Billy - Turing's No.23 assistant

Grew up at Red Harbor and dreams to travel the world. Zealous as he is, he has deft hands.

A charming mechanic who dreams see the world. Knowing his limits won't stop him to do his best.

Intro[]

Billy was a repairman for the Red Harbor Shipyard before becoming Turing's assistant.

Prior to Billy, Turing had gone through no fewer than 22 assistants, for Billy might not be the best, he was the only one able to weather Turing's eccentricity. Turing appreciates it very much, although he'd never say it, and Billy's enthusiasm has rubbed off on him to make him more extroverted.

Billy has served Turing for two years, and while he's nowhere close to Turing's level as a researcher and inventor, he is still quite capable. Take his giant pliers, for instance, which not only is a tool for repairs, but rigged with hydraulics to be a rapid drill when attacking enemies.

Billy has never left Red Harbor but always dreamed of saving up to travel the world. But what would his boss do without him?

Scripts[]

Consolation Letter[]

Though it feels weird that I am writing to someone I meet everyday, still I'd like to write to you. Maybe because some words are better left on paper...

It's such an amazing experience to learn from the boss and travel around the world with you! It's the goodest thing in my life to have met you! Wait, goodest may not be the correct word...

Anyway, I will follow you always, captain!

Bath Drama[]

  • Ahhh! Don't rub that body part with my headcloth!
  • I should invent the underwater massage equipment.
  • Enjoy the bathtub? It's built by Captain and me!

Fave Hottie Slogan[]

Check out my outfit, Captain! Think I can join the contest? You're a judge and can vote?! Then... you're probably going to vote for someone you're close to, right?

Intimacy Breakthrough[]

This section contains spoilers for Intimacy Breakthrough scenes.

-Intimacy Level 4
Billy: Thank you for your gift, Captain! Heh heh.
Billy: Where are we going next?

-Intimacy Level 5
Billy: You don't need to spend so much money on all this stuff!
Billy: Don't you worry. I'm going to work hard.
Billy: I won't let the airship get in another accident!

-Intimacy Level 6
Billy: Ever since I was little, I've been interested in machines.
Billy: But I never had the money to study. I could only work in a factory.
Billy: Until I met the boss. He employed me to become his assistant, and then I could study system machinery.
Billy: I asked him, why did you choose me to be your assistant?
Billy: Guess what he said?
Billy: He said, everyone else got pissed off and left. You were the only one who didn't leave! Haha!

-Intimacy Level 7
Billy: Hey, you're here as well! Don't tell me you just finished watching the Rupor Show!
Player: Yeah! Did we watch the same dance?
Billy: Do you have any Rupor's Autograph shards?
Player: You're collecting pieces, too?
Billy: Yeah! They've been running an event recently. As long as you can collect all nine pieces, you can take a group photo with Rupor!
Billy: Take a group photo with Rupor?!
Billy: Just think, if I can get a bunch of group photos with Rupor...
Billy: And stick 'em all in Master Billy's Luxium Travel Notes, that would look like a pretty badass life, right?!
Player: That's a pretty long title for 'notes'...
Billy: That doesn't matter. What matters is, have you got any Autograph shards?
Billy: I've collected two sets, but they're both missing the middle part. Number 5, the one with his belly!
Player: I think I've got that one. It should be in my bag. You wanna take the airship back with me to see?
Billy: Great! Let's go find it!
Scene transition
Player: This is piece #5, right? Take a look. This is it, yeah?
Billy: Oh! My! God!
Billy: Thank you, Captain, sir! Thank you, Captain, sir! You're the best!
Billy: You're the most reliable guy I know!
Player: Words are useless. How are you really going to thank me?
Billy: Don't worry. You think I'm all talk and no action?
Billy: The next time we fight Shadows together, I'm gonna...
Billy: write in my Master Billy's Luxium Travel Notes what a superhero you are!
Billy: Then you can stand on top of a pile of Shadow corpses and I'll take a picture to accompany the story about you!
Billy: When my book is published, you'll be a hero of Luxium! You'll be a star!
Player: Sounds pretty good...
Player: But you'll want to let me see it when you're finished writing. I don't want you to exaggerate too much!
Player: Don't write stuff like, I kill shadow beasts and demons with my bare hands!
Billy: No worries, Captain!

-Intimacy Level 8
Billy: Even though I didn't stay with him in the end, I still think about him from time to time...
Billy: Anyway, it's pretty nice traveling all over the place now. Hahaha!
Billy: Most importantly...
Billy: I've got a great captain! Heh heh.

-Intimacy Level 9
Billy: The weather is really nice today!
Billy: You can see for miles and miles.
Billy: Captain! Let's go up on deck and check out the scenery!
Billy: ...
Billy: Wow! Look over there!
Billy: The sea looks so beautiful in the sunset!
Billy: I really wanna go for a swim!
Billy: You wanna go with me, Captain?

-Intimacy Level 10
Billy: Captain, have you ever had a dream where you traveled around the world?
Billy: Do you prefer natural scenery? Or seeing places of cultural interest?
Billy: I prefer nature, myself.
Billy: I've been stuck indoors for so long. I can't wait to get out into Mother Nature!
Billy: I want to survey the land from the mountaintops, I want to wade in the water of the lakeside, and I want to roll around in the grass! Haha!
Billy: I especially like stripping down till I'm bucknaked and sunbathing on the beach!
Billy: You wanna go with me, Captain? It feels great!

-Intimacy Level 11
Player: Billy, you've been jumping around all afternoon looking for something. What did you lose?
Billy: My notes! I've lost my notes! Have you seen them?!
Player: Huh?
Billy: Not the Master Billy's Luxium Travel Notes...
Billy: The notes I lost were even more important!
Billy: They're the notes I took when I was apprenticing with the boss. They're called...
Billy: Work Note on Thermal Energy and Power Engineering by Billy, Assistant to Mechanical Master Turing!
Player: My heavens. Why do all your notes have such long titles?!
Player: When was the last time you saw your notes?
Billy: I took my notes with me the other day when I went to repair the engine...
Billy: And yesterday, I took the notes with me when I went to the Rupor Show. Then I came back, and went to the Order of Equality to help Eddie repair some lights...
Billy: Hold on. When I helped repair the Order of Equality's lights, the filaments were broken. I was carrying metal engineering work notes, not my other notes!
Billy: Could I have left it at the Rupor Show?
Billy: If you have time, can you help me look for it now? Please?!
Billy: My notes are extremely important! I can't lose it...
Scene transition
Billy: My notes! Those are my notes!
Billy: That's it! This is Work Note on Thermal Energy and Power Engineering by Billy, Assistant to Mechanical Master Turing!
Player: I did in fact find them at the Rupor Show. Why did you take them there?
Billy: Heh, heh. Uh, don't you think that the lights on the dance stage at the Rupor Show are really cool?
Billy: I...I just wanted to use the thermal energy engineering the boss taught me to analyze them!
Player: While you were watching the Rupor Show, you took the time to...analyze the lights?
Player: I don't believe you.
Billy: Uh... Actually, I just wanted to take these notes and get to know the dance stage equipment engineer...
Billy: I could use them to cozy up to him, maybe learn a few things, become more familiar with the science...
Billy: Then through the equipment engineer, I could meet the stage designer, then through the stage designer, meet Rupor...
Billy: Then I could become best friends with a celebrity!
Player: You must be out of your mind...
Billy: Anyway, because of all this, I almost lost my precious notes...
Billy: The boss always used to compliment me for how detailed my notes were, even if I wrote a bunch of useless stuff down, too...
Billy: If he knew I was planning on using my notes for such a scheme and that I almost lost them because of it, he would be so disappointed...
Player: Didn't he used to say the things you made were ugly?
Player: Maybe if he knew that you met with a stage equipment expert to talk shop and learn a thing or two about artistry...
Player: He'd be pretty proud of you!
Billy: Eh? That kind of makes sense!
Player: And you didn't actually lose the notes, right?
Billy: That's right. You brought my notes back. This is an event worth celebrating!
Billy: Let's go! We're going to have a big feast at the most upscale restaurant I know!
Billy: You can order whatever you want. It's on me!
Player: Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!

-Intimacy Level 12
Billy: If you wanna travel the world, you need to have a ride, a map, some Gold...
Billy: And...a good companion!
Billy: Someone to take in the sights and share in the cuisine with! Someone to help you out!
Billy: All things considered, you make a terrific travel companion, Captain!
Billy: I'd love to be able to see Luxium with you!

-Intimacy Level 13
Billy: I don't have any grand aspirations.
Billy: I just want to invent cool machines...
Billy: See the world while I'm still alive...
Billy: That would be enough for me!
Billy: Maybe it doesn't seem like much.
Billy: I know I've got my limitations. I'm not as grand a character as the boss, that's for sure.
Billy: But as long as I can maintain my own happiness, that would be good enough!
Billy: Live a happy, ordinary life!

Dates[]

This section contains spoilers for Date scenes.

Billy: I don't know what's been wrong with this machine lately.
Billy: Every time it turns halfway, it starts squealing.

-Inspect the top. - 900 Intimacy
Billy: The exhaust port at the top?
Billy: Oh, that's a place that's easy to neglect. Didn't think about that.
Billy: Daily maintenance usually focuses on the base and the chassis.
Billy: We ignore the exhaust port.
Billy: However, if the exhaust port is blocked, the internal air pressure will increase, which could make that sound!
Billy: Let's get to inspection!

-Inspect the base. - 500 Intimacy
Billy: The lower base?
Billy: Doesn't seem too likely to be the problem, but it couldn't hurt to check.
Billy: Let us begin, then.

-Inspect the chassis. - 700 Intimacy
Billy: The chassis?
Billy: Hey, there are a lot of small components in the chassis. Maybe something came loose.
Billy: Not a bad suggestion.
Billy: Let's start the inspection.

Accident

-Intro
Billy: Something's happened at the new laboratory and the boss isn't there. You want to go with me?
Player: Yes.

Billy: The guard says there was an explosion in the middle of the night.
Billy: I don't know what the boss was doing...
Billy: Probably another dangerous experiment.
Billy: We need to check it out.

-Grab a tool bag. - 500 Intimacy
Billy: I've brought every tool we need.
Billy: However, it's always good to be prepared.
Billy: Thank you for bringing it!

Billy: It's good to have your help in cleaning up!
Billy: I don't think I'd be able to handle it myself.
Billy: Tell me if you see anything suspicious.

-Control the flux. - 900 Intimacy
Billy: That's right!
Billy: The boss's experiments often make use of arcana...
Billy: I'm not so good with arcana...
Billy: With you around to control the flux in the area, we can effectively reduce risk!
Billy: Seems like I should bring you along the next time I've got work, haha!

Homebound

-Intro
Billy: Let's go? How about we have a drink?
Player: Yes.
Scene transition
Billy: Ah! How about we have some Red Harbor rock wine?
Billy: No problem.
Billy: But after all, it is my hometown, and sometimes I miss it.

-What's past is past. - 700 Intimacy
Billy: Well said!
Billy: We must look forward!
Billy: Let us drink to the past!

-Wherever you are is home. - 900 Intimacy
Billy: Oh? This is the first time I've heard someone say that.
Player: You mean I adapt to my surroundings?
Player: Neither sentimental to the past nor troubled by future plans.
Player: Comfortable wherever I set foot.
Billy: Yeah, I like the way you put it!
Billy: We should drink together more often! Haha!
Billy: Another drink!

-If I get some free time, I'll go check it out. - 500 Intimacy
Billy: Going back is very convenient.
Billy: But why would I go back?
Billy: I'm afraid I'd just miss it more!
Billy: *sighs*... Another drink!

Malfunction?

-Intro
Billy: Stop! Halt!
Kitty: Why are you still after me?
(A wrench zooms overhead.)
Player: What's going on? This is not how Billy usually treats friends...
Player: What's going on here?
Player: (Stop Billy, find out what's going on)
Scene transition
Player: Kitty, I'll stop him. Run!
Billy: Player, why are you on Kitty's side?
Choice - I guess you'll tear the ship apart if I don't stop you.
Billy: (Looks at the big wrench in his hand.)
Billy: Sigh...
Billy: Sorry captain. I was being reckless.
Choice - Calm down. I'll tell Kitty to apologize to you.
Player: Take a moment and calm down...
Player: Kitty is no match for you if you get serious.
Billy: Sigh...
Billy: I'll apologize to Kitty later.
Conversation continues after choices
Player: What? Kitty made fun of you again?
Billy: Yeah, he put sleep powder in my tea again!
Player: That's Kitty's old trick, isn't it?
Player: How come you fell into the same trap again?
Player: How long did you sleep this time?
Billy: 8 hours, from last night to this morning!
Player: I thought that's how much we usually need.
Billy: Oh... right.
Player: Besides, you never got so mad when he made fun of you!
Player: Is something wrong?
Billy: Alas...
Billy: I really am in a bad mood today...
Billy: I wasn't going to tell you this.
Billy: Our airship has been doing badly since days ago.
Player: Huh? But I didn't find anything unusual.
Billy: Indeed, nothing's abnormal for now.
Billy: But that makes me even more worried.
Billy: A small problem may become a big one if we don't nip it in the bud.
Player: So what made you think something's wrong?
Billy: It was days ago...
Billy: I heard some strange sounds from somewhere on the ship.
Player: Strange sounds?
Billy: I've never heard anything like that before.
Billy: It sounds like a piece of metal crashing into another.
Player: You should have told me immediately.
Player: At least I can give you a hand.
Billy: How can I let you do that?
Billy: At first I thought it was just another piece of cake.
Billy: Never thought it would be so tricky.
Billy: I don't even have a clue so far...
Billy: Besides...
Billy: I lost the present you just gave me.
Player: Forget about the present. I can get you another one if you want.
Billy: Thanks, but you don't have to.
Player: Then again, these strange sounds...

-Choice A: Tell me about it. Maybe I can help.
Player: Tell me about it. Maybe it's not a mechanical problem.
Billy: Alright.
Billy: The sound first appeared in the cockpit. Almost here.
Billy: Then suddenly a 'bang' came from above.
Player: The cockpit? But I didn't hear it.
Billy: At that time, the ship was docked at Never Isle.
Billy: You were helping Eddie to escort the merchant ship.
Billy: I thought the gradienter dropped and made that sound.
Billy: So I climbed up there and opened the ceiling, but the gradienter turned out to be fine.
Billy: So I checked the equipment around and found everything was just fine.
Billy: I thought that was just my imagination! So I didn't pay much attention.
Billy: That night, I was resting in my room.
Billy: And the sound came from under the floor.
Billy: I don't how to describe that sound.
Billy: Under my room is the water storage system. You know how important it is!
Billy: So I went down to check it at once, but I found nothing.
Billy: Only some junk floating in the cooling water sink.
Player: Junk? Is that what made the sound?
Billy: Definitely not.
Billy: Those were a few small, colorful beads. They look like candies in the distance.
Billy: There's no way they make that loud a sound.
Billy: They may have come into the ship from the air system.
Billy: They won't do anything to the ship, but still I got them out.
Player: Do you still have them?
Billy: Huh?
Billy: I threw them away...
Billy: Did I throw away something important?
Player: No, I'm just curious.
Billy: The next day, it came from Hottie Bar.
Player: Hottie Bar this time?
Billy: Yes, and not just Hottie,
Billy: Master Vundo and Master Lan also heard it there.
Billy: It came from the ceiling.
Billy: Up there is the life support system. It's even more important than the sink.
Billy: So I took the toolbox and went in there from the passage only I can take.
Billy: The place was covered with dust. I saw some footprints, and they didn't seem to be an adult's.
Billy: But that's the only weird thing I found.
Player: !!!
Billy: What happened?
Player: Nothing. It's just I never knew you could complete such complicated maintenance all by yourself.
Player: Awesome.
Billy: It's my job, after all.
Player: What is that life support system?
Billy: It supports our life functions.
Billy: Including the production and purification of breathable air...
Billy: The purification of water, the maintenance and control of temperature, etc.
Billy: If something goes wrong with it...
Billy: We'll either freeze or suffocate to death in the sky.
Billy: So the life support system really matters.
Billy: And it's one of the few systems that allows mechanics to access directly.
Player: Did you just say only you can take this passage?
Billy: Yes! 'Cause it's way too important.
Billy: Kitty said I was mean because I didn't let him in.
Player: Have you taken a good look at that footprint?
Billy: It's not a special one, only smaller.
Player: This is way too weird.
Billy: But not the weirdest part!
Billy: On the third day, which is yesterday, the sound came from the kitchen.
Billy: I took the toolbox, opened the ceiling and got half of my body in there to check it.
Billy: Suddenly a circuit board seemed to be dragged out by something.
Player: Did you find out why?
Billy: On the board was a piece of pink clothing.
Player: A piece of pink clothing?
Billy: Yes, but I can't think of anyone in pink on the ship...
Billy: I fixed the circuit board by the way.
Billy: But...
Billy: I lost the present you gave me!
Billy: I love that present and put it in the toolbox, so I can check it from time to time.
Billy: I took it out to look at it before I fixed the air system.
Billy: Then I left it in the air conduit.
Billy: When I realized it and went back to get it, it was gone!
Player: !!!
Billy: I was gonna patrol around the ship all night last night.
Billy: I was determined to find out the problem!
Player: But Kitty's sleep powder made you sleep till this morning, right?
Billy: Hm...
Billy: So this is what's been bothering me.
Billy: Do you have any clues?

-Choice A.1: I wanna know more about that sound.
Billy: So which day would you like to know more about?

-Choice A.1.1: Day 1
Billy: On the first day, I heard the sound twice. The first time was in the ceiling of the cockpit.
Billy: The second time was in the water storage system under my room.
Billy: I didn't find anything wrong in either of them.
Billy: It's just there was some junk in the sink. They looked like colorful candies in the distance.
Billy: The drinking water system was fine, 'cause it was completely sealed.
Choice - I wanna know more about that sound.
Go back to Choice A.1
Choice - I have some other questions for you.
Go to Choice A.2

-Choice A.1.2: Day 2
Billy: On the second day, the sound came from Hottie Bar.
Billy: Hottie told me there was a strange sound in Hottie Bar.
Billy: Master Vundo and Master Lan were also there.
Billy: They heard the sound, too.
Billy: The sound came from the life support system.
Billy: It only has one passage, and only I'm allowed to enter it.
Billy: The passage was covered with dust, and I saw footprints which were smaller than an adult's.
Billy: Nothing was wrong with the system itself or the passage.
Choice - I wanna know more about that sound.
Go back to Choice A.1
Choice - I have some other questions for you.
Go to Choice A.2

-Choice A.1.3: Day 3
Billy: That was the weirdest day.
Billy: The sound came from the kitchen.
Billy: I went up into the ceiling and found a circuit board was dragged out by something. There was a piece of pink clothing there.
Billy: I fixed the board by the way.
Billy: But the present I left in the air conduit was gone.
Choice - I wanna know more about that sound.
Go back to Choice A.1
Choice - I have some other questions for you.
Go to Choice A.2

-Choice A.2: I have some other questions for you.
Billy: I can answer all of your questions, as long as they are related to the ship.

-Choice A.2.1: Is the air system connected to all the areas of the ship?
Billy: Yes, basically.
Billy: There is an air system as long as that place is used by people, or may be used by people.
Player: Is it possible to hide in the air conduit?
Billy: Hide in the air conduit? No way.
Billy: The conduit is like, this wide I guess?
Billy: (Show a size with his hands)
Player: (It's 0.7 times as wide as Billy's chest)
Player: (There's no way an adult gets in there.)
Player: It's too narrow for you to get in there, Billy.
Billy: Yeah, so I always remove the conduit when I need to fix something.
Billy: I can at most get my head in there.
Player: You're too strong. What about Kitty? He's much smaller.
Billy: He can't, either.
Billy: He tried to get in once.
Billy: Then he got stuck at the corner.
Billy: I got him out.
Billy: And he still said he would fit in as long as the conduit was a little bit wider.
Choice - I wanna know more about that sound.
Go back to Choice A.1
Choice - I have some other questions for you.
Go to Choice A.2
Choice - I already know what happened!
Go to Part 2

-Choice A.2.2: Do you still remember our route during those 3 days?
Billy: Yes.
Billy: We spent most of the day on Never Isle, and flew in Luxium at night.
Player: Oh right. We went to wipe out the Darkflux monsters.
Player: We almost never landed.
Choice - I wanna know more about that sound.
Go back to Choice A.1
Choice - I have some other questions for you.
Go to Choice A.2
Choice - I already know what happened!
Go to Part 2

-Choice A.2.3: Who has been in and out of the ship during those 3 days?
Billy: There were a lot of them. Almost every Gyee you know on Never Isle has been here.
Billy: But they came grab a drink and have a bath in Hottie Bar.
Billy: Most of them didn't stay long.
Billy: Master Vundo was the most regular visitor.
Billy: Master Lan also stopped by for 2 days.
Choice - I wanna know more about that sound.
Go back to Choice A.1
Choice - I have some other questions for you.
Go to Choice A.2
Choice - I already know what happened!
Go to Part 2

-Choice A.2.3: What were Master Vundo and Master Lan talking about at that time?
Billy: Let me think about it.
Billy: I guess they were talking about Arcana and Flux and stuff.
Billy: I don't know the details.
Player: In Hottie Bar?
Billy: It seems some of Master Vundo's students are going to take the graduation examination these days.
Billy: The academy requires Master Vundo to stay out of it.
Billy: Master Vundo has nowhere to go, so he came to Hottie Bar.
Billy: But Hottie Bar is a good choice indeed. You can drink, bathe and swim here.
Choice - I wanna know more about that sound.
Go back to Choice A.1
Choice - I have some other questions for you.
Go to Choice A.2
Choice - I already know what happened!
Go to Part 2

-Choice B: Go for it. I'm sure you can nail it yourself. - 700 Intimacy
Billy: Thanks for trusting me.
Billy: This is the first time I run into such a problem in my career.
Billy: But, I can fix it as long as it has something to do with the machines!
Choice - Sure, I trust you!
Billy: Thanks, captain.
Billy: Wait for my good news!
Scene ends
Choice - Maybe it's not a mechanical problem.
Go to Choice A
Choice - Shall we turn to Master Turing?
Go to Choice C (no Intimacy rewarded)

-Choice C: Shall we turn to Master Turing? - 500 Intimacy
Player: You've been too busy these days. You got dark circles already.
Player: I think you need a good rest.
Player: I'll turn to Master Turing.
Billy: I'm fine. I didn't sleep much indeed.
Billy: But I had the longest sleep last night.
Billy: Thanks to Kitty's sleep powder...
Billy: Could you not turn to boss for now?
Billy: I don't look forward to becoming a master mechanic like boss...
Billy: But at least I wanna become a good one.
Player: Take a good rest. Your health is more important.
Billy: Alright...
Scene ends

-Part 2
Billy: Wow, that's my captain!!
Billy: Tell me what actually happened then!
Player: The one behind this is...

-Choice A: Kitty! - 900 Intimacy
Billy: Kitty!?
Player: Think about it. When you were gonna patrol at night...
Player: Kitty used the sleep powder to make you sleep.
Player: He must have done this because he didn't want you to find out his mischief!
Billy: Huh?
Billy: But I don't think it's him.
Player: Huh? Why?
Billy: Kitty was not on the ship when the sound appeared.
Player: What?
Player: Argh, I wronged him.
Billy: Thanks. I'll figure it out myself.
Scene ends

-Choice B: Yaen! - 900 Intimacy
Billy: Yaen? I don't think so.
Billy: Yaen didn't even get onboard these days!
Player: There was no record indicating her entry.
Player: That's not a problem for the Genius Witch, right?
Billy: Indeed.
Billy: But where has she been these days?
Player: Hiding in the air conduit!
Billy: The air conduit? No way. Not even Kitty can get in there.
Player: But Yaen is even smaller than Kitty.
Player: She's just a 10-year-old girl, after all.
Player: On the first day, I guess she was running in the conduit for fun.
Player: Then she ran into something and you heard it from the cockpit.
Player: That night she was thirsty, so she ran to the water storage system.
Player: And she dropped her candies by accident when she was having water.
Billy: What? Thank goodness the cooling water is clean.
Billy: She'll be in trouble if she had other water.
Player: On the second, she must have wanted to go to Hottie Bar, but Master Vundo was there.
Player: I guess she made a sound while running away.
Player: On the third day, she must be hungry and followed the scent to the kitchen.
Player: Then you went there, so she had to run away. She even damaged the circuit board and broke her clothes on the way.
Player: She must have taken the present you left in the conduit, too.
Billy: That makes sense.
Billy: But why doesn't Yaen come out now?
Player: It's not that she doesn't want to, but she can't.
Player: I guess that little girl upset Master Vundo again.
Player: Master Vundo has been on the ship in daytime, right?
Player: We almost never landed at night. If we did, it was in the wild.
Player: She must be afraid we would hand her over to Master Vundo if she came out.
Player: After all, she's still afraid of Master Vundo when he gets mad.
Yaen's voice suddenly comes from above
Yaen: Hey! Since you know it's me, why don't you let me out now!?
Yaen: The Genius Witch is starving!!
Scene ends

-Choice C: Shadow! - 900 Intimacy
Billy: Huh? Shadow?
Billy: That's impossible.
Billy: We have a Shadow monitoring system on the ship.
Billy: Besides, Never Isle has a Shadow barrier.
Billy: There's no way a Shadow comes into our ship without being noticed.
Player: Re-Really?
Player: All right. I thought only a Shadow could do something that weird...
Player: Sorry I can't help, Billy.
Billy: It's okay. I'm happy you tried to help.
Scene ends

-Choice D: Ghost! - 900 Intimacy
Billy: What's a ghost?
Player: Ghosts are monsters living in the spiritual world!
Player: We can't see them!
Player: Everything's working as usual on the airship, but there are strange sounds from time to time.
Player: It must be a ghost!!
Player: The Feng Shui is probably bad here.
Billy: Feng Shui?
Player: Generally we can't see a ghost. We gotta find a master to dispel it!
Billy: Hahahaha!
Player: What's so funny, Billy?
Billy: Are you all right? You sound like a liar.
Billy: There's no ghost. Hahaha!
Player: What? You gotta trust me. This is the only explanation!
Billy: Haha, let me catch that ghost for captain now!
Billy: Hahahaha!
Scene ends

Trifle[]

This section contains spoilers for the Trifle.

The Next One?

Billy is going to leave Turing and set off fresh with you.

He wants to find Turing an assistant and hasn't decided whom it will be. Do you wanna help him?

-Part 1
Player: You're here.
Player: I heard you need my help?
Billy: Ok.
Player: Eh? Why does it seem like there's something different about you today...

-Choice A.1: Maybe it's the mouth sores?
Billy: No.
Player: Stop joking around. Don't be mean.
Billy: That's right. I've been trying to look more like him. What do you think? Do I look like him?

-Choice A.2: Have you gotten taller? Maybe a little stronger?
Billy: You think so?
Billy: I don't think your guess is right.
Player: Stop joking around. Don't be mean.
Billy: That's right. I've been trying to look more like him. What do you think? Do I look like him?

-Choice A.3: Are you trying to imitate your boss? - 5 Intimacy
Billy: Suddenly, I can see it.
Billy: Haha, I look like him from the side, don't I?

Player: Why do you spend your free time trying to look like him?
Billy: You see, I've thought a lot about it. I owe the boss a lot.
Billy: I learn a lot from him, he pays me... and yet I feel like I haven't really helped him all that much.
Billy: In the blink of an eye, I'm going to be following you around the world, leaving the boss here on this island...
Billy: The boss is rebuilding his laboratory now. In his greatest moment of need, I...

-Choice B.1: Help him find a new assistant! - 8 Intimacy
Billy: I was thinking the same thing!

-Choice B.2: You're already equal to the task! - 5 Intimacy
Billy: You say that...
Billy: But I still don't feel like I've done enough. That's why I want to help him find a new assistant.

-Choice B.3: What does this have to do with trying to imitate him?
Billy: Don't be impatient.
Billy: I've finally thought of a way that I can help the boss find a capable assistant!

-Choice B.4: Then stay on the island and help him. - 5 Intimacy
Billy: I can't do that! What you do about the airship?
Billy: You saved our lives. The boss and I promised to help you find a way home.
Billy: I'm a man of my word. I'm not going to abandon you before the job is done!
Billy: Besides, if I left halfway through, wouldn't that also mean the boss couldn't keep his promises, either? That he's ungrateful for your help?
Billy: So I'm determined to help the boss find a new assistant!
Billy: I'm going to find someone even more competent than I am! An even more capable assistant!

Billy: I've already told the boss about this, and he agrees.
Billy: I'm practicing imitating the boss because I'm preparing to interview these assistants.
Billy: I need to reflect dignity, calmness, and stability. That's what a master's assistant should really be.
Billy: I cannot let the applicants come in and start looking down on the boss.
Billy: The boss's reputation is much larger than it used to be. This task has taken more than a week already. We've received over two hundred application letters!
Billy: And they were all high quality!
Billy: I've narrowed the list down to four candidates I think would be good...
Billy: These four all have the proper skills, but I want to get a feel for their characters and then interview them!
Billy: So I wanted to invite you to accompany me and help brainstorm ways to impress them!
Billy: Here is the list of candidates. Check it out.

-Choice C.1: All right. Who are the candidates? - 8 Intimacy
Go to Part 2

-Choice C.2: This sounds like a real pain in the neck. I don't wanna go.
Billy: I see... All right.
Player: All right. You can take the airship. I'm going to the island for a couple of days.
Billy: Alright...
Billy: Can I really do it alone? What if the boss is unsatisfied?
Scene ends.

-Part 2

-Choice A: Genius Instructor Thomas
Billy: Mr. Thomas graduated from Never Isle Arcana Academy, just like the boss. Though he graduated several years before the boss did.
Billy: He's also been called a genius. It's said he even graduated at the top of his class!
Billy: He's especially well-researched in the areas of Flux and Material Sciences. These areas make heavy use of Arcana and engineering.
Billy: Furthermore, he also seems to have an understanding of machining. I remember the boss has read some of his papers on machines!
Billy: When the boss first started reading them, he said it was all nonsense...
Billy: But he kept reading. When he finished, he said 'Hmm. Theoretically, this is actually feasible!'
Billy: He smiled as he said it, too, so I remember it very clearly. The boss seems to really admire him!
Billy: He took up a teaching position at the Arcana Academy a year ago. Previously, he worked for the Order of Equality and the Oathblades!
Billy: I've heard he even went on a mission to help Miles take out some enemies.
Billy: What do you think about him?
Choice - How is his technique?
Billy: There's no need to worry about that. An assistant's most important criterion is his technique.
Billy: I've come to understand that his craftsmanship is good. He's especially skilled at building complicated and precise instruments!
Billy: However, the cover letter doesn't indicate what kind of person he is.
Billy: We don't know much about him. We need to meet with him face-to-face first.
Billy: We'll need to talk with people who are familiar with him. I've contacted Miles, Kitty, and President Vundo!
Billy: Let's go!
Choice - Why does he change jobs so often?
Billy: That's right. That's a question I have, too!
Billy: We don't know much about him. We need to meet with him face-to-face first.
Billy: We'll need to talk with people who are familiar with him. I've contacted Miles, Kitty, and President Vundo!
Billy: Let's go!
Choice - Not only is he a Gyee, but he's so qualified!
Player: He can do the work of an assistant and can discuss science. He can also fight, which means he could act as bodyguard, too!
Player: He also has a passion for work. He doesn't want a comfy, tenured position like being a teacher at the academy. He wants to help out Master Turing!
Billy: Mmm. However...
Billy: We don't know much about him. We need to meet with him face-to-face first.
Billy: We'll need to talk with people who are familiar with him. I've contacted Miles, Kitty, and President Vundo!
Billy: Let's go!
Choice - But in case we don't want to hire him, asking President Vundo...
Player: If President Vundo finds out he's planning on leaving his job, and that he'd be quitting teaching to work as an assistant for a former student...
Billy: Yeah. This might have a bad impact on him...
Billy: I don't think that's ideal, either, but for the boss's sake, I want to know everything there is to know about him...
Choice - All right. Let's go.

-Genius Instructor Thomas
Young Male Teacher: Hello. Might you be Master Turing's assistant, Mr. Billy?
Thomas: I am Thomas, Professor of Flux Studies. It is an honor to meet you.
Billy: ...
Player: (Weren't we going to talk with President Vundo first? What a surprise we ran into him directly...)
Thomas: You are...
Choice - I'm Mr. Billy's assistant. Hello. - 5 Intimacy
Choice - I'm Billy's friend. Hello.
Conversation continues after choices.
Thomas: Hello.
Billy: Uh, Mr. Thomas. We are here today...
Billy: To give you an interview.
Player: (Whisper) Hey...
Choice - Didn't you want to learn more about him first?
Player: (Whisper) We can't exactly ask him these kinds of questions directly...
Billy: (Whisper) But we ran into him. What else can I do?
Player: (Whisper) I think if you ask him any questions on the knowledge level, he'll run circles around you...
Billy: (Whisper) I know that. So what can I do?
Choice - Have you even prepared any interview questions?
Billy: (Whisper) I prepared questions. But I think they're probably too easy for him...
Billy: (Whisper) Well if you're trying to stump him, I don't think I'll be any help, either...
Billy: (Whisper) I'm no academic...
Player: (Whisper) He's gonna play to his strengths, so you'd better not strain yourself...
Conversation continues after choices.
Choice - (Help Billy out.) - 8 Intimacy
Player: It's like this, Mr. Thomas.
Player: We have carefully studied your texts and papers. We've also disassembled and analyzed the instruments you've designed.
Player: We believe that you meet our requirements in terms of expertise and skill.
Player: However, we have some other questions that we'd like to ask you.
Billy: (Whisper) Thanks! It's a good thing I brought you with me!
Player: (Whisper) Watch your expression! Be a little more serious! Also, if you've got any questions to ask, you'd better ask them quick!
Billy: Uh, if I may, why do you want to become the boss's... er... Master Turing's assistant?
Choice - (Billy can handle this himself, right?)
Billy: We've read your papers. They're very good.
Billy: As for your creative spirit and your designs that challenge conventional thinking, boss... er... Master Turing is very pleased.
Thomas: Oh? Thank you.
Billy: Uh, so at this time, there are some other questions I'd like to ask you.
Billy: If I may, why do you want to become Master Turing's assistant?
Conversation continues after choices.
Thomas: Firstly, I would be good at it.
Thomas: Although I come from a background in Arcana, I am also deeply engaged by the study of Flux.
Thomas: I have many opinions about the collection, use, and storage of Flux.
Thomas: I am confident that I will be able to carry out completely new methods for improving the energy systems of all kinds of machines.
Thomas: All I lack is a platform that allows me to carry out my talents and ambitions.
Player: (This guy sure is arrogant...)
Thomas: Secondly, I have an aspiration.
Thomas: Mechanical engineering is far more efficient and effective when it comes to the use of Flux than Arcana.
Thomas: I have made this subject the target of my life's research.
Thomas: And as a leading scholar, all Master Turing needs to do is say a couple of...
Billy: flattering things, from time-to-time.
Billy: You've previous worked for the Order of Equality and the Oathblades. Now you are back at the Academy...
Billy: You don't feel like you've changed jobs too often?
Thomas: A wise person chooses the best master to serve. I don't think it too frequent at all.
Billy: What if you found a job you liked more than being Master Turing's assistant?
Thomas: Do you have that little confidence in Master Turing?
Billy: ...
Billy: Well, that's all I wanted to ask. Do you have anything you want to ask him?
Choice - (Embarrass him by asking him the trolley problem.)
Player: (Hold on, I don't think trolleys exist in this world. I need to find a better way to word it...)
Player: If you were a guard in a village and a murder occurred in your village...
Player: The vast majority of people in the village believe Timmy is the guilty party, but you know that he's innocent.
Player: Unless you immediately hang Timmy, a riot will break out in the village, and more innocent people will die.
Player: What would you do?
Billy: (Whisper) My god, this question is... dark.
Thomas: I would have no choice but to hang Timmy.
Billy: (Whisper) Well he sure didn't hesitate with that answer.
Choice - (Give him a marketing question.)
Player: You've been tasked with selling a trash can for 20,000 Gold. How do you go about doing it?
Thomas: I'd let Master Turing use it for a week, and then I'd sell it once he'd filled it with his trash blueprints.
Billy: ...
Thomas: Of course, I'm only joking. How could I ever sell Master Turing's work?
Thomas: But a thing's intrinsic value is far more important than its extrinsic value. I trust we agree on that?
Thomas: Or, I would turn it into a piece of art.
Thomas: But this does not seem to be relevant to our work, does it?
Choice - (Give him a math problem.)
Player: What is the sum of all numbers from 1 to 100?
Thomas: 3... 6... 10... 15...
Player: 30 seconds pass...
Thomas: 5050
Player: You took that long to add it all up, but you didn't stop to think that you could just add 1 to 100, 2 to 99, and so on, fifty times?
Thomas: ...
Billy: (Whisper) Haha, that was a good question. Give him a chance to show off how smart he is!
Billy: (Whisper) Although he's good with math, he took a 30 seconds to answer the question...
Billy: (Whisper) I didn't even get halfway through it.
Choice - (Give him a philosophy question.)
Player: If Ka is omnipotent, is she capable of creating a stone that she cannot lift herself?
Billy: (Whisper) How is he supposed to answer this one?
Thomas: ... If you're just trying to deliberately stump me, I'm afraid I haven't the time.
Choice - Nope.
Player: Thank you. You can go back now. We'll let you know the result.
Thomas: Good bye.
Conversation continues after choices.
Billy: Let's go find President Vundo.
Scene transition
Kitty: Everyone likes Mr. Thomas.
Kitty: One time he was teaching a class on Flux. When he realized we didn't understand what he was talking about, he took us off the island to observe it ourselves!
Kitty: To behold it in person, to understand Flux as it flows in nature...
Vundo: Humph. I don't deny that this style of teaching can be instructive.
Vundo: But isn't he a little too arrogant?
Vundo: He knew I wouldn't agree, so he didn't even seek my approval?!
Vundo: He took you out for a field trip. What if something happened? Would he take responsibility?!
Kitty: But nothing did happen...
Vundo: Humph, but what if?! A teacher should not do things that they cannot bear the consequences for.
Vundo: That's right, aren't you here to ask about how he stacks up to Turing?
Vundo: There is no comparison! Master Turing has forgotten more than he has ever learned!
Vundo: Thomas is merely a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none. Even though he's got an active mind and he's a quick learner...
Vundo: Everything's just a flash in the pan to him. He is too fickle with his studies and never just sits down to conduct a thorough investigation!
Vundo: Moreover, he's a strict utilitarian. All he ever cares about is results. He utterly lacks a scholar's manner!
Vundo: But he is the most erudite and best teacher among the younger generation of instructors...
Vundo: In addition, if he can achieve what he has despite his fickleness, it shows that he truly is gifted...
Vundo: Besides, his spirit for innovation and initiative is really admirable.
Scene transition
Miles: Who are you all talking about?
Vundo: You jackass, haven't I told you not to bring that wolf in here?!
Miles: ... I forgot.
Vundo: Humph. At least Grey is behaving himself. Just pay attention next time.
Billy: Miles, do you know Thomas? He used to be one of your brothers in the Oathblades...
Miles: Thomas? Brother?
Miles: The guy who's always shouting at me to come over from far away? That guy?
Miles: I've never thought of him as a brother.
Miles: Because that's the kind of guy that would never get that close to someone else.
Miles: I've got something to attend to, President Vundo. I'm heading back.
Vundo: We're leaving now. Think it over some more, Billy.
Vundo: Oh, and don't let Miles mislead you.
Vundo: An intellectual like Thomas who has a high opinion of himself would never get along with a guy like Miles. That's normal!
Billy: All right. Thank you, President!
Billy: I think President Vundo and Miles are right.
Billy: The boss wouldn't like that kind of guy.
Billy: What do you think?
Choice - When all is said and done, Turing does admire the guy's work. - 5 Intimacy
Player: I think if you put those two together, they'd get into too many disagreements.
Player: President Vundo said his innovative spirit is admirable, so don't you think he'd give Master Turing a lot of good ideas?
Player: If worst comes to worst and Turing doesn't like him, do you think he'd dismiss him?
Player: But up until that point, they'd learn a lot from their talks together.
Billy: Hmm... you're right...
Billy: Let's go see some of the others!
Billy: I hope that we can avoid anything embarrassing happening this time...
Choice - Yeah, he's too full of himself. - 8 Intimacy
Player: He's arrogant, fickle, hypocritical, and seems pretty irresponsible.
Player: All the talent in the world couldn't make up for those shortcomings.
Billy: Yeah, you're right!
Billy: Let's go see some of the others!
Billy: I hope that we can avoid anything embarrassing happening this time...
Conversation continues after choices.
Go back to the start of Part 2

Choice - Let me take a look at the other candidates first.
Go back to start of Part 2

-Choice B: Senior Worker Hogan
Billy: Mr. Hogan is the master of the master I worked for when I first started in this line of work.
Player: He's very experienced!
Billy: Yeah. He's the most experienced worker I know of.
Billy: He's got 5 years of experience working in a mine, 7 years of experience with machine tools, 3 years of experience maintaining steam boats, 4 years of pipeline engineering...
Billy: 8 years of experience manufacturing machines, and so... Altogether, he's got 32 years of work experience!
Billy: He's very famous in Red Harbor, but he was picked up by the Order of Equality several years ago!
Billy: The Order of Equality spent a lot of money on an airship blueprint the boss made. Mr. Hogan was the one in charge of making adjustments and leading the workforce on the project!
Billy: Although they worked slow, and the overall quality of the airship wasn't as good as ours, it could carry a much heavier load!
Player: That's amazing!
Choice - But why doesn't he want to be a boss himself?
Billy: I'm not too sure about that myself. Maybe he just doesn't want to be a boss?
Billy: We're technically-oriented people. Even if a management job paid more, I don't think I'd want to do it.
Billy: After all, I wouldn't be good at it. I wouldn't enjoy it.
Billy: Oh, yeah. Regarding Mr. Hogan...
Billy: *sighs*... Truth is, I once heard my master say that he likes to drink alcohol and often goes gambling...
Player: These are big shortcomings!
Billy: Yeah. That's why I want to go talk with people who are familiar with him face-to-face...
Billy: If he's unable to stop drinking and gambling, then we can't hire him...
Billy: Let's go find Eddie first. We'll have Eddie take us to the factory where Mr. Hogan works.
Choice - Everyone's got shortcomings. What do you know about his?
Billy: He's got a pretty heavy accent, though not so much that you couldn't understand him.
Billy: He's a little older. His way of thinking might be more old-fashioned.
Billy: However, seeing the modifications he made to the Order of Equality's airship, I feel like he's also got a creative spirit!
Choice - This guy would be a big get!
Billy: Yes. However...
Conversation continues after choices.
Choice - All right. Let's go.

-Senior Worker Hogan
Eddie: This is the factory where Mr. Hogan works.
Billy: I'm very curious. How did you manage to snag such a great worker?
Eddie: Isn't it obvious? It's because Mr. Hogan is a Gyee!
Billy: ...
Middle-aged Cleaner: Boss Eddie!
Middle-aged Worker: Boss Eddie, hello!
Player: Haha, hello, Boss Eddie!
Eddie: Stop teasing me...
Eddie: Let's be a little more formal. These two are my friends. They're here to learn about Mr. Hogan's personality.
Middle-aged Worker: Mr. Hogan's personality? Say no more!
Middle-aged Worker: You can ask anyone here, they all like that old guy a lot!
Middle-aged Worker: Especially the lower-level employees. He pampers them, takes good care of them, and never puts on airs!
Middle-aged Cleaner: As far as managing them, he doesn't let them litter all over the place, so he's made a good impression on me, too!
Billy: Mm. Actually, what I wanted to know is...
Billy: I heard that Mr. Hogan used to like to drink and would sometimes gamble...
Eddie: Gamble? How have I never heard about this?
Middle-aged Worker: Yes. Before, he liked to drink, and he did like to gamble. He even lost quite a bit...
Middle-aged Worker: But that was all over two years ago. Back then, Mr. Hogan was over in Red Harbor. Boss Eddie must not have known about it.
Middle-aged Worker: But now he's a changed man. He rarely drinks, and never talks about gambling!
Billy: (Whisper) If this is true, then he's the guy! Let's pick him!
Eddie: Hmm... do you know why he gave up drinking and gambling?
Middle-aged Worker: Ah. I'm not sure why. Anyway, these are bad habits to keep, so...
Eddie: Did it take him long to quit?
Middle-aged Worker: I think he kicked the habits pretty quick!
Middle-aged Cleaner: Seems like Mr. Hogan does what he says he's going to do! He has real determination!
Middle-aged Cleaner: My family's been planning to quit for five years!
Eddie: All right, thank you. We'll let you get back to you work.
Middle-aged Worker: Sure thing, Boss Eddie!
Eddie: As far as I know, gambling and drinking are two habits that are hard to kick. I wonder if there's something else at play here ...
Eddie: The people at the Order of Equality's factory really seem to like him.
Eddie: Why does he want to become Turing's assistant?
Choice - Yeah. We'll really need to put some thought into this!
Billy: Thank you, Eddie. We'll think this over!
Eddie: All right. You guys wait here. I'll go get Mr. Hogan!
Choice - Perhaps it's his life's dream? - 8 Intimacy
Player: Maybe he wants to work with Master Turing to create a some groundbreaking invention?
Eddie: Haha, yes. I suppose the explanation's not so difficult.
Eddie: All right. You guys wait here. I'll go get Mr. Hogan!
Choice - Are you worried we'll snatch him up?
Eddie: Who do you take me for!
Eddie: Mr. Hogan sent the application letter. It's up to him. Why would the Order of Equality interfere?
Player: Sorry, sorry...
Eddie: All right. You guys wait here. I'll go get Mr. Hogan!
Conversation continues after choices.
Billy: Mr. Hogan, it's nice to meet you. I'm Billy.
Mr. Hogan: Ah, h'llo! M Hgn!
Player: (Whisper) What did he say?
Billy: (Whisper) I think he said... 'I'm Hogan.'
Player: (Whisper) I thought you said the accent wouldn't be too strong to understand...
Mr. Hogan: Y'all 'r here t' s'mee?
Billy: This is where we stand, Mr. Hogan. Your abilities definitely meet our requirements.
Billy: We're here to ask you some other questions.
Mr. Hogan: Y'all wanna ask m'bout why I wanna work wit Turing, yeh?
Billy: Ok.
Player: (Whisper) Work with Turing, haha!
Billy: (Whisper) Quiet. Don't make me laugh at a time like this!
Mr. Hogan: F'it were you, would you wanna be a smith yer whole life?
Mr. Hogan: M gittin old. These days, I feel like I ain't got no time...
Mr. Hogan: Ain't got time to do nothin'.
Mr. Hogan: These days folks always wanna know about the Order of Equality airship.
Mr. Hogan: But they all know dat Master Turing was the one who invented it!
Mr. Hogan: So I wanted t'work as Turing's assistant. Felt I owed it to m'self.
Mr. Hogan: He's a real master. I'm just a worker.
Mr. Hogan: Forgive me f'not expressin' it proper, but I think 'f I helped Master Turing...
Mr. Hogan: We'd able to make a lot more then just airships!
Billy: All right. Thank you, Mr. Hogan. I understand your point.
Billy: That's all I wanted to ask. Do you have any other questions?
Choice - If I may, why did you quit gambling?
Billy: (Whisper) Hey, why are you being so direct? He's already kicked the habit, lay off.
Mr. Hogan: Hell, I ain't shy 'bout it.
Mr. Hogan: One time I was gamblin'. Ay. Haha. Got carried away.
Mr. Hogan: Lost de weddin' ring I was gonna give my wife for our 30 year anniversary. Couldn't win it back, neither!
Mr. Hogan: When I got back home, de missus tore me a new one. Never gambled again after that!
Choice - If I may, why don't you want to be a manager?
Mr. Hogan: Can't do it.
Mr. Hogan: Plus, y'get too busy handlin' that kinda nonsense.
Mr. Hogan: F' I don't got any pliers t'work wit, my hands start to miss 'em. Don't like it!
Choice - If I may, do you have a wife or children?
Billy: (Whisper) Hey, why are you asking such personal questions?
Mr. Hogan: Ah. Yeh. Got a tough old lady back't home--I mean, a pure princess!
Mr. Hogan: No kids, though. Missus ain't want 'em.
Choice - Nope.
Player: Thank you, Mr. Hogan. We'll let you know the result later.
Mr. Hogan: Ah. All right. Safe trip, 'n all.
Billy: Thank you, Mr. Hogan!
Conversation continues after choices.
Billy: What do you think? What do you think about Mr. Hogan?
Choice - He was a little hard to understand...
Billy: Yeah, a little...
Billy: However, he can't speak very well, but that isn't so bad, is it?
Player: ...
Player: If you say so.
Billy: We'll go with him?
Billy: Mmm. How about we take a look at the others?
Billy: You decide!
Choice - Very respectable guy. Not arrogant at all! - 5 Intimacy
Billy: That's right. Whatever his abilities or his thinking, I approve.
Billy: And he's a Gyee!
Billy: And he quit drinking and gambling!
Billy: We'll go with him?
Billy: Mmm. How about we take a look at the others?
Billy: You decide!
Choice - I think something's wrong...
Billy: What's wrong?
Player: When I asked him why he quit gambling, I got the feeling he wasn't telling the story...
Billy: I didn't see any problem. What did you expect him to say?
Billy: I feel like, if I gambled away the boss's airship, I'd quit gambling, too!
Player: Uh... then there's no problem, right?
Billy: We'll go with him?
Billy: Mmm. How about we take a look at the others?
Billy: You decide!
Conversation continues after choices.
Go back to start of Part 2

Choice - Let me take a look at the other candidates first.
Go back to start of Part 2

-Choice C: Rich Man's Daughter Flora
Player: This rich man's daughter... is also a candidate for Turing's assistant?
Billy: Yes. She's very passionate about building machines. She also says the boss is her idol...
Billy: She even dropped out of Arcana Academy in Elysiann specifically to follow his example.
Billy: She just dropped out. When she heard that I was helping the boss find a new assistant, she immediately wrote a letter of application...
Billy: Moreover, her application letter was the first one we received!
Billy: Elysiann is all the way to the east. It's so far away, I have no idea how she got the letter here so quickly...
Player: What does her family do?
Billy: Her father is the world's largest supplier of mechanical components. Half of Red Harbor's factories use components made by her family.
Player: That's incredible. What about her abilities, personally?
Billy: They're pretty good!
Billy: She also sent some of her inventions, along with design plans and manufacturing workflow.
Billy: I can confirm that they're all her work!
Billy: She does have some flaws, however. As you could probably guess, she isn't too strong.
Billy: But her craftsmanship is very beautiful. Mine can't even compare...
Billy: Even though my technique is on point, the boss always says the stuff I make is...
Billy: A little ugly...
Billy: So I figure this girl is worth considering!
Billy: But I still want to interview some of the people close to her face-to-face.
Choice - Wait, is she pretty?
Billy: How should I know? I haven't seen her yet...
Billy: Besides, now's not the time to think about that!
Billy: Let's go!
Choice - Wait, are we going to visit her home?
Billy: Uh... I don't think they'd let us in...
Billy: But I've already asked around about where she is. You'll find out when we get there!
Choice - All right, let's go!

-Rich Man's Daughter Flora
Player: (Whisper) Are you sure about this place? She's supposed to be the first daughter of a rich family...
Billy: (Whisper) This place is huge. It has to be right, yeah?
Billy: (Whisper) Stand up straight. We need to look proper!
Middle-aged Man: Stop. What are you doing?
Billy: Is Miss Flora here?
Middle-aged Man: Who do you think you are? You think you can just visit the lady whenever you please?
Billy: I'm Master Turing's assistant, Bil...
Middle-aged Man: Oh, oh, oh! I'm sorry, Master Assistant!
Middle-aged Man: I failed to recognize you. Gentlemen, these past few days, the lady...
Middle-aged Man: Has been investigating the structure of the underground pipes. They appear to be somewhat...
Young Girl's Voice: Master Turing! Is Master Turing here?
People: My lady!
Flora: Ah! It's Mr. Billy!
Billy: ...
Flora: You're the guy... er... the man who saved Master Turing at that crook, Dick's factory...
Flora: You're a real hero!
People: Hero! Hero! Hero!
Player: Uh... y... yeah? Greetings, my lady!
Player: (Whisper) I never expected to get this kind of fanfare for saving Master Turing...
Billy: (Whisper) She seems to know us inside and out!
Player: (Whisper) She's so rich. You don't think it's going to be a problem for Master Turing to have paparazzi around all the time, do you?
Billy: (Whisper) You think I should try to talk like the boss? I think...
Player: (Whisper) Don't put on airs! She'll know if you do. Just be yourself...
Billy: (Whisper) Crap! So much pressure!
Flora: Well? What are you just standing there for? Give them their gifts!
Middle-aged Man: Y... yes!
Middle-aged Man: We hope you two will please kindly accept these gifts!
Player: (Whisper) Feels like whatever's inside must be really expensive! Can we take these?
Billy: (Whisper) I want to take them, too. But what if we take the gifts and we don't end up hiring her? That would be really embarrassing!
Billy: (Whisper) We'd better not accept. We're just here to help the boss find an assistant!
Billy: Thank you, but we can't accept these.
Flora: What are you looking at me for? Billy told you to bring them back! Bring them back!
Middle-aged Man: Yes, my lady!
Flora: All right. Go on now. Don't get in our way.
People: Yes, my lady!
Flora: All right, Mr. Billy! Mr. Hero!
Flora: Everyone's gone now. If you've got any questions, just ask away!
Billy: Uh, I have perused your application letter and have taken a look at the instruments you made.
Billy: The reason that we have come to see you is that Master Turing found your...
Flora: *puff*...
Billy: What's so funny!
Flora: I'm sorry, it's just that you're trying to be so earnest, and I found it a little funny!
Player: (Whisper) I told you not to put on airs...
Billy: All right. Here's something I'd like to ask...have you been investigating us?
Billy: Why do I feel like you know everything there is to know about us?
Flora: Master Turing is my idol. Of course I've taken an interest in you!
Flora: But I don't know much about what you've been doing after you went to Never Isle...
Flora: Anyway, you haven't returned to Master Turing's laboratory, right?
Billy: ... wasn't that torn down by Dick?
Flora: Humph. He wouldn't dare. Not on my watch!
Flora: Don't you worry. I've already warned him that as long as he lives, he's never to interfere with Master Turing's work again!
Billy: Thank... thank you, ma'am!
Flora: Just call me Flora!
Flora: But Mr. Billy, please under no circumstances tell Master Turing that I've been asking around about you all!
Flora: If he found out, he'd hate me for sure. Just tell him that you happened to find out that his laboratory was safe and sound!
Flora: Actually, I've been asking around about Master Turing because I've wanted to learn more about his personality, his hobbies, his habits, and things like that!
Flora: You two can rest easy. Once I become Master Turing's assistant...
Flora: I'll make him his favorite dish every single day, and I'll absolutely never buy apples!
Flora: When he's doing research, he likes peace and quiet. He doesn't say a single word!
Flora: So when he doesn't want me to bother him, I'll leave him alone!
Flora: Also, don't think that just because I'm a girl, that I'm not willing to get my hands dirty!
Flora: If Mr. Billy can do it, so can I!
Billy: Uh... however, some tasks require strength...
Flora: I know! You saw the things that I made and got the feeling that I'm not very strong!
Flora: Humph! But I've been training really hard lately, and I can do fifty push-ups in a row now!
Flora: Watch!
Player: No, no, no! The ground is too dirty!
Flora: All right. I trust my strength passes the test?
Billy: Y... yes.
Billy: (Whisper) Uh, do you have any questions you want to ask her? It would be pretty embarrassing if we didn't ask her anything...
Billy: (Whisper) But I have no idea what to ask. She prepared for this, and didn't even give me a chance to ask anything...
Player: (Whisper) I guess I'll try?
Billy: (Whisper) Ask anything you want. Anything that'll knock her off guard!
Choice - (Give her a philosophy problem.)
Player: If Ka is omnipotent, is he capable of creating a stone that he cannot lift herself?
Flora: Uh... yep!
Flora: As long as once the stone has been created, He'll removes the entire concept of lifting from existence!
Flora: That way, there will be no such thing as 'lifting' in the world, and we even won't be able to conceive that Ka cannot 'lift' something!
Billy: (Whisper) Is... is that answer allowed?
Choice - (Give her a numerical logic problem.)
Player: There are three consecutive integers greater than 6. Two of them are known to be prime numbers. Prove that the third number can be divisible by 6.
Billy: (Whisper) Hey, that was pretty good!
Flora: There are three consecutive numbers, at least one of which can be divisible by 2, and at least one of which can be divisible by 3.
Flora: Since two of these three numbers are prime numbers, the one that remains is definitely divisible by 2 and 3.
Billy: (Whisper) Ooh. I see...
Player: (Whisper) I don't think we can stump her...
Choice - (Ask her a marketing question.)
Player: You've been tasked with selling a trash can for 20,000 Gold. How do you go about doing it?
Flora: Haha, that's easy!
Flora: I'll just sell it to my dad!
Billy: (Whisper) Haha, that's a good answer.
Player: (Whisper)*sighs*... I'll never be that rich...
Choice - (Inquire about her family's business.)
Player: In your application letter, you said that half of the factories in Red Harbor use components made by your family's business.
Player: If I may, specifically how many is 'half?'
Flora: Uh... 100... no...
Flora: I don't remember...
Billy: (Whisper) Haha, finally something she doesn't know!
Player: (Whisper) She could throw out a random number and I'd have no way of verifying it...
Player: (Whisper) At least her answer was honest.
Billy: (Whisper) Yes it was.
Choice - Nope. I've got nothing.
Player: Thank you Miss Flora. We will let you know the result as soon as we can.
Flora: Mm! Thank you, Mr. Hero! Thank you, Mr. Billy! Would you like to come to my house and sit for a while?
Billy: Haha, I'm afraid we can't. We have other things to attend to!
Flora: Well, then... good-bye! I hope I will see you all again on Never Isle!
Conversation continues after choices.
Billy: What did you think about her?
Choice - I don't think she's a good match for Master Turing. - 5 Intimacy
Player: She's too enthusiastic. Turing wouldn't be able to take it.
Player: The way she kept calling me 'Mr. Hero' made me a little uncomfortable...
Billy: But she seems to understand a lot about the boss. And she's very intelligent...
Billy: I think she'd be able to find a way to get along with the boss!
Player: Perhaps... But theory is very different from practice...
Billy: Then what should we do? Still want to look at the other candidate?
Choice - She's the perfect candidate!
Billy: Yeah?
Billy: I can't find any shortcomings for now.
Billy: Then what should we do? Still want to look at the other candidate?
Choice - Her family might present a problem for Master Turing. - 8 Intimacy
Billy: Huh? Why do you put it like that?
Player: Because we don't know what her father and mother are like. What if they end up wanting Turing to marry her?
Billy: Oh no... That would be really bad if that happened.
Player: It's hard to say what would happen...
Billy: Then what should we do? Still want to look at the other candidate?
Conversation continues after choices.
Go back to start of Part 2

Choice - Let me take a look at the other candidates first.
Go back to start of Part 2

-Choice D: Red Harbor Youngster Bob
Billy: Bob is 23 years old. He's done two years of apprentice work and three years of technical work at Mr. Bens's factory.
Billy: He specifically sent us his work journal. He seems to be a dependable worker. His technique is also pretty good.
Billy: And his application letter is very sincere!
Player: Hmm. He doesn't seem to stand out much against the other three candidates, however.
Billy: Yeah... Also, he's not a Gyee. Actually, the reason I want to go see him is...
Player: He reminds you of a younger version of yourself?
Billy: Yes, that's it!
Billy: When I had just gotten to Red Harbor and I was working at the shipbuilding factory, I started as an apprentice and worked my way up, too.
Billy: Back then, I was constantly thinking about how to make a name for myself, thinking about how to improve myself every day.
Billy: Back then, I also kept a work journal. I would write all the things I learned and all the things I still didn't understand inside...
Billy: I'd write down what work I did, what I ate.
Billy: I guess I did it because I felt like it made my days really fulfilling. It made them of purpose.
Billy: But I'd forget everything I'd written afterward, and never went back to look at it.
Billy: When I saw his work journal, I went and dug out my own.
Billy: I found that he and I have the same shortcoming: we both write so much that we're always digressing from our original topic!
Billy: I'd start by writing what I had for dinner and end up rating the taste and texture of the food...
Billy: I'd write half a page like that then discover I'd digressed from the topic. Then I'd use my pen to scratch it all out!
Choice - He sounds a lot like you.
Billy: Haha!
Choice - You seem like you're digressing now...
Billy: Yeah...
Conversation continues after choices.
Player: To get back to the point, I think this guy is worth the trip.
Player: Think about all the assistants that Turing has fired. Since he's been satisfied with you...
Player: He might also be satisfied with this Bob fellow.
Billy: Yeah. Let's go, then!
Choice - Let's go!

-Red Harbor Youngster Bob
Worker A: That Bob kid seems pretty skilled. He's a diligent worker. Only problem is he seems a little dumb.
Worker B: Yeah. He keeps talking about how to save enough money to go to the beach near Elysiann for a vacation, unafraid that his boss would overhear and fire him.
Player: (Whisper) Have you ever done something like that?
Billy: (Whisper) Back when I was being trained by my master, I wouldn't have dared.
Worker A: To put it bluntly, he's got a fool's luck. His boss seems to be really fond of him. Why would he fire him?
Worker B: Huh? When did he get into a fight with the boss?
Worker A: You don't know about the thing the other day?
Worker A: The boss inspected their workshop and called everyone in for a good old chewing out.
Worker A: The boss said, Bens is a company that prides itself on high-quality goods. These precise instruments must be kept clean.
Worker A: This requires our employees to pay attention to personal hygiene at all times.
Worker A: When you went to the toilet just now, did you use hand sanitizer to wash your hands when you came out?
Worker A: The foreman told the boss not to worry, that he doesn't need to tell us to wash our hands, that we are very clean.
Worker A: The other workers all responded, yes, boss! We always wash our hands!
Worker A: Only Bob was quiet. His face was red, like he was constipated.
Worker A: Suddenly, Bob started bowing down to the boss...
Worker A: I'm sorry, Boss! I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry! I'll be sure to wash my hands in the future! I'll use hand sanitizer!'
Worker B: Haha, so he hadn't been washing his hands? And he admitted it in front of the boss?
Worker A: When he said that, the foreman looked so angry. He looked like he wanted to stuff Bob's mouth with his fist!
Worker A: I'm not done talking yet! And then the boss looked perplexed. He asked him...
Worker A: What's your name?'
Worker A: I... I'm... Oh, sorry. Sir, I'm Bob!'
Worker A: The boss immediately flew into a rage...
Worker A: You scoundrels! The hand sanitizer is all gone! What have you been using to wash your hands?!'
Worker A: Bob is the only honest person here! Everyone else is docked half a month's pay. Don't like it? Get the hell out!'
Billy: (Whisper) Haha, that's Mr. Bens for you. Well done!
Player: (Whisper) Seems like we didn't come for nothing. Why don't we go see Bob?
Worker A: What's more, he took all the money that was deducted from everyone's salaries and gave it all to Bob as a bonus!
Worker B: Oh man. Isn't that just going to put a target on Bob's back?
Worker A: That little yellow belly immediately apologized to everyone and gave the bonus back to them to avoid a beating.
Player: He deserved that money. Why'd he give it back?
Worker B: Yeah. He should've just let it go. Why apologize and get scared?
Worker B: Couldn't he just get the boss to back him up?
Billy: ...
Player: (Judging from Billy's expression, it looks like he's been in a similar situation before.)
Billy: Excuse me, where's Bob?
Worker A: Ah, he's over there...
Billy: Hello.
Bob: Haha, are you my new coworkers? I'm Bob!
Billy: I'm Billy, Master Turing's assistant.
Bob: B... B... Billy, sir! No, Master Billy!
Bob: You came all the way here yourself?
Billy: Why do you want to become Master Turing's assistant?
Bob: I want to learn things from Master Turing!
Bob: I really, really admire Master Turing! All of his periodicals, and all of his inventions, I've...
Billy: You've already written all this in your application letter.
Billy: What advantages do you think you have over other applicants?
Bob: I...
Billy: Don't be nervous.
Bob: Actually, I don't know that I have any advantages. If I had to say, I guess it would be my love and respect for Master Turing...
Bob: And my passion for work!
Bob: But Master Turing is quite famous. There are plenty who respect and love him, and plenty who are passionate about work.
Bob: So I don't think this is really an advantage...
Bob: Haha, I know I'm not the best, and I don't know whether I'll get the position!
Bob: Maybe this time I'll fail. And the next time. And the next. And the time after that!
Bob: But every time I learn. That's how I learn what parts of myself I need to work on!
Bob: Also, my workshop's foreman has promised to teach me new skills!
Bob: I study very hard every day. Some day, I will meet Master Turing's standard!
Player: (Whisper) He's a very candid young man!
Billy: I hear that you want to go to the seaside in Elysiann for a vacation. It would be very hard to take a vacation if you took up work as an assistant.
Billy: If you become Master Turing's assistant, it may be several years before you could take a vacation.
Bob: Huh?!
Bob: Several years?!
Billy: Is this unacceptable to you?
Bob: Haha, nope!
Bob: As long as I can be Master Turing's assistant, I could go many, many years without a vacation!
Bob: My whole life would be worth it!
Bob: I wouldn't need a vacation!
Billy: Haha, I see.
Player: (Whisper) Careful, your mask is slipping!
Billy: Uh, the last question. You're a normal human. What do you think about Gyee?
Bob: Lots of older Gyee work here at the Bens factory.
Bob: Every day, we work together, eat together, and sleep together. They have the same trouble;they sweat, or get sick...
Bob: When they're happy, they smile. When they're sad, they cry. When they're angry, they lose their temper...
Bob: Although I've always been told that Gyee are evil and that I should stay away from them...
Bob: My impression of them has been the complete opposite.
Bob: Most of the Gyee I've met are not only not evil, they're even nicer than most normal human beings I know!
Bob: Everyone likes to hide from them, shun them, even beat them up.
Bob: At times like these, all you need to do is treat them well, and they will be happy. They will reward you twice as much.
Bob: They even say to me, don't get too close. Otherwise the other workers will see, and they will alienate you.
Bob: Very few people actually care about me, so for someone to put themselves in my shoes...
Bob: I really don't think they should be treated so unfairly.
Billy: Uh...
Billy: What if... everyone else around you is a Gyee, and you're the only normal human?
Billy: Have you thought about this?
Bob: Uh, no...
Bob: You don't think I'll be the one who's ostracized then, do you?
Player: Nope. When they bring you into their circle, tell them how you feel about the Gyee.
Player: Not only will they welcome you, but they'll all want to be your friend.
Billy: Well, that's all I had to ask. Is there anything you want to ask?
Player: Hmm. Well, then...
Bob: Yeah, there is! Master Billy, do you think I have a high probability of passing?
Bob: Greater than 10%?
Billy: I didn't mean you ask me, I meant him ask you...
Bob: Oh. Sorry! I'm so sorry!
Choice - (Give him a math problem.)
Player: What is the sum of all numbers from 1 to 100?
Bob: 3... 6... 10... 15...
Player: Almost a minute passes...
Bob: 5050! Is that right?
Player: (Whisper) Billy, I think he got the answer faster than you did, right?
Billy: You took that long to add it all up, but don't you figure out that adding 1 to 100, is equal to adding 2 to 99?
Bob: Hey, you're right!
Bob: Thank you for pointing that out, Master Billy!
Player: (Whisper) Happy?
Billy: (Whisper) Heh, heh!
Choice - (Give him a numeral logic problem.)
Player: There are three consecutive integers greater than 6. Two of them are known to be prime numbers. Prove that the third number can be divisible by 6.
Bob: 11, 12, 13... 17, 18, 19...
Bob: Yeah, you can!
Bob: But we need you to prove it...
Billy: What times what equals 6?
Bob: I know! For three consecutive integers, one must be divisible by 2, and one can be divisible by 3!
Bob: In these three integers, these two prime numbers can neither be divisible by 2 nor divisible by 3...
Bob: The remaining number can definitely be divisible by 2 and can be divisible by 3. That is, it can be divided by 6.
Player: (Whisper) I think he's smarter than you are, Billy.
Billy: Yes. Well done. That's the right answer.
Bob: Haha, thank you, Master Billy!
Choice - (Ask him a marketing question.)
Player: You've been tasked with selling a trash can for 20,000 Gold. How do you go about doing it?
Bob: Whoa, why sell a trash can for that much? Sounds like a scam!
Bob: No. I just mean, think about it. Even if it was made of pure gold, it wouldn't be that expensive...
Billy: You passed the question.
Choice - (Give him a philosophy problem.)
Player: If Ka is omnipotent, is she capable of creating a stone that she cannot lift herself?
Bob: Is it even possible to answer that question?
Billy: Yeah, this is a paradox.
Bob: Of course! I believe in Ka!
Bob: If it's Ka we're talking about, She can resolve a paradox for sure!
Bob: But a human mind has no way of comprehending how she would resolve it.
Choice - Nope. I've got nothing.
Player: Well done, Bob. We will let you know the result as soon as we can.
Bob: All right! I wish you a safe return, Master Billy!
Conversation continues after choices.
Billy: Honestly? I think he's all right.
Billy: However, he's a little weaker than the other three in terms of hard power...
Billy: So I'm undecided. What do you think?
Choice - I think he's got more natural ability than you do. - 5 Intimacy
Billy: Indeed...
Billy: At this rate, and with the boss's guidance, he could even be a better assistant than I am in two years' time!
Billy: However, if this happens...
Billy: Will I be completely replaced?
Billy: No, I shouldn't think like that. If he's even better than I am, it would be a big help to the boss. I hope he does replace me!
Billy: So you've decided on him?
Billy: Or do you want to choose someone else?
Choice - Virtue is priceless! - 8 Intimacy
Billy: All right. I agree!
Player: Dependable, honest and hard-working, studious, and conscientious. I think he's a good choice!
Billy: All right! So you've decided on him?
Billy: Or do you want to choose someone else?
Choice - What if he becomes your shadow? - 11 Intimacy
Billy: ...
Player: That's right. If Turing will make him your shadow. If he makes him your replica ...
Player: Then after a while, he'll lose his sense of self.
Billy: You're right...
Billy: If I was the one replacing someone else, I wouldn't want to be their shadow or replica, either...
Billy: Then what should we do? Still want to look at the other candidates?
Billy: Or do you want to choose someone else?
Choice - The way he talked about Gyee really moved me! - 8 Intimacy
Player: I just had a thought. When you worked at the Red Harbor, were you ever pushed aside?
Billy: Haha, I'm pretty lucky.
Billy: When I was at the shipyard, I thought I was just a human being. Nobody else knew I was a Gyee, either.
Billy: I didn't find out until I was already with the boss.
Billy: Actually, back then with the boss, we were both pushed aside...
Billy: But it wasn't so bad!
Billy: The present is even better, though. I'm surrounded by Gyees, now! Haha!
Player: You are pretty lucky!
Billy: So have you decided on him?
Billy: Or do you want to choose someone else?
Conversation continues after choices.

Choice - Let me some other candidates first.
Go back to start of Part 2

-Choice E: I've decided on a candidate!
Go to Part 3

-Part 3
Billy: Yeah? So who do you think is most suitable?
Player: First tell me what you think!
Billy: Well, the one I like the most is Mr. Hogan.
Billy: Miss Flora doesn't seem too bad, but I don't really like Mr. Thomas.
Billy: And I'm not too sure about Bob...
Billy: What do you think?

-Choice A: Genius Instructor Thomas
Player: I think Turing really admires him.
Player: After all, his views are innovative, and he's got a firm grasp on the theory and knowledge. I'm not sure whether he would have differences of opinion with Turing, though.
Player: Additionally, he's a Gyee and he can fight. That's a plus.
Player: Furthermore, he is very skilled. Didn't you say:
Player: You can't even compare to his skill in crafting precise instruments?
Billy: However, he doesn't have a very likable personality...
Player: When all is said and done, he hasn't done anything too outrageous. It seems like you'd be getting bang for your buck.
Choice A.1 - I think he's fine.
Scene transition
Player: How did it work out? That assistant we recommended. Thomas?
Billy: I don't want to talk about that. The boss kicked him out after less than a month.
Player: Why?
Billy: Thomas was very learned, and the boss respected that much.
Billy: But in truth, there were some things they disagreed on. Thomas's thinking was too scattered and fleeting, and he would talk nonsense...
Billy: Though the boss said, even though he talked nonsense, it was not baseless nonsense.
Billy: These unconstrained arguments would give him lots of inspiration.
Billy: Although they were always disagreeing, they would feel happy and satisfied once they'd put aside their differences.
Billy: Just like you said, their personalities clashed.
Player: Isn't this a good thing?
Billy: But the boss didn't like him. He said he's fickle , overly ambitious, and has no sense of responsibility. He was also very selfish .
Billy: He said you shouldn't associate with people like that for too long a period of time, so he got rid of him.
Billy: He wasn't reluctant to leave. He also opened his own laboratory, saying he wanted to combine Arcana and machines to conduct research...
Billy: Another thing. With Master Turing's advice, he came up with an amazing idea:
Billy: To use Arcana as the mechanism to drive machines. To use engineering to rebuild the theoretical framework of Arcana.'
Player: Sounds pretty advanced...
Billy: Yeah. Seems like they worked out a pretty incredible theory together...
Billy: But I still failed to give the boss a proper assistant.
Either Choice - "We made an error in judgment..." OR "Pretty poor result, actually." - Both 11 Intimacy
Player: No need to despair. We'll just keep looking...
Scene ends
Choice A.2 - However, the other candidates are good, too... (Select another)
Go back to the start of Part 3

-Choice B: Senior Worker Hogan
Player: He's capable, skilled, has good relationships with people, is experienced, and is a Gyee!
Player: To say nothing of the fact that he's quit drinking and gambling.
Player: Most importantly, he's very passionate about work!
Choice B.1 - I feel the same way.
Scene transition
Player: How about it? Was Turing satisfied with Mr. Hogan?
Billy: Satisfied. The boss has rated Mr. Hogan very, very highly...
Player: What's wrong? Are you afraid you've been forgotten?
Billy: *sighs*... of course not.
Billy: Eddie was right. There really was another reason he quit drinking and gambling...
Billy: Why didn't we pay closer attention sooner?
Player: What happened?
Billy: He quit drinking and gambling because his wife got seriously ill and needed money for treatment.
Billy: Because his wife's condition was deteriorating, he needed more money, and went into serious debt.
Billy: So he went to work for the boss because he was planning to steal his blueprints!
Player: How can this be?!
Billy: Two years ago, he came out as a Gyee so that the Order of Equality would snatch him up.
Billy: He needed the money for his wife's treatment. But in truth, he wasn't actually a Gyee.
Billy: At least he was much friendlier toward Gyees than most normal humans!
Billy: He actually stole the blueprints less than a week after he started working there. But he didn't run...
Billy: It seems like he was pretty conflicted about it. On the one hand, the he faced dignity and morality. On the other, he had to protected the only one he loved...
Billy: The boss had already found out, but he didn't say anything. He just kept his eye on him.
Billy: After a month, just the other day, his wife's condition was extremely urgent.
Billy: He left, and left behind a letter saying how embarrassed he was.
Billy: He said that once his wife got better, he'd come back and be his workhorse.
Billy: Luckily, the blueprint was purchased by Miss Flora. She gave it to me to give back to the boss...
Player: Miss Flora! She really did us a big favor!
Billy: The boss understands Mr. Hogan's difficult situation. He not only forgave him, but he also wrote him a letter in reply.
Billy: He's told me to ask around about where Mr. Hogan lives so that I can personally deliver it to him.
Billy: He's also asked me to buy him some gifts and health products...
Player: Master Turing is very forgiving!
Billy: But of course. He didn't blame me, either. He even consoled me.
Billy: He told me that nobody wanted this to happen, that it wasn't anybody's fault, and that he didn't want me to worry about it.
Either Choice - "Luckily, he didn't suffer any losses..." OR "That's not such a bad outcome." - Both 15 Intimacy
Player: I hope his wife will get better soon!
Scene ends
Choice B.2 - However, the other candidates are good, too... (Select another)
Go back to the start of Part 3

-Choice C: Rich Man's Daughter Flora
Player: First of all, Miss Flora is very loyal!
Player: Not only did she want to give us gifts, she told Dick off and saved Master Turing's laboratory!
Player: Additionally, we should also consider the resources Miss Flora would bring...
Billy: We don't need to give that another thought.
Billy: The boss wouldn't accept her financial support, so her resources...
Billy: They would just be a burden on the boss.
Player: However, you must admit, she's very studious, optimistic, intelligent, and unafraid of getting her hands dirty!
Player: I personally went underground to investigate the pipeline, and I didn't see a trace of any shortcomings.
Billy: I think you're right about this!
Billy: Also, if we don't select her, do you think there'd be any personal retaliation?
Player: Better not mention that. Once we're off the island, there is indeed a chance she could control us...
Player: However, she doesn't seem like the type to take personal revenge.
Choice C.1 - In short, she is a suitable candidate.
Scene transition
Player: How'd it go? How'd Miss Flora do?
Billy: Haha, the other day I went to the boss's...
Billy: He gave me a machine she'd crafted to look at. He pointed out every detail one-by-one and said:
Billy: You do need to put some consideration into appearance. You don't need to spend so much effort pursuing perfection like she does...'
Billy: But you also don't want it to be too ugly.'
Billy: And then I asked the boss where Miss Flora was.
Billy: The boss's face turned red and then white. He hesitated for a few seconds and then told me she went home.
Player: Why?
Billy: With the way she said it, it sounds like she got fired by the boss!
Billy: She was too enthusiastic. The boss couldn't take it anymore!
Billy: What's more, when we were looking into her, we found out she'd be willing to get her hands dirty.
Billy: We neglected to consider was that the boss would feel awkward making her do such work?
Player: Yeah. If I were in his position, I'd have a hard time, too.
Billy: So the boss was doing all the hard, dirty work!
Billy: When that happened, Miss Flora was unhappy about it, and began rushing to do the dirty and hard work herself. Including...
Billy: Helping the boss clean the toilet, wash his socks, etc...
Player: That must have really embarrassed Turing.
Billy: Yeah. The boss told me that he really admires Miss Flora.
Billy: It's just that it was really awkward and he couldn't get used to it!
Billy: However, even though Miss Flora won't be the boss's assistant anymore, she managed to become his apprentice, at least in name!
Player: In name?
Billy: Yeah, the boss said:
Billy: I'll guide you long-distance. You can send me the things you make, and I'll send you my feedback so you can make improvements.'
Either Choice - "Seems like Master Turing was pretty satisfied in the end!" OR "All's well that ends well." - Both 2 Intimacy
Billy: Haha, yes!
Scene ends
Choice C.2 - However, the other candidates are good, too... (Select another)
Go back to the start of Part 3

-Choice D: Red Harbor Youngster Bob
Player: Since you don't know what to think about him, let me help you out.
Player: Think about it. He's young. He's dependable, studious, well-intentioned...
Player: Additionally, he's got a good temperament. His technique is up to standard.
Player: Most importantly, his personality is well-suited to Turing's tastes.
Choice D.1 - Consider the matter settled!
Scene transition
Player: How about it? Was Master Turing happy with Bob?
Billy: Yeah. But I also feel a little sorry for Bob...
Billy: He really does resemble me back then.
Billy: So much so that the boss has even started using him as my substitute...
Billy: Sometimes, he'll even call him 'Billy' on accident...
Billy: If it were me, I wouldn't be too happy about living in someone's shadow like that. After a while, you'd start to feel like someone else.
Billy: Bob had a three-month probationary period and in the end quit.
Billy: He wrote a really emotional resignation letter. Before he left he bowed to the boss three times in a row.
Billy: The boss and I both felt really guilty. The boss even took some time out of his day to write him an apology letter.
Billy: However, even though he was unable to be the boss's assistant in the end, he became our good friend.
Billy: He's already run off to the Elysiann seaside for his vacation. He even invited me and the boss to go with him!
Billy: Unprecedentedly, the boss agreed. He's packing his luggage as we speak!
Player: Why didn't you invite me?!
Billy: Haha, maybe he felt like you were too mean during the interview. He doesn't like you!
Player: Didn't you push me to do that, though?
Billy: Haha, sorry! But since even the boss is going, I'm going to have to leave you for now.
Billy: I need to pack my luggage, too!
Player: Why, you...
Either Choice - "As long as Master Turing is happy!" OR "All's well that ends well." - Both 2 Intimacy
Player: It's pretty incredible that Bob managed to convince Turing to take a vacation! It couldn't have been easy...
