flux go out?
Security Captain: No! Someone damaged the flux circuit!
Security Captain: Everyone! Go to Lord Derrick's room!
Security Captain: Protect Lord Derrick!!!
Security Guard: Yes, sir!!
City Hall, in front of Derrick's office...
Creed: The security array hacking progress is at 10%. Derrick's people are on their way!
Creed: Big guy, can you fight in the dark?
Duran: Leave it to me!
Duran fights the security guards
Security Guard: Woah!!!!
Security Guard: We've encountered the enemy!!
Security Guard: Give me a light! I need a light!... Argh!!
Security Captain: Everybody, let's retreat and regroup!
Security Captain: Mmm...
The captain of security bumps into something.
Duran: ...
Security Captain: !!
Security Captain: Woah!!!!
A moment later...
Player: According to the map, this is Derrick's room.
Player: It's a little too quiet.
Player: I hope they are okay.
Creed: Hey! Human! Can't you talk to yourself in your mind and not out loud?
Creed: You're so noisy!
Duran: Shh...
Player: Oops... Sorry...
Creed: Done! The security array has now been hacked!
Creed: When the flux supply resumes...
Duran: !!
Duran: Someone's coming!
Creed: Hmm, that must be the security unit.
Two faint spots of light appear not far away.
One is bright red and the other is light blue.
Player: !!
Duran: I'll take care of them!
Player: Duran, hold on!!
Scene - Outside Derrick's room
The lights come back on revealing Sven and Grancy followed by Kolkaz and Radon
Grancy: ...
Sven: ...
Duran: ...
Grancy talks into his messenger crystal
Grancy: This is Grancy. The top floor is clear! No intruder has been found!
Grancy: I'm going to search the next floor!
Player: Huh?
Sven: Hey! Catch!
Sven throws Creed a crystal.
Creed: This is...
Creed: Hmm!
Grancy: Our common enemy started a fire.
Grancy: A fire that's gone out of control.
Grancy: It took us a lot of effort to get Derrick's crystal. Don't waste it!
Sven: Scythe boy, aren't you good at putting out the fire?
Sven: Then we're counting on you!
Sven and Grancy leave
Duran: ...
A surprised Duran looks at Creed
Duran: Creed, what did they give you?
Creed: If I'm not mistaken...
Creed: This is the arcana crystal that will take us to the base of the Eye of Wonderland!
Creed: With a bit of tempering, it will lead us to Derricks' base!
Creed uses the crystal at the door and a portal appears under him
Player: !!
Creed: Let's go!
Duran: Let's end this!!
Moments later, unknown location...
The three get teleported to a large library
Duran: Where are the Derricks?
Creed: Calm down, big guy...
Duran: !!
Player: Where are we?
Creed examines some of the bookshelves
Creed: The Derrick family crest is printed on all these books.
Creed: I think this is the archives room.
Creed: Are these the Derrick family diaries?
Player: Diaries?
Player: Yeah! It contains records of all the important events that Derrick has encountered!
Creed: And the Derrick family's meeting notes and decision documents.
Duran: !!
Duran picks up one of the diaries
Duran: It means... the crime that Derrick committed 18 years ago is also...
Duran: ...
Duran: I knew it!!
Creed: It seems we've struck gold!
Creed: These archives contain records of all the nasty acts that Derrick has committed!!
Player: So, if we can find evidence of Derrick's involvement in the summit's fire...
Player: We just need to release the evidence and Derrick will be doomed, even if we do nothing!
Creed: No...
Creed: If we don't get rid of Derrick ourselves, he may rise again!
Creed: Of course, the more weapons we possess, the easier it'll be to deal with Derrick!
Creed: I'll look for a way out of here! You and big guy collect Derrick's evidence as our backup!
Player: Sure!
A few moments later...
Player: Gosh...
Player: This is evidence of Derrick manipulating the election for the mayor of Crossport.
Duran: The appointment of the Kaist grand hierophant was also under Derrick's control.
Player: This one is about him using public opinions to frame the governor of Eversun.
Player: As to the Shadowhunters... The is about him secretly taking the Shadowhunter's Thunder Arcana Research Center.
Player: I can't believe it... This is the crop production and pricing report of Luxium.
Player: Oh my lord...
Duran: Found it! This file is about this year's Luxium Business Summit!
Player: Open it!
Duran: This is... the fire investigation report of the summit.
Duran: The conclusion is... someone set the fire on purpose to incite a conflict between the Shadowhunters and their corporate staff.
Duran: This is his order... dispatch personnel to all military and commercial units to prevent further conflicts between the Shadowhunters and the corporate staff by all means.
Duran: Use an intelligence network to investigate the one responsible for the fire.
Player: Huh? Are they looking into the fire?
Player: But... I thought they set the fire at the summit!
Duran: Hmm...
Player: Here!
Player: Research Unit A... Fully investigated Luxium's mercenary market...
Player: The fire at the summit was not done by mercenaries. Unable to trace the arsonist.
Duran: This is consistent with my investigation.
Player: Research Unit B... Investigated the method of how the arsonist left the scene...
Player: The arsonist used highly advanced space arcana which is not recorded in Luxium.
Player: Conclusion: highly suspicious...
Player: Order update: Research unit to track this down and continue investigation...
Player: Research Unit C... Track down the other Shadowhunter families...
Player: Ehh... Did Derrick set this up for us to find?
Duran: ...
Creed walks back to Player and Duran
Creed: I can hear sounds from a room nearby.
Creed: I believe the Derricks are having a meeting there.
Creed: Are you ready? It's time to give Derrick a big surprise!
Duran: ...
Player: ...
Creed: What's wrong?
Duran: Creed, look at this...
Creed: Ha! You found the file about the summit?
Creed: ...
Creed: This!!
Duran: If these reports are real, Derrick is just doing the same thing as us.
Duran: They are also investigating what happened at the summit.
Creed: Do you mean Derrick is not aware of the accident at the summit?
Creed: No way! I'm telling you this is Derrick's scheme!!
Creed: But Derrick couldn't have known we're coming, he couldn't have prepared a fake report for us in advance...
???: Don't worry. The report is real.
Duran: !!
The worker that was at the flux core walks up to the three
Player: !!
Player: You are the worker that got stunned by the arcana bullet?
???: (Smile)
???: Are you satisfied now? Creed?
Creed: Are you Derrick?
Derrick: Yes, and no.
Derrick: I will be the Derrick for the next two weeks. Now I am still a worker in charge of maintaining the core!
Duran: Derrick!!
Derrick: Oh, Colonel Duran, have you not learned your lesson? It's useless to kill me!
Derrick: Put away your City Razer!
Duran: Hmmm...
Derrick: You thought you had a perfect plan.
Derrick: But in reality, your every move was completely under our control!
Player: !!
Derrick: Welcome to the classified archives of the Derrick Family!
Derrick: I've already given you sufficient time to find what you need.
Derrick: Now, let's talk!
Creed: ...
Duran: ...
Player: What do you want?
Derrick: The Derrick family is not something that you can sabotage!
Derrick: Do you really think your petty tricks will escape my attention?
Player: !!
Derrick: I know your every move like the back of my hand.
Derrick: Even the crystal that Sven had found is part of our plan!
Duran: You mean, you deliberately led us here?
Derrick: Of course! Only invited guests are allowed to be here!
Derrick: I'll give you a chance to work for the Derrick family!
Creed: *Puff*...
Creed: Hahaha!
Creed: That's hilarious.
Derrick: Humph! This is the greatest mercy I can grant you!
Derrick: You can't compete with the Derrick family.
Derrick: You've seen the archives.
Derrick: In here...
Derrick: There are records of every important decision made by the Derrick family in the past one thousand years!
Derrick: These records have witnessed Luxium's development in the past millennium!
Derrick: On the surface, the Derrick family is one of the six Shadowhunter families.
Derrick: In reality, from food prices to elections...
Derrick: The whole of Luxium is under our control!
Derrick: The Derrick family shoulders the responsibility of leading our civilization into prosperity!
Player: !!
Derrick: Making an enemy of the Derrick family is making an enemy with the entire world!
Duran: Enough!
Duran: Prosperity?
Duran: You achieve your goals with sabotage, scheming, and incitement...
Duran: You've killed thousands of innocent people for your own selfish interests!
Duran: Is that how you made Luxium prosperous?
Derrick: Colonel Duran, we didn't really have a choice for what happened 18 years ago.
Derrick: Sacrificing you and a small group of people in exchange for the world's stability and sustainability...
Derrick: Wasn't it a good bargain?
Derrick: Colonel Duran, you're a mercenary. You know even better than me.
Derrick: Over the past 18 years, countless times, you've thought of sacrificing yourself for the people who died, haven't you?
Duran: Hmgh!!
Duran: ...
Derrick: You look at it from a mercenary's perspective. And the Derrick family looks at it from the world's perspective.
Derrick: Colonel Duran, if you were in my position, you would've made the same decision!
Duran: ...
Creed: Don't listen to him!!
Creed: You're just sugarcoating your family's selfish desire for power as development for the world.
Creed: Hah! Your shamelessness has just reshaped my understanding of humankind.
Creed: For thousands of years, the Derrick's has been a stooge for families with a military background.
Creed: The 'Military First' tradition of the Shadowhunters was created by none other than you people!
Creed: Eighteen years ago, you caught the Calais and Erwin families' mistakes and took advantage of them.
Creed: Recently you gained control of the Bandler family and the Floyd family.
Creed: From these incidents, it is clear that you simply crave power!
Derrick: Creed, who claims to have 'surpassed humankind.' Is this the limit of your vision?
Creed: Excuse me?
Derrick: The Shadowhunters... is the shield of Luxium! This shield must not fall!
Derrick: The centralization of power is only on the surface! Our real goal...
Derrick: Is to reshape the shield!
Player: Reshape?
Derrick: The Shadowhunters today are far less powerful than before.
Derrick: With their military prowess and arrogance, the Ackley's and the Bandler's are only interested in gaining the position of the Roderick.
Derrick: The Calais's and the Erwin's have been heavily burdened with excessive military spendings and are no longer in support of the Shadowhunters.
Derrick: The Floyd's, with their scientific background, only wants to focus on research and stay away from everything.
Derrick: The Shadowhunters are divided. If this continues, the shield of Luxium will eventually break!
Derrick: Our goal is to reunite the Shadowhunters and reshape that shield...
Derrick: Into one that can truly stop the Shadow.
Creed: Ha! Reshape the shield? You are hilarious!
Creed: Let me finish the rest of the story for you.
Creed: You used the same old tricks to secretly spark the long-standing feud between the Shadowhunters and their corporate staff.
Creed: Then you intensified the accumulated hatred with the fire!
Creed: You secretly sent someone to kidnap Erwin, which cause the Shadowhunter's military and the corporates to fall into complete disarray.
Creed: Then once again, you show up as the 'savior' to resolve all the issues...
Creed: And use this as an excuse to control the last Shadowhunter family, the Ackley's.
Creed: You are just fulfilling your own selfish desires!
Creed: Am I right?
Derrick: A very interesting theory. Unfortunately...
Derrick: Deepening the division within the Shadowhunters does not do the Derrick family any good!
Creed: Aren't you trying to control the Shadowhunters?
Derrick: Five out of the six Shadowhunter families are already under our control.
Derrick: The Derrick family now has complete authority in the 'Anti-Shadow Council,' which means complete control over the Shadowhunters.
Derrick: The incitement, arson, and kidnapping you talked about are meaningless to us!
Creed: !!
Creed: If it wasn't you, who else could it be?!
Derrick: I suggest you take a look at this.
Creed: ...
Creed: !!
Derrick: The fire was caused by the new flux engine, which belongs to the Calais family.
Derrick: It is a newly designed engine, not available on the market.
Derrick: Therefore, whoever started the fire with the engine must be someone from the Calais family, who knows the engine very well.
Derrick: Combined with the auxiliary investigations...
Derrick: We highly suspect that the culprit of the Elysiann fire is Calais herself!!
Creed: But... why would Calais do such a thing?
Creed: What is her motive?
Derrick: We are still investigating her motives. We don't have a conclusion yet.
Creed: What... what is going on?
Player: Creed, don't you have the messenger crystal that Calais gave you?
Player: Ask her. There may be some misunderstanding!
Creed: No!
Player: Creed... she's your mother!
Creed: ...
Derrick: I'm also curious why Lady Calais would do such a thing.
Creed: Shut up!
Creed: ...
Creed takes out a messenger crystal.
A bright blue ball of light appears in front of Creed
Creed: ...
Creed begins to activate it but then notices something
Creed: Huh?
Creed: No, this is not a messenger crystal!
Creed: This is an arcana beacon!!
Player: Beacon?
Multiple portals suddenly fill the room
Duran: This sensation!!
Duran: This is what I felt when I was chasing that person in the fire!
Creed: What did you say?!
Shadow demons come out of the portals
Player: Shadow! Why is the Shadow here?
Derrick: !!
Derrick: Creed and Player, I can't believe you are colluding with the Shadow!
Derrick: Why hasn't the intelligence unit found out?
Duran: Shut up! There are too many Shadow here!
Duran: We gotta get out of here!!
Derrick: No... No...
Derrick runs away
Derrick: Stay away from me! Traitors!
Derrick: The Shadowhunters will destroy you!
Creed: Hey! Wait!!
A Shadow Bear corners Player, Duran and Creed
Duran: Man...we are done for this time!
Duran: Player, Creed, let's get out of here!!
Creed: Why...
Duran: Creed! This is not the time to think! Kill the enemies first!
Duran: Let's get out of here!!
Creed: Uh...
Creed: I got it!
The three continue to fight their way out of the archives
Duran: Arghhhhh!
Duran defeats a Shadow Wolf
Player: How many Shadow are here?
Player: Creed, is there a way to get us out of here?
Creed: ...
Creed: The Derricks' meeting is in another room which is full of Shadow right now.
Creed: Another way is to use the portal. But it takes at least one hour to prepare the teleportation array.
Shadowbeast: Rooaaarrr!
Duran: Are you kidding me? We'd be lucky if we can hang on for ten minutes!!
Player: I know!
Player: Find the Derrick who was here before!
Player: Derrick knows this place the best!
Creed: ...
Creed: Right... Derrick is our only chance!
Duran: ...
Duran: Dang, we just came out and we have to go back in again.
Duran: Let's go find him then!
Derrick: Ahhhhh!! Leave me alone!!
Duran: We have to be quick!
The three find Derrick surrounded by Shadow monsters
Derrick: Guards! Guards!
Shadowbeast: *Roar*
Derrick: Wooah!
One of the monsters attacks Derrick
Player: Hang in there! We are coming!
The three defeat the monsters
Player: Hey! Are you okay?
Derrick: Why are you here?
Derrick: Where are my bodyguards?
Creed: ...
Creed: We've given you some first aid but this won't last long.
Duran: This is no time to be picky!
Duran: You are seriously injured! Come with us if you don't want to die!!
Derrick: Hm...
Derrick: The meeting hall... has been blocked...
Derrick: We can only... leave from the emergency exit... in the archives room...
Derrick: Follow me...
Moments later, in Derrick's secret emergency exit...
Derrick: This will take us to the streets of Westhold!
Player: Westhold!
Player: Great! We can seek help from the Shadowhunters!!
Derrick collapses to the ground
Derrick: Hmm...
Player: Let's take a break. Derrick can't walk very fast!
Duran: Well... let's take a 3-minute break! We can't let the Shadow catch us!
Derrick: Why are you pretending to be nice now?
Duran: Nice?
Duran: You helped us get out of here. We help you to stay alive.
Duran: This is the trade we just made!
Derrick: Didn't you attract those Shadow?
Creed: Are you an idiot? Why'd we be running away if we brought those Shadow here?
Player: Besides... I thought you are well aware of our movements, aren't you?
Player: We've never had a chance to get in touch with the Shadow at all.
Derrick: ...
Derrick: So you mean...
Shadows: *Roar*
Duran: Why are they so quick?
Derrick: I knew it... I knew you were working with the Shadow!
Derrick attempts to run away but can't get very far before collapsing again
Derrick: Urgh...
Creed: Hey! Don't run!
Creed: Stay with us!
Player: You just opened your wound again!
Creed: Idiot! If you're trying to get yourself killed, you can run the other way!
Duran: He's too injured to walk anymore. I'll carry him on my back!
Moments later...
Player: I think this is it.
Derrick: Urgh... the exit is up ahead...
Duran: Okay. Let's take a break and we can get out of here to look for help!
Derrick: Why did you... save me?
Duran: You helped us get out of here. We help you stay alive...
Duran: Look at it as a contract! I am a mercenary.
Creed: You don't know what happened at the summit, right? Then let's stay alive and go confront Calais!
Player: Anyway! Let's get out of here first!
Derrick: ...
Derrick: Makes sense.
Derrick: I feel better now. Let's go! The Shadows are catching up!
Scene - Westhold city streets
Sometime later, Westhold...
Shadowhunters Soldier: The Shadow! The Shadow has breached Westhold! In the City Hall!
Shadowhunters Soldier: Those freaks! How dare they attack Westhold!
Takashi: All soldiers! Activate the city defense system!
Takashi: Get into formation and keep the Shadow in the City Hall. Don't let them out!!
Shadowhunters Soldier: Yes, sir!
Takashi: Player, Creed, Duran... what happened?
Meanwhile...
Player: Huff, puff...
Duran: We finally got out!
Creed: Let's put Derrick...
Shadowhunters Soldier: Hey! What are you doing?
Duran: !!
Shadowhunters Soldier: Didn't you hear the sirens?
Shadowhunters Soldier: It's very dangerous here! All civilians, go to a safe place!
Player: Someone's injured. Where can we take him to get treatment?
Shadowhunters Soldier: The civilian doctors are all in the shelters now.
Shadowhunters Soldier: Go to the shelter!
Duran: Thank you. We are going!
Duran, Creed and Player take Derrick to the shelter
Shadowhunters Soldier: All civilians evacuated. Lock down the City Hall!
A few moments later...
The Westhold civilian shelters are overcrowded and the conditions are poor.
In order to protect his family's secret, Derrick refuses to use the military hospital, as that would expose his identity.
You have no choice but to take Derrick out of Westhold.
The oasis near Westhold, late-night...
Player: Phew... luckily his wounds are not infected.
Player: As long as...
You notice that Derrick is losing consciousness.
Player: !! Derrick!
Creed: Hey! Hang in there! You still need to confront Calais!
Derrick: It's... fine...
Derrick: I'm not... the only... Derrick...
Derrick: It doesn't matter... if I die... as long as our family...
Derrick: ...
You tried your best, but Derrick eventually dies from blood loss.
Creed: !!
Duran: ...
Creed: Have you heard anything from horn guy?
Duran: Not yet. Relax!
Creed: Blasted!!
Takashi enters
Player: Takashi!
Duran: We almost thought you got in trouble!
Creed: How did things go?
Takashi: The Shadow in Westhold has been eliminated.
Takashi: Luckily the damage is manageable!
Takashi: Who is that?
Duran: The Derrick for the next two weeks. But he's already dead.
Creed: ...
Takashi: Derrick?
Creed: What about the other Derricks?
Takashi: We found a large number of civilian dead bodies in the basement of the City Hall.
Creed: Civilians...
Takashi: I think that's where the Shadow attack started.
Duran: Are there any survivors?
Takashi shakes his head.
Takashi: No...
Creed: ...
Duran: ...
Player: ...
Takashi: The people in the basement were the Derrick's, right?
Takashi: Does that mean, our plan succeeded?
Takashi: But... what happened with the Shadow?
Creed: Horn guy! Lower your voice!
Takashi: What... what happened?
Player: ...
Duran: ...
Creed: It's all my fault.

Destructive Stone

Only the creator of the storm may stop the storm.

-Part 1
Late-night...
Oasis near Westhold, late-night...
Having fallen for Calais's secret plot...
Creed refuses to listen to anyone and takes the airship from Billy...
To confront Calais himself...
Duran: Idiot! Calais must be waiting for him to fall into her trap!
Player: Hmm... Creed...
Player: Where's Calais? I have to go help him!
Player: I can't let Creed confront Calais alone!!
Takashi: If Calais knew that Creed is going for her, she will be waiting for him in her mansion!
Duran: I've looked into her before. Her manor is in the outskirts of Eversun!
Player: Eversun?!
Player: Billy, how far is it from Westhold to Eversun?
Billy: Very far. They are at two opposite ends of the Wonderland continent.
Billy: It will take us at least 2 days to get there without the airship.
Player: What about... a public airship?
Takashi: There are no public airships in Westhold.
Takashi: The closest place where we can find an airship is River Bend Town. It'll take us a whole day to get there.
Player: What?
Player: Dang it... we can't just sit here and let Creed...
Takashi: There's another way, Player!
Takashi: Borrow one in Westhold!
Player: But they are all military airships. Can we really borrow them?
Takashi: I will tell them, it is for investigating the Shadow attack in Westhold.
Takashi: I think I can borrow a high-speed assault airship!
Takashi: Maybe we can even catch up with Creed!
Player: That'll be great! Thank you, Takashi!
Takashi: You're welcome!
Takashi: I'll go back to Westhold now!
Takashi leaves
Player: Great! We can catch up with Creed!
Duran: ...
Duran smiles
A while later...
Takashi borrowed an assault airship from the Shadowhunters.
You board the airship to go after Creed.
Meanwhile...
The Calais manor.
Calais stands at one end of a room, surrounded by bodyguards
Creed: Get out of my way if you don't want to die!
Creed attacks the bodyguards
Calais's Guard: Ouch!
Calais's Guard: Monster!!
Calais's Guard: Let's get out of here!!
Creed: So you finally showed your true colors, Calais!
Creed: Where are your Shadow friends?
Calais: Creed...
Calais: Welcome home.
Creed: Calais!! You must pay the price for what you've done!!
Calais: Price? What price?
Creed: You know it better than anyone!
Calais: Oh, you mean killing the Derrick's?
Calais: You know what the Derrick's have done.
Calais: Those scheming scoundrels have their noses in everything in Luxium!
Calais: Destroying the Derrick family...
Calais: Isn't that what you wanted, Creed?
Calais: Eight years ago, you suggested we go against the Derrick's. At that time, I feared his power and the power of the military families.
Calais: But now, I'm no longer weak. We destroyed the Derrick's together.
Calais: That malicious tumor!
Creed: No!
Creed: It's not my business how you destroy the Derrick's!
Creed: But getting me involved and killing the two engineers who I grew up with...
Creed: Why? Why did you do that?
Calais: Kill... the two engineers?
Calais: Oh, you are talking about them.
Calais: There will always be sacrifices behind every achievement.
Calais: It's their honor to have contributed to the Calais family's revival!
Creed: Humans... are the most disgusting creatures.
Creed: Calais... you will die a horrible death!
Calais: Will I?
Calais's Guard: Protect Lord Calais!
Creed: Get out of the way if you don't want to die!
The bodyguards around Calais transform into Shadow demons
Shadow Demon: Protect Lord Calais!
Creed: ...
Creed: In that case...
Creed: I won't go easy on you!
Creed rushes at Calais but gets trapped in a strange arcana array
Creed: How... how is that possible?
Calais: We specifically designed this to deal with you.
Calais: Not to mention you're just human, even if you are a god, you won't be able to crack it!
Creed: Do you think you can trap me with this arcana?
Creed: Hmm!!
Calais: Save your strength!
Calais: This directional imprisonment array is easy to break from the outside... but impossible to break from the inside!
Calais: I knew you would come. I'm well prepared.
Calais: I didn't think you would walk right into our trap.
Calais: What an idiot!
Creed: ...
Shadow Demon: Lady Calais, how should we deal with this human?
Creed: Don't address me as 'human'!!!
Calais: Kill him!
Calais: Kill this... human!
Shadow Demon: Yes!
Calais: Uh...
Calais suddenly grabs her head.
Calais: Hold on!
Calais: Lock him in the basement. Make sure he doesn't escape!
Shadow Demon: Yes!
Calais: Everyone, attention! It's time to end this!
Calais leaves
Creed: ...
Sometime later, outskirt of Eversun...
Player: How did it go? Did you find Creed?
Billy: I've looked everywhere...
Duran: Player, I've found your airship in the vicinity.
Takashi: I've found traces of combat near the Calais manor.
Takashi: Creed must have already gone in.
Takashi: We are late.
Takashi: When I scouted the place, I only saw traces of fighting.
Takashi: But the mansion is surprisingly quiet.
Takashi: Creed either has won or he has left.
Takashi: Or, Calais has already gotten Creed under control.
Duran: We can rule out the first possibility.
Duran: There's no one in Player's airship.
Player: W... what?
Player: ...
Player: Creed is very strong. Even if he fights against Calais alone...
Player: He won't get caught so easily!
Player: Let's go in! Creed must still be alive!
Duran: Calm down, Player...
Duran: If we enter directly, we may fall into Calais's trap!
Duran: Bandana guy, stay in Takashi's airship.
Duran: Let's go in quietly!
Billy: Oh! Okay!
Billy: Captain, be careful!
Player: Don't worry!
A few moments later...
In the basement of the Calais manor...
Duran: The house is totally empty.
Takashi: Yeah. There are no guards, no maids or workers...
Takashi: It's so strange!
Player: Yeah. But apparently, not long ago, people were still living here.
Takashi: And there's one thing very suspicious.
Takashi: There are traces of Shadow flux in the house.
Takashi: Yet, we don't see any Shadow.
Duran: Hmm...
Duran: We've searched everywhere in the house except this basement!
Player: Yeah!
Player, Duran and Takashi continue searching
Takashi: !!
Takashi: The Shadow flux is getting more and more intense!
Duran: Hmmm... I can smell blood in the air.
Player: ...
Player: Creed...
Player runs ahead
Duran: ...
Takashi: ...
Duran and Takashi follow
The three encounter Creed in an arcana prison along with a well-dressed man, collapsed on the floor
Creed: ...
Player: Creed!
Takashi: Found him!!
Creed: You...
Creed: !!
Creed: Idiots! Stay away!
The three approach the prison but Shadow demons ambush them
Player: !!
Creed: Ahhh... you are so dumb.
Shadow Demon: Just as the Lady predicted!
Shadow Demon: Kill them!!
The Shadow demons begin to create another arcana array to trap the trio
Duran: Seriously? You?
Takashi: Don't underestimate the Shadowhunters!!
Creed: Hey! They are tough!!
Shadow Demon: Fourth Shadow Barrier activated...
Duran and Takashi take out two Shadow demons at the same time which stops the arcana
Creed: !!
Creed: I see... One person can't break through the barrier, but with two...
Player: Creed!
Player: Let me break the array!
While Duran and Takashi deal with the rest of the Shadow demons, Player examines the arcana prison trapping Creed and dispels it
Player: We finally found you! Are you alright?
Creed: O... of course I am fine!
Takashi: Who's the corpse behind you?
Creed: That's Erwin.
Player: Erwin?
Creed: Calais did this.
Creed: The protest in Eversun was also incited by Calais. It was all her!!
Creed: How did you get in? Where's Calais?
Duran: We didn't see her!
Duran: In fact, other than you and that unlucky fellow beside you, there's no one in the house!
Creed: No one?
Creed: Hmm...
Player: Creed, what happened?
Creed: ...
Creed: I fell into Calais's trap.
Creed talks about his confrontation with Calais.
Duran: So it's true that Calais is working with the Shadow now.
Takashi: According to Creed, the Shadow demon is completely under Calais's control.
Takashi: Calais is not only working with the Shadow. She might have joined the Shadow.
Player: And Calais is gathering her troops. She must have other plans!
Takashi: Well... the Derrick family has been annihilated. What else does she want?
Duran: ...
Player: Any ideas, Creed?
Creed: I don't know...
Player: Hmm...
Player: Will Calais attack Westhold?
Duran: Westhold?
Player: If Calais wants to take control of the Shadowhunters, there are only Westhold and the Ackley's left.
Takashi: I don't think so.
Takashi: Westhold is heavily defended. Plus with the Shadow attack that just happened...
Takashi: Not even a fly can get into Westhold right now.
Takashi: So...
Duran: Excuse me, but this is not the best place to be having a discussion.
Duran: Let's return to the airship first!
Player: Duran is right. Let's go!
Takashi: Sure!
Creed: ...
Player: What happened?
Creed: ...
Creed: I'm not leaving with you!
Player: Oh... Creed, don't be like that...
Creed: It's not that!
Creed: Calais knows me inside out. If I stay with you...
Creed: I will be a burden to you! I will never be able to defeat Calais!
Duran: Why did you say that?
Duran: What are you talking about?
Creed: I will just get weak when I'm with you!!
Creed: To be honest, why are you here?
Creed: Are you here to make fun of me?
Duran: Make fun of you?
Duran: Haha! We have better things to do!
Takashi: Creed...
Takashi: Are you a child?
Creed: ...
Creed: What did you say?
Player: Stop it... stop arguing!
Creed: Such a pain in the neck!
Creed: Enough!
Creed: Just leave me alone!
Creed turns his back on his saviors
Creed: I've had enough!
Player: Creed...
Player: (I can't let Creed go on like this.)
Choice 1.1 - We need your help!
Player: We need your help!
Creed: My... help?
Player: Among us, you're the most familiar with Calais.
Player: And you are the only one who confronted Calais face to face.
Creed: Ha!
Creed: You don't have to say that.
Duran: We're not trying to comfort you!
Duran: I'm a mercenary. I'm good at fighting.
Duran: But to deal with a conniving schemer like Calais...
Duran: I don't stand a chance!
Duran: I hate to say it but we need you!
Takashi: Yeah... no matter what Calais's plan is...
Takashi: If we don't stop her, something bad is going to happen.
Takashi: Although you are weird and a pain in the neck...
Takashi: You are smarter than all of us combined.
Takashi: So, please help us!
Creed: But... I...
Creed: I lost to her twice in a row already.
Creed: ...
Player: Lost twice... then just win next time!
Creed: !!
Creed: It's not easy...
Creed: to win.
Choice 1.2 - We can't just leave you and do nothing!
Player: We've been through a lot recently.
Player: I've had enough...' and 'I'll never beat Calais...'
Player: That's not the Creed that I know!
Player: The Creed I know is arrogant but he's a genius.
Player: Have you given up already because of Calais's little tricks?
Creed: ...
Player: You only lost once!
Creed: Twice... I lost twice.
Player: Fine... twice...
Player: So what if you've lost 3 times, we'll win the next time!!
Creed: Win?
Creed: It's easy for you to say.
Conversation continues after choices
Player: This time you have Takashi, Duran and me. The four of us together!
Player: We will have a chance!
Player: A problem that can't be solved by one person, can be easily solved by two!
Creed: Are you talking about... the Shadow demon array?
Player: This time there'll be four of us! We can definitely teach Calais a lesson!
Creed: !!
Creed: ...
Creed: Persuasive human!
Creed: Humph! It's frustrating to have fallen into Calais's trap twice!
Creed: I can't just let this go!
Creed: Calais... must pay the price!!
Player: ...
Duran: ...
Player and Duran smile at Creed's resolve
Takashi: Let's go back to the airship and plan the next move.
Takashi: Speaking of which, we have two airships now.
Suddenly, Takashi's messenger crystal rings.
Takashi: !!
Takashi: It's the Shadowhunter's emergency call!
Takashi: Yes, Takashi speaking...
Takashi: What?!
Takashi: Yes, sir!
Player: Takashi, what happened?
Takashi: ...
Creed: Is it about Calais?
Takashi: The Shadow to the north of Loong mountain is relentlessly attacking our front line.
Duran: !!
Takashi: At the same time, the Shadow inside Luxium is beginning to surround Westhold.
Player: This sounds very serious.
Player: Did Calais do this? That's unbelievable.
Creed: I'm sure it's her!!
Player: But why is she attacking Westhold now?
Takashi: Yeah... even if they concentrate their forces, capturing Westhold won't be easy for the Shadow.
Creed: Won't be easy for the Shadow?
Takashi: Yes! We have many countermeasures against the Shadow.
Takashi: Plus, all the Shadowhunters in Luxium are moving towards Westhold.
Takashi: I would say... the Shadow is heading for imminent defeat?
Creed: Heading for imminent defeat?
Player: Hmm...
Choice 2.1 - Maybe the Shadow is staging a fake attack!
Player: Takashi said, all the Shadowhunters in Luxium will send troops to defend Westhold.
Player: The Shadow may use this opportunity to attack an altar or a Nexus!
Duran: Fake attack?
Creed: It's possible!
Takashi: Hmm...
Takashi: The Shadowhunter's forces deployment at the altars and the Nexuses are very decentralized.
Takashi: But why doesn't Calais attack an altar or a Nexus?
Creed: We can't analyze Calais's behaviors in an ordinary way.
Creed: We can't rule out the possibility that she's been completely corrupted.
Takashi: However, from the Shadow's perspective, they may attack any altar or any Nexus.
Takashi: Before we receive further updates from our allies, let's not take any actions rashly!
Player: Hmm...
Choice 2.1.1 - Maybe the Shadow is staging a fake attack!
Go to Choice 2.1
Choice 2.1.2 - Maybe Calais underestimated the defense of Westhold...
Go to Choice 2.2
Choice 2.1.3 - Maybe their real goal is not Westhold!
Go to Choice 2.3
Choice 2.2 - Maybe Calais underestimated the defense of Westhold...
Creed: That's impossible.
Takashi: Calais is one of the six Shadowhunter families.
Takashi: Even if she doesn't come from a military background, she goes to Westhold a lot and understands the defense deployment of Westhold.
Player: Well...
Choice 2.2.1 - Maybe the Shadow is staging a fake attack!
Go to Choice 2.1
Choice 2.2.2 - Maybe Calais underestimated the defense of Westhold...
Go to Choice 2.2
Choice 2.2.3 - Maybe their real goal is not Westhold!
Go to Choice 2.3
Choice 2.3 - Maybe their real goal is not Westhold!
Duran: Yeah! Now it seems the Shadow's attack on Westhold is rather reckless.
Creed: Clearly, Calais has other motives!
Creed: But what is she planning?
Player: Hmm...
Player: If Westhold doesn't fall...
Player: Oh?
Creed: What are you thinking?
Player: Takashi, if Westhold is besieged, who will leave Westhold?
Takashi: Leave?
Takashi: Oh!!
Takashi: According to Westhold's contingency plan, when Westhold is in danger...
Takashi: The current Roderick will go to the Ursus Altar by heavy airship and command the battle from there!
Creed: Will the Roderick go to the Ursus Altar?
Takashi: Yeah! Ursus Altar will become the temporary command center. If Westhold falls, Ursus Altar will become the next Westhold!
Player: Ursas Altar? I remember some of the troops there have already been sent to deal with the riots in Eversun, right?
Creed: That's it!
Creed: The Roderick is Calais's ultimate goal!!
Takashi: I see...
Takashi: With Derrick out of the picture, Lord Ackley, the current Roderick, is the only one left who possesses actual power!
Duran: Once she gets rid of Lord Ackley...
Duran: The Shadowhunters will be completely under her control. That's Calais's real objective.
Takashi: Dang! She's trying to take control of the Shadowhunters!
Takashi: This is going to destroy the Shadowhunters!
Takashi: We must stop her!!
Player: Yes!
Scene continues after choices
Takashi, Duran and Player prepare to leave
Creed: Hold on!
Creed: If we confront Calais head-on, we may fall into her trap again.
Creed: Maybe we should search her room first.
Creed: We may be able to find a way to deal with Calais!
Duran: Yeah... that's true!
Takashi: Oh... I was too impulsive. Creed, you are right!
Creed: Sigh. Humans...
Player: ...
Player smiles, knowing the Creed he knows is back
After searching the room, it becomes clear that Calais is under the Shadow's control.
The Shadow controls Calais by taking possession of her body...
So Creed specifically designs a way to deal with this situation.
After instructing Billy to take your airship back to Never Isle...
The four of you head to Ursus Altar in the Shadowhunter's assault airship.
The next morning...
Ursus Altar...
Takashi leads Player, Creed and Duran to the entrance of the altar grounds
Four bearman stand guard at the altar
Bearman Guard: This is the center of the Shadowhunter's military command. Lord Takashi, I'm afraid we can't let civilians in.
Takashi: We have something very important for Captain Bernard!
Bearman Guard: I see.
Bearman Guard: Lord Takashi, please let me inform the captain!
Takashi: That's unnecessary! I'll go find him myself!
Bearman Guard: !!
The bearmen stand aside and the party runs into the altar
Bearman Guard: I've never seen Lord Takashi in such a hurry.
Bearman Guard: Maybe something's happened in Westhold.
Farther in the altar...
Bernard gives command to some bearman guards
Bernard: Send two teams on patrol and expand the surveillance radius!
Bernard: Lord Roderick is at the Ursus Altar. We must ensure his safety!
Takashi and the party approach Bernard
Bernard: Commander Takashi, Player, what are you doing here?
Takashi: Lord Ackley, where's Lord Ackley?
Bernard: Lord Roderick's airship has just arrived at Ursus Altar.
Bernard: He should be in the emergency command room now.
Takashi: Phew... Good.
Player: It seems we are ahead of them!
Duran: ...
Duran looks relieved
Bernard: Lord Takashi, has something happened?
Takashi: According to intelligence, someone's planning an attack on the Roderick Lord Ackley!
Bernard: Attacking Lord Ackley?
Takashi: I've informed the Fire Nexus to dispatch soldiers to support Ursus Altar.
Bernard: Support Ursus Altar? What about the Shadow in Westhold?
Takashi: That's just camouflage!
Takashi: Get your warriors ready! We have a serious battle to fight!
Bernard: Yes, sir!
Bernard walks around the altar to give directions to the bearman guards
Duran: We are lucky that Calais has not started.
Takashi: Don't lower your guard! Let's begin tactical deployment!
Takashi: We will go to the emergency command room to protect Lord Ackley.
Takashi: If we come across Calais, Creed, Duran and Player will fight her.
Takashi: I will stay to protect Lord Ackley in case it's a distraction!
Duran: Okay!
Duran: Creed, if I fail to kill Calais, then it's up to you!
Duran: Use the thing you found in her room to take care of her!!
Creed: Yeah...
Creed: According to the information I found in her room, Calais has been possessed rather than corrupted.
Creed: My special arcana bullet can break the possession if I'm close enough to her!
Duran: No Problem!
Creed: But is it... really that easy?
Takashi: Do you think there's a problem with the plan?
Creed: Is it really true that the Shadow managed to possess Calais?
Creed: This piece of information was too easy to find.
Creed: This... could be another trap.
Player: Creed...
Both Choices - Choice 3.1 - "Don't worry, Calais won't see this coming!" OR Choice 3.2 - "Try and you'll find out."
No additional dialog
Conversation continues after choices
Creed: Ahhh... am I really going to take a gamble on this arcana blocker?
Bernard continues to direct more bearman guards
Bernard: Take the soldiers and guard the emergency command!
Bernard: We must ensure the safety of Lord Ackley and Lady Calais!!
Player overhears what Bernard said
Player: What?
Duran: !!
Takashi goes to Bernard
Takashi: What did you say? Lady Calais?
Bernard: Yes. Lady Calais only just arrived at Ursus Altar. She's with Lord Ackley now.
Duran: Ahhhh! Dang it! We are still too late!
Bernard: What... what happened?
Player: Calais is going to attack the Roderick Lord Ackley!
Creed: Calais is a Shadow!
Bernard: What?!
A messenger runs up to Bernard
Altar's Messenger: Captain Bernard! Our brothers on patrol have found many Shadow portals outside of Ursus Altar.
Altar's Messenger: A large number of Shadow are approaching our outer perimeter!
Altar's Messenger: There are too many Shadow! The outer defenses require support!
Bernard: ...
Bernard: Get in touch with emergency command!
Altar's Messenger: ...
Altar's Messenger: No one is answering from emergency command!
Bernard: Uh...
Suddenly, portals appear everywhere
Player: !!
Takashi: I can't believe this...
Bernard: All units, attention! We are under attack!
Bernard: Sir Takashi, I will take my troops to break into emergency command!
Takashi: No! You and the Ursus guards stay here! Leave the Shadow inside to us!
Takashi: Reinforcement from the Fire Nexus will arrive soon. Hang in there!
Bernard: ...
Bernard: Understood! My brothers and I will guard the outside of the Ursus. There will be no mercy to the Shadow!
Billy runs up to Player
Billy: Captain, we are here to help!
Creed: Bandana Pliers?!
Player: Billy, it's very dangerous here! You should go back to Never Isle!
Billy: How can I hide in a corner while you are in danger?
Billy: Don't worry, Captain. We've brought a secret weapon with us!
Creed: We?
Turing comes followed by two of his robots
Creed: The robots from the summit!
Turing: They have been modified based on Mr. Creed's advice. They should be able to fight against the Shadow!
Bernard: Hahaha! Right on time! That's perfect!
Bernard: Sir Takashi and Player! Please take care of Lord Ackley!
Scene - Deep inside Ursus Altar
Grancy defends a door against three Shadowbeasts
Grancy: How many of them are here...
Takashi: Hya!
Takashi takes down the beasts
Grancy: !
Grancy: Commander Takashi, Player and... Colonel Duran!
Grancy: What are you doing here?
Duran: We are here to help!
Grancy: Help?
Creed: Where's Calais?
Grancy: Lady Calais and Lord Ackley are heading to the bunker in the depths of the Ursus.
Creed: Urgh...
Grancy: Sven and the bodyguards are with them. Don't worry.
Takashi: Grancy, Calais is the culprit behind the Shadow attacks and everything!
Grancy: Lady Calais?
Grancy: I see.
Grancy: So that's why Calais has been trying so hard to flatter my father lately.
Grancy: Sven and my father are both in danger!
Grancy: Uh...
Player: Grancy! You are injured!
Grancy: I'm fine.
Grancy: I have to go.
Large Shadow wolves appear out of portals that spring up behind the party
Grancy: ...
Player: There is more Shadow!
Grancy: Takashi, Player! I will hold this spot and block the Shadow!
Grancy: You go!
Player: But... you are injured...
Grancy: I'm fine. I'll catch up with you after I deal with the Shadow!
Duran: I'll stay and help! Creed and Takashi, you go!
Takashi: Hm...
Creed: Don't be a hero! There are so many Shadow, even big guy you...
Duran: Go! Killing Calais is the only way to end this!
Duran: And you are the only one who can kill Calais!
Duran: Creed!
Creed: !!
Creed: Let's go!
Takashi: ...
Scene - Further inside Ursus Altar
Takashi, Creed and Player head towards the bunker and see the fallen bodies of Shadowhunters and Shadows
Takashi: Hmm... it's a massacre...
Creed: I don't see Calais or Ackley's body!
Creed: They must've gone even further!!
Player: Let's go!
The three attempt to go further inside but are stopped by a Shadow Spider Queen
Shadow Spider Queen: Don't... move any further!
Player: Ambush?
Player: It seems Calais really doesn't want to see us.
Takashi: Get ready to fight!!
More Shadow Spider Queens appear
Creed: There are too many enemies! Let's go around them and save some time!
Queens appear behind them
Player: We've been surrounded!!
Takashi: This way!!
Takashi uses one of Creed's flash arcana bullets to blind the queens and escape
Shadow Spider Queen: Useless tricks!
The three manage to escape just outside of the bunker
Takashi: Creed, Player, the Ursus Altar's bunker is just up ahead!
Takashi: Calais and Ackley should be in there!
Takashi: I'll leave them to you!!
Player: What?!
Creed: Are you kidding? Let's deal with these Shadows together!
Takashi: From the look of these ambushes, Calais is clearly trying very hard to stop us from approaching her.
Takashi: They are just here to buy time for Calais!
Takashi: Which means, if we can get to her now, we'll spoil her plan!
Takashi: We must not let Calais succeed!
Creed: But I...
Takashi: Creed!
Takashi: I believe in you, you can end this!!
Creed: ...
Creed: Don't die!
Takashi: Of course!
Takashi: I'll catch up after I take care of the Shadows!
Creed: Player! Let's go!!
Player: Okay!
Player and Creed head inside the bunker
Scene - Inside the bunker
Moments before...
An exhausted Sven casts a barrier between Roderick and Calais with her Shadows
Sven: Hmm...
Sven: I don't know how long this barrier will last.
Shadow Minion: We can't break the flux barrier.
Shadow Minion: We need some time to prepare the flux crystal to break it!
Calais: Fine. Do it now!
Calais walks up to Sven
Calais: Don't be stubborn!
Calais: You are the only one defending Ackley now.
Calais: Without your brother and the ice dragon here. How long will you last?
Sven: You will never touch my father as long as I am here.
Calais: So young and so strong.
Calais: And a Roderick candidate to boot.
Calais: Such a shame for you to die here.
Calais: I'm a businesswoman. Why don't we make a deal?
Sven: In your dreams!!
Calais: Hey, staying alive is more important than anything else.
Calais: Indeed, I have no grudges against you. If you step aside and let us in...
Calais: I'll spare your life. How does that sound?
Sven: Shut up! Traitor! If you want to see my father, you'll have to kill me first!!
Calais: Traitor? Haha! That's ironic.
Calais: Do you know the Calais family pays 500 million gold coins to Ackley as his personal bonus every year?
Sven: Shut up! I'm not gonna believe a single word you say!
Calais: You don't believe me? Then tell me who paid for the glorious Ackley manor?
Calais: The Ackley's don't have any business. And who provides a comfortable life for you and your brother?
Sven: It's the Shadowhunter's military expenditure!
Calais: Military expenditure? Heh, 500 million is not going to sustain the Shadowhunters.
Calais: Your military families are always expanding. The military expenditure we pay has increased from 600 million gold coins 18 years ago...
Calais: To 3 billion gold coins today!
Calais: The money for developing our family business has all been spent on your military expenditure!
Calais: The Calais family... can't afford to raise hungry wolves like you anymore!
Sven: Then... why didn't you tell us? You are one of the leaders of the Shadowhunter families. You could've told my father at the Anti-Shadow Council!
Calais: Do you think I haven't tried before?
Calais: Eighteen years ago, in order to control the Calais's, your father murdered the leader of our family.
Calais: Which was... my father.
Sven: What?
Calais: The Calais family... is only trying to survive.
Sven: !!
Shadow Minion: The fire barrier is weakening!
Shadow Minion: We are about to break the barrier!
Calais: Time is up. You didn't make way. So...
Calais: Go to hell!
Creed: Calais! You are the one who is going to hell!!
Calais: !!
Calais turns around just as Creed attacks her with his scythe
The attack doesn't faze Calais
Calais: Heh! Do you think this is going to hurt me?
Creed: Of course not! But my blade is spiked with a Darkflux blocker!
Calais: What?!
Calais's face becomes twisted from the intense pain.
Calais: Woaaaaaa!!
Shadow Minion: Lady!
Creed: Hey! Fire dragon man, hang in there!
Sven: !!
Sven: Kolkaz!!
Sven takes down his barrier as Kolkaz transforms into a firey spear
Sven attacks the Calais's Shadow Minions and defeats them
Calais suddenly lowers her voice.
Calais?: I am this close to becoming the Shadowlord.
Calais?: I'm not going to fail here!
Shadow flames erupt from Calais and she transforms into a large Shadow Demon
Calais?: Lowlife! Do you think you can hurt me with your little tricks?
Calais?: Thanks to your Darkflux blocker, I can finally remove the weak body of the human.
Calais?: And now, I can unleash my full strength!
Creed: !!
Calais?: Creed, to deal with my ambush, you sacrificed your friends back there!
Calais?: Classic Creed!
Creed: Shut up! No one will be sacrificed. You are the only one going... to die!
Calais?: Ha! Look around you!
Calais?: You've already lost!
A monster growls behind you.
Creed: How...did this happen?
Creed: Have I fallen into another trap again?
Player: Creed, calm down! Although it got bigger, I can feel its Shadowflux is weakening.
Player: She's just bluffing. Your Darkflux blocker has dealt considerable damage to it.
Creed: !!
Player: Can you repeat your attack?
Creed: I need time to prepare a stronger Darkflux blocker.
Creed: Cover me!!
Player: Let me distract it!
Huge Shadow Demon: Lowlife! Tremble before me!
Calais?: Any last words, human?
Player: Last words? You're the one who should say your last words!!
Calais?: Admit it. There's nothing you insignificant humans can do in the face of the mighty Shadow horde!
Player: You're right. Humans are insignificant and no match for you.
Player: But we are aware of our insignificance and we know our limits.
Player: We stick together and unite to form a greater force!
Player: We will crush you and the Shadowlord cowering behind you!!
Calais?: Hahaha! Trying to stall me? In your dreams!
Creed: Hmm... are we running out of time?
Duran, Takashi and Grancy rush in
Duran: Creed! We are here!!
Takashi: We're a little late but we made it!
Grancy: Sven!!
Calais?: Did you clear out the ambush?
Calais?: Im... impossible!!
Grancy: The Shadows outside the altar have all been destroyed.
Grancy: Captain Bernard and the robot troops gave us back up!
Player: Ha! Turing and Billy's robots!
Takashi: Calais! Resistance is futile! Go to hell!
Calais?: Hmm...
Calais?: Destroy them!!
Huge Shadowbeast: Roar!!!
Player: Everyone! Cover Creed and destroy the Shadows!!
Creed, Takashi and Duran battle the Shadow Demon and its minions and defeat them
Calais?: Hmm... I've underestimated you.
Calais?: This is not the end!!
Creed: No!
Creed: This is the end!
Creed: Monster!
With one final attack, Creed knocks down the Shadow Demon
Calais?: Ahhhhh!!!
Calais?: Hahaha... you are... too late!
Calais?: The Shadowhunters... are finished!!
Calais?: The final victory... belongs to...
Calais?: Urgh...
Takashi: Is it over?
Calais: *Cough*
Calais: This is... finally... over... *Cough*
Duran: !!
Duran: Calais is not dead yet!!
Player: Duran, wait!
Calais: I knew it... Creed... you're the only one... who could stop this. *Cough*
Creed: Why?
Calais: *Cough* Drago Mining was going down and that was my only choice.
Creed: Why? Why didn't you come to me instead of the Shadow?
Calais: Creed... *Cough*... It was not easy for you to get out of the family's mess.
Calais: I didn't want to... involve you again.
Creed: !!
Calais: When the Shadow... found me... I already knew the consequence.
Calais: When I tried to get out... I was already trapped.
Calais: *Cough*... There are tens of thousands of employees in Drago Mining... Creed, please...
Creed: Now you think of me, huh?
Creed: Are you kidding me?
Creed: Don't expect me to clean up your mess!!
Calais: S... Sorry...
Calais: My...
Calais: (Calais breathes her last...)
Creed: ...
Player: Creed...
Creed: I'm fine! Leave me alone!
Sven: I just got news from Captain Bernard...
Sven: All the Shadows in Ursus Altar have been eliminated.
Sven: We won!
Player: Phew... Finally...
Player: Hold on! The Roderick, where's Lord Ackley?
Sven: My father is in the bunker. He's fine.
Sven: But is it true what Calais said? Did my father... kill Calais's father?
Creed: Yes...
Sven: So... it's true.
Takashi: Sven, Grancy, the battle is not yet over.
Takashi: Drago Mining's employees are still demonstrating in Eversun.
Takashi: It's just a matter of time before they clash with the peacekeeping forces.
Duran: And what are we going to do about the military expenditures now that Calais and Erwin are dead?
Grancy: Of the six families now only one is left.
Grancy: The Anti-Shadow Council will be merely a name.
Sven: !!
Sven: What... should we do?
Player: The Shadowhunters have existed for thousands of years. Haven't you ever encountered a situation like this?
Grancy: For thousands of years, the Shadowhunters have been controlled by the six families... a situation like this...
Creed: If that's the case, let's demolish everything!
Player: Demolish everything?
Creed: Technology from thousands of years ago means nothing today, same as governing systems!!
Creed: At the end of the day, everything that happened recently was caused by the 'six families' system, isn't it?
Creed: It's caused by the Shadowhunter's 'Military First' tradition, isn't it?
Takashi: ...
Sven: ...
Grancy: ...
Takashi: So... What should we do?
Player: Let's disclose everything!
Sven: Disclose?
Player: Yeah! Disclose all the recent events including the Elysiann fire!
Player: And seek peace with the Calais and Erwin's staff!
Grancy: This is no joke! The Shadowhunters colluding with the Shadow, once this is made public, the consequences will be dire.
Player: Yes, but if we do nothing, the Shadowhunter corporations will leave, then the Shadowhunters are really done for, right?
Grancy: Well...
Player: Everyone in Luxium is aware of the Shadow's threat.
Player: The staff protesting only wants to be treated fairly.
Grancy: ...
Creed: Humans... have 'feelings', right?
Creed: If you are sincere, you will be able to resonate with the protesters' emotions.
Creed: The soldiers who trust you and follow you will understand, won't they?
Takashi: ...
Takashi: I agree to disclose the truth and make peace with the protesters!
Takashi: This is the only way for the Shadowhunters to survive!
Sven: Yes! I agree!!
Grancy: Guess that's our only option.
Creed: ...
Creed smiles
Two weeks later...
Hottie Bar
Player: Duran and I were talking about you!
Player: Creed, Takashi! I haven't heard from you for some time!
Takashi: We'd been incredibly busy. We had to attend the reconciliation meeting with the corporate representatives...
Takashi: And discuss future plans with the Shadowhunter military.
Takashi: And attend joint meetings between business representatives and military leaders, etc.
Player: The Shadowhunters is a huge organization after all.
Player: So how did they go?
Takashi: The structure of the Shadowhunter's high command, the new Anti-Shadow Council, and the relationship with the enterprises... Everything has basically been confirmed!
Takashi: Otherwise, I wouldn't have time to come visit you!
Duran: I heard that Creed attended some meetings too.
Duran: Who would've thought!
Creed: Without the Calais and the Erwin family, I became the only non-military personnel who understands the inner workings of the Shadowhunters.
Creed: The staff from Drago Mining insisted that I go!
Duran: Sure, if you say so.
Player: Hahahaha!
Player: Creed, Takashi, so how did everything go?
Takashi: After we made the recent events public, the corporate employees in the protest were willing to make peace with us.
Takashi: On the military side, although some soldiers decided to quit, most of them still have faith in their officers and are willing to continue fighting for the Shadowhunters.
Player: That's great!
Takashi: The Shadowhunters established a new 'Anti-Shadow Council,' comprising of the Loong Mountain warriors, corporate representatives, experts, and scholars.
Takashi: All the Shadowhunter representatives will vote to decide on important matters!
Takashi: The Council has decided that, from now on, whether you're a Loong Mountain soldier, an altar guard, a Drago employee, or a scholar from Thunder Research Center...
Takashi: Everyone who serves the Shadowhunters is 'Proud Shadowhunters'!
Creed: Although I think this title is rather pointless.
Creed: However, the workers and scholars are so happy, as if it's something precious.
Creed: Anyway, as long as they are happy.
Duran: What about Derrick's intelligence network, the 'Eye of Wonderland'?
Duran: Without the 'Eye of Wonderland,' the black market in Luxium will fall into complete chaos.
Takashi: Don't worry, the Shadowhunters have taken over the 'Eye of Wonderland.'
Takashi: Derrick had been discrete. No one knows that Derrick was the 'Eye of Wonderland.'
Takashi: So our takeover was smooth and we're able to set up our own intelligence department!
Creed: There's one thing that I'm worried about though.
Creed: Neither the Calais's or the Erwin's companies are in great shape.
Creed: During this transition period, it'll cost the Shadowhunters a lot of money.
Takashi: Don't worry. We've made some trade deals with business organizations all over Luxium.
Takashi: Especially the Order of Equality, they will be one of our major partners!
Takashi: Thanks to Player.
Player: I am just a connector, I didn't do anything.
Duran: Looks like things have really come to an end.
Takashi: Yeah...
Duran: I happen to have some good wine here. Shall we open a bottle to celebrate?
Player: Yeah! Hottie, get our best wines from the cellar!
Creed: ...
Creed: You guys have a drink. I'll go get some fresh air on the deck.
Creed leaves
Player: Well... Should I...
Duran: Go ahead, Player!
Takashi: He needs your support!
Player: ...
Player follows after Creed
